Every year we made some changes in order to have a better and higher quality stay.
Our pool is salted, which means that we won't use chlorine, so the pool is totally ecological. We made also the pool heated for the colder months of the season (Spring and Autumn). 2 new big wooden sunbeds and a perfect for relaxing nest are provided to you.
We brought even closer nature to you and your table with more fruits and vegetables from our garden and fresh eggs from a new small hennery a few meters away from the Cottage.
The design of the outdoor space was based on plants that grow at the area , as well as on local building materials. The only thing you need to do is to care about our plants.

His booklet full of recommendations was really useful as well, we did/saw/ate lots that we wouldn’t have known about without it. The photos don’t do the villa justice, it’s very private and the flowers and bell tower and mountains in the distance make the most beautiful peaceful surroundings. The pool was wonderful, big enough for a proper swim - we also enjoyed the occasional visits from the many local cats! Romantic Evas Cottage is located in Gouves, just a 15-minute walk from Gouves Beach and 2.6 miles from Cretaquarium Thalassocosmos. Villa Oreastro Guest House is a purpose built traditional stone cottage in the Apokoronas region of the Chania prefecture. The house aimed at couples and is finished and equipped to a very high standard. The traditional stone walls and arches, stone floors and terraces, and beamed ceilings all contribute to a rustic Cretan feel.

Tucked away in an olive grove, in approximately 2 acres of land, it has its own private garden and a spacious roof terrace with panoramic views over the White Mountains and nearby Kefalas. Kefalas is a traditional village with all the essential amenities, including 2 supermarkets, kafeneions, tavernas, and a cheese factory about a 10-minute walk away. The bustling village of Vamos is about 6km away.

There are numerous blue flag beaches within easy reach (15-20 minutes by car). The most spectacular of all (and also our 'local') is Octopus Bay, approximately 6km. Not a beach as such, but more like a spectacular plunge pool in the sea, excellent for snorkeling and similar activities.
Walking trails with incredible views, historic landmarks and beautiful scenery crisscross the area.

The guest house is ideal for couples who wish to escape hectic city life and enjoy the fresh air and beautiful views in a relaxing, peaceful rural setting. It is a perfect location for exploring the Apokoronas region of Chania, Central, and Western Crete, or simply lazing about!

The Venetian towns of Chania and Rethymno are each about 35 minutes by car. Kefalas provides easy access to the wide range of attractions Western Crete has to offer, including Samaria Gorge, Gramvousa, Balos, Elafonisi, Lake Kournas, Aptera, and Falasarna. Heraklion (and Knossos) is approximately 2 hours by car. South coast locations such as Paleachora, Sougia, Loutro, Plakias, Damnoni, Agia Galini, and even as far as Matala can all be reached on a day trip
We provide our guests with a map of local attractions, and also numerous guides and booklets of ideas for walks and places to visit, so don't worry if you arrive without any firm ideas of what you'd like to do during your stay. You certainly won't be bored!

Closer to base, you'll find some delightful local towns and villages such as Vamos, Vryses, Georgiopoli, Almyrida, Kalyves and many more. There are some excellent beaches, and archaeological attractions. With our local knowledge, we can provide you with details of off-the-beaten track places to visit, walks, and excursions.
As owners, we live here year-round and keep a number of animals, including cats, dogs, and a number of hens and 2 sheep!

Back to the house: The house (indoor space) itself is 50 square meters in size. French doors from the lounge and bedroom lead to a ground floor terrace of approximately 30 square meters. The roof terrace can be reached by an external stone staircase, offering a further 50 square meters of living space.

Lounge
The lounge is open-plan to the kitchen, linked by a traditional stone arch. Here, you will find comfortable seating in the form of a single French daybed, which can also be used to sleep an additional person during the summer months. A wood-burning stove provides warmth and cooking facilities during cooler months. French doors lead to the downstairs terrace and garden.

Kitchen
The kitchen is compact, but with all the essentials:

dining table and two chairs
refrigerator with a freezer compartment
integrated gas hob with 2 cooking rings
oven (as part of the wood-burning stove)
set of pots and pans, casserole dishes
coffee and tea making equipment

Bedroom
The bedroom features exposed stone walls and French doors leading onto the terrace. Insect screens throughout the house ensure that you won't be disturbed by mosquitoes. A ceiling fan allows for efficient circulation of air to keep you comfortable.

We know very well that an uncomfortable bed can spoil a great holiday. Therefore, we have opted for a king size (5 foot) bed with orthopedic mattress and fine luxurious French linen bedding - ensuring a comfortable night's sleep.

