On a clear day you may witness the mountains of Govind Pashu National Park in the North, Bander Poonchh range in the East, & the Nanda Devi range in South. The nearby Dalai Hill offers a panoramic 360 degree view of Mussoorie & it's surroundings.

You may chance upon Martens, colorful Birds & the occasional Hare during the walk to the beautiful pine forest. Sip coffee at the Charlevile Book Cafe, and walk to the Company Garden.

The cottage is your independent home that you don't share with anyone. In a gated community called Kamal Cottages - 24X7 security, Car Access right to the cottage door and ample Parking.
While you enjoy the serenity of the hills of Mussoorie the idea is not to rough it up. The cottage provides all the comforts of a modern and well led life among the mountains.

1. WiFi (50mps) connection with inverter support for work from vacation home travelers. The internet connection will meet most work requirements including VCs with 20+ participants or live streaming. Power cuts are rare but if it happens we have back through the inverter. TV with Tata Sky connection to step back in the real world in case you really need to, our advice though will be to the contrary :)

2. Fully armed kitchen - Fridge, microwave, toaster, cutlery and utensils. You have an option to self cook or employ the services of a local cook (chargeable). You can also order in or from the mess at the premises which serves fresh made and tasty options from Indian cuisine (Veg/Non Veg).

3. Provision for tea/coffee as you enjoy the beautiful view of the sunset. Enjoy a few pre dinner drinks besides the bonfire that the local help can set up for a nominal charge.

4. Oil heaters in the living space and each of the bedrooms will help keep you warm especially in the colder months.

5. Plenty of places in the compound to walk around, a large garden and also a temple. We request you to help maintain the serenity of the place and avoid playing loud music. Also smoking inside the cottage interiors is not permitted. If you please, you can smoke in the deck area or outside

6. Please note the third bedroom is an open space with a single bed.

There is a 200 metre down slope to reach our property. Anybody who is uncomfortable with walking or driving on hilly train should note this heads up.

We have tied up with a wonderful multi-cuisine restaurant namely “City Point” to take care of your taste buds. The menu is kept in the living room for delivery at the door step.

No commercial vehicles (taxis,buses,etc.) are allowed inside the mall road. The best medium to commute are rickshaws & scooty’s on rent.

Any vehicle entry is paid in the mall road and prohibited between 4pm to 10.30 pm.

Bon fire is available only during the winters (October-February) on chargeable basis.

Lilac Cottage is located 15 minutes short of Mussoorie Mall Road and is built around the palace of the King of Nepal. An ideal location for a family, the complex has a Table Tennis Table, a Card Room and a Cricket/Football ground. A fully functional mess serves home-cooked food.

The space
The cottage is split into two levels, with the living room, dining and kitchen on the ground floor and two bedrooms with attached washrooms and balconies on the second floor.

Living Room
The full-width glass window overlooking the mountains and wooden flooring make the living room a cosy nook to hang out at. On top of the console is a television with a cable connection. The sofa transforms into a sofa bed and sleeps two adults.

Bedrooms
There are two bedrooms on the first floor, both with attached bathrooms. The queen size beds have semi-soft mattresses and cushions for a restful night’s sleep. Both rooms lead to a common balcony overlooking the mountains.

Dining
The dining area, located on the ground floor is adjacent to the kitchen and living room. The dining table seats six people.

Kitchen
The open kitchen leading to the dining room has a stove, washing area, kettle, toaster, microwave, mixer and a refrigerator. All cooking essentials including pans, utensils, cutlery, crockery and a few spices are also stored in the cabinets.

Bathrooms
There is one bathroom on the ground floor and two bathrooms attached to both the bedrooms on the first floor. All bathrooms are equipped with geysers for hot water. Essentials like soap, toilet paper and a jet have been included.

Outdoor Patio
The highlight of the cottage is the backyard, overlooking the mountain range. It has comfortable seating, a bonfire pit for winter nights and a barbeque, in case you’re in the mood for grilling.

Guest access
Lilac Cottage is situated in a gated and guarded complex of 52 cottages in Jharipani, Mussoorie. Guests have access to a Temple, Table Tennis Table, card room, and common grounds where they can join the local kids for a game of cricket or football.

There is one car parking spot adjoining the cottage. Additional cars can be parked at a distance of 50 steps in the common parking area.

- Guests are earnestly requested to treat the home with care.
- Loud music is not allowed post 10 pm outdoors. However, there are no time restrictions in playing music indoors.
- Alcohol consumption is allowed.
- Smoking is allowed only outdoors and in the balcony.

. Our property is located about 85 steps down from the parking area. While the walk is scenic and manageable for most. This property is not recommended for elderly guests with mobility issues or differently-abled individuals, as the climb may be physically demanding. The property's location was chosen by the Raja of Nepal for his residence, he bought from an english lady Ms. A.A. Fair, hence the Palace being named Fair Lawns. A staircase takes you to another small room for the extra guest, leading to the 2 bedrooms each with attached bathrooms.

Open sitting spaces overlooking mountains and the Doon Valley. The cottage is accessible right upto the door by car with adequate parking, a rare luxury in hills.

The property offers to the guests a safe gated campus with scenic views and prompts going on quiet walks over fallen oak leaves to nearby places. There are playing grounds for children, a Hindu temple, a club house which has carrom, billiards, table tennis and card tables for entertainment.

The cottage is your independent home that you don't share with anyone. Part of a gated community called Kamal Cottages - 24X7 security, Car Access right to cottage door and ample Parking.
While you enjoy the serenity of the hills of Mussoorie the idea is not to rough it up. The cottage provides all the comforts of a modern and well led life among the mountains:

1. WiFi (50mps) connection with inverter support for our work from vacation home travelers. The internet connection will meet most work requirements including VCs with 20+ participants or live streaming. Power cuts are rare but in case it happens we have back through the inverter. TV with Tata Sky connection to step back in the real world in case you really need to, our advice though will be to the contrary :)

2. Fully armed kitchen - Fridge, microwave, toaster, cutlery and utensils. You have an option to self cook or employ the services of a local cook (chargeable). You can also order in or from the mess at the premises which serves fresh made and tasty options from Indian cuisine (Veg/Non Veg).

3. Provision for tea/coffee as you enjoy the beautiful view of the sunset. Enjoy a few pre dinner drinks besides the bonfire that the local help can set up for a nominal charge.

4. Oil heaters in the living space and each of the bedrooms will help keep you warm especially in the colder months.

5. Plenty of places in the compound to walk around, a large garden and also a temple. We request you to help maintain the serenity of the place and avoid playing loud music. Also smoking inside the cottage interiors is not permitted. If you please, you can smoke in the deck area or outside

This is an Independent cottage that you don't share with anyone. All rooms, dinning area, outdoor sitting deck are exclusively for you and the cottage also has an independent entrance. The services of the society (Kamal Cottages) can be accessed by you including mess, common walking areas, visit to ruins and temple area.

Other things to note
In case you are on very specific medicines request you to carry them with you, nearest Chemist is in mall Road (20-25 mins away). Also in case you plan a few drinks, do note that the nearest liquor store is also around mall road and 20 mins away

If you are bringing a staff member like a driver along, kindly note we do not provide accommodation in the cottage. However, there is accommodation facility for drivers in the compound
