Nestled in the farms of Letibunga - a Kumaoni village at ~7500 ft filled with fruit orchids facing the snowcapped Himalayan peaks - Trishul, Nanda Devi, and Panchachuli.

At a ~600 m walk from the road, the cottage truly sits in the lap of nature with private tree covered surrounding areas, stone walkways and seating corners, offering what mountains call for.

The property is spread out in ~.5 acres with over 250 young native trees. The cottage sits right in the middle of the property while walking from one end to the other.

There are farms, trees, and village trails in the immediate neighborhood. The cottage area is secluded from the nearest houses at ~100 m walk. Most of the houses in the near vicinity are of native folks who are very warm and welcoming.

The cottage faces east with a wide open view of the upper Himalayan range on the north side. On a clear morning, the rising sun and the white peaks can be captured in one frame from the first floor balcony. Climbing up to the gazebo at the top only makes it more mesmerizing. You can lift some weights or do yoga. Or, you can just stay cozy in your bed looking through the glass window at the sun rising up the mountain horizon.

Guest access: The first floor of the cottage is completely reserved for our guests. There are two rooms - One is the Master bedroom with an attic, kitchenette, closet area, and attached bathroom. It can sleep four people including two in the attic. The other room, living + attic, is connected to the master bedroom. It has a seating area, book shelf, and a TV. The attic in the living room has a double bed and a small music studio setup. Both rooms comfortably accommodate 6 people with three double beds. There is one restroom outside at the first floor level. Guests have access to another washroom at the ground floor next to the kitchen area.

Distance: The property is at ~7 hours drive from Delhi/Noida, and 9 hours from Lucknow. 2-2.5 hours uphill drive from Kathgodam railway station. Roads are wide, and remain clear during all seasons. During tourist seasons, sometimes traffic runs slow until Bhimtal. We can arrange for a local taxi if booked a day in advance. Fare to be paid directly to the driver.

Parking: The parking spot is adjacent to the main road. A ~600m (12-15 min) village trail walk takes you to the property. First 100 m are the steepest: We can drop the needful guests in our car until that spot. From there it is ~200 m flat >> 50 m uphill, not very steep >> ~250m flat and down hill. Our team member/s will provide help with heavy luggage/s. We request our guests to extend their helping hands in carrying light items and luggages such as laptop bags, hand bags, bag-packs etc.

Food:
- We offer a food package at an additional cost that guests can opt for once the booking is confirmed. It includes breakfast, lunch, high tea, dinner and incorporates a symphony of unique flavours and local delicacies.
- We request guests to confirm their food preferences from the shared food menu at least 2 days in advance for a delightfully smooth service.
- A la carte is available only for snacks during limited time duration.

The space
Three bedrooms, two on the 1st Floor and one on the Ground Floor, with attached Bathrooms. There is a sit out on the 1st Floor and on the Ground Floor.

A car can drive up to the ground Floor room (two steps to climb). The Ground floor room can easily accommodate an extra bed. It is located in Dubkhad Village in the valley below the Mukteshwar Temple. This is the only home stay in the village and hence no other tourists are likely to be around. The village economy is agriculture, fruits and vegetables. The village has its own water source hence there is no shortage of water.

There is car parking for owner driven cars (3-4 cars) but no accommodation for a driver, as yet.

There is a nice sized lawn for a laze in the sun or a bon fire at night. In the corn season - fresh corn from the farm, slow cooked over the bon fire embers is a treat.

There is a well equipped kitchen which serves all three bedrooms. The kitchen has a refrigerator, Gas Stove, Induction stove, kettle and all utensils to cook up a meal if you so wish.

There is an internet connection that works very well, except for the occasional power outage - which is not long. All phone networks work well - best being Vodafone and Jio. Don’t expect to conduct business critical transactions using the internet connection.

The hosts - a local village family run the home stay and cook for the guests. Generally they serve vegetarian food. The vegetables all come from their farm - the farm to fork cycle is 2 hours!! They will cook you a non-veg meal on special request.

The USP of the home stay is cleanliness, home cooked farm fresh food, quiet village life, no traffic noise and if you are lucky enough an occasional visit from the leopard.

The elevation is 1900 meters. On a clear day the snowy Himalayan ranges are visible.

Our place has four lawns around the cottage and has a view of 360 degree . All rooms has a beautiful view of the valleys .

The tariff includes a professional cook who will be availalable for the duration of your stay. The chef will be at your disposal from 7:30am to 10:30pm and will gladly cook your meals. However the groceries need to procured separately by the guest. Most groceries can be obtained from the shops at 'kasia lekh' which is 6-7 kms from the cottage. Guests are adviced to fetch needed groceries on the way to the market.