The wardrobe has both hanging space (with hangers) and shelves / drawers, with an additional chest of drawers providing extra space.

Bedding & Towels
Luxury bedding is provided to suit the climate at the time of your visit. This includes French linen bedding, silk / cotton duvet, and a selection of natural pillows. We give you a choice of soft to firm pillows, all from natural materials, as well as quilts, blankets, and throws for every season. You might find yourself lingering in bed just a bit longer than you had intended.

We provide luxury light-weight towels. If you prefer traditional towels, these can be provided.

In the bathroom:
The bathroom is beautifully finished to a very high standard. It is equipped with a drench shower and also a hand-held attachment, sink and toilet. We supply shampoo, shower gel, and hand-wash liquid, which you are welcome to use. A hair dryer is also provided.

Access to the house
The house is completely detached and separate from the main house, with its own private front door entrance and two sets of French doors leading to a private back garden. The house has its own dedicated parking space.

Garden & Terraces
The garden terrace (reached through the lounge or bedroom) has a dining space, an outdoor shower, a pergola and various olive trees, providing welcome shade. The garden area includes some new fruit trees, herbs, grasses and flowers, with a carpet of cool ground cover. A BBQ grill is available for outdoor cooking during spring and autumn.

A stone staircase leads to the roof terrace where you'll find a further pergola, a dining table and chairs, and also reclining chairs. With its spectacular panoramic views over the White Mountains, Kefalas village and Psiloritis in the East, it is popular with guests for yoga (2 mats are provided), sunbathing, stargazing, watching sunrise and sunset, romantic dinners, and generally lazing about.

Sunbeds are not provided; however, you may wish to use the very comfortable reclining chairs instead. The terraces are sufficiently private enough for sunbathing.

Ambient lighting ensures that you can also enjoy the outdoor space at night.

Heating, Air Conditioning & Hot Water:
Heating, when required, is provided by a wood-burning stove which has sufficient capacity to warm the entire house. Ceiling fans provide efficient ventilation during the summer months.
The house has its own independent hot water supply. In winter months, hot water is provided by a gas boiler, so you can always be assured of a steaming hot shower every day. We're off grid! Electricity is supplied by the autonomous photo-voltaic system, installed at the main house.

Insect Nets
All windows and doors are equipped with insect nets to ensure maximum fresh air and ventilation, without being troubled by mosquitoes and other insects. Some windows are also fitted with security bars, so they may be left open day and night, whether you are in or out.

Laundry
The house has its own washing machine. It is simple to operate. A washing line is available on the upstairs terrace. An electric iron and ironing board are available for use by guests. Coat hangers are provided in the wardrobe.

Technology
Being a holiday home, we try to ensure that you have the essentials to enjoy your holiday:

A 4G Pocket WiFi device is available for internet access.
A Bluetooth speaker to listen to music from compatible devices (e.g smart phone).
There are 3 USB mains electricity charge points in the house for mobile phones and other electronic equipment.
There is no television in the house

Safety
For your safety and our peace of mind, the house is equipped with a carbon monoxide and smoke detector. A fire extinguisher, fire blanket, and first aid kit are also supplied.

Children
Although the house is primarily aimed at couples, we can accommodate a child. A baby travel cot, bedding, booster seat, playpen, and toys can be made available, as well as child-friendly dinnerware.

The house is not really suitable for busy toddlers! The house does not conform to all the safety standards that you may wish for a young child. Please note that, should you bring a young child with you, you do so entirely at your own risk, and you must inform us at the time of booking. There is a small additional charge for a child

Check-in / Check-out
Check-in is normally from 3 pm and check-out by 11am. However, we are happy to accommodate deviations from these times within reason, should bookings permit.

50 ft. from the waterline a small flock of three separated cottages on a beautiful and safe plot of land. (Fenced) Few steps to the sea. Nicely brand new renovated 1 studio cottages with vaulted high ceiling, ca. 400 sq.ft. (about 37 square meters), large comfortable double bed (King size), separate sofa/bed, view to the sea, inside and outside eating area, built in brand new kitchen, separate windowed bathroom with marble tiling, Shower, sink, toilet. Studio room has full A/C. Private outside Gazebos with table and chairs, with unobstructed view to the sea. It would be hard to be closer to the sea or in a more relaxing spot with the soft sound of the waves around you. And it would be hard to find such a safe location far away from the big cities but still in short walking distance (ca. 650 ft, ca. 200m) of a friendly little fishing village with many original tavernas and cafes. A bus stop close.

