Our host Jorge and Javier took excellent care of us. Unforgettable 2 dishes- the sea urchin risotto with abalone at the pop up Singapore restaurant and the simple but divine spaghetti pomodoro with charred shrimp at the Italian restaurant should be a must. These two dishes really speaks to your soul if you are a food lover. The vegetable from their garden pizza is also well done. The quality of this pizza and pasta is world class. The spa is top notch. - "Almost Perfection in a hotel, my room was beautiful , spacious and brand new, the hotel is only three months old. I was really struggling to find something that I didn't like, and the only thing I could really find was the Toilet Seat wasn't the best and I wish they had Large Drinking Water Bottles in every room and if not in every room in each hallway. The staff were great Especially Sofia in the Rooftop Restaurant. The one thing I did not really like about the area was the lack of more affordable dining options. Everything is built for tourism in this area and you're paying accordingly. Overall however I'd stay here again."

- "We really liked this hotel from the first person we saw--bellman, friendly face, general know-it-all (in a good way) of all things related to this Holiday Inn, Pedro. Pedro explained everything that was nearby (we were walking or taking a cab). And offered his opinion. His best might have been the restaurant connected to the hotel called Alta. It was excellent for dinner. We didn't want to go anywhere because the World Series game was coming on. Unfortunately, Pedro couldn't insure a Houston win. But I digress. We had a lovely suite with our own deck and two lounges and small table. There was a very good breakfast in the morning and we had a late check out because our flight wasn't until 4:30. We didn't try the outdoor pool, but it looked very nice and inviting. Anyway, while short we really enjoyed our stay. And if ever need to stay again, it will be our first choice."

Between November & April the Humpback whales appear, offering another major attraction in our area. Don’t forget about sport fishing with our local fishermen. If culture tickles your fancy - then Punta de Mita is home to the last remaining pre-Columbian culture found in this hemisphere. Evidence of civilization in Punta de Mita & surrounding areas dates back to at least 2000 BC, where there were about 6 different cultural tribes residing in & around the area. Over time the population of these tribes has shrunk, but one of the original tribes, the Huichol (Wee-chol), are still living/practicing their traditional ways. These indigenous people are a living tribute to Punta de Mita’s history. They still live their pure pre-Columbian culture in the Sierra Madre Mountains, west of Punta de Mita. There, the tribe of mystics dedicate themselves to a balanced co-existence with nature.

If you need your golf fix, Punta de Mita is home to several famously designed golf courses, & although they are private clubs, you can easily access them with day passes.

Salulita & surrounding areas are just a hop, skip and jump by bus. Salulita is famous for its surfing and zip-lines. San Pancho, which is more of a sleepy town with a quaint beach, is a little further north of Salulita. La Cruz de Huanacaxtle is another charming fishing village just south of Punta de Mita. It has an amazing fish market with a wide range of freshly-caught seafood. It is possible to go to local markets in any of these villages every day of the week, if you're a market lover. Each village, town and city has their own market day; these are fun, vibrant and colorful, with anything/everything that you may fancy. All these destinations are accessible by bus. The bus system in Mexico will get you to pretty much any nook & cranny you want to visit plus they are very economical.
