The only 2 gripes to be had about this hotel is from no actual fault of the owners and staff but the location is kinda ehh not the most convenient if you like to walk places and they have this weird setup with the bathrooms where there is like a see through window between the bathroom and the bedroom, which staff remedied immediately upon request by covering the bathroom window with a curtain. This is a wonderful hotel and I strongly recommend it if you’re in the area!!"

- "The staff was brilliant, I recommend staying here for kawasan falls canyoneering and book directly in this place, we had an amazing private tour for only 1100 pesos each and lasted abour 3-4h with food and water also. The tv only has 1 channel but tbh we were too tired to be watching it. The beach outside of the property is not really a swimming beach, more for the view. Malboal is about 30min away by bike or bus (just flag a yellow bus is like 32 pesos per person soooo cheap) and there are plenty of beaches there."

Staff are very pleasant and friendly and helpful! Only the wifi are very poor and slow.And please try to refresh the room before the guest came..i understand sometimes the executive suite are not always the first pick of the travellers who stays a little bit longer..i saw the drinking glass inside the bathroom are already dusty dry,..that is why i asked the housekeeping to change it..and try to clean the glass wall of the shower room and the floor…so no more soap stains that makes look dirty.theirs spider web in the lamp sheds and corner tables are dusty too…looks never used for a long time.Small flaws…easy fix! But all in all we enjoyed our stay! If we have a chance to cone back…Southgate still my first choice to stay! Thank you for the good service! "

- "The team were friendly and helped carry our baggage up to our room; the room was average size for the Philippines and was tidy, and the bathroom was good, considering this is a budget hotel. the hotel is about a 5-minute walk up to the Oslob Whale Shark Street, where you gain entry to the water. Overall a place for a night just to see the whale sharks. The big downside is the noise from the trucks that are entering the area and the either blast horns or downshift and rev the heck out of their engines."
