Remote-controlled AC & Heat Wall Mount in kitchen and bedroom. Living room has TV with DVD player (some DVD's provided, but bring your favorites just in case). Streaming services and wi-fi are available but not guaranteed as reception can be patchy.

Kitchenette with basic cookware, dishes, and utensils. Appliances include an oven, stovetop, small refrigerator/freezer, and toaster. There is a cozy 2 person dinette table, perfect for breakfast and card/board games. Keurig coffee station with a couple of pods to start your morning off.

Bathroom with shower. Low-pressure hot and cold running water is available. Bath towels, hand towels, and wash cloths are provided, along with soap, body wash, and shampoo. Toilet paper and face tissue is provided.

Bedroom has comfortable Nectar mattress. Linens are provided.

Check-in is 4:00 PM, check-out is 11:00 AM. I'm happy to accommodate earlier check-in and later check-out as long as I don't have guests booked back-to-back.

- "My sister and I stayed here while traveling to a 5K event. We had never heard of this town before and were pleasantly surprised at this place. The cabin gives you the feeling of being out in the woods camping, yet it is secure which we appreciated as the guys didn't come along with us this time. It's on a large property close to downtown, but you'd never guess that while sitting on the front porch drinking your coffee. The little fridge holds much more than any hotel fridge we've ever dealt with (a case of bottled soda, two bottles of wine, 6 waters, and more food than we needed) and the bathroom is up-to-date and spotless (something we don't get camping)! We have no reason to go back to this town as we don't know anyone there but we are already planning a trip back just to check out the town a bit more....we'll bring our families with us next time. Can't wait to have a fire and cook hotdogs and smores out front and there is plenty of room for little ones to run around. There are a few more restaurants we'd like to check out there too. So glad we ended up here! The owners are quick to respond to questions also."

Log Cabin - This cabin sets on a little more than 3 acres of land overlooking a pond in the front and a field in the back. Located not far from the city but with the feel of the country. There is a covered front porch with two tables. In the back of the cabin is a small covered porch with gas grill. This cabin is fully furnished. It has a country kitchen that features an old style gas ceramic stove. There is a pantry that is stocked with spices and a washer and dryer room. There is a dining room that has a table that sits 6 - 8 people. In the living room is a stone fire place and mantle. There is a beautiful wooden architectural desk (this was our Uncle Marvin's design desk), a table with 4 chairs, bonded leather sofa with recliners, love seat with recliner and rocking recliner. TV, blue ray player, CD player, internet, cable. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms. The master bed room has a queen bed, night stand, dresser with mirror. Also in the master bedroom is a full sized bathroom with shower and walk in closet. The second bedroom has a queen bed with closet, dresser, lounge chair and small table and TV with Blueray/DVD . The third bedroom has a bunk bed. It also has an additional single bed. The loft has a rocking chair and lounge chair with ottoman for reading. Displayed on the wall is a beautiful quilt that was made by our great grandmother. The front porch features several tables and chairs for outdoor enjoyment. Outside there is a simple fire pit for roasting marshmallows by the pond. You are welcome to go fishing as long you clip the barb from your hook and throw the fish back. (Catch and Release)

Log Cabin at the end of a cul de sac, down a long private driveway. Quiet and remote feeling, but only 10 minutes to a small town and grocery stores. Relaxing large stone fireplace and Great Room. Screened front porch and large back deck over-looking a fire pit and former stable. You might spot the neighbor's long horn cattle, goats and pony, or the occasional coyote. Close to Campbell University. Stop at Sunni Sky's for 125+ flavors of ice cream.
I've had some areas of the yard freshly seeded Fall 2023 and its coming in nice and green. I've put the hammock for the new year. The neighbor's baby goats can be seen wandering their field. Sorry for the pollen, but its that time of the year. And you'll see a large number of wood bees too. Enjoy your stay!

