The recent home remodel was a complete reset for the property. We basically built a brand-new house inside an old one. The house was taken down to studs and rafters. Walls, bathrooms, and a stairway were all moved and a large fireplace was removed to open up and create a huge living space on both the main-floor and lower level. The home has been remarkably and tastefully decorated with unique mid-century-modern furniture and art pieces that were currated from all over the United States. (For the non-initiated, "mid-century-modern" (MCM) refers to a movement in interior design, product design, graphic design, and architecture that was popular from 1945-1970. The MCM design aesthetic is modern in style and construction. It is typically characterized by clean, simple lines and generally does not include decorative embelishments.)

This patio was built with brick (saved from the former front patio) and limestone (from the fireplace that was removed during renovation). This house sits on a corner lot and has a shaded, fenced back yard.

There is a queen size bed in an open room with the dining table near the kitchen. A futon sofa in the living room can convert to a comfortable full size bed. The futon sleeps 2 children or one adult comfortably. Two newly remodeled bathrooms with showers means no wait! Some toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, and lotion provided. All linens provided. If you would rather stay in and cook no problem! The well stocked kitchen has everything you need, and the dining table seats 4. There is a coffeemaker and coffee and tea available. As you drive up to the home you will have access to street parking on the side of the property. Your entrance will be marked with a B on the side of the house. Climb the stairs and enter. To the left is the shared laundry room with a washer/dryer, ironing board, and iron (Our cleaning team may need to use the washer/dryer from 11-3) Straight ahead is another door that is the entrance to the "Note"able Nook Suites. Go down the stairs and to the left is the bathroom, straight ahead is the twin room and to the right is the kitchen and living room. We offer Keurig coffee along with creamers and syrups and an assortment of teas with a tea kettle. We have a 50" TV and a breakfast nook. Also, there is the entrance to the other queen room. Enjoy the music-themed decor throughout this newly remodeled apartment.

The space
This room has a king size bed with dresser/tv. Plenty of empty space in the closet to use anyway you would like while you’re our guest. Hall bath has large vanity top and spacious shower/tub to make getting ready easier for you. We appreciate quiet time between 10pm and 6am- if you need to come and go between those hours that’s no problem just be mindful of the noise.

The common areas are all shared- living room, dinning, laundry, and kitchen. I’m happy to provide water and coffee anytime - common courtesy and respect will be expected with all other drinks and snacks. Happy to provide your own space for food storage as needed.

During your stay
I’m a serial entrepreneur who works during the day and runs two small businesses in my off time. Happy to be social and help anyway I can- also take no offense if you just want to relax in your private room. Moo (bulldog) has never met a stranger and is very good motivated however please reframe from sharing anything with her.

Other things to note
This is shared housing- I live in the master bedroom with my dog Moo. The hall bath is shared between the two guest rooms. No one will be in there unless the other room is being occupied during your stay.

My place is out in the country, but close to Manhattan, KS. If you are wanting to be in town this is not for you--we are about 7 minutes to Manhattan and 12 minutes to K-State, 17 minutes to Bill Snyder Family Stadium. You will drive a short distance on a gravel road. You’ll love my place because of the location (you can see the stars), the ambiance, and the outdoors space. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.

The space
This apartment is on our property but quite separate from our house. The apartment is located on one side of our horse barn. Yes, don’t be surprised, the apartment is adjacent/attached to/in the horse barn. Our horse renter feeds her horses between 6-8 am and 5-8 pm so there may be a little noise in and around the barn at that time and possible horse and goat noises may be heard in the apartment. Our daughter who was attending K-State lived in the apartment for four years but she graduated and got married and now it is ready for guests! There are three rooms: a bedroom (with a queen bed and stored under the bed is a trundle bed), living space (including kitchenette, refrigerator, sink, and apartment sized stove, and a couch), and a nice sized bathroom (two sinks, tub and shower). There is a Roku TV. It is not hooked up to cable. If you put in your user id and password, don't forget to delete it before you go. There is an HDMI you can hook up to your laptop.

You will love walking out and looking at the vast expanse of stars in the nighttime sky. You will have no neighbors (besides the goats and horses, and possible deer, foxes, raccoons, etc.) and tons of privacy. To add a little ambiance and set the mood you can light up the tree right outside the apartment and light a fire in the firepit (if it's safe.) The barn apartment is a safe and quiet retreat to spend some quality time and get away!

