My 12 yr old and I spent most of our time outside by the fire pit and walking to the lake which is 4 mins away. My son loved looking for fossils in the back yard and added his snail to the collection on the shelf by the back door. The cabin has everything you need as far as small appliances and although we mostly grilled, there’s an air fryer, blender, kurig, toaster stove fridge and microwave. The A/C is slamming and the bed is very comfortable. As far as shopping etc, we got a Walmart delivery for the basics and firewood etc, but there are some convenience stores up the road. Eddie the host communicated with us the whole stay and was such a gracious host and let us have a late checkout as we were delayed for 5 hours on arrival. I cannot recommend this property enough and we will definitely be back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "

The ranch is nestled between the towns of Whitney and Hillsboro on Lake Aquilla just 45 minutes south of the Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex. There is about a mile of dirt roads on the property to explore and view the natural beauty of the woods and observe the wildlife. It’s peaceful, quiet, secluded, and the stars at night light up the sky. We hate to head back home every time we come to enjoy the ranch.

The custom designed ranch house we call our 'cabin' was built in 2008 and is nearly 1400 square feet arranged in a great open floor plan. It is situated on 6 of the acres in Trinity Trails, but you can explore the entire ranch and the 50 acres of Corp land next to the lake.

The master has a King, second bedroom has a queen, and the third has a set of twin beds that can be arranged as bunk beds. There is also a full bed in the loft and a queen sofa sleeper if you need more places to sleep.

Come enjoy the cabin, use the canoe on the lake, fishing off the shore, sitting around the campfire, and making great memories with friends and family in a unique get away that won't be soon forgotten. The cabin is about 150 yards from the shoreline, canoes only 50 yards away with a caddy to make it easy to wheel them to the water.

The incredible fishing on Lake Aquilla is one of the best kept secrets in Texas. It's chalked full of bass, crappie, and channel catfish. And Trinity Trails Ranch is set right next to one of the prime fishing spots. And if water skiing, sailing, or scuba diving is more to your liking, Lake Whitney is just a few miles away and is considered one of the top two lakes in all of Texas.

The cabin is very well equipped. We have Direct TV with a 40' flat screen TV and WIFI internet. A foosball match is always fun! A complete kitchen stocked with all the normal appliances, coffee pot, pots/pans, dishes and glasses, cooking utensils, and a gas grill on the back patio means all you need to bring is groceries.

And as with any place in the country there is a great variety of wildlife to be seen. There are deer, armadillos, wild turkey, the occasional snake, and all kinds of birds...hawks and even bald eagles have stopped by.

Security cameras outside are used only for when unoccupied and verify departure so cleaning can begin. If uncomfortable, feel free to cover with grocery bag while staying...but please uncover when checking out.

Note: Boats can be easily left just inside the front gate as there are so many trees, a couple dips, and turning around with a boat is difficult except at the pasture.

Canoe: Life jackets are provided and must be used at all times. Children must be accompanied by an adult when in the canoes.

The ranch is nestled between the towns of Whitney and Hillsboro on Lake Aquilla, just 60 miles from the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex. There is about a mile of dirt roads on the property to explore and view the natural beauty of the woods and observe the wildlife.
The custom cabin design is an open plan and includes an outdoor porch with ceiling fans and a spacious screened deck that overlooks the forest with glimpses of the lake ( best views of the lake are Fall and Winter). It's a peaceful place to sit out and star gaze and observe the night sky.
The property is adjacent to the Corp of engineers and allows for easy access to the lake.

The location is attractive, as it is away from city life, it's that getaway destination most city folk crave. WiFi, is available to keep you connected, you can work from this location. The lower level contains a spacious great room with plenty of outdoor views. We have board games, outdoor games, a ping-pong table, located on the porch. The first-floor bedroom sleeps 2 with a queen-sized bed and is next to the first-floor bathroom. The views from the living space are amazing, you get a panoramic view of the forest and glimpses of the lake, mostly during the Fall and Winter months. The porch has large chairs to lounge and an outdoor table. We have a two-person hammock for that relaxing moment, perfect for night sky views. Lakeview was designed to invite the outdoors inside and our guests outside.

Both bedrooms on the second floor are spacious. One bedroom has a king-sized bed and daybed/trundle. The other has a queen-size bed with daybeds/trundle in bedroom and is next to the bathroom. Both rooms have access to the outdoor screened balcony. The bathroom upstairs is designed to accommodate multiple users with its Jack and Jill layout allowing separate and private use of the tub, lavatory, and "the loo".

The balcony faces west to Lake Aquilla allowing spectacular views of the setting sun, a perfect place to listen to the wildlife at night. The fuzzball table is located on the screened balcony so it's also a great gathering place.

We 0ften get asked if there is a fire pit, the answer is YES. Call it a Texas sized fire-pit if you will. It's the best place for storytelling and marshmallow fixin space.

Also asked if the studio/ house next to the cabin is for other renters. No, the studio is an added 4th bedroom space when additional space is needed. If you have a large group or have someone that would prefer their own space, I think it would be a great addition. All hygiene needs will be done in the main house as the studio doesn't have running water.

Lots of opportunities for enjoying nature and native wildlife. You will see animal tracks and an occasional arrowhead. You might hear cattle mooing at a distance, they belong to the neighbors and make for a wonderful photo prop.

There is a canoe and kayak including life jackets for your use during your Lakeview adventures.

The lake has opportunities for boating, fishing, and for hiking.

There is also a meditation garden next to Lakeview for those quiet moments.

JUST FOR CLOSE BY FUN boat ramps are east of the dam at Parson’s Marina,(launch fee required) just up a piece past the Loafers Bend Day Use area. The Corp of Engineers Day Use Park at Loafers Bend offers FREE sandy beach swimming, playground, picnicking and fee paid boat launch.
Soldiers Bluff on the west side of the dam offers free swimming and picnicking on the rocky cliff side of the dam.
Camp Redneck Deluxe is close to restaurants, Dollar Store, gas stations and Pareya's liquor store. Bosque Mini Mart sells live bait, fishing licenses and other supplies.

Beautifu2 year old log cabin on large lot that's has an all pine interior. Cabin has 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms with large showers. We provide all the towels bed linens. Has a very nice patio with grill to sit out on. Home has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Kitchen has all dishes and pots and pans, stove, microwave, refrigerator and stove. Coffee maker is also provided.

Most unique is we built custom made bunk beds in the bunk room with full size on top and queen beds on the bottom. For our older crown we actually built nice stairs to the top bunks, not a ladder. 2 minute walk to the water. . Just a 30 minute drive to Baylor's McLane stadium or Waco's Magnolia Silos.

Camera 1 is located on the entrance facing the entryway, camera 2 is located on the storage building facing the backyard space, and camera 3 is located in the parking area facing the parking area. The cameras are outward facing and do not look into interior spaces. The cameras do not actively record video or sound while guests are in residence
- There is another bookable vacation rental next door, with a shared outdoor pool, hot tub, and outdoor living space; other travelers may be present during your stay
- The hot tub has summer hours, which means it will not heat up if the water temperature is over 90 degrees. On very hot days, the water often reaches 90