1. The Cottage

Perched at an altitude of 7,000 ft, it’s a 3,000 sq feet villa with 3 bedrooms & bathrooms, 2 living rooms, 2 balconies, 1 common bathroom, fully equipped kitchen & dining table, working fireplace, all set on 3 floors connected with a staircase.

From the gate/parking lot to the cottage there are 16 very gradual steps.

Bedrooms & common areas have large windows that allow ample sunlight in and invite you to enjoy panoramic views of the valley and the snow-capped Himalayan peaks.

The 3 floors

~ Upper Ground Floor

UG where you enter the house has a fully equipped kitchen, dining table, living room with couches & recliners, hardwood floors, a fireplace and a large balcony.

1 large bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and bay window.

~ 1st Floor

Large living room with lounge seating, library with a reading chair, some basic gym equipment and 1 big and 1 small balcony. There is a common bathroom with a washing machine on this floor.

~ Lower Ground Floor

1 large bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and bay window. Small garden outside and a veranda.

This floor also has a staff room and store.

2. The Destination

~ Unlike other hill stations, Mukteshwar is a place to enjoy nature & silence.

We are located on the highest hill in Mukteshwar at 7,000 ft ASL with panoramic views of the Himalayan snow-peaks & the valley.

Besides the Mukteshwar Dham temple, Chauli ki Jaali, some waterfalls & a
few cafes there is not much for sightseeing.

Mukteshwar & the cottage are a place to enjoy nature, take hikes, catch up on your reading & spend time with your friends and family.

3. The Drive

~ The drive to the cottage is an easy and gradual hill drive. The last 5mins is a steep drive but on a very good road.

If you leave Delhi NCR before 6 AM you can reach within 7-8 hours with 2 quick stops.

Please follow the instructions in the Escape Mukteshwar Travel guide to avoid bad roads and find the best eateries en route.

4. No. of Guests we can host

~ We can accommodate 4-10 adults. 6 guests on 3 large double beds in 3 bedrooms easily.

Additional 4 guests can be accommodated in the rooms on extra beds and we have a pull out sofa bed in the 1st floor living room.

5. Internet

~ We have a complimentary 10 MBPS wifi connection with almost no downtime.

Even if there is any issue, ISP is very quick to fix it. Voda, Idea, Airtel, BSNL networks work very well, Jio has issues.

6. Kitchen & Cooking

~ Self-cooking is allowed.

We provide a fully equipped and functional kitchen with all cooking utensils, OTG, microwave, fridge, cutlery & crockery, gas stove, hot water kettle, mixer-grinder, bread toaster, sandwich maker/panini press, smoothie maker, induction plate and spices.

All other ingredients need to be purchased. We only provide spices.

The neighborhood grocery store is only 5mins driving, and they also deliver.

~ Cook on hire.

You can also hire a cook for the day @Rs 1000/day, @Rs 1200/day May-June and Christmas-NYE dates. He will cook all 3 meals, you have to provide the ingredients.

He is good at delicious and simple homecooked and local Kumaoni food.

Once he is hired for the day, he has to be paid for the day even if you don't get one of the meals cooked.

7. Hot water & Save Water

~ As per our environmental policy, we have a Solar water heater for all bathrooms, which provides 24x7 hot water.

Please do not waste water, it is a very limited resource in the Mukteshwar and we have to buy every drop of it.

AVOID long showers.

8. Children

~ Children are welcome.

For kids below the age of 12, there is a security deposit of Rs 1000/day, paid in cash to the caretaker and refunded at checkout if there are no damages.

Children above 12 are treated as adults and full charges apply.

9. Pets

~ Dogs and other pets are welcome(cats not allowed)

There is a security deposit of Rs 1,000 per night payable at check-in and refundable at check out.

Pets are NOT allowed in the beds or on the furniture.

Guests are responsible for cleaning after their pets and for any damage caused by them.

Please bring your food, bedding and feeding bowls. Food for dogs is chargeable at cost @Rs 150/meal.

We don't have any pets living at the property permanently.

10. Bedrooms per booking

~ When you book for 4 guests, you will get 2 bedroom only.

At check-in the caretaker will show you the 3 bedrooms, you can choose and keep that for the duration of your stay.

Only when you book for the 5th and 6th guest you will get the 3rd.

If 1 bedroom is required per guest then please book 2 or 3 bedrooms.

11. Our Staff

~ Caretaker is available from 8:00 AM till 10:00 PM.

