- "Hunter Hideaway Cottages are 4 self contained huts on a rural property 5 minutes outside Branxton, just off the New England Hwy or M15 Motorway, so its well located to do things in the Branxton / Maitland and surrounding wineries area. Our hut was very clean and comfortable. We were only there one night and it would have been nicer to have a couple of nights more to relax. Our hire car GPS didn't seem to know about the M15 Motorway and took us all over the place, but Paul the owner gave us directions over the phone to solve our dilema. The cost was reasonable compared to a motel, and I would definitely stay there again if in that region."

- "This is our 5th trip in 9 years. The location is quiet, the wildlife amazing and darts and ping pong make for great entertainment. The breakfast left for you to cook is plentiful and is cheaper than buying your own. Great place for 6 buddies, or romantic for a couple. The owners have really thought of everything to make the accommodation perfect, including even some bacon and eggs in the fridge to cook for brekky, good coffee too. There is even a fantastic fire pit outside for sitting under the stars (of which there are many) and enjoying a wine by the fire. Cabins are air-conditioned so perfect both summer and winter. We had a herd of cows in the paddock next door quietly grazing away in the afternoon and then a mob of Kangaroos next morning. The local area has some fantastic wineries and is much quieter and friendlier than the main touristy end of the Hunter valley. The cabins are well back from the main road so you have the best nights sleep in beautiful silence."

Our cottage is an old style two bedroom weatherboard with a classic covered country style balcony on the Eastern and Northern side and with a recently renovated kitchen, bathroom and a cosy living/dining room to relax and watch TV or chill out after a busy day visiting the local attractions. The location is fantastic being minutes to Hunter Valley Gardens, Hope Estate, Roche and Bimbadgen and right next door to the gorgeous Italian Restaurant Pescara; very central and close if you are attending one of the many concerts in Pokolbin. It is about a five minute drive away from the Vintage Golf Resort & Spa and is surrounded by vineyards, restaurants, cafes and all of the attractions that have made the Hunter Valley Wine Region a favourite for visitors from around the globe.

Cancellations.
As a very small and boutique business, late cancellations often result in empty cottages, which has a significant impact on our business. The booking and cancellations policies stated here, will apply in all situations. Guests are advised to take out comprehensive travel insurance to cater for any unforeseen circumstances. Please be aware of the Stayz terms and conditions of using the online payment system regarding loss of the full deposit if you cancel your booking.

If less than 14 days, 100% of monies will be forfeited. If you do not arrive or stay for the entire number of nights that has been booked no refund will be given.

Change of dates – must be made more than 30 days prior to arrival date. Date changes cannot be made within 30 days of arrival.

How to get here

Only 15 minutes off the Sydney-Newcastle Freeway at Kilaben Bay, near Toronto, and only 1 hour north of Sydney. Take the Toronto exit, and continue along this road for approximately 10 minutes to arrive at the main street of Toronto (The Boulevarde). Drive through the town and take a right at the end of The Boulevarde. Take the second right turn (into Jarret Street) and follow the road to Kilaben Park, which is facing the lake. Turn left into Kilaben Road. Head up the hill, and Number 72 is on your right. Drive down the long driveway and park behind our house next to the tennis court on your right.

Fassifern Train Station, a short drive(10min) from Toronto, for easy access from the Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne train lines. Connecting buses await at Fassifern Train Station to drive you to Toronto. Taxi rank in main street.

This lovely airy cottage is a separate building at the rear of the 90 year old Merewether Beach House. It is on two levels. The entry sitting room has a single bed suitable fior a child and bathroom entry is off this. Upstairs is a queen bedroom, small kitchen, lounge and dining area. Foxtel and wifi are included. The property is air conditioned but with lots of windows if you prefer the catch the sea breezes.
We are just a short stroll to Merewether Beach (voted Ausralia's best city beach) and the largest salt water baths in Australia. Merewether local's pub, The Beaches, is a very short walk and so is stunning, absolute beachfront Merewether Surfhouse with it's sophisticated bar and restaurant, function rooms, cafe and takeaway. The vibrant eating precincts of Darby Street, Cooks Hill and the Junction are just 2 ks away while the Newcastle CBD and harbour just 3ks.
Newcastle's renowned Bather's Way Walk starts100 metres from here - you can see the path streching away from the bedroom window.
If you like to escape the crowd we are also a short walk to Glenrock nature reserve with its lovely bush walks, rated mountain bike trails and beautiful Burwood beach leading to Glenrock lagoon.
Greg and I (Maz) are on site in the main house and available for help any time. Our greying staffy, Scout, will usually give a gentle hello.

