- "These are billed as cabins but only the setting is rustic. Up to date spacious rooms that are airy and light. Clearly designed for outdoor living, eating and relaxing spaces are outside but the bathroom and main room are large and comfortable. Secure as well. The cabins are a bit remote but the directions from the staff are clear, and although we never met in person they were very responsive. The only disturbance, was the train traffic about a mile away but only a problem for light sleepers. "

- "A bed for everyone!" - "My husband and I stayed for 1 night on our way to Kansas City for a baseball game. Phil and Dawn were very gracious and accommodating hosts. The home is also very close to everything Manhattan, KS has to offer. Our room was just as pictured and the bed was extremely comfortable and the en-suite bathroom was spacious and the shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Phil's breakfast consisted of homemade quiche Lorraine, freshly baked bread, fresh fruit from their garden, and locally sourced veggies. It was excellent and kept us full until dinner time. Thank you Phil and Dawn for such an easy and pleasant stay. We hope to return and spend more time enjoying more of what Manhattan and the Flint Hills area has to offer."

The recent home remodel was a complete reset for the property. We basically built a brand-new house inside an old one. The house was taken down to studs and rafters. Walls, bathrooms, and a stairway were all moved and a large fireplace was removed to open up and create a huge living space on both the main-floor and lower level. The home has been remarkably and tastefully decorated with unique mid-century-modern furniture and art pieces that were currated from all over the United States. (For the non-initiated, "mid-century-modern" (MCM) refers to a movement in interior design, product design, graphic design, and architecture that was popular from 1945-1970. The MCM design aesthetic is modern in style and construction. It is typically characterized by clean, simple lines and generally does not include decorative embelishments.)

Outside the walk-out, lower-level, a paver-patio area provides a private oasis for relaxation and enjoyment. This patio was built with brick (saved from the former front patio) and limestone (from the fireplace that was removed during renovation). Make this cozy cottage in a quiet downtown neighborhood your home away from home. Close to KSU campus, Aggieville, and an easy drive to K-State football games. Built in 1928 and completely remodeled, this home is light and open with wonderful hardwood floors, light woodwork, and french doors. Part time artist's studio while not rented out, this home has many unique touches such as original art and an extensive book collection. It's in a quiet neighborhood within 5 minutes of downtown, restaurants, shopping, and the city park. This home sits on a dead end street and has it's own 2 car driveway for off-street parking. This house sits on a corner lot and has a shaded, fenced back yard.

There is a queen size bed in an open room with the dining table near the kitchen. A futon sofa in the living room can convert to a comfortable full size bed. The futon sleeps 2 children or one adult comfortably. Two newly remodeled bathrooms with showers means no wait! Some toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, and lotion provided. All linens provided. If you would rather stay in and cook no problem! The well stocked kitchen has everything you need, and the dining table seats 4. There is a coffeemaker and coffee and tea available. An armoire is available for clothes. There is a desk in the living room and WIFI is available. Kick back and relax in the living room with a book, watch ATT TV, or a DVD. We love our little cottage and hope you do too!
