My 12 yr old and I spent most of our time outside by the fire pit and walking to the lake which is 4 mins away. My son loved looking for fossils in the back yard and added his snail to the collection on the shelf by the back door. The cabin has everything you need as far as small appliances and although we mostly grilled, there’s an air fryer, blender, kurig, toaster stove fridge and microwave. The A/C is slamming and the bed is very comfortable. As far as shopping etc, we got a Walmart delivery for the basics and firewood etc, but there are some convenience stores up the road. Eddie the host communicated with us the whole stay and was such a gracious host and let us have a late checkout as we were delayed for 5 hours on arrival. I cannot recommend this property enough and we will definitely be back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "

The ranch is nestled between the towns of Whitney and Hillsboro on Lake Aquilla just 45 minutes south of the Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex. There is about a mile of dirt roads on the property to explore and view the natural beauty of the woods and observe the wildlife. It’s peaceful, quiet, secluded, and the stars at night light up the sky. We hate to head back home every time we come to enjoy the ranch.

The custom designed ranch house we call our 'cabin' was built in 2008 and is nearly 1400 square feet arranged in a great open floor plan. It is situated on 6 of the acres in Trinity Trails, but you can explore the entire ranch and the 50 acres of Corp land next to the lake.

The master has a King, second bedroom has a queen, and the third has a set of twin beds that can be arranged as bunk beds. There is also a full bed in the loft and a queen sofa sleeper if you need more places to sleep.

Come enjoy the cabin, use the canoe on the lake, fishing off the shore, sitting around the campfire, and making great memories with friends and family in a unique get away that won't be soon forgotten. The cabin is about 150 yards from the shoreline, canoes only 50 yards away with a caddy to make it easy to wheel them to the water.

The incredible fishing on Lake Aquilla is one of the best kept secrets in Texas. It's chalked full of bass, crappie, and channel catfish. And Trinity Trails Ranch is set right next to one of the prime fishing spots. And if water skiing, sailing, or scuba diving is more to your liking, Lake Whitney is just a few miles away and is considered one of the top two lakes in all of Texas.

The cabin is very well equipped. We have Direct TV with a 40' flat screen TV and WIFI internet. A foosball match is always fun! A complete kitchen stocked with all the normal appliances, coffee pot, pots/pans, dishes and glasses, cooking utensils, and a gas grill on the back patio means all you need to bring is groceries.

And as with any place in the country there is a great variety of wildlife to be seen. There are deer, armadillos, wild turkey, the occasional snake, and all kinds of birds...hawks and even bald eagles have stopped by.

Security cameras outside are used only for when unoccupied and verify departure so cleaning can begin. If uncomfortable, feel free to cover with grocery bag while staying...but please uncover when checking out.

Note: Boats can be easily left just inside the front gate as there are so many trees, a couple dips, and turning around with a boat is difficult except at the pasture.

Canoe: Life jackets are provided and must be used at all times. Children must be accompanied by an adult when in the canoes.

The ranch is nestled between the towns of Whitney and Hillsboro on Lake Aquilla, just 60 miles from the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex. There is about a mile of dirt roads on the property to explore and view the natural beauty of the woods and observe the wildlife.
The custom cabin design is an open plan and includes an outdoor porch with ceiling fans and a spacious screened deck that overlooks the forest with glimpses of the lake ( best views of the lake are Fall and Winter). It's a peaceful place to sit out and star gaze and observe the night sky.
The property is adjacent to the Corp of engineers and allows for easy access to the lake.

The location is attractive, as it is away from city life, it's that getaway destination most city folk crave. WiFi, is available to keep you connected, you can work from this location. The lower level contains a spacious great room with plenty of outdoor views. We have board games, outdoor games, a ping-pong table, located on the porch. The first-floor bedroom sleeps 2 with a queen-sized bed and is next to the first-floor bathroom. The views from the living space are amazing, you get a panoramic view of the forest and glimpses of the lake, mostly during the Fall and Winter months. The porch has large chairs to lounge and an outdoor table. We have a two-person hammock for that relaxing moment, perfect for night sky views. Lakeview was designed to invite the outdoors inside and our guests outside.

Both bedrooms on the second floor are spacious. One bedroom has a king-sized bed and daybed/trundle. The other has a queen-size bed with daybeds/trundle in bedroom and is next to the bathroom. Both rooms have access to the outdoor screened balcony. The bathroom upstairs is designed to accommodate multiple users with its Jack and Jill layout allowing separate and private use of the tub, lavatory, and "the loo".

