Charming traditional house which sits on a hill above the pretty villag of Karousades. There are magnificent sea and mountain views from the balcony, a great place to enjoy your morning coffee! The ground floor features a built-in kitchen and dining area plus a bathroom/shower. Wooden stairs lead to the spacious bed/living room on the first level which features a double bed and a settee and leads to the balcony.

The property includes a separate studio opposite which was recently refurbished and combined is ideal for 2 couples to share or a family to spread out. The studio has its own sleeping are, shower and kitchenette.

At the back of the studio is a large shady veranda and garden where one can ralax away from the midday heat or enjoy open air living in the evening. From the house it is just a 5 min walk to the village centre with bakery, pharmacy, tavernas and a supermarket. Karousades is a very traditional village and the residents are very friendly and helpful. We have often come home to find fresh vegtables or fruit on the door-step.
The property is under two miles from the peaceful sandy beach at Astrakiri where there are a 3 excellent restaurants with beautiful sea views.

Karousades is perfectly located to explore the North of the island. Whilst there is a bus service to Corfu town and local attractions you will get the most from your stay if you hire a car or scooter. There are local agencies for hiring vehicles in Rhoda and Acharavi or from the airport. Its best to book in advance in the high season as otherwise you coud miss out!

Corfu is also called the green island becaue of its extensive green olive groves which help to make the place feel cool and produces the tasty local olive oil. There are estimated to be well over three million olive trees being cultivated, covering roughly a third of the Island.

The north of Corfu is renowned for its beautiful sandy beaches. Hire a car or a scooter and take a tour of the North and its many magnificent beaches or go West to enjoy spectacular sunsets over the sea.

Walk down the hill to the village of Kavalaraina and you will immediately feel the village has changed little from the 1920's. The setting is peaceful, even more so of this little cottage which is tucked away and barely seen even from the centre of the village. The house is directed to south, with a magnificent view on to the Sea and the small bay of Agni between the green hills of the Landscape. The high-ceiling bedroom with the Skylight gives the guests space & comfort. Nausica house is a rare opportunity to experience real village life in such close proximity to the sea. The original stone oven (ognistra), the original chest of drawers, the crockery cabinet on the wall all give a bit of the history & offer sufficient comfort. Like the rest of the village, the views to Agni are interrupted. The fuchsia bougainvillea offers a bright contrast to the ocean blue. The cottage is only 400m walk to Agni bay & is ideal for couples wishing to explore the north east of Corfu & in particular walkers.
Please note that Nausica House is not suited to the less mobile as there are steps till the property and an indoor staircase.

- "This villa is in a great location, overlooking the lovely Kalami bay. We drove around north Corfu a bit during our stay and we really couldn't find anywhere as charming as this area. The villa is part of a larger complex (5-6 villas in total?). The complex has a very large pool and a large patio area, with fabulous views out to sea (we saw dolphins crossing the bay one night, fabulous). The complex is within easy walking distance of Kalami beach, local shops and restaurants (10 minutes walk max). The beach is great. Its not sandy, but its still easy to get into the sea, and the water is crystal clear so great for snorkelling. It also seemed to be more sheltered than other beaches on the island, and was stayed calm even when some other beaches on the island were a bit rough. There are other lovely swimming bays and great restaurants nearby (north and south) if you don't mind a short walk. The complex gets sun into relatively late into the evening, even though it's on the east side of the island. The host is very helpful... Jehanne responded immediately to all our questions/issues. The villa has 2 large balconies, overlooking the swimming pool and Kalami bay. Good showers. The bed mattresses were a bit too soft for my liking but still ok. The wi-fi was unreliable at times, but this seemed to be down to general internet issue on the island, rather than specific problems with the villa setup. Finally, suggest that the villa instructions are clearer on where to put the rubbish - needs to go in one of the public bins on the main road above the complex."

The 140 m2 semi detached cottage is ideal for families or up to 6 adults. It is fully air conditioned and includes:

Living room
Spacious, with lots of hand made decorating details and 2 dining tables that can be put together. Baby feeding chair can be provided ( just ask please).

Kitchen
Fully equipped and functional for those who enjoy cooking. There are plenty of cutlery, cooking utensils and appliances such as Nespresso and filter coffee machine ( for the perfect cup of coffee) , mixer, kettle, toaster, microwave.

Bathroom
Unusually big, with bathtub, washing machine, hairdryer and ironing board with iron.

Master bedroom
Double bed and many wardrobes for your clothes and belongings. There is also plenty of space for a baby cradle or extra bed if needed ( please just let me know). Favourite feature...a really old piece of furniture that belonged to my grandmother.

Bedroom 1
Features two single beds and possibility for extra bed as well. Beds can be joined.

Bedroom 2 :
With two single beds. This is the most colourful of the three, tastefully decorated.

Every room has a veranda overlooking the garden, so there is always a shadowy spot for you to relax! In the morning, you can enjoy your breakfast and coffee in the veranda with the view of the fabulous grape pergola and the colourful garden and at night you can sip a glass of wine while watching the sunset...
All linen and towels are provided ( and many more in stock) except the beach towels.

The barbeque area is also ideal to enjoy your meal or even a late drink after a long day at the beach where you feel like staying home , with the lights making a wonderful atmosphere.

The garden is full of plum, apricot, pear and cherry plum trees.Have you ever tasted a fruit directly from the tree? Well, you can have a grape on your way in or out of the house! Moreover, you can taste pure, bio groceries from our small garden and remember that tomatoes not only taste but also smell deliciously!

The garden is also a part of the house much appreciated by children as well! They can run, play, observe, eat, live a small adventure or just relax...

The house has protection net against the mosquitos in every door and window. There is also water tank in case of water shortage during the summertime in the area. Parking space for 2 cars is provided and the Wi Fi is fast and steady.

The Pergola Cottage is in the heart of a purely rural and natural environment, so there is a chance of meeting bugs or mosquitos while being oudoor. Please bring your mosquito lotions with you.

Check in time is after 4 o'clock in the afternoon and check out before 10 o clock in the morning.

My parents live also in a house at the back of the property, therefore the main entrance to the property is shared. Parking space and crossing the grape pergola are common too, so there is a chance of meeting them while going in and out of the cottage. There is also a chance of seeing them early in the morning watering the trees and plants.

Homely cottage with private garden in only 1 minute walk from the long sandy pebbled beach of Acharavi with plenty restaurants and coffee bars in the neighbourhood.

The cottage sleeps up to 3 persons with one double bedroom, an open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area with 4 seats and a bathroom.
A chair bed can be made up as a single bed or a baby cot can be placed in the sitting area.

On the outside there is a spacious covered terrace with a long dining table with 8 seats, a lounge sitting corner and a spacious fenced garden with sunbeds.

Convenient to go for a swim and stay and relax in your garden.

- "My sister and I absolutely loved Ivy Cottage, tucked away in a peaceful location with views of the lush mountains and yet only a 3 minute walk to the beach and a 10 minute stroll to the main street. The cottage itself is a great use of space and the cleanliness was impeccable. From the minute we were met on arrival by Ingrid with a very delicious welcome pack until the moment we left, we felt so welcomed and cared for. Even the gardener Kostas and the cleaners were lovely. With this location you are spoiled for choice with fantastic restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance. The outside space is wonderful with a large private terrace and spacious garden. We can't recommend this property highly enough. We'll definitely be back. "
