House includes fully stocked kitchenette with 2-burner induction cooktop, multi-function microwave, refrigerator and Keurig coffee maker. The 55" smart tv will keep you in touch and the quiet HVAC will keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The propane Weber grill is easy to access on the large outside deck. You can enjoy stargazing while roasting marshmallows over the firepit. There is ample parking for your boat. The lake can be accessed by foot at the rear of the property for fishing or swimming.

Juniper Cove marina is less than a mile from the cottage for those guests who want to bring their boat. White Bluff Resort has two golf courses just 3.7 miles away from the property. Adventure cottage is a casual one bedroom, one bath fully stocked guest house we hope to share with golfers, anglers, kayakers, boaters, and all lake enthusiasts. Once the sun goes down, guests can relax around the fire pit or enjoy the covered porch and gardens.

In 2016, we fell in love with the charm of Hico, Texas. While exploring the town, we stumbled upon this quaint, historic home that had been vacant for many years. Used as storage for antique furniture, the house was beaming with potential.

Over the years, we returned to Hico, drawn to its unique shops and relaxed atmosphere. Each time, we couldn't help but wonder about the history hidden within the walls of this forgotten gem.

Finally, in 2022, our dream became a reality. We purchased the house and embarked on a labor of love to restore it to its original beauty. Beneath layers of sheetrock, we uncovered stunning shiplap and beadboard, as well as original doorways, windows, and even the path of an old stovepipe. We even found remnants of the past, like newspapers and wallpaper, hidden beneath the surface.

Today, The Lazey Dazey Cottage offers a unique blend of historic charm and modern comfort. The original wavy glass windows let in plenty of natural light, while the restored features add character to every room. Come experience the history and tranquility of this special place.

Guest access
Guests will have full access to the house, with the exception of the owner's closet and garage.

🌟Newly expanded kitchen! We invite you to stay & experience all of the beauty that Lake Whitney has to offer. Located in a quiet neighborhood atop a bluff, the lakehouse is spacious enough for a group of friends or family and has a panoramic view of the lake that is accessible (this will count as your exercise for the day!) for swimming or fishing. If you'd rather stay on dry land, hike at Lake Whitney State Park or play a round of golf at White Bluff Resort-both just 15 min. away.

The space
The home is casual & comfortable. It provides a great place for a mid-day lake break after soaking up the sun. In the evening fire up the grill, play a round of horseshoes, then settle in with a glass of wine on our spacious deck to experience the most beautiful sunset around. It's just as stunning in the winter-just enjoy it from the warmth of the wood-burning fireplace inside. Winter stays are all about making memories. Playing games inside & roasting S'Mores are sure to please the kiddos, and a trip to Magnolia Market at the Silos is well worth the 40-mile drive.
Whether you call it antiques or hand-me-downs, the lakehouse is filled with an eclectic mix of furniture that creates a relaxing environment. The kitchen is stocked with all the necessities for preparing meals, & with two dining tables & an eat-in bar, there's plenty of space for "the kids table". Free WiFi & a firestick are provided when you're ready to watch a movie or catch up on work or social media. Come nighttime, everyone will have their own bed to settle into since there are 4 bedrooms & 9 beds. And although there are only 2 bathrooms, 2 of the bedrooms have vanities with sinks, so there's plenty of room for everyone to get ready to start their day.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire home, including the back yard and hike to the lakefront.

Other things to note
We welcome up to two well behaved pets for a fee of $70 per pet when booked in advance. Guests who decide to bring their pets without notifying host or payment will be charged $100 per pet. Refusal to pay
will forfeit reservation and guests will be asked to leave.