He lives in the same building on the lower ground floor and sometimes he uses the kitchen to prepare meals and will have access to the whole house for cleaning and maintenance during the length of your stay.

Any tips can be given to him directly.

12. Disabled(wheelchair) or older guests

~ There are 16-17 very gradual steps to reach the house from the main gate/parking lot.

If you have someone in a wheelchair or with any other disabilities please plan accordingly.

We can provide assistance to carry the guest to the property over the stairs and once inside the cottage on the upper ground floor then the kitchen, dining, living room, balcony and the bedroom of that floor are on the same level.

13. Drivers or Maids

~ We do not have space for drivers and maids. There are budget accommodations nearby though.

14. Fireplace

~ There is a fireplace at the property. Wood has to be procured by the guests. Due to Forest Department Restrictions, we don't keep wood on the property.

~ CAUTION: Once you are done with the fireplace, please make sure to extinguish the flames & embers with water.

15. Fitness & Exercise

~ We have a bench press, dumbbell set and push up and roller handles.

There is also an outdoor pull-up bar, dips bar and multiple-use fitness station that you can use for body-weight exercises.

~ Yoga mats are also available, please ask the caretaker.

16. Neighbours & Neighbourhood

We are surrounded by Kumaoni families living in their farms and beautiful homes and you are a guest in their village. Please be respectful of their home and do not make noise or throw garbage or litter in or around the house.

~ Playing loud music is not allowed.

Please enjoy the house while respecting everyone's space and privacy.

17. Cabs, buses, trains & How to reach.

~ Mukteshwar is easily reachable by car, train or bus.

For driving, we will send you instructions in the Escape Mukteshwar Travel Guide.

Buses from all major towns in the north reach Haldwani and from there you can take local buses or a cab. It's a 3-hour drive from Haldwani/Kathgodam.

2 major trains the Ranikhet Express and the Kathgodam Shatabdi ply almost every day from Delhi and back.

We can also provide cab service from Haldwani/Kathgodam or Delhi to the cottage

18. No Toiletries: In the interest of reducing garbage, which is a big problem in the hills, please carry your own toiletries. We do not provide any soaps, shampoos, tooth brushes or tooth paste. There will be towels and toilet paper however.

Our luxury styled Boutique Stay is located at Bhatelia-Dhanachuli-Bhimtal Road, Mukteshwar, Uttarakhand and is accessible from the main road. The direct view of mountains, lush green dense forest, orchards and clear blue skies will make you want to stay in but exploring the nearby valley and lounging at the attached private garden or at our cozy attic area beckons for some fun!

All the rooms offer picturesque views of the nearby mountain & valley view, and the rustic fireplace can be a perfect reading corner. All in all, with a fully equipped kitchen and a private garden, this luxurious cottage is a relaxing getaway that makes for a very comfortable stay for a group of up to six people.

Guests will have access to the entire boutique cottage along with the Private Garden.
Note: Our care taker quarter is located adjacent to the property and has one entry attached to the garden only for the purpose of serving the guests.

Other things to note
- Parking is available adjacent to the entry of the complex.
- From parking to the boutique cottage there is a walk for about 100-200 meters. The path will have few stairs and slope, therefore elderly people and people with any walking issues should be cautious of this fact. While we aim to make our premise wheelchair friendly, currently it is not. (You need not worry about carrying your luggage, we will have it delivered till the cottage)
- Please note due to safety reasons, the kitchenette inside the cottage doesn’t have gas stove but an induction stove. You can use it for light cooking only.
- Main Meals available at additional cost based on a la carte menu by our in- house chef.
-Meal timings are as follows:
– Breakfast: 9AM to 11AM
– Lunch: 1PM to 4PM
– Dinner: 7PM to 10PM

Snacks can be ordered in between these hours as well. Our kitchen closes at 10 PM sharp.
-Please avoid carrying outside food, during your stay.

- To reduce plastic generation, for toiletries we provide only soaps along with Hand & Bathing Towels. Therefore request you to carry your other toiletries like shampoo, toohpaste etc.
- Though, the place under normal circumstances has uninterrupted electricity supply but for back up we have an inverter available.
- Good Wi-Fi network is available- well suited for working from hills.Just ask for the Password.
- We can provide accommodation for one of your male personal staff at an additional cost of INR 1200/-(Meals Extra)

• Guests are requested to take care of all personal valuables. Management is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to any items.

Visitor Policy: We are happy to accommodate visitors, but please note that there will be an extra charge (INR 1500) for any guests beyond those included in your reservation. This applies whether your visitors are staying overnight or not. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and comfort of all our guests.