Other things to note
We live out in the country--in Kansas. There is a short (half mile) drive on gravel to get to our place. There also will be some flies/bugs during the appropriate times of year, but the apartment has the normal amount of flies that reside out in the country. If you leave the light on there will be many bugs around the door...therefore we don't suggest you leave on the outside light or the inside light right next to the door if you are out and about during the summer. We will not leave the light on for you for this reason so you might have to use a flashlight or your flashlight on your phone to get to the doors--but trust me--it's better than the bugs!

We live close to a lake, but the it is for members only so our guests are not allowed to make use of the lake. Be assured that members are very diligent in asking outsiders to leave.

Comfortable, homey space ideal for couples and small families! Easy access to K-State's games and perfectly situated to access CiCo park and Anneberg park for traveling team games.

The apartment is designed as a studio living area that allows families and friends plenty of room to enjoy conversations, reading, studying or watching TV. The studio area also has plenty of room combining the bedroom and main living space that makes gatherings really comfortable. With the extra space a queen sized air mattress and queen sofa bed can be used for larger groups. Washer and dryer with all supplies is offered to catch up on some laundry. When you look over the pictures of 39 STEP Apartment, we hope you'll notice the apartment is much like most common hotel rooms with lots of space for gatherings but with the unusual access of a separate full kitchen to use as an option to eating out.

In the back of the apartment there is a clean, fully updated bathroom with a shower/bath, plenty of towels and a very comfortable feel.

You will notice that the apartment walks out to a private patio with lawn furniture during the warmer months. The yard is large giving privacy from the surrounding community and a place to sit and recharge, great for kids or pets.

Staying here you'll feel like your part of the neighborhood, with an unassuming air to the area, that allows you to come and go with little notice. Plenty of large trees surround the area that give plenty of privacy and shade during warmer months.

The residence is completely separate from the apartment. The upper level residence is our home. We are amazed how most times we rarely see our guests and meet occasionally while headed to vehicles.

We truly love having guests use a part of our home as an affordable alternative to costly hotels and apartments in the Manhattan area. Many of our guests have left fantastic notes or wonderful suggestions that we appreciate. We hope you will stay with us, not because we're the cheapest or have top ratings, we want you to just blend into the community, enjoying a great place to stay.

We also take pride in accommodating our guest with no hidden fees. What you see on the computer screen is what we charge, that includes up to five guests, cleaning of apartment, extra towels and blankets, space used only by guests, pets welcome, children always welcome, most importantly we would never take advantage of guests traveling and are vulnerable to unethical business practices and the little gotcha's that make life frustrating.

Park on street, follow the path on the left side of the home and enter the first door with a combination door knob (your combination is emailed to you before you arrive). During evenings motion detection lights illuminate as you approach the residence. Please let us know if you will be coming late and we will leave the apartment lights and extra lights illuminated. Three relaxed, adult dogs live in home, but kept separate and quiet. One is large breed who loves visitors and guests. These pets are our walking partners, enjoying walks in the park with us all the time. The dogs really love when we have guests as they don't use the yard, which to them I think is boring, but desiring a walk in the park instead.

As you drive up to the home you will have access to street parking in front of and on the side of the property. Climb the stairs and enter right into the common area with a HUGE flat-screen TV, sofa, and chairs to hang out with friends or family. Straight ahead is a fully equipped kitchen with a table to enjoy your meals at. We offer Keurig and french press coffee along with
creamers and syrups and an assortment of teas with a tea kettle. The laundry room is off the kitchen with a washer, dryer, ironing board & iron. (Our cleaning team may need to use the washer/dryer from 11-3). You will LOVE the decor of this house with a simple and clean feel while having touches of Kansas throughout!

We long to build strong friendships with people and be their "go-to" place to stay when they or anyone else from their company comes to stay!

This apartment and one of four units in a historic home. It has tons of charm and character. It is centrally located half block from City Park in a nice, quiet neighborhood. The private apartment has its own locking entrance with a beautiful wood staircase at the front of the house.
This apartment has a great room with the kitchen, dining and living areas all combined into one large space, tons of storage with 2 closets, study, and a large pantry as well as the main clothing closet.

a peaceful neighborhood home open to your visit. this downstairs living area has two bedrooms and a bathroom available just for you! with access to the kitchen, dining, laundry, garage for storage, family room for TV and comfortable beds. I've been a host in different places for several years so you can expect a comfortable and clean stay. while I do live upstairs you'll have plenty of privacy as you visit the city of manhattan! everything from aggiville, airport, and golf a short drive away.

my home has an upstairs with the living room and kitchen as well as my living area. down stairs has your two bedrooms and bathroom as well as a family area with TV.

there is a J-1772 EV charging station setup in my garage so if you drive electric I can help you.
