Parade House dates from the end of the Jacobite Rebellions and nestles in a unique, secluded location overlooking the gardens of the towns historic Parade. In 2016 the current owners, local couple Nicola and Jim McCallum, architect and artist, took on the task of turning this impressive but neglected office building back into a home from which they could run their business McCallum Art House. Renovation work to form their home continues in the main house but in addition to 'The Guest Room' they have also completed the space for their Art Gallery and furniture painting studio. Fort William’s bustling town centre with a variety of shops, restaurants and bars is literally on the doorstep. Private parking is available and just a short walk away are national transport connections. Staying in the comfort of 'The Guest Room' visitors will find themselves at the heart of all that the Scottish Highlands has to offer.

The Space
'The Guest Room', a self contained En-suite Bedroom, is located on the upper floor of Parade House, accessed through its own entrance door via an external staircase to the rear of the property. The entrance door opens directly into the guests self contained area. On entering, the hallway provides access to a well appointed shower room and also the spacious, thoughtfully furnished bedroom. In addition to the king sized bed, drawers and wardrobe there is an area furnished for relaxing. Although 'The Guest Room' is let on a room only basis there would be a welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, shortbread.... The Owner's have also provided a fridge, kettle, coffee machine and variety of glasses, crockery and cutlery so that guests are able to picnic on the abundance of fresh produce available in the immediate vicinity. The room is light and welcoming, and the Owner's artistic flair is evident throughout, from the art work on the walls to the repurposed furniture.

COVID-19
We are cleaning and sanitising The Guest Room in accordance with Government and Public Health guidance documents, and ensuring a minimum of 24 hours is maintained between bookings. Materials for hand washing, hand sanitising and for the cleaning and sanitising of surfaces within the accommodation are provided for use by Guests during their stay. We request that on entry to the accommodation Guests immediately remove outdoor footwear/outdoor clothing and leave these items on the hooks and shoe rack in the Entrance Hall, and then thoroughly wash their hands in the Ensuite before entering the Bedroom.

'The Guest Room' forms part of The Owners home but is completely self contained with its own external entrance, Contact Free check in/check out is implemented with the use of a key lock box. There are times when both Owners may not be around, on these occasions there would be the presence of a family member for emergencies and owner Nicola is always contactable by phone.

The Neighbourhood
Located in Fort William we are surrounded by impressive terrain, and in turn, have on our door step all that the outdoors has to offer. From skiing and downhill biking at Nevis Range and the mountain climbs, forest walks and bike tracks surrounding us to sailing, canoeing and kayaking on nearby lochs and rivers. For the less energetic we have in town a museum, library, distillery and a wide variety of cafes and shops, also a short drive away there are beautiful beaches, a gin school, an award winning contemporary Scottish art gallery and many historical monuments worth visiting. After returning from a days sightseeing, or adventure seeking maybe walk onto the High Street and relax at one of the bars or restaurants, many promoting locally sourced produce, and whilst eating, perhaps indulge in sampling a locally distilled gin, whiskey or local craft beer.

Getting Around
Parade house is just a 5 minute walk from Fort William Bus Terminal and Train Station. The West Coast rail line from Glasgow to Fort William is considered one of the most scenic journeys in the country. Whilst the Caledonian Sleeper provides a rail route from London Euston direct to our door, a popular way to reach the heart of the Highlands from the UK's capital. If arriving in Fort William without a car there is a regular local bus service, with direct bus routes to Oban, Mallaig, Inverness, Skye and Glasgow via Glasgow airport. But to get the most out of visiting Fort William, and the surrounding area, having an independent mode of transport is beneficial. If needed, there's car and bike hire available locally.

Or, if you want to get away from it all simply chill out and relax in the comfort of the cabin and enjoy the abundant wildlife. Perfect for those romantic getaways! There is an open connected decking area round three sides of the cabin from which to enjoy relaxing evenings watching the sunsets.

Local attractions include Ben Nevis, Neptunes staircase (the start of the Caledonian Canal), Glenfinnan viaduct, Jacobite Steam Train (better known now as Hogwarts Express from the Harry Potter movies), Glen Coe with its stunning scenery and many famous Munro s, Loch Ness and Nevis Distillery. The road to the Isles is on the opposite side of Loch Eil and is a beautiful scenic route to Mallaig from where you can sail to Skye and the Western Isles. You will pass the renowned White Sands of Morar- one of the best beaches on the West Coast and well worth a visit. Ardnamurchan Peninsula is not to be missed with its abundant wildlife, crystal clear waters and outstanding beauty, terminating at the Lighthouse which is the most westerly point on the U.K. mainland.

