There was always a free and private shower, which means you shower and get dressed inside, not in a public space. When you check in, the staff will offer to suggest things you might like to see or do (they will also offer a map). The hostel is uphill from most things you might be seeing/doing--wear comfy walking shoes! If you are given a choice of bed, don't opt for the one just inside the room door, as the automatic light in the hallway goes on anytime someone steps out to use the bathroom. (At least one other hostel in town sells eye masks...). Also, be warned that Porto's "smoke-free building" definitions do NOT include the 30-foot perimeter we have in the US--expect some smoke to waft in through any open windows or doors. The space
Lisbon Lounge was the first hostel in Lisbon, opened in 2005 as a project by four Portuguese. From the beginning the concept was simple: to give backpackers a first-class Lisbon experience at budget prices. Over the years, we have changed ownership, improved our services and for multiple years we were voted the best Small Hostel in the World by Hostelworld.

Our services include free breakfast, free walking tours, pubcrawl tours, bicycle rental, cafe, bar and co-working spaces. We invite guests to join our three-course hostel dinner, cooked by our talented chefs. It is a great way to meet other like-minded travelers staying at our hostel in Lisbon.

Were located in the heart of Lisbon's historic Baixa district, the main tourist center of the city. The hostel is just around the corner from the iconic Rua Augusta, a grand and beautiful mosaic-tiled pedestrian street capped by a colossal arch. A short stroll will also take you to the charming suburb of Alfama, the oldest part of Lisbon and the home of Fado, the music of Portugal. At night you can walk to the famous Bairro Alto, a labyrinth of bars and street parties. All forms of public transport, including the airport shuttle and the Cascais beach train line, are within very short walking distance of our hostel.