The balcony faces west to Lake Aquilla allowing spectacular views of the setting sun, a perfect place to listen to the wildlife at night. The fuzzball table is located on the screened balcony so it's also a great gathering place.

We 0ften get asked if there is a fire pit, the answer is YES. Call it a Texas sized fire-pit if you will. It's the best place for storytelling and marshmallow fixin space.

Also asked if the studio/ house next to the cabin is for other renters. No, the studio is an added 4th bedroom space when additional space is needed. If you have a large group or have someone that would prefer their own space, I think it would be a great addition. All hygiene needs will be done in the main house as the studio doesn't have running water.

Lots of opportunities for enjoying nature and native wildlife. You will see animal tracks and an occasional arrowhead. You might hear cattle mooing at a distance, they belong to the neighbors and make for a wonderful photo prop.

There is a canoe and kayak including life jackets for your use during your Lakeview adventures.

The lake has opportunities for boating, fishing, and for hiking.

There is also a meditation garden next to Lakeview for those quiet moments.

Soldiers Bluff on the west side of the dam offers free swimming and picnicking on the rocky cliff side of the dam.
Camp Redneck Deluxe is close to restaurants, Dollar Store, gas stations and Pareya's liquor store. Bosque Mini Mart sells live bait, fishing licenses and other supplies.

Beautifu2 year old log cabin on large lot that's has an all pine interior. Cabin has 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms with large showers. We provide all the towels bed linens. Has a very nice patio with grill to sit out on. Home has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Kitchen has all dishes and pots and pans, stove, microwave, refrigerator and stove. Coffee maker is also provided.

Most unique is we built custom made bunk beds in the bunk room with full size on top and queen beds on the bottom. For our older crown we actually built nice stairs to the top bunks, not a ladder. 2 minute walk to the water. . Just a 30 minute drive to Baylor's McLane stadium or Waco's Magnolia Silos.

We designed this unique getaway with YOU in mind! Glamping at its finest. Set among the trees on a seasonal creek, the Cabin on the Creek is a fantastic place to relax and unwind for a night or two or three.

The space
Cabin on the Creek is 7 miles north of Hico, right off of Hwy 220 on your way to/from DFW. It is set in the most relaxed setting on the Duffau Creek. Surrounded by nature, you will enjoy all 240 square feet of this unique beauty. There is a full bed and a bench that folds out into a twin bed, which is perfect for a child (or two). An air mattress and bedding is provided upon request.

The cabin has full power and all the basic amenities are provided. A heater for those chilly nights and an AC for those warm summer days makes it a very comfortable getaway!

The kitchen has a two-burner gas stove top and all the kitchen supplies needed for cooking.

A mini-fridge is provided for your convenience.

A tea kettle and coffee are provided for a fresh cup of pour over coffee, as well as, tea bags, sweetener and creamer.

No WiFi Access. No TV. Cell service is good.

A variety of games are provided (Skipbo, cards, Scrabble, Yahtzee, etc). A large Jenga is available to play outdoors.

A gas grill is outside for all your grilling needs.

A pack ‘n play is available upon request.

3 pieces of wood and kindling are provided for each night of your stay.

A wide variety of critters live in rural Texas. Snakes, wild boars, deer, armadillos, spiders and scorpions are not unusual. Not all are friendly! We do not see them often, but stay alert and exercise caution. We do not recommend letting your kids explore without supervision.

We, the homeowners, are not responsible for the natural wildlife or any harm they may cause to guests. By submitting your payment to AirBnB to rent our cabin, you indicate that all guests in your party understand the risks, and that we, the homeowners, cannot be held liable for personal harm resulting from the natural wildlife.

The Lookout Trail Cabin, built in 1943, is 644 sq feet & sleeps 5 people. It has 2 bedrooms (full & twin over full) 1 bath, 2 living areas, full kitchen & screened-in back porch & plenty of outdoor space. The property is located in Lake Edge Harbor Subdivision in Whitney (Hill Co.) Texas, a rural lake area with no HOA. A trail from the property leads to the water via a small cliff peninsula. Perfect for fishing from cliff side, watching the sunset, & enjoying the beauty of the lake.

