Pets are welcome and free of charge. There are some terrific walks around the house and many just a short drive from the house. For adults and dogs who like a swim or paddleboard, you can access the loch through a gate across the road.

Towards Dunoon the botanical gardens at Benmore offer many rare species of trees and shrubs, including giant redwoods! Only a 12 minute walk around Loch Long you can relax with the locals in Ben Arthur’s Bothy, a local pub where your dog is also welcome or dine out at The Slanj, a great local restaurant. A short ferry ride can also be taken from Tarbet across Loch Lomond to conquer Ben Lomond !

Unfortunately the weather was not favourable for our week but the on site games room and spa as well as stock of board games meant we did not get bored. Doug has catered really well for groups. The covered outside gas fire shelter is a fab location for an evening catching up. Loch side fire pit was excellent and lots of parking. Ample storage. Lovely set up for dining in the conservatory which is beautiful all weathers. Kitchen had all that we needed and the extra store with kitchen roll/extra toiletries/cleaning materials just meant we needed to worry about food. Altogether a fabulous set up for large family or extended families like ours. It was the hilight of our trip back from Australia. MF the property manager was excellent and really helpful on site. I would recommend this and hope to stay again when we are next back in Scotland."

We were very warmly welcomed with surprise goodies, and very clear instructions to finding the appartment and the private parking space next to it. The appartment has absolutely everything you could need in a holiday home. The local shop is within 2 minutes walking distance and has all basics you need. The only very minor downside for us was that it's dog-friendly and a little bit humid (although the dehumidifier helps a lot!), which wasn't ideal for our allergic and asthmatic daughter. We would still come back as it was a truly wonderful experience!"

The living area is open plan with wide open views with un-interrupted views onto Loch Lomond and beyond.

You are able to bring your own boat and/or jetski. There is an additional charge of £25 per week or part thereof. Boat/jetski are not permitted to be parked alongside our lodge overnight, but are parked in the parks secure boatyard. Full details will be provided or ask me before booking.
Another note is that all motorised craft must be registered with the Loch Lomond Park Authority before launch, please ask for details. This can be done online but will require doing so before your stay.

The first with a double bed and the second bedroom, through the double bedroom, has a zip and link super king which can also be set up as 2 singles on request. The bedroom with a double does not have an ensuite but could use the bathroom at the bottom of the stairs if separate bathrooms are required.
If requested we may be able to lock the door between these 2 bedrooms and access to the super king bedroom can be from the fitted patio doors instead if preferred.

The cottage is spacious is a short walk to the famous great outdoors, landscapes and walks Arrochar town has to offer.

- "Everything was just as advertised. Wonderful stay. Comfortable, clean, and spacious. You will have no issues staying here! We had 8 in our group. We all had plenty room!" - "Beautiful place to stay while we toured the highlands and surrounding area. Short walk to Loch Long. House was stocked with towels but there wasn't shampoo or bar soap for shower so bring your own. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking our meals. There wasn't extra garbage bags for the large garbage can in the kitchen. The swing out back broke in half while a little 5yr old girl was swinging on it. Fortunately she wasn't hurt but it shouldn't have been left in that condition if someone was going to use it. I emailed the owner immediately after it happened but never did hear back from them. The neighbors told us they've been worried about the swing for a year and even warned the owner that it was unsafe. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was nice and clean. I was actually quite impressed with the quality of sleep I got while there. Even with some of the mishaps I would still stay there again and would recommend it to others."

Lomond Brae cottage is a fantastic newly renovated 3 bedroom cottage nestled on the hillside in Tarbet beside Loch Lomond with a large garden and beautiful open views across to Ben Lomond and down Loch Lomond. Sitting in the heart of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park a beautiful holiday home with a stunning feature picture window just a short walk from Loch Lomond and offering modern home comforts surrounded by mountains, forests and lochs. There is access to many outdoor pursuits from the door-step with walking routes, cycling routes and boat trips on the loch available. Tarbet pier is just a 3 minute walk, Tarbet has a mainline train station with routes to Glasgow, London & Highlands. 45 mins from Glasgow Airport and 1 hr 30 from Edinburgh by car.

