Other things to note
Perfect for a short break or an extended stay, the Wee Cottage is only seconds away from the Western Ferry to Dunoon, Argyll and the Highlands, and 25 minutes from Glasgow airport, so it's an ideal place to break your journey before heading North.

Although we are on the coast road the Wee Cottage is fully double glazed and air conditioned and parking is available in your private driveway.

If you are planning an extended stay we can arrange access to the separate laundry and there is an iron and ironing board in the Wee Cottage.

Communication with our host Kevin leading up to our stay was brilliant, we didn’t require anything whilst we were staying (the cottage is very well equipped) but I’m sure if it did it would have been arranged very quickly and Kevin passed on his number if we needed to get in touch quickly (Kevin & Catherine also live next door, so not far away if needed!!) It was myself, my husband and our 2 children (ages 6 & 9) who stayed at the cottage (and our dog Mabel) there is a nice double bedroom upstairs which the children had and we slept on the double bed settee downstairs. The cottage is lovely but it is quite small (which we were aware of) we used it mainly as a base to explore the area. The views from the cottage are AMAZING!! And it was nice to sit out in the evening, the only slight downside being the busy road, our kids know not to go on the road, but might be a concern for families with younger children! We also had to have the dog constantly on her lead if outside with us or if we had the door open, again I knew this from pictures before I booked, so it wasn’t a surprise. There’s a gorgeous beach with a park (which Kevin told us about) a 5 min drive away, we also went to Largs which the kids loved and also over to Bute on the ferry - Glasgow is also only an hour away!! The coastal town of Gourock, located on the south side of the end of the River Clyde is one of those places that if you know about it then you’ll love it.
Stunning coastal scenery with the beautiful everchanging hills of Argyll across the water and excellent links to explore Argyll and the West Coast, Largs and Troon and Ayrshire and a 30-minute drive from Scotland’s Largest City, Glasgow. The Loft is very well located just outside the town centre, just a few minutes’ walk and located on the top floor of the building it offers some amazing views along the river to the east and west and the sunset across the hills over the river is simply breath-taking!
While the apartment is on the top floor, the building is accessed from first floor level at the rear of the building with one flight of stairs leading to the apartment. Internally the accommodation is bright, spacious and has been well finished with the comfort and experience of the guest in mind. At the front the living room has a window seat designed to take full advantage of that amazing view. There are two bedrooms. The smaller of the two is perfect for a couple and has a comfortable king size bed and again being at the front it takes advantage of the scenery. The second bedroom, the larger of the two is more suited to the rest of the family having been fitted with a single bed and a set bunk with a double on the bottom and single on the top. The kitchen has all you will need to keep all fuelled.
When you’re out and about you’ll notice how easy it is to jump on one of the local ferries across to either Dunoon or Kilcreggan and enjoy a day’s exploring either by car or walking the hills. The drive along the coastal road to west and south towards Ayr is worth taking. Of course, a stop in Largs for ice cream is a must, no matter what the time of year!