The space
Located just adjacent to the Cherokee Village Resort near Juniper Cove on a cul-de-sac street with a two other small houses and one RV spot. We know all the neighbors, they are kind and keep to themselves. We own most of the property on the left side of the street to the main road. An RV rental spot, also owned by us, is at the front of the property but separated from the cabin by trees and not visible from the cabin. The trail that leads to the lake is located off the back of the property and is on a high cliff peninsula. Trail is for viewing of the lake only and not access. There is no boat dock or ramp. Fishing is possible from end of trail from the cliff side. There is a short steep concrete staircase at the end of the trail and a small platform to sit or fish from, but it depends on lake water levels on whether this is usable or not. There is also a trail to the right of the peninsula trail that loops around to the bottom of the canyon and back up to the peninsula.

Guests will have access to the entire cabin, front and back yards and trails leading from the back of property to a cove on Lake Whitney that is on Corps of Engineer land. Guests will not have access to one owner's closet in the house nor the garage and bunkhouse located near the driveway. We are currently renovating the bunkhouse into another rentable bedroom.

We prefer nostalgia over fancy so the Lookout Trail Cabin is decorated with vintage finds and has a summer camp/fishing cabin feel to it. We hope you enjoy your stay, and that it reminds you of your childhood summers on the lake.

Hico Village is a spacious 1.25 acre property with 3 cabins available for booking. Cherish Cabin, Pilar Cabin and Doc Holliday Cabin. The cabins all have porches, full power, a/c and heat window units in each. The outdoor area consists of a nice gathering space under a huge old oak tree and a gazebo with electric located in the center of the property. Plenty of free parking just outside the village, there are no vehicles allowed inside the village. There is a short walk to each cabin.

Camp in luxury in this boutique glamping cottage nestled in the trees. It is complete with a queen size bed, coffee bar, mini fridge, a/c and heat, front porch, outdoor furnishings, fire pit and picnic table. It is a 1 minute walk to the uniquely crafted stone and cedar bathhouse, which has a real toilet, sink and hot shower.
Fire pit has a grill grate but bring anything else you need for cooking (pans, utensils, etc.)

1 bundle of firewood is provided for each nights stay. If you require more than is provided, it is $10 per bundle. Wood is located in the Wood Hut near the entrance.

QUIRKS AND IRKS:
•If you are not easily mobile this might not be the place for you. Furniture is low profile and there are 2 steps to reach the toilet
• Our cabin is in the heart of a quaint lake town. On the road in you will experience roads in need of maintenance (just pretend it’s the craters of the moon)
•If you are not used to the country or the Lake just note THERE WILL BE BUGS OUTSIDE
•Each couch lays down into a bed. Pull couch away from wall, unzip back extend leg, pull back of couch forward until clicks then lay back down. To put bed back into a couch pull the back until it clicks back into upright position. All bedding for couches is inside the ottoman
•All light/fans including the moon light are remote controlled as long as the switches are in on position. Feel free to dim lights and adjust fan speeds to your comfort
•We allow pets as long as they are house broken but we do not currently have any amenities for them, just be ware that the neighboring residents sometimes allow their pets to roam
•There is not a dishwasher, please just leave used dishes in dish trays or sink and we will wash them

Hico Village is a spacious 1.25 acre property with 3 cabins available for booking. Cherish Cabin, Pilar Cabin and Doc Holliday Cabin. The cabins all have porches, full power, a/c and heat window units in each. The outdoor area consists of a nice gathering space under a huge old oak tree and a gazebo with electric located in the center of the property. Plenty of free parking just outside the village, there are no vehicles allowed inside the village. There is a short walk to each cabin.

The space
The Riverside Cottage is beautifully staged bringing both modern and rustic themes into the living spaces. The open concept living area is perfect for spending time together. The spacious sectional sofa invites you to kick back and relax while dinner is prepared. The dining area includes a table w/ 4 chairs and a large bar w/4 stools.

Enjoy 2 spacious bedrooms with KING Beds and one modern bath w/ walk-in-shower.

A blow up mattress and pack-n-play is also available.

The back porch is setup for outdoor dinging/lounging overlooking the river. The porch also includes a setup for charcoal or wood chip grilling or smoking.

Note: The wood-burning stove in the living room is inoperable.

The space
The main cabin sleeps 4 in the 2 bedrooms and has 1 full bathroom. The detached game room sleeps 6 (queen Murphy bed and 4 twin beds) with a half bathroom. The game room has a pool table with an optional ping pong table top. The main cabin and game room share the common entry porch (see picture for details). The house resides on approximately 1.5 acres.

Although we value our furry companions, pets are not allowed on the property. If you have a service animal, please be aware that the yard is not fully fenced and some neighbors have large dogs. Therefore pets must be closely monitored.
