- "Good kitchen equipment, good beds." - "Wonderful little apartment with beautiful surroundings. We loved our stay. Very clean property and had excellent facilities. We would love to stay again, hopefully for longer next time!" - "Unfortunately we didn't find the accommodation to be what we expected after reading the property description. We had no view of the Loch. Our view was a small back garden as the annex is built on the back of a garage. The accommodation is compact to say the least. The expected bedroom was in fact a mezzanine above the kitchen and bathroom. On a positive note, the accommodation was well equipped, clean, warm with fluffy towels and beautiful bedding."

Cozy, charming and everything you could need! zero complaints!" - "Duart Cottage is a lovely cottage in an excellent location. It is in the heart of Glencoe with fabulous views of the surrounding hills. We enjoyed a long weekend in what felt like a home from home with spacious bedrooms upstairs and a bedroom on the ground floor which is ideal for anyone who might struggle with stairs. The local shop is within a couple of minutes walking distance and there was easy access to local craft shops. We enjoyed numerous walks in the surrounding area with breathtaking views. We didn't need it but I can imagine that the drying room would be an excellent resource for anyone who has spent the day in the hills, either walking or skiing, with jackets, boots etc needing to dry before use the next day. We will definitely be booking another stay at Duart Cottage when we return to Glencoe."

Situated at the end of stunning Glen Etive, Hollybank overlooks Loch Etive and is surrounded by beautiful mountains. Sleeping 8, it has recently been completely refurbished to a very high standard.
Ideally suited to those who enjoy seclusion and the outdoors, there are many trails and paths from outside the door, and Glencoe Mountain Ski Resort is nearby.
Glenetive can get busy with tourists during the season who want to share the beautiful views and wildlife that the Glen has to offer.
The space
Situated at the head of Loch Etive, Hollybank is the last house at the end of the road that leads down the glen. From the A82 it is a 13 mile drive along a single track road, passing through some of the most beautiful landscapes in Scotland. It is secluded, suiting those in search of peace, quiet and solitude. Being 20 miles from the nearest amenities in Glencoe and Ballachulish it is important to be well stocked before you arrive!
The house has been completely modernised from top to bottom and is now a wonderfully comfortable and modern home, while maintaining a traditional feel.
There is a bright and welcoming hallway leading on to a large double-aspect lounge with stunning views south down Loch Etive.
The kitchen / dining room is well stocked with everything required in the modern kitchen.
There are four bedrooms - two with a king-sized bed, one with double bed and one with two single beds, so Hollybank sleeps up to 8. All rooms have wonderful views of either the loch or the majestic mountains.
There are three bathrooms, and all towels and linen are provided.
Being suited especially to outdoor pursuits the house has laundry facilities, with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Pets are not allowed in the house but there is a kennel in the garden and dogs are welcome. The garden is fully enclosed and safe.
This is not a party house so please refrain from booking for parties.
Guest access
Guests who book Hollybank have exclusive use of the whole house.
Other things to note
For all guests, but winter guests especially, it is important to note that the house is in a remote part of the highlands. Ensure you have plenty of petrol (petrol stations are in Tyndrum, coming from the south and Glencoe Village, coming from the north) and plenty of provisions (the nearest supermarket is in Ballachulish, 20 miles away).
In the winter, a car with 4-wheel drive and winter tyres is a definite advantage!
In the summer Glen Etive is a popular visitor destination so be prepared to share the glen with others.
There is now satellite Wi-Fi in Hollybank. Speed is very good.
Each of the four bedrooms has a Television.
Hollybank has recently be upgraded with new furnishings, linen and towels.
