The rooms are equipped with heater, geyser etc. Cook is available at on demand basis, the restaurants nearby also deliver home. You can also cook yourself in the kitchen within the cottage. Although the kitchen is stocked with all the basic groceries and spice mixes, the guests will have to get their own fresh produce and perishables as per their requirement. We do not have a refrigerator in the kitchen.

Dine by candle light every night in our front yard and don’t forget to look up and admire the bright clear stars.

BEDROOMS:

The cottage houses two rooms adorned with four poster beds, side tables, mirrors and other amenities to make your stay a comfortable one.

If needs must and you have to keep abreast of work commitments during your stay, we have a small workspace available in one of the two bedrooms.

BATHROOMS:

We have one washroom which is across the hallway outside the bedroom. None of the bedrooms come with attached washroom.
The washrooms are thoroughly equipped with essential toiletries and fresh towels to help you soak in a long relaxing hot water bath after a tiring day of sightseeing.

ENTERTAINMENT:

Apart from the outdoor games, guests have access to indoor games which includes board games, jenga and the likes of it.

In terms of other recreational activities guests can hike to Naddi flag point which is about 45mins trail/ hike from our BnB and offers mesmerizing views of the valley below.

In the evenings a short 15min walk through the village will lead you to the most famed sunset point of Naddi where in you can devour the breath taking sunsets of Dharamsala with a hot cup of cappuccino.

For an additional cost per person basis, we also organize al fresco picnics for groups by the riverside in Balh village which is about 20mins drive from the BnB, soak in the sun, dive in the glacial ice cold waters or just sip on a mojito by the rocks, we have you covered!

Guest access
The entire place is available privately to the guests, the property is fenced and hence the guests are free to enjoy the space within the boundaries of our house.

Other things to note
PLEASE NOTE: This is not a party place, any kind of parties, loud music is a strict no, given the peaceful surroundings we live in.

GETTING THERE:

To get to the property, you need to walk 15mins (800mtrs) down the main road through a village trail. Please note, its an Air BnB and we do not provide luggage pick up/ drop off facility. Although our staff will be keen on helping you out with some of the luggage during the check in, in such scenarios you can tip them as you like, because hey, after all they're doing the hard work.

Private vehicles can be parked on the road safely.

Overnight visitors are strictly not allowed.

SMOKING:

Smoking inside the rooms is prohibited however feel free to smoke outdoors and please use the ashtrays scattered around.


CLEANING:

A local staff comes to clean the house everyday in the morning between 9-11am. However, if you could endeavor to keep it tidy during your stay, it would be highly appreciated. For long stays, we provide fresh linen and towels after every three days.

FURRY FRIENDS:

Well behaved pets (cats & dogs) are welcome and will incur an additional cost of Rs 500/- per pet. Please let us know at the time of making your booking. A maximum number of 2 pets per stay is allowed.

DAMAGE – BREAKAGES

Please be aware that any injuries, casualties or any breakage inside or outside the property will be the sole responsibility of the person who made the booking and as such will be invoiced accordingly. In case of any damage or breakage in and around the property, please notify us immediately.

WE DON’T ENCOURAGE:

As much as we’d love our guests to have a comfortable stay and a memorable experience during their stay in our home, we’d like you to respect the sanctity of the place and privacy of the villagers around us and hence any loud music or a party is a big no. We observe silent hours from 10pm to 7am.

AND FINALLY:

Please refrain from bringing any hazardous or dangerous items, or any illegal substance, onto the property. You'd be requested to check out early in such scenarios irrespective of the stipulated time of the stay.

Our quiet, secluded and characterful cottage is built with traditional local stone and slate and set in its own private garden. Situated in the peaceful but popular village of Jogibara it offers unparalleled privacy, stunning views, comfort and convenience. The cottage has a large double bedroom suitable for a couple seeking a romantic getaway, a peaceful work from home environment or simply an escape into nature, but with all the modern convenience and amenities of city living.

The space
Situated between lower Dharamsala and McLeod Ganj, our cottage is set a few minutes walk down from the road in Jogibara village. Access is through the village, down some steps and along a path, where there is a private gate to the flower- and shrub-filled garden. This access is only suitable for able guests as it is quite a steep climb up and down, but the reward is truly unmatched peace and privacy.

The cottage is single story with a large bedroom, small living room, fully equipped kitchen and verandah overlooking a private garden with stunning mountain views. We do not provide any additional accommodation, nor is it suitable for children or pets.

Guests can choose to self cater or eat out / arrange delivery from the cafes in the village. These include the popular Other Space cafe - sister cafe of the famous Illiterati restaurant, now sadly closed - which serves excellent coffee, breakfast, pizzas and pasta, among other seasonal specials. There is a also a good dhaba-style Indian restaurant serving local Himachali specialities, as well as a Tibetan restaurant for the famous momos!

The cottage kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge / freezer, gas stove, water filter, toaster, kettle, pots and pans, crockery, and cutlery. It is also stocked with a few basic supplies such as tea, milk, sugar, coffee, salt and oil. There is a small shop in the village selling basic everyday supplies and vegetables, and guests can also shop for groceries and other supplies in the well stocked markets of McLeod Ganj or Dharamsala.

If you are using the kitchen then cleaning up will be your responsibility. If you need some help, we can arrange this for a small extra fee.

It is super easy to get around, with taxis plying up and down the hill through Jogibara at all hours, which you can wave down for a lift. I can also help with a trusted taxi for arrival and departure transfers, as well as any sightseeing. The main market is just a 15 minute walk up the hill. If you're arriving by car, there is street parking nearby, or official car parks in McLeod Ganj.

- The cottage has a fibre internet connection which is included.
- We do experience occasional power outages, especially during extreme weather, and do not have a backup power supply. However, outages are increasingly uncommon and usually no longer than an hour or so.
- The fireplace in the cottage is not in use because of the fire risk this poses to the property. However, there are several heaters, including a dual AC unit and electric blanket, so it is very warm and cosy during the winter months.
- Please remember that you will be residing in a village, so we request that you extend courtesy towards the neighbours – loud music etc is a big no-no.
- We reside in the neighbouring property and have a very friendly dog. There are also a number of stray dogs in the village, but they are all friendly and fully vaccinated by the local animal rescue charity.
- We only accept bookings through Airbnb and the cottage is available only on the dates shown as available on Airbnb. Please do not send enquiries for dates other than those that you actually intend to travel on.
- Children children and pets cannot unfortunately be considered, nor can additional accommodation be provided. The cottage is strictly available for two adult guests.

We have plenty of outdoor seating, space to play outdoor games such as badminton (with rackets & shuttle provided), Frisbee, space to relax on a hammock & a swing or just catch some rays!

If you fancy dining al fresco, ask no more! Our breakfast spreads are something to look forward to, from lip smacking parathas to local delicacies from Maharashtra such as upma & poha, the breakfast table is adorned with everything that will help you get your day started on a fresh & healthy note.

Since guests do not have access to the kitchen at the BnB, we have a small menu from our in house café. Often, we bake desserts so don’t forget to ask for specials while you’re here!
