- "Lovely stay in centre of village . Room was comfy and spotless with all expected ammenites , Only snag was our view was a wall and not the gorgeous views offered elsewhere. Breakfast was tasty but heads up its a hot / cold buffet . Car parking on site is practically impossible but main seahouses carpark just over the road at a cost of 10 pound for 24 hours . This we learnt could be refunded at hotel if you give in your ticket but as required parking up after leaving carpark was a hassel so chose not to do this . "

The snug affords an additional cosy space to read, watch TV and relax in front of the log burning stove. This is a favourite room of ours in the evenings to relax, read, tell stories and play boardgames.

Upstairs there are 2 kingsize bedrooms, one with ensuite, a twin bedroom with two single beds, and a further double bedroom with views to Bamburgh Castle. All are stylishly furnished with beautiful seaside brightness and natural wooden furnishings.

The tranquil beach vibe is enhanced by original art and crafts sourced both locally and from around the world.

The family bathroom is beautifully fitted with free standing bath, spacious shower and exquisite tiles. Fresh towels and linens are provided.

Enjoy the spacious walled back garden with stunning views across the fields and on to Bamburgh Castle. The patio provides comfortable rattan sofas from which to relax and enjoy a barbeque.

What To Do?
From our cottage you can be on the main beach in 10 minutes and enjoy a fantastic stroll towards Bamburgh Castle. From there you can cut through to village and enjoy a lunch and refreshments. For children - remember to look for the Stag (or magic reindeer is what my children called it!) before exploring the park in Bamburgh.

Alnwick and the famous Alnwick Castle, Gardens and Lilidorei are 20 minutes away by car (remember to take your free car pass to park in village). If that is not enough visit the lovely village centre or the fantastic Barter Books or Aln Railway. There is also a great leisure centre with swimming for rainy days.

Bus Adventure - you can jump on our local bus X18 and go all the way down the Northumberland Coast visiting some lovely fishing villages before terminating at Newcastle. Newcastle has a host of activities too many to mention here for all ages. At time of writing (8/24) we have a special £2 fare which is great value.

The Stables at Westfield is a beautiful barn conversion with exposed roof trusses, stone walls and wood burning stove. The property offers outstanding holiday accommodation for two guests looking for a touch of luxury in a lovely seaside location. The Stables is a great base for exploring this beautiful area - visit the Farne Islands to observe the seabirds and the colony of Grey Seals. 3 miles north is the impressive Bamburgh Castle which clings to a rocky outcrop, and it’s just 5 miles to Holy Island and Lindisfarne (accessible at low tide along the causeway). Just south of Seahouses is Beadnell Bay with its unique west facing harbour for sailing, windsurfing and scuba diving. Good golfing (0,.5 miles), fishing and horse riding available locally.

The Neighborhood:
With a bustling harbour and a seaside holiday resort feel, Seahouses is packed with charisma. Treat the family to a game of crazy golf or go rock pooling. The charming village offers a whole host of tea rooms, restaurants, pubs and shops all within a 0.8 mile walk or drive so you won’t tire of things to do. If you like horse riding, there is a riding school close by and two incredible golf courses on the doorstep.

Hop on one of the boat trips from Seahouses and take a journey to the Farne Islands. Just a couple of miles off the coast, this cluster of islands are one of the UK’s top wildlife experiences. It even has Sir David Attenborough’s stamp of approval as he declared it as his favourite place in the UK to see nature at its best. The Farne Islands are known for its birds with 23 different breeds spotted here, including colourful puffins and razorbills. If you’re lucky enough, you may even see a seal bobbing in the sea whilst you’re on the boat.

Getting Around:
The nearest train station to Seahouses is at Chathill which is 5 miles away. The closest East Coast Main Line train stations are located Alnmouth or Berwick-upon-Tweed which are roughly 30 minutes away from Seahouses by car.

There are great bus services from Seahouses. Hop on the X18 which takes you through to Newcastle with stops in beautiful areas of Northumberland like Amble and Alnwick.

It has a great location just a few minutes walk from the beach, and lovely views towards Bamburgh." - "We visited Northwinds for October half-term with our Daughter, Son-in-Law and three Grandsons. It's a warm house and the rooms are very spacious with two good sized lounges and a large table in the dining room with that fitted all seven of us including our two teenage grandsons. Although there is only one bathroom (which may prove a problem for 'mixed' families) there is an additional toilet and a small vanity basin in the double bedroom, so we managed fine. The best thing by far about Northwinds is it's location and it's lovely views. Five minutes walk to St Aidens bay (fabulous walks along the beach) and 15 minutes walk into Seahouses with its good selection of shops and places to eat. I would highly recommend the Bamburgh Inn for an excellent pub meal and the Neptune for delicious fish and chips."

It even has Sir David Attenborough’s stamp of approval as he declared it as his favourite place in the UK to see nature at its best. The Farne Islands are known for its birds with 23 different breeds spotted here, including colourful puffins and razorbills. If you’re lucky enough, you may even see a seal bobbing in the sea whilst you’re on the boat.

The nearest train station to Seahouses is at Chathill which is 5 miles away. The closest East Coast Main Line train stations are located in Alnmouth or Berwick-upon-Tweed which are roughly 30 minutes away from Seahouses by car.

There are great bus services from Seahouses. Hop on the X18 which takes you through to Newcastle with stops in beautiful areas of Northumberland like Amble and Alnwick.

- "Lovely property and very close to the beach and all amenities " - "I stayed here with my toddler and we had a great time, house is clean, beautifully decorated and well equipped. The managing company however are a bit tight on kitchen roll, dishwasher tablets etc so I recommend bringing your own. Only negative is parking, mainly because the people next door kept parking over our allocated space but it is very tight in the street in general."

Balcony does overlook bins for next door hotel. Communal gardens are not obvious and when found are next to beer garden. Slightly strange set out as the bathroom is huge but sitting area in comparison is quite compact, sofa really not comfortable at all."