Neudorf Country Retreat is a leisurely 2 hours drive from Sydney. Close to Wollombi and Mount View; the gateway to all the beautiful wineries the Hunter Valley has to offer. We are off-the-beaten-track and still close to everything your heart desires.

The cottage is self contained, with two luxurious double bedrooms, spacious lounge area, modern kitchen and bathroom, combustion stove, air-conditioning, TV, video, DVD, stereo and fly screens on all windows. All the linen and towels are provided.

- "We came to Neudorf intending to use it as a second home closer to our friends and family so they could visit us and meet our new baby as we live interstate. It was absolutely perfect, there were enough beds that we could comfortably stay in one room with our toddler and baby and our family could stay in the second room if needed. All the linen, towels etc were of superb quality and the host communication was excellent in making sure we had what we needed for us and our guests. Despite temperatures dropping past zero overnight, the fireplace kept the cottage nice and warm. It was super helpful having an actual kitchen and bbq, there was no need for takeaway (but there were options reasonably close if we wanted them). The bathroom was superb with a bath big enough to put all the kids in or for a tall adult to relax in. The whole property was really well kept, our toddler could safely run wild (with supervision due to the dam) and had an absolute blast. We didn’t use the tiny house part of the property but it looks lovely, is a short walk from the main cottage but as there are trees in between it is still quite private."

"St Peter's" has been converted to provide luxury accommodation with minimum alterations to the original structure. The high ceilings give a sense of space and reverse cycle air conditioning ensures the perfect temperature inside. In winter, the cosy fireplace adds warmth and atmosphere as you look out toward the Hunter River and to the mountains beyond.

Pokolbin and Lovedale are both only fifteen minutes away and offer an abundance of cellar doors, restaurants, cafes and shops if you would like to go in search for hidden treasures in the surrounding areas.

Otherwise just sit in the outdoor spa and enjoy the stunning view which is arguably one of the best in the area. A perfect end after a day exploring the area.

St Peter's at Fairview is located only an hour and a half north of Sydney via the M1 and Hunter Expressway and is four kilometres off the New England Highway. Some GPS are not quite accurate with our location. 422 Elderslie Road is 4.2 kms from the turn off. The property is on the right hand side, drive straight ahead once you are on the property and you will see St Peter's and the parking area in front of you.

Sutherland cottage is one of five cottages at Glen Ayr Cottages, situated in the heart of Pokolbin vineyards, five minutes' drive from Hunter Gardens, concert venues, and many wineries. Sutherland is a comfortable two-bedroom cottage with a queen bed and twin single beds; the bedrooms are en-suite. It has a large living and kitchen area with an open fire and air-conditioning. The kitchen is fully equipped, and all linen is provided.

The cottage is kept meticulously clean by our long-term housekeeper, who uses alcohol-based cleaning agents.

Sutherland cottage is an hour and forty-five minutes' drive from the beginning of the M1 Motorway (Pacific Highway) at Wahroonga, and an hour from the centre of Newcastle. Despite being within five minutes' drive of many large wineries, it is quiet and secluded. It has views of neighbouring Audrey Wilkinson's vineyard from its verandah. Nearby attractions include wine tasting, fine restaurants, galleries, horse riding, hot air ballooning, bushwalking, golfing and sky diving.

There is also a great variety of birds and other wildlife in the surrounding area, including kangaroos and frill-necked lizards; kangaroos often graze in front of the cottage.

Sutherland is comfortable and clean.

