THE SPACE
Lee's House is newly renovated to with a bright & airy feel and we can't wait for you to experience it!

There are 3 bedrooms. The 1st floor master bedroom sleeps 2 with a king bed. On the 2nd floor, the first bedroom sleeps 1-3, with a bunk bed that has a twin on top, and 2 twins or 1 king on the bottom (your choice). The other bedroom sleeps 2, with a queen bed and walk-in closet. Each bedroom has a fan & AC. We are a child-friendly unit, if you need of a Pack n' Play and/or highchair, please let me know and we will have it setup upon arrival.

Enjoy the spa-like bathroom with a bubble bath or a separate standup shower - your choice! Get cozy in the living room on the sleeper sofa (turns into a double bed) while enjoying the electric fireplace, 55" Smart TV and overlooking the lake across the street. We offer Disney+ & Hulu to all our guests, feel free to log into your own accounts for other streaming services. The eat-in kitchen is fully stocked with kitchen tools & essentials. As a chef myself, I wanted to make sure one has the tools to make anything they want to. If there is something specific you are looking for, please reach out to me!

Ready to BBQ? We have an outdoor dining table, dinnerware, and a grill ready for you. We also have an outdoor fireplace.

There is no street parking. There is a designated driveway which can hold a 2-car max. NOTE: If you have more an 2 cars, please reach out so I can coordinate prior.

We are located within minutes of lake activities for you to enjoy. Walking distance to some of the lake's top attractions such as Jefferson House, Windlass, Alice's, Miss Lotta, Lake Hopatcong Adventure Co & Golf Club. There are multiple marinas within minutes driving where you can rent a boat or launch your own. We are 5 minutes away from Lee's Marina, another park where you can launch your boat for a daily fee. The best place to swim is at Mt Arlington Beach or Hopatcong State Park. Please check out my guidebook for more marina & swimming locations in the area.

Guests have use of the entire unit except for the basement and cleaner's closet, which are locked. You have full access to the backyard and deck. Please note the property is share with a guesthouse and a studio. In which, access is not permitted (unless you are renting it too). Smoking is not permitted in the house. You can smoke outside in the backyard and deck.

A large stone gas fireplace is a centerpiece of this large living area. A large set of sliders open up to a large 38x14 ft. deck with sliver-proof composite planking. The three burner Weber grill is just steps away from the kitchen making grilling a breeze 4 seasons a year. The kitchen is equipped with a large premium refrigerator, ice cube maker, dishwasher, two coffee makers, microwave, toaster, triple filtered drinking water and all the cooking accessories you need. The Southeast lake views offer brilliant sunny mornings yet you can escape the heat of the afternoon. There are two large bedrooms on this level and a large premium full bathroom. One 14x11 ft bedroom features a queen size bed and the other 13x12 ft bedroom has two single beds as we find many of our guests prefer this configuration. A side door leads to a pantry foyer and out to a very private patio that features a brand new Hot Tub. The hot tub is available year round and there is never a day too cold to enjoy its soothing waters and in this private location. Back in the house, a staircase leads up to the third level where you will find the 330 square ft Master Suite. With breathtaking views from high above the lake, you will enjoy a King Bed with brand new mattress, a huge walk in closet and a oversized bathroom with a large shower and a jacuzzi tub.

From the main level, stairs lead down the ground level with large windows that overlook the lake. There you will find the indoor Sauna, a 4th bedroom featuring a twin over full bunk bed and another twin bed. There is also a full bath and a game area.

When you walk down the steps from the main level deck or out the door from the ground level, steps take you down to two separate grassy areas and a 50 ft lake frontage. A distinguishing feature of this property is a huge 39x32 Boathouse build over the water at the end of an 80 ft concrete dock. Steps lead up to an incredible 400 square foot deck where you are virtually surrounded by the lake. And off the deck is a 19x12 enclosed game room that features the ping pong table.

If you have a boat or jet skis, there is docking on both sides of the boathouse. Large concrete stairs lead right down into the water for swimming and wading. Between the bulkhead and the boathouse the water is not too deep so its a perfect place to let the kids play.

