Welcome to The Elephant & Castle a recently restored 300 year old traditional inn located in the centre of Wakefield.

The space
Welcome to The Elephant & Castle in the centre of Wakefield, an almost 300 year old traditional inn that has recently been carefully restored to offer several boutique en-suite rooms above a traditional pub stocking some great cask ales and good wines at fantastic prices.

If you are travelling by train, the property is only a 5 minute walk from Westgate train station which can get you into Leeds in about 10 minutes and all the way to London in just over 2 hours.

If you are travelling by car, there is a pay and display car park to the rear of the property which makes it ideally located for contractors or travellers alike.

The rooms themselves are ensuite bedrooms with a super-king size bed that can be transformed into two single beds. The room features a good sized shower, a TV, blackout curtains, free WIFI and room amenities including tea and coffee, toiletries and a hairdryer.

The pub downstairs is well regarded by the people of Wakefield, having a great selection of drinks available and is a fantastic place to relax at the end of a day, with a pool table, dart board, Sky and BT sports, beer garden and traditional wood burning stove in winter.

If you want to experience what Wakefield has to offer then within a short distance you have the Theatre Royale, The Hepworth Art Gallery, Wakefield Cathedral along with a fantastic array of places to spend the evening.

Please note that the rooms are above a trading pub, and whilst there has been significant investment in sound proofing, you may still hear some noise from the pub whilst it is open to the public. Standard trading hours are midday to 10pm, although these do vary.

There is also currently no food available at the property (although plenty to drink!) and there are no cooking facilities in the room.
