Communication good only downside was entry door was bolted a couple of times by the neighbouring flat however they came down on both occasions to let me in. The bathroom also appeared reasonably clean when we arrived but subsequently was unsatisfactory with used towels scattered and no toilet paper available! Our greatest disappointment was in the inability of Alexanderapartments to fulfil a contract to offer accommodation within walking distance of our destination and to delay notification of this until we were about to set off. The last-minute change to South Shields (a poor substitute) led to another unfilled commitment (to provide travel to the venue) and instead of leisurely walks to and from the event we were attending caused us three hours of queueing and travel in ultra-congested trains thus turning what should have been an unalloyed pleasure into a most unpleasant experience. I reiterate : our main reason - and willingness to pay the significant sum requested - for choosing your Southwick apartments was their location. At the time of booking, there were several significantly cheaper offers in locations similarly-distant to South Shields for which we could have opted. I think Expedia should question whether or not this is a suitable organisation for them to deal with. Alexanderapartments let us down badly."
