There is plenty of walking and hiking to be done whether its by lochs and burns through wooded glens, hiking the Munro’s and Corbett’s, or the world famous Ben Arthur (The Cobbler), which features the most distinctive outline of any mountain in the Southern Highlands. Access to these hills and walks starts from the drive way at Gleann Fia House with a footpath starting right next to the house taking you straight up the side of the mountain. There are many beautiful towns and villages in the area such as Inveraray, with its fairytale castle, old jail, the nearby renowned Oyster Bar at Loch Fyne and Loch Fyne Brewery. Towards Dunoon the botanical gardens at Benmore offer many rare species of trees and shrubs, including giant redwoods! Only a 12 minute walk around Loch Long you can relax with the locals in Ben Arthur’s Bothy, a local pub where your dog is also welcome or dine out at The Slanj, a great local restaurant. A short ferry ride can also be taken from Tarbet across Loch Lomond to conquer Ben Lomond !

Unfortunately the weather was not favourable for our week but the on site games room and spa as well as stock of board games meant we did not get bored. Doug has catered really well for groups. The covered outside gas fire shelter is a fab location for an evening catching up. Loch side fire pit was excellent and lots of parking. Ample storage. Lovely set up for dining in the conservatory which is beautiful all weathers. Kitchen had all that we needed and the extra store with kitchen roll/extra toiletries/cleaning materials just meant we needed to worry about food. Altogether a fabulous set up for large family or extended families like ours. It was the hilight of our trip back from Australia. MF the property manager was excellent and really helpful on site. I would recommend this and hope to stay again when we are next back in Scotland."

The large dining kitchen is fully equipped with all the utensils you may need and a ceramic hob, double oven and washing machine and fridge freezer plus storage cupboards and table & chairs. There are are two double bedrooms, ideal for families, with their own private en-suite. All bedding and towels are provided. The Apartment is ground floor with its own private entrance. There is a level private lawned garden, terrace for your personal use and two parking spaces to the side with a private off road drive.

The location is absolutely perfect for exploring Long Lomond, Loch Long, The Trossachs, Argyll Forest Park and Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, and lovely charming towns like Luss! We loved de decoration of the appartment, with very comfy sofas, cozy rugs, the great private garden, complete kitchen. We were very warmly welcomed with surprise goodies, and very clear instructions to finding the appartment and the private parking space next to it. The appartment has absolutely everything you could need in a holiday home. The local shop is within 2 minutes walking distance and has all basics you need. The only very minor downside for us was that it's dog-friendly and a little bit humid (although the dehumidifier helps a lot!), which wasn't ideal for our allergic and asthmatic daughter. We would still come back as it was a truly wonderful experience!"