The Cabin sleeps 6 people, comprising of one extra large double bedroom with French doors leading on to the decking with the addition of a discrete single bunk and sofa bed to convert to a family room. The second bedroom is a cosy double bedroom, both bedrooms have very large built in wardrobes to store your cases and clothing. Bathroom with bath, shower, WC, and basin, heated towel rail and electric shaving point. Well equipped modern kitchen with induction hob, fan assisted oven, sink, microwave, washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, fridge/freezer. The kitchen leads through to the open plan dining area and comfortable lounge, which has TV/DVD with Free View channels (plus radio channels), music system including ipod dock, luxury leather suite and open views to the Loch at the front and surrounding hills and woodland from all the windows. Heating is provided by electric wall panels throughout but for those romantic chilly winter evenings there is a very efficient wood burning stove. The area surrounding the cabin is enclosed by fencing with parking area within. Free Wi-Fi is also included.

A warm and cosy lodge for up to 6 people, nestled away in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Inverskilavulin Estate is located just outside of Fort William in Glenloy at the foot of Beinn Bhan corbett with spectacular views on Ben Nevis. We have 3 beautiful lodges available for rent all year round (this lodge which sleeps 6, and 2 other chalets up to 4 people). We are solar panelled and all our water comes from Beinn Bhan corbett on the estate.

My stylish, ground-floor apartment with an off-street parking space is located in a secluded side street with no through traffic, only 5 minutes’ walk from Fort William High Street. It is in an elevated position above the south-west end of the High Street, overlooking Loch Linnhe and the hills beyond.

It’s ideal as a base for everything from romantic getaways to outdoor exploits. It is immaculately and luxuriously decorated throughout in a modern, understated style with a subtle Scottish theme.

Bedroom:
The bedroom sleeps 2 and is sumptuously appointed around a superking bed. The bed can also be split into two singles, just let me know which you would prefer when you book. The view from the bedroom window looks across to Loch Linnhe. There is also a 22" HD TV with Freesat receiver in case you find it challenging to leave the comfort of the bed.

Living room:
The large, elegant living room has a comfortable two-seater sofa and armchair in front of an electric fire. The sofa can be converted to a double bed and has a memory-foam mattress. There is a 40" Ultra HD TV with Freesat recorder and a Blu-Ray/DVD player. A dining table and 3 chairs are set to one side. A selection of books and local guides is provided for your visit.

Kitchen:
The fully-fitted kitchen is equipped with all the crockery and equipment you are likely to need during your stay, including kettle, Nespresso pod machine, toaster, oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher.

Bathroom:
The modern bathroom has a double-width walk-in shower with rainfall head and a heated towel rail.

Facilities:
Central heating and hot water are supplied by a combi-boiler and can be set to a temperature of your choosing.
There is a cupboard off the hallway containing a washer-dryer.

Terrace:
There is a small patio with table and chairs and views to Loch Linnhe which you are welcome to use when the weather permits. At the back of the patio is a padlocked shed which you can use for storing equipment such as bikes and skis.

I take your good health extremely seriously and I am following enhanced cleaning protocols in line with recommendations from reputable sources such as the Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). Following are a few highlights:

I wear protective gear during cleaning to help prevent cross-contamination.

I clean and then sanitise each room against the covid-19 virus, following comprehensive checklists which I have developed specifically for my apartment.

I have carried out extensive research into the most appropriate cleaners and sanitisers. I use products certified to BS EN14476 (effective against viruses, including SARS-CoV-2 which causes the respiratory illness covid-19) and BS EN1276 (effective against bacteria).

I provide extra cleaning supplies, including the above products effective against the covid-19 virus, to allow you to clean and sanitise during your stay if you wish to.

I comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines.

Situated on the edge of Fort William, along a quiet single track road, Ben Nevis Pod offers a peaceful retreat while being conveniently close to the amenities and attractions of Fort William. Just a 10 minute drive from Fort William town centre, where there are plenty places to eat, and pubs open til late. The pod is in an ideal location for exploring the Highlands and West Coast of Scotland. Lochaber is known as the ‘Outdoor Capital of the UK’ and the breathtaking scenery has been used as the backdrop for many famous films including Braveheart, Rob Roy and Harry Potter. The West Highland steam train, Nevis Range gondola and a variety of boat trips make great days out. A short ferry crossing from Corran will take you to the Ardnamurchan Peninsula or follow the famous Road to the Isles. There are plenty of famous castles, beautiful gardens, historic sites and museums to visit. For the energetic, outdoor activities include skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, climbing, fishing, sailing, kayaking and golf. Wildlife is abundant and golden eagles, deer, otters and dolphins are often seen. Glencoe, Oban, Loch Ness and the Isle of Skye are easily accessible. Beach 1½ miles. Pub and restaurant ¾ mile.

