- "Friendly Northumbrian Hotel/Pub Excellent" - "We had a really excellent 5 day stay. Our room (3) was huge with 2 kingsize beds and a large sofa. Bathroom was also a good size. The breakfast was good with excellent friendly, prompt service. A really good location for visiting the area and not too busy. Parking was never a problem. It would have been useful to have some plug-in bed side lights rather than battery operated nightlights. Overall, a wonderful stay and we would definitely stay here again. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which enhanced our stay."

Hotel under new management and now called Armstrong Manor, as historic links to Cragside, only comment is to show these links more than just a blue plaque outside, photos, etc Hotel still undergoing changes, so whilst top floor room was a little tired it was very clean and comfortable.