We charge per guest. A minimum of two guests is required for weekend bookings.

Beautiful, large timber cabin, fully self contained for a couple, overlooking rural paddocks and the Wollombi Brook. Comfortable interiors with picture windows from every room, luxury stone floors, generous bathroom with deep bath and seperate shower. All on one level. (Upstairs has been closed off). Wood combustion fire for the cooler months and air conditioning for the warmer months. Plenty of outdoor space to relax and watch the cows wander past. On a clear night, light the fire pit and name the stars.
Located on a shared property, the cabin is completely seperate and private with your own entertaining space and parking. Within walking distance of the historical village of Wollombi, home of the famous Tavern, churches, cafes and vineyards. Also a 5 - 10 minute drive to popular wedding venues such as Redleaf, Mystwood, Stonehurst and Redwood Park.

Fully streamed Google TV. Telstra tower in Wollombi provided 4G mobile coverage which extends as far as the cabin. Unfortunately, Vodafone has no reception in Wollombi and at the cabin. There are a number of mobile black spots along route 33 into Wollombi - depending on your provider, you will have no coverage from Kulnurra, to our driveway in Wollombi. And from Millfield to The edge of Wollombi Village. Please take care along the road, especially around Lemmings Corner.

- "We loved cowboys cabin! Everything you need for a weekend away in wine country. GORGEOUS french country decor, kitchen and large bathroom have all the essentials and the mountain view is so relaxing! Cutest dog Rufus is on the welcoming party and you can see kangaroos, cows and some sweet Willy wag tails visit each morning. We did a great wine tour with Mel from Grape Experience our fav wine by far was 1813 and Stonehurst for organic wine. The share plate of rib eye steak at Mt View was by far the best food of the weekend. We walked the 10-15 mins into town from cowboy cabin for dinner, not a great walking track as close to road but easily done with a torch at night. Hosts were very friendly and available if you needed anything, but very private cabin."

Olive Grove Villa is one of 3 charming Villas in the Olive Grove Estate in the heart of the Hunter Valley wine country, just minutes from the Hunter Expressway.

This Cottage/Villa is fully self-contained and private with an open-plan kitchen (with plenty of utensils but no oven). How We Price: The booking price is based on a minimum number of guests. Any guests above this number are chargeable on a per person/per night rate. The system will automatically calculate the correct rate when you enter the required number of guests. Reductions in guest numbers are non-refundable.

Arrival Details: Access to the property is made simple. You’ll receive an access code via SMS just before 3pm on your arrival day, which you’ll use for the duration of your stay. Standard check-in is at 3pm. While an earlier arrival may be possible, it cannot be confirmed until the afternoon prior to your arrival. If an earlier check-in is available, we will send you an SMS by 4pm the day before to confirm.

Linen: 1 set of full bed linens and 1 bath towel per person are supplied. Guests may wish to bring extra towels depending on the length of their stay. Pool/Lake/Beach towels are BYO

Please note: we will normally supply enough firewood, kindling & fire-starters for between 1-2 nights of your stay. No Party Policy: All reservations operate under a Strict No-Party & Non-Excessive Noise Policy as prescribed in the NSW Short-Term Letting Legislation and Local Council Laws. This property is in a Residential Area. Failure to comply can put the security bond into jeopardy and may lead to police-assisted eviction and/or extra charges being levied. We hate to have to note this but the reality is that so far this year we have had to evict 3 groups for overstacking/bad/anti-social behavior.

Extra Guests / Visitors: The number of people nominated on your booking is the maximum number of people that are allowed to be on the property at any one time, including visitors. Visitors may be requested and if approved must be approved in writing with Weekenda staff. Simply put, if Mum and Dad want to come over for a BBQ then we are likely to approve. If 10 extra people want to stop by we are unlikely to approve, which could put your booking at risk. We will always try to be reasonable with reasonable people within property constraints and House Rules.

