The Deer Pod is one of two Pods. They are a luxuary timber frame structure and are situated on a area of our family farm that provides the best panoramic view of the rural countryside with rolling hills and green fields.

There is a patio area outside each Pod and green areas to sit and relax and take in the fresh air and peace and quiet

Each Pod is equipped with a kitchenette area with, mini fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, microwave, sink and necessary crockery and utensils

There is an en-suite facility with toilet, sink and shower.

Our family farm is situated near the local village of Kilbane with a rural pub. The next nearest village is Broadford 5km drive, with two Pubs and a local shop the "Country Store" that has a restaurant, bakery and shop.

Our nearest town is the picturesque town of Killaloe which lies on the River Shannon on the western bank of Lough Derg and is connected by bridge to the "twin town" of Ballina on the eastern bank of the lake.

The village of Kilbane is nestled under the Slieve Bearnagh Mountains that encompass many of the East Clare Walking Trails. The East Clare Way is a 180km circular walking route that winds its way through the wildest part of the region while touching on its many villages.

Bear in mind that this location has no public transports to the property and is advised to has a private vehicle to get to it.

The Lake Lodge is a lovely bright, fresh home with very comfortable furnishings so you can really sit back and relax during your stay.It is a bungalow, so all rooms are on the same level.Although not adapted for wheelchair users, if needed, a wheelchair would be able to access all areas of the house.The living area is all open plan and encompasses the kitchen, dining and sitting room areas.The kitchen has everything you will need during your stay including dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine.There are a couple of seats at the counter which doubles as a breakfast bar.The dining area has seating for six people and offers wonderful views to the lake beyond.

The sitting room is warm, inviting and cosy and has both TV and a welcoming wood burning stove (wood will be supplied for you).

There are three bedrooms – one twin room and two king sized bedrooms.There is one family bathroom with a step in shower. Patio doors lead from the living area outside to the patio area with furniture and BBQ where you can sit out and enjoy the long summer evenings in this peaceful lakeside location.There is parking by the patio and there is a fully enclosed area with artificial grass for kids to play in. If you have guests joining you for a night or two, the sofa in the living room converts into a bed which is suitable only for two children though.

MEALS AVAILABLE TO ORDER IN ADVANCE There is a local company that can provide pre-prepared meals direct to The Lake Lodge during your stay. This needs to be pre-arranged in advance of your stay. Please enquire with Dream Ireland or with the owner directly if within 6 weeks prior to arrival.

Less than a 10 minute drive from The Lake Lodge is Derg Isle activity centre which is jam-packed full of great things to do for families including kayaking, paddleboarding, climbing wall, obstacle course, archery and lake boat hire.
The lake based inflatable water park Aqua Splash is located just a 40 minute drive from The Lake Lodge. It's a brilliant fun day our with the kids. You can also hire kayaks and Pedal Boats or even try your hand at SUP Boards!
