We want to be fully transparent to ensure your comfort: the ceilings in the sleeping area, kitchen, and bathroom are 6'4". For most guests, this hasn't been an issue, but if ceiling height is a concern for you, we completely understand and want you to feel confident in choosing the right space for your stay.

That said, if you’re drawn to the idea of a tiny cabin experience—cozy, stylish, and full of thoughtful touches—we think you'll find this space incredibly special. The cabin sits at the end of a short dirt road, offering added privacy. Guests are welcome to park in the dirt area just outside the fence or pull inside to park on the concrete pad directly in front of the cabin.

~ For your convenience, we provide a starter kit with essentials like paper products, laundry and dish detergent, and trash bags. If you need more, nearby stores have plenty of options.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. This 18th century log home is a country side dream. The cabin comes with access to the whole of the gardens.

This is an authentic 200+ year old cabin with a few updates. She’s rough around the edges but full of charm. ‘Pristine’ and ‘luxury’ are not in her bones. The smell of decades use of fireplace and hand-hewn timbers make this old cabin a unique place to relax.

The space
The cabin is secluded and peaceful. Setting back in the garden, you will have a great quiet and private stay to relax and spend time with your loved ones.

Guest access
You will park along the gravel driveway on 201 E. Front Street. The cabin is another 100 feet into the property. You will have full access to Tramy Gardens.

The log cabin located behind Wanderer's Rest is private property (and is unstable). You are welcome to explore the pathways behind Wanderer's Rest, but that structure is off limits and not owned by Tramy Gardens.

Other things to note
This is a wooded garden setting with water features. Mosquitos and poison ivy and the potential for other critters (deer, rabbits, snakes, etc) are all possible. Wild fruit, berries, and mushrooms grow on the property as well - we strongly discourage eating anything you are not 100% sure about. Some plants and berries on the property are hazardous.

The cabin is a restoration and renovation project still in the works. At over 200 years old, we ask that you treat Wanderer's Rest gently.

🍽 Make amazing meals. The dining room seats 6 and is located next to your fully stocked kitchen. You have everything you need to make coffee, tea, breakfast, lunch, happy hour and dinner. Service for 6 adults and 4 children including platters for family style meals at the table. The refrigerator has an ice maker but it’s always smart to bring an extra bag of ice.

🚿 There is a full bathroom with shower on the main level which is shared by two bedrooms, also located on the main floor.

👯 The first guest room contains 2 twin beds and space for an optional twin air bed (provided) along with a little play area for the kiddos.

🌿The second guest room comfortably sleeps 2 adults in a queen bed and has direct access to the shared porch where you’ll find your hammock just outside the door.

🧺 Please feel free to use the washing machine + dryer. We will leave a couple pods for you.

🧘🏾 Upstairs you will find the perfect space to retreat— the master suite with open sitting area perched above the living room is perfect for listening to records on the record player (vinyls provided). Watch out—pillows and blankies so soft n fuzzy you may just treat yourself to a snooze 😴

Blue Moon is the perfect lakeside accommodation for 4 adults and 2 small children, however, up to 6 adults are welcome. Read that again. I promise it makes sense. 😊

**Not suitable for more than 6 adults.** If you have 6 adults and wish to put two children on air mattresses there is an additional fee and permission is required in advance of check-in.

Each adult on property must be a registered guest. You will add each person to your reservation by inviting them via email through the Airbnb app.

👮‍♀️ Maximum of 3 cars at any time. There is NO STREET PARKING. You have 1 small parking place on gravel and a narrow driveway for 2 cars to park end to end. Additional cars are not permitted. They must park outside the neighborhood.

🚑 Blue Moon is a funky cabin so the terrain leading to, as well as surrounding is rough, rocky, dusty, sloped and all around hostile toward bum hips, high heels and any other mobility challenges. Please exercise caution when walking anywhere on property.

🤫 Check out the secret swing spot. Pick a seat and swing to your own beat. The view from down here is our favorite. (Located below deck!) Be careful getting down here as the ground is uneven consisting of dirt, gravel and pine straw. You’re in nature!

🛀 Outdoor showers are cool but ever take an outdoor soak? Near the swing spot you’ll find your outdoor soaker tub perfect for cooling off in the hotter months and warming up in the cooler ones. Light a tiki torch at night for extra vibes. All you’ll need is your favorite beverage and a towel. Theres a galvanised steel ice bucket on top of the fridge, perfect to fill with refreshments and two hooks for your towels near the tub.

⛺️ If you’re into glamping, venture a little further down the property toward the lake. Charcoal grill, fire pit, hammock, string lights, double kayak and loads of nature await. Feel free to bring your paddle board and rafts! You’re on the narrowest part of the lake here but it opens up big and deep as you paddle along.

Our property is located right along the banks of the gorgeous upper Cape Fear River and is also right in town. Lillington, North Carolina is a small, up-and-coming town that is centrally located to larger areas of interest. Lillington has restaurants, brewery, antique and gift shops, grocery and pharmacy stores, and is nearby other quaint towns such as Fuquay-Varina, Angier, and Sanford that offer so much opportunity to explore.

The space
The Cozy Heron Glamping resort is part of the Cape Fear River Adventures river activity center. The outfitter becomes very busy in the warmer months. You can expect to see lots of folks around the river if your stay occurs May-October. The Cozy Heron portion of the property has designated private areas for its guests, including the bath house.

We know the importance of knowing before you go- we are located IN the town limits of Lillington, which means that traffic noises and seeing other people throughout the day are part of your experience here at The Cozy Heron. Traffic noise dies off in the evening and overnight, but we definitely are not in the middle of nowhere.

Guest access
Hammocks and lawn are available for our guests' enjoyment. Stone patio, firepit, and grilling area are only for guests of the Cozy Heron. The bath house is only for guests of The Cozy Heron Glamping resort.