Cameras and Noise Monitoring: There are no external security cameras at this location presently but the owner reserves the right at any time to install external cameras at their discretion. Any camera install will be in line with local regulations. A noise monitoring device is installed - fines apply to guests found to have disconnected, removed or damaged the noise device. These devices are used to monitor and maintain ours and guests responsibilities under the NSW STR Code of Conduct.

Guest Registration / ID Check : Weekenda requires every guest to complete and sign an electronic guest registration prior to arrival which will ask for photo ID i.e. a copy of your Drivers Licence or Passport. The primary booker will also be required to complete a list with the guests names and actual mobile numbers. In the event we are unable to reach the primary booker, it is very important we can get a hold of other guests. These documents will be deleted after your departure. Access Codes are only released to Registered and Verified Guests.

Critical Update: Due to an unprecedented influx of fraudulent bookings, we are forced to impose a policy that protects our clients, industry and community against those attempting to commit fraud and theft. Any booking made within 5 days of arrival is required to provide a photo of a valid credit card in the same full name of the primary guest to match the supplied identification document. - "The property is in a great location. There are other properties in the vineyard but you don’t have to worry about privacy as there’s plenty of space/trees in between. All rooms are spacious so there’s plenty of room if you’re hosting a group of 4+ people. Air conditioner both upstairs and downstairs. I highly recommend walking around the vineyard, great for photos, and you’ll be guaranteed to see kangaroos, ducks and chickens roaming around. Check in is really easy. You get sent the code for the key in the hours before check-in, and the box is right next to the door so you don’t need to move the earth to find it."

The house is only two blocks away from the beach. Lingard Hospital is close by as well as restaurants, shops and buses. On street parking is free. There are two bedrooms , one with Queen bed and the other with Double bed and a King single. There is a Steelcraft cot and high chair for families with babies/toddlers. This is a semi-detached house with owner/host in rear section of house. Both sections of house are partitioned off. So heaps of privacy. Fingal Bay Beach is a patrolled beach. A near-perfect C-curve of sand that faces southeast, Fingal Bay Beach has its own island connected by a sand-spit and is well protected from all but a hefty southeast wind. The spit at the north end which links Fingal Island to the mainland gets decent waves when the sand builds up. The island's key feature is an imposing lighthouse and there are some stylish cafes a short walk from the water’s edge.

We have created habitat for wildlife . Because of the native garden we have many visiting birds including parrots, honey eaters and wrens as well as native lizards. How We Price: The booking price is based on a minimum number of guests. Any guests above this number are chargeable on a per person/per night rate. The system will automatically calculate the correct rate when you enter the required number of guests. Reductions in guest numbers are non-refundable.

Arrival Details: Access to the property is made simple. You’ll receive an access code via SMS just before 3pm on your arrival day, which you’ll use for the duration of your stay. Standard check-in is at 3pm. While an earlier arrival may be possible, it cannot be confirmed until the afternoon prior to your arrival. If an earlier check-in is available, we will send you an SMS by 4pm the day before to confirm.

Linen: 1 set of full bed linens and 1 bath towel per person are supplied. Guests may wish to bring extra towels depending on the length of their stay. Pool/Lake/Beach towels are BYO.

Guest Amenities: We are Eco-Friendly - to help reduce wastage, we supply a single bottle of 3in1 shampoo/conditioner/body wash in all showers. In addition, guests are advised to bring their own personal preferred bathroom products/amenities.

Wi-Fi is provided complimentary on behalf of the owner. It is intended to be used in an appropriate manner by all guests. As the service is provided by an external 3rd party, Weekenda cannot and do not guarantee the speed or efficacy of this property's wifi connection nor do we pay any compensation for interruption of service for any reason.

Pools: If the property has a Swimming Pool then it will be opened for swimming for the start of the NSW September School Holidays and closed and Winterised immediately after the NSW Easter School Holidays have been completed.

Fires and Firewood: Internal wood fireplaces and outdoor fire pits only operate after the NSW Easter School Holidays up to before the NSW September School Holidays in line with NSW state fire restrictions. Please note: we will normally supply enough firewood, kindling & fire-starters for between 1-2 nights of your stay. For guests wishing to have additional fires, we suggest BYO Firewood, Kindling, and Starters which can be easily purchased from the local service stations.