- "Was in the area to raft but the weather changed out plans so we spent a lot of time at this beautiful piece of property. The pictures on the site do not give this gem in the woods justice at all. The decor inside was absolutely next level. All the rooms were well thought out with very unique pieces of furniture and art, it was fun to check out all of the rooms to see all of the furnishings. Each room had pieces that somehow topped the amazing pieces in the other room. The town has everything and then some to take care of any needs when staying here and the local people are very friendly and helpful. Bulls, goats and turkeys came up to the fence next door to be petted so this was an added bonus. Todd is a great host. He was there to answer any questions promptly. Perfect for 2 couples or a family of 4. Highly recommend if you are looking for a place to unwind, relax and rejuvenate."

The Mountain Cabin in Town is extremely private offering plenty of privacy for your stay, while still offering shopping, dining, and activities just a short ways away.

The Mountain Cabin in Town has an outdoor pool that is open for use from April to Oct, weather and temperature permitting. The pool has a heater which keeps it warm early/late season and during any chilly evenings.

House Setup:
The Owl or Nothing accommodation features a master bedroom on the main downstairs level, equipped with a queen bed that can be used by guests with mobility impairments (however, please note that there are a few stairs at the front entry of the home). The main level also comprises a full bathroom, which is the only one available on this level. Moving upstairs, you will discover two more bedrooms with queen-size beds, two twin memory foam foldable beds (in one of the closets), and another full bathroom. Note: you can move the memory foam foldable beds to any area in the house.

The house is equipped with a keyless entry. You will be issued a personal code that expires upon checkout. Just enter the home and relax after your long journey. Please let me know if you would like me to meet you upon arrival!

Guests have access to the entire house and property. Driveway parking is uncovered and plentiful.

This home is owner-managed and cleaned with love. We respond fast, live locally, and make deep and meaningful connections with our guests while giving you all the privacy you desire.

No smoking in the home. As per Wake County short-term rental statutes, no parties are permitted. Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 8:30 am.

Wake up to light filtering through the leaves, enjoy your coffee on the private deck, and then work on your novel, study for the MCAT, or take in all that Durham/Chapel Hill has to offer. Guests enjoy a private, peaceful retreat in a one-room cabin with a private deck nestled among mature trees, Japanese maples and hellebores. The space feels remote and restorative, yet it is less than 2 miles to Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Caffe Driade (the greatest coffee/wine gem) and countless restaurants (Bar Taco, Hawkers, Kipos, Georgi to name a few!). It is minutes to the campus of UNC Chapel Hill and convenient to Duke and Durham as well. If you feel like staying in, prepare meals in the fully stocked kitchenette with dining area or order in from hundreds of Triangle restaurants. PLEASE NOTE: private bathroom and kitchen with separate keyed entrance is not in cabin, but steps away in walkout basement of main house. This space is totally private and only used by Magic Cabin guests.

Stunning Mystical retreat on over 10 acres in the forest but still minutes away from Chapel Hill, Hillsborough town and Durham. Originally the studio of a visual artist (long ago garden illustrator for The New York Times), this petite building is completely private. Firm queen bed. Mix of antiques and artisanal built-ins. Radiant heat. AC. Mini fridge and microwave, electric kettle, Chemex coffee maker and French Press, excellent wifi. Unique space in one of the best country neighborhoods around. 6.5 miles to Hillsborough healthy grocery store, 8 to Carrboro/Chapel Hill, 18 to Durham. Serene pond and grounds.

The space
For twenty years this studio was used for botanical and natural history illustration and life drawings. It was constructed by a gifted cabinet maker. The light is wonderful, the mood peaceful. Most of the art hanging on the walls was made here. Outside the french doors there is a sculptural brick wall built by the same cabinet maker. Mid twentieth century sculptures by a beloved great aunt. Short scenic drive to health-food/gourmet grocery store, or various restaurants run by award winning chefs.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to fish, canoe, swim, try the hammock in tiny one person shed overlooking the pond. Or just sit back in the chairs and gaze at the water, a timeless pleasure even on winter days here in North Carolina.

Other things to note
My husband Neil (retired science publisher, late-life artist!) and I spent 30 years creating our sanctuary. It is a pleasure seeing guests enjoy these peaceful grounds.