My house is in Upper Achintore, up the hill from the centre of Fort William, and has views across to the Ardgour hills from the front of the house.

This is a good base for any walkers or climbers wishing to stay in the area: the location is ideal for getting out on the Ben, in Glencoe and surrounding areas, and I have a very effective drying room which guests can use. This would also make a good base for any solo travellers.

The space
The guest bedroom contains a single bed, two-drawer bedside cabinet, bedside light, wardrobe with three drawers, towels, hair dryer, toiletries, spare pillow and two spare blankets.

Guests will have shared use of two bathrooms (one with a bath, one with a shower), living room, kitchen and laundry/drying room.

The living room is cosy and has a TV, DVD player and large selection of climbing and travel books and maps.

The kitchen is nice and bright and is fully equipped. There will be cupboard, fridge and freezer space for guests.

The laundry/drying room contains a washing machine and racks for wet outdoor kit including boots, ropes and climbing hardwear. There is a dehumidifier and heater and the room is a very efficient drying room.

We'd love to welcome you to our home. We live up the hill overlooking Loch Linnhe, less than 10 minutes' walk from Fort William town centre, with its bars, restaurants & shops, or you can walk straight up into the hills behind the house. We can offer advice on local walks and are just over 5 minutes from the local climbing wall.

The space
We offer a single room with wifi and tea/coffee making facilities. This room has a large chest of drawers and hanging space for clothes.

The bathroom is shared with us and has a good shower.

We also have a sunny (weather permitting!) south-facing garden space with bench overlooking Loch Linnhe and the mountains beyond.

This is a very small single room located in the attic, therefore limited head space due to slopping ceiling, so it is possible to only stand in the centre of the room.

Situated 5 minutes walk from the Caledonian Canal and Neptunes Staircase, yet only 10 minutes drive from Fort William Town Centre. Banavie train station in a 5 minute walk away where the famous Jacobite steam train can be seen daily.My home is ideally situated for your visit to the Highlands and its many attractions.

We have one single bedroom with shared bathroom . Room has been tastefully furnished to the highest of standard with lots of added extras to make your stay most comfortable. Fridge and microwave included in the room.

The town centre is a 20 min walk DOWN HILL where you will find lots of shops, bars and restaurants. You may want to get a taxi or bus N46 or N47 back up (bus stop next to house)
The access to the cow hill circuit is right behind our house, from there you can walk into Glen Nevis then on to Ben Nevis.

Room 3 is a bright modern double room with en-suite, tea, coffee & biscuits.

As this is room only en-suite, guest will have a front door key and room key. The rest of the house is private.

Your bedroom is upstairs with great elevated views down the Loch to the Corpach hills. As you can see from the picture the room has a double bed, sofa, drawers and hooks for hanging clothing on the back of the door. The TV shows Amazon TV and there is a hairdryer in the drawer.

You have a private fresh and modern guest shower room. Please note this is not an ensuite.

You have access to the communal modern open plan living room with kitchen. We have another room available for airbnb.

There are 2 sofas in the living room and there is a TV with Amazon TV.

The kitchen has a fridge, combined microwave/oven/grill and induction hob. The table sits 4 or can be extended to sit 6.

Having superb views along Loch Linnhe and beyond the Ardgour hills to Loch Eil, just walking the 10 minutes into town is spectacular in itself. Another 10 minute walk in the opposite direction brings you to possibly the finest view of Ben Nevis from anywhere.

The space
"Camdale" is situated on the west end of Fort William, a 10 - 15 minute walk down the hill into the town centre offers great restaurants and bars to tickle all taste buds.

The walk back up the hill may take a little longer!, but there are some lovely views across Loch Linnhe to stop and gaze at while you get your breath. Or why not take a local taxi for about £10 each way.

Guest access
If walking from the train or bus station, please be aware the house is situated up a fairly steep hill. Taxis are available from the stations and will cost about £10-£15.

Off road car parking is available on site.

Please note that there are 15 steps up to the entrance door