No Party Policy: All reservations operate under a Strict No-Party & Non-Excessive Noise Policy as prescribed in the NSW Short-Term Letting Legislation and Local Council Laws. This property is in a Residential Area. Failure to comply can put the security bond into jeopardy and may lead to police-assisted eviction and/or extra charges being levied. We hate to have to note this but the reality is that so far this year we have had to evict 3 groups for overstacking/bad/anti-social behavior.

Extra Guests / Visitors: The number of people nominated on your booking is the maximum number of people that are allowed to be on the property at any one time, including visitors. Visitors may be requested and if approved must be approved in writing with Weekenda staff. Simply put, if Mum and Dad want to come over for a BBQ then we are likely to approve. If 10 extra people want to stop by, we are unlikely to approve, which could put your booking at risk. We will always try to be reasonable with reasonable people within property constraints and House Rules.

Cameras and Noise Monitoring: There are no external security cameras at this location presently but the owner reserves the right at any time to install external cameras at their discretion. Any camera install will be in line with local regulations. A noise monitoring device is installed - fines apply to guests found to have disconnected, removed or damaged the noise device. These devices are used to monitor and maintain ours and guests responsibilities under the NSW STR Code of Conduct.

Guest Registration / ID Check : Weekenda requires every guest to complete and sign an electronic guest registration prior to arrival which will ask for photo ID i.e. a copy of your Drivers Licence or Passport. The primary booker will also be required to complete a list with the guests names and actual mobile numbers. In the event we are unable to reach the primary booker, it is very important we can get a hold of other guests. These documents will be deleted after your departure. Access Codes are only released to Registered and Verified Guests.

Critical Update: Due to an unprecedented influx of fraudulent bookings, we are forced to impose a policy that protects our clients, industry and community against those attempting to commit fraud and theft. Any booking made within 5 days of arrival is required to provide a photo of a valid credit card in the same full name of the primary guest to match the supplied identification document. Failure of these documents matching will result in the booking being cancelled and all funds processed returned to the original card assumed as stolen and thus a fraudulent transaction. We trust we have our honest and genuine customers understanding this policy is in place to protect all parties.

Insurance: As always, but ever so more due to recent times, we strongly encourage any holidaymakers to obtain a very inexpensive 3rd Party Domestic Travel Insurance Policy to cover you for all manners of matters which may restrict travel. This is particularly helpful for things like Hunter Valley Concert cancellations, Covid or Medical and Other Emergencies for which we don't provide refunds, and anything which falls under our standard Terms & Conditions irrespective of the reason. We suggest reviewing policies with 'Cover-More' or 'Travel Insurance Direct' or 'Insureandgo'

While Murrurundi Cottage is ideal for people wanting a private hide-away, our location is near the local train station, which is handy for those wanting to arrive via the train from Sydney but it is worth knowing the trains including coal trains do pass by regularly (up to every one to two hours).
The train station is nearby and travelling via the train is a popular way to reach Murrurundi. It is advisable to book your train ticket in advance. From Sydney, it takes 4 hours and 35 minutes and costs between $40-$60.

Guest are refrained from smoking indoors.

Pets are welcome but not on the sofa or beds.

You have access to the entire cottage and backyard has an outside table and seating. The property is on a sizeable block of land - 1017 square metres. There is a carport for your car available and free street parking.

The host will give you the latch key details on booking. The key is for the side door and there is only one key for the side door and one for the back verandah - you'll find all the doors can be locked and opened from inside.

Other things to note
In Autumn and Winter (May to November) warm outdoor clothing is advisable as temperatures can be up to 10 degrees cooler than Sydney temperatures. We do have electric blankets for the two main bedrooms, an AC, electric heaters for two bedrooms and blankets for winter nights.

In summer, the local pool is fabulous. It costs $5 for adults. Opening hours in Summer are 12 noon to 7pm seven days a week and open from 6.30am to 8.30am Tuesday and Thursday.
