The Orada Convent in Monsaraz dates back to the 13th century.
D. Nuno Álvares Pereira had one of the 42 churches dedicated to Our Lady of Orada built on the site where we can see the current building.
The monumental staircase leading to the first floor is the original, as are the old cells (now rooms in the left wing).