You will have your private studio with seaview, a private outside area that is separated from the 2 other cottages with tall natural stone walls. Your outside area has an esting place, shade by a pergola as well as a private sunbathing platform with seaview directly by the sea!

You have an english and greek speaking host that lives a few miles away. she can organise for you e.g a rental car and is there for you regularly.

The cottages are located ca 100 meters from Plaka village, just a short walk along or behind Plaka Beach. Plaka has many taverns and cafés as well as a beach bar. On very rare occasions (2-3 times during the whole summer season) there is life music in one of the restaurants or beach bar that can be heard over the bay also in the cottages. It usually stops at 23.00

OUTDOOR LIVING SPACE (The real star)
>Fully covered, a lot more surface than indoor. Fits perfectly with all year round hot climate where indoor space is rather auxilliarly serving only cooking and sleeping.
>Main veranda on the ground floor taking up the whole cottage length. Covered with chestnut tree log pergola and bamboo panels. Built-in super-long deep sofa, perfect for afternoon naps or hot summer night sleeping under the starry sky. More than enough room for a 6 chair dinning table.
>Upper veranda above the indoor space taking up all of its footprint. Accessible from the main veranda through staircase. Also covered the same way as the main ground floor veranda but the sea view from there is absolutely breathtaking. The best place to enjoy morning coffee, swing on the hammock swing, drink afternoon aperitifs or listen to the sound of the sea amidst the quiet night.

GETTING AROUND
Our village is 60 km away from Heraklion airport & it is not accessible with public transportation.
Local bus stops in a previous village (Pyrgos) 16 km away, so a car is necessary.
The route from Heraklion passes through three villages of Heraklion prefecture: Archanes-Charakas-Paranimfoi and ends to Treis Ekklisies village. The last 4 km to the village is dirt road but it's flat and in a very good condition, suitable to be driven comfortably by a small conventional passenger car.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
-There is no cleaning service in between your stay. The house will be in perfect condition cleaningwise upon your arrival. There will also be available the house's full set of cleaning equipment (brooms, mops, detergents) so you can suit yourselves the same way you do in your own home.
-There will be 1 extra set of linen (sheets, towels etc) for every 2-3 days of stay.
-Village's grocery store is open from start of June till start of September. Outside this season groceries can be done on your way to Treis Ekklisies in the village of Harakas or Pyrgos where relatively large super markets are. The house is usually stocked with dry food, homegrown vegetables & fruit enough for 2-3 full days
-At least one beach tavern is open non stop from start of April till end of October. The other two open from start of May till end of September
-Due to the rugged landscape only one of the three cellphone signal providers in Greece (company name: COSMOTE) offers signal for cellphones. If (when you're in roaming mode) your national provider doesn't cooperate with COSMOTE, then your cellphone will be inactive. However communications can be made through the high speed internet available at the house. You can make phone calls via all internet VoIP services
-For hygienic reasons, there are no waste bins inside the village. There are two large containers at the village entrance. So put as many of your garbage as you can in the large garbage bags provided and when filled take a short 1 minute drive till the disposal containers.
-During August, there might be short temporary interruptions in water supply (2 or 3 total, non-consecutive days, one day at a time). The house is equipped with water reservoir capable to fill all water needs for 2 consecutive days. Dishes, toilet flushing, showers can be done as usual, only the water flow will have less preassure than normal

The beach studio KOLOKITHA is located in the first row 50 ft. from the waterline a small flock of three separated cottages on a beautiful and safe plot of land. (Fenced) Few steps to the sea. Nicely renovated 1 studio cottages with vaulted high ceiling, ca. 400 sq.ft. Astrikas is a small village with about 150 inhabitants. It is set amongst acres of olive groves at an altitude of 200 meters just southwest of the larger coastal town of Kolymbari. Astrikas is known for its Biolia Olive Oil factory, where organic and high quality olive oil is produced. The views from the grounds of the factory on the back side is over the enchanting landscape and the very interesting village of Rokka and its excavations (this needs to be seen, gorgeous!).

Kalyvitis is located in the southeastern part of Crete. It is an idyllic place between the olive fields surrounded by mountains with fragrant pine trees. In this greenery at only a 5 min. drive from the sea, we produce our own olive oil, goat cheese, red wine, honey and biological vegetables.
In our olive grove are two cottages. They are constructed for a life outside. But even when you enter inside, you will enjoy a warm atmosphere. There is a living room equipped with kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom, all decorated in a mix of Oriental and rural spheres.
