- "Friendly Northumbrian Hotel/Pub Excellent" - "We had a really excellent 5 day stay. Our room (3) was huge with 2 kingsize beds and a large sofa. Bathroom was also a good size. The breakfast was good with excellent friendly, prompt service. A really good location for visiting the area and not too busy. Parking was never a problem. It would have been useful to have some plug-in bed side lights rather than battery operated nightlights. Overall, a wonderful stay and we would definitely stay here again. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which enhanced our stay."

Some information on how the cooker worked would have been an asset (e.g. cooking times with difference in oven temps for cooking on propane) Contractors were on site whilst we stayed there - still using electric saws and radio turned up loud until 7pm in the evening. Disappointing, for an otherwise excellent stay. All of this was reported to reception upon our departure, who advised that it would noted and passed upward. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful where they could be. We shall return (hopefully contractors will have completed their tasks by then!) "
