- "Greeting from staff was welcoming and informative. I could not use their suggested car park due to height restriction and they were helpful as to alternative arrangements, although unfortunately this does then add onto the cost of your stay, per 24hours. Worryingly, from talking to other staff I got the impression Torquay may have high crime rate, which made me feel uneasy about open air car parking, Room was far better than expected, spacious and clean. I think we may have been upgraded due to time of year and hotel not being fully booked, which was an unexpected bonus. Despite hotel being very well looked after, from a cleanliness point of view, it did appear to have some damp and maintenance issues in the entertainment bar area, but this did not affect our stay. We did feel our booking was good value for money. Regarding the town shopping area, sadly as with many places, there were empty shops and felt run down, on the other hand, seafront area appeared to be well maintained and beach area looked nice. Overall we enjoyed our stay"
