- "Helpful staff, good food, convenient location. " - "The staff was friendly and it was beachside. Very close to the Sumilon Island pier for a wonderful day trip and about 5 mins drive to the main whale watching area. The Main building was ocean front and you could hear the waves crash at night while you sleep. The breakfast was good and dinner had a lot of choices and food was delicious too. Great to have an onsite scuba diving centre and highly recommend to go scuba diving with the whale sharks than waste 2 hours waiting to snorkel 10 mins while you get around 45 mins scuba diving. They can also organise tours to the Kawasan Canyoneering and Tamalog Falls at a reasonable price. Overall a nice basic resort, don’t expect 5 stars like the Sumilon Island as this is not rated as such, but value for money, clean, good food and friendly staff. Thank you for a great stay!"

The big downside is the noise from the trucks that are entering the area and the either blast horns or downshift and rev the heck out of their engines."

- "The place is old and the rooms are not maintained. The door is very difficult to open with the key. There is a small gap/hole on the front door so make sure you cover it with something so you are not seen from the outside. The toilet doesn’t flush so you have to use bucket to flush it. They don’t provide shampoo or soap so bring some if you stay here. The AC is not fully functional as it took all night and it is even cool yet. And the highlight - there is not one, not two but THREE big cockroaches that we saw during our stay. I have to get rid of it myself as it was late when we saw it. So if you like creepy crawlies then stay here. The only positive side is that this place is just beside the whale shark registration/check in so you can go to the place without traveling. Definitely not staying there again. "

Negra Mountain Resort is a family operated property in Oslob (Cebu 6025, Philippines). Our place is 3km from the highway with a breathtaking view overlooking the sea to Siguijor island.
