There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, from castles to breweries, fishing to boat trips and even flying. There is plenty of walking and hiking to be done whether its by lochs and burns through wooded glens, hiking the Munro’s and Corbett’s, or the world famous Ben Arthur (The Cobbler), which features the most distinctive outline of any mountain in the Southern Highlands. Access to these hills and walks starts from the drive way at Gleann Fia House with a footpath starting right next to the house taking you straight up the side of the mountain. There are many beautiful towns and villages in the area such as Inveraray, with its fairytale castle, old jail, the nearby renowned Oyster Bar at Loch Fyne and Loch Fyne Brewery. Towards Dunoon the botanical gardens at Benmore offer many rare species of trees and shrubs, including giant redwoods! Only a 12 minute walk around Loch Long you can relax with the locals in Ben Arthur’s Bothy, a local pub where your dog is also welcome or dine out at The Slanj, a great local restaurant. A short ferry ride can also be taken from Tarbet across Loch Lomond to conquer Ben Lomond !

Any consumption of electricity for vehicle charging has not been factored into your rental rate and as such will be recharged to you at a specified rate at the end of your stay using the most recent kw hour rates applicable or alternatively reclaimed from your rental deposit.

Unfortunately the weather was not favourable for our week but the on site games room and spa as well as stock of board games meant we did not get bored. Doug has catered really well for groups. The covered outside gas fire shelter is a fab location for an evening catching up. Loch side fire pit was excellent and lots of parking. Ample storage. Lovely set up for dining in the conservatory which is beautiful all weathers. Kitchen had all that we needed and the extra store with kitchen roll/extra toiletries/cleaning materials just meant we needed to worry about food. Altogether a fabulous set up for large family or extended families like ours. It was the hilight of our trip back from Australia. MF the property manager was excellent and really helpful on site. I would recommend this and hope to stay again when we are next back in Scotland."

The only very minor downside for us was that it's dog-friendly and a little bit humid (although the dehumidifier helps a lot!), which wasn't ideal for our allergic and asthmatic daughter. Our place is a luxury bespoke lodge, brand new in 2023. Furnished for the ultimate in a comfortable and relaxing stay.
It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms both with showers. The master bedroom has a dressing area and ensuite shower room. There is a fully fitted kitchen area kitted out with cooker, oven, microwave, dishwasher, full size fridge/freezer. In the utility room there is an automatic washing machine.
The living area is open plan with wide open views with un-interrupted views onto Loch Lomond and beyond.

You are able to bring your own boat and/or jetski. There is an additional charge of £25 per week or part thereof. Boat/jetski are not permitted to be parked alongside our lodge overnight, but are parked in the parks secure boatyard. Full details will be provided or ask me before booking.
Another note is that all motorised craft must be registered with the Loch Lomond Park Authority before launch, please ask for details. This can be done online but will require doing so before your stay.

Enjoy a cruises from Tarbet (1 mile) explore the small islands of the Loch with breathtaking scenery. Originally the home of the estate manager, this property has been renovated to an exceptionally high standard, including high insulation levels and underfloor heating throughout, provided from a biomass system with continuous hot water and heating. Step inside the spacious hallway on the ground floor, where a cosy seating nook invites you to unwind. The ground floor also features an ensuite bedroom for convenient access, should you require it.

On the first floor, you’ll soon realise why we chose this layout. A generous lounge is adorned with floor-to-ceiling windows and plush seating, creating the perfect vantage point to immerse yourself in the lovely panorama outside. Or perhaps you’d prefer to enjoy the fresh, Scottish air on the balcony and be even closer to the breath-taking landscape.

The Villa’s first floor also houses three further en-suite bedrooms, each furnished to echo the tranquillity and elegance of the surrounding Highlands.

Mealtimes are an experience in our fully equipped dining kitchen, complete with more large windows that frame the dining area. What better backdrop to enjoy your meal that our lovely gardens? Our kitchen comes furnished with all the essentials: cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher.

If you’d like to venture outdoors, you can relax with some al fresco dining. Discover a variety of plants and flowers and a peaceful pond within the gardens - and don’t forget to keep an eye out for local wildlife, including visiting deer.

Please be aware that our driveway is currently not wheelchair accessible. Pet owners are more than welcome, for a small additional cleaning fee, but please declare the breed and number of dogs when booking.

During periods of heavy rainfall, a charming stream runs through our garden, ultimately reaching a pond. Guests with children should be aware of the drainage ditch dug through the higher and lower areas of the garden to guide the water safely.

With five bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, Rowantree provides a perfect space for large gatherings of family and friends who want to create lasting memories, surrounded by spectacular scenery.

The space
When you step inside Rowantree Cottage, a warm welcome radiates from every room. The ground floor invites you to relax in an open plan living dining room with a a Smart TV, equipped with Netflix and an Amazon Firestick. The space is ideal for shared meals and conversations, while the modern kitchen is well-equipped with an electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and a washing machine.
The ground floor also houses a comfortable bedroom, fitted with a zip and link king size bed, which can be set as two twin beds upon request. Its accompanying ensuite features a walk-in shower, a toilet, and a heated towel rail.

Up a staircase the first floor to the front of the building has two bedrooms, one a king and the other 2 singles and a toddler bed. Both bedrooms have ensuites.

The second staircase leads to the back of the house and contains two more bedrooms. The first with a double bed and the second bedroom, through the double bedroom, has a zip and link super king which can also be set up as 2 singles on request. The bedroom with a double does not have an ensuite but could use the bathroom at the bottom of the stairs if separate bathrooms are required.
If requested we may be able to lock the door between these 2 bedrooms and access to the super king bedroom can be from the fitted patio doors instead if preferred.

Guests enjoy oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels, and free Wi-Fi throughout their stay.

Our place is a strictly no pets accomodation. We cater for guests who take comfort from the fact that there have never been any pets staying in our place and can rest easy if they have any allergies or concerns relating to this.

You are able to bring your own boat and/or jetski. There is an additional charge of £25 per week or part thereof. Boat/jetski are not permitted to be parked alongside our lodge overnight, but are parked in the parks secure boatyard. Full details will be provided or ask me before booking.
Another note is that all motorised craft must be registered with the Loch Lomond Park Authority before launch, please ask for details. This can be done online but will require doing so before your stay.