Be it on the hot tub (outside) or just sitting on rattan sofa ( next to the sea) and a place in the decking area to enjoy your morning or evening tea, you will get the chance to enjoy the different colors of the nature.
Other things to note
Please be wise with water, though we have enough water for your stay still we would like to remind you that the water supply is coming straight from the the water stream so with the seasons its flow also changes. Do not use the shower at the same time in multiple bathrooms that will help you from running out of water. Incase if it ran of than it will get filled however may take longer time than you expected. Save water and it will help to make your stay pleasant.

Ardgartan Argyll is the perfect base for a Scottish walking holiday, from a gentle lochside stroll which begins at your cottage door to more strenuous hikes within the Argyll Forest Park. Surrounding our cottage are the Arrochar Alps, a glorious mountain range where you can bag as many as 5 Munros. Further afield, explore Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park with beautiful walks and more challenging climbs.

Scottish cycling trails
There are miles and miles of cycling routes surrounding our cottages at Ardgartan Argyll. Cycle round lochs, through woods and on mountains. Enjoy long pleasurable trips, with a picnic or a pub stop, or take your mountain bike, up and down glens, with arduous climbs and sweeping descents.

Family days out
Take a day out to the elegant seaside resort of Helensburgh and visit The Hill House, a Charles Rennie Mackintosh masterpiece. For history of another kind, the kids will love the famous Inveraray Jail for a taste of life “inside” in the 19th Century and Inveraray Castle for an insight into Scotland’s clans and their colourful, often bloodthirsty, history. More up to date fun can be found at Go Ape in Aberfoyle or the Sealife Sanctuary at Loch Lomond.

Castles, Museums and Gardens
No stay in Argyll would be complete without visiting Inveraray and its stunning castle. The ancestral seat of the Duke of Argyll, chief of the Clan Campbell, the castle is still the family’s home today. Visit too, the nearby Ardkinglas Woodland Gardens, set on the shores of Loch Fyne against a spectacular mountain backdrop. Explore Auchindrain – the most well-preserved example of a Highland Farm township or head further afield to Dunoon, for a fascinating day out at the Castle House Museum.

Our local is the Village Inn at Arrochar, where you can enjoy freshly cooked food, local ales and a large garden for those sunny days. For a more refined treat, head north to the Loch Fyne Restaurant and Oyster Bar, where you will be eating oysters fresh from the loch that the restaurant overlooks.

Towns and villages
Inveraray is not to be missed; climb Dun Na Cuaiche for the spellbinding vista of the village and castle below. For a seaside trip, visit Helensburgh, which has great shopping and The Hill House, an architectural gem by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, one of the finest private houses ever built. Closer to your cottage, spend a lazy afternoon village-hopping around the lochs, discovering Ardentinny, tucked away on the edge of Loch Long or Lochgoilhead, with its spectacular mountain and loch views. The pretty conservation village of Luss is also under 20 minutes away.

A short drive away is Loch Lomond, Scotland’s largest freshwater loch, best enjoyed from the deck of a Loch Lomond cruise boat. For a peaceful afternoon that gives you a unique view of the Scottish landscape, take a boat out on Loch Lomond or Loch Goil. Head north to Loch Fyne, for spectacular views, Inveraray town and castle, and local oysters. This is just a tiny selection of the lochs you can enjoy in this rugged landscape.

Climbers looking to tackle the nearby mountains of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, including the popular Ben Arthur (also known as the Cobbler), have made this area their base of operations. Located about a mile and a half west of Tarbet on the shores of Loch Lomond, Arrochar is home to a wide variety of retail establishments, dining options, and watering holes. The two communities also share a train station near the valley's highest point. Activities abound in Loch Lomond, Britain's largest expanse of inland water. Take a leisurely stroll through Balloch Castle Country Park or Queen Elizabeth Forest Park and you'll be led past picturesque lochside villages and sandy bays; alternatively, the mountains provide strenuous walks and climbs for the more adventurous traveler. Helensburgh, a nearby town with wide streets, is perfect for a day trip with the kids.