We are avid kayakers and we invite our guests to use our premium Wilderness Systems kayaks. You won't find cheap plastic Walmart specials here... a 17 foot Sealution XL will glide thru both flat or wavy water with ease and its effortless to get this craft to 5.5 MPH using my carbon fiber paddle. The other kayak is the 16 foot Freedom for those paddlers who prefer a sit on top configuration... but with a twist.. this kayak is considered the fastest sit on top kayak made. With 43 miles of shoreline to discover, kayaking and boating is incredible on Lake Hopatcong. I will provide paddles and life jackets. I also have rafts and floats if you prefer a more leisurely ride on the water. Please bring your own water shoes and sunscreen!

Today, the Lake is is knows as the largest in New Jersey with 43 miles of shoreline and is very popular for fishing, water sports and restaurant-hopping via boat. There are numerous restaurants and bars in the vicinity, including one just a very short walk away, and also all around the lake featuring lake views and the ability to "boat hop". And the NY/NJ Highlands Trail crosses just 0.2 miles away from the house (you can walk or drive to the trailhead and this section of the trail is outstanding and you will have 6000 acres of lovely terrain to yourself. Your hosts will be delighted to recommend a restaurant, additional places to take a hike in the lovely NJ Highlands, or a day trip.

- "It was very comfortable and spacious for the 6 of us both inside and outside, several places with comfortable seating. The kitchen was fully stocked and there were plenty of linens/ towels. There were plenty of water toys, a ping pong table and more to keep the kids busy. Bob is a very pleasant host who responds immediately to any questions. The neighbor was very friendly too." - "We can't wait to come back. The house truly feels like a home and is so comfortable. We had some tropical/sudden/intense storms when we were here so we went out at every opportunity to soak up the sun, floating in the lake or reading on the deck. We even grilled a bit in the rain and enjoyed the hot tub while a storm rolled in. We also took the Miss Lotta dinner cruise which is nearby. Next time we'll have to hit the mini golf, hiking trails, and rent the boat. There's also a great selection of restaurants and a 24/7 ShopRite we used a lot. Some things to note--not negatives but FYIs: This property is on a cliffside and to get up and down you'll need to climb a lot of stairs. Bob is super responsive and has a list of reasonable requests for the safety of people and property that you'll have to keep in mind. Also, while the kitchen was amazing the pots and pans are very well-loved so next time I'll bring my own cookware. Thank you so much Bob for the incredible stay."

At the bottom of the hill, you will find a shed full of water toys such as inflatable floats, noodles and lounge chairs There is a private launch to launch your small boat, jetski, kayak, or canoe, and also a dock slip for your use to park the watercraft you may have rented from the multiple surrounding marinas.
There are many miles of outstanding hiking and off road vehicle trails that can be reached just steps from the property at the Prospect point preserve.

There's also 2 full size tennis courts as well as 2 full size basketball courts and a children's playground right down the street. There are many great places to eat on the water such as Lola's, Chapala's, The Stonewater, Pavinci's, The Windlass or Alice's, or on land such as the famous Jefferson Diner, Pub 199 or one of our favorites, Little Nicki's which is also, right down the street at Prospect point playground.

A little about the lake itself: Lake Hopatcong is only an hour from NYC yet it feels like a different world out here once you are immersed in "lake time". The lake has a long and rich history, discovered by the Lenape Indians 14,000 years ago, this was the chic destination for New York actors and socialites at the turn of the century and the roaring 20s. Today, the Lake is is knows as the largest in New Jersey with 43 miles of shoreline and is very popular for fishing, water sports and restaurant-hopping via boat. There are numerous restaurants and bars in the vicinity and also all around the lake featuring lake views and the ability to "boat hop".

The space
Our two bedroom, one bathroom 950 square foot lake house provides plenty of space for a group of up to six to get to enjoy lakefront living. Wake up early, brew some coffee and walk out to your own private dock to watch the sunrise or stay up late visiting the seven different bars and restaurants on Lake Hopatcong. If you'd like to stay home and cook in, you can prepare a delicious meal in our well appointed kitchen, with a Weber grill outside on the patio. With brand new mattresses you'll be sure to get a great night sleep waking up ready to get back outside and explore the four mile hike to Liffy Island and back from just down the road. Our home offers easy private parking for three cars, with a flat lawn and easy access to the dock and lake. Our home also has only 10 stairs outside our home and is conducive for guests who have challenges with walking but our home would not be considered handicap accessible.

The water is potable but if you do want to bring your own 5-gallon jug to put on the water machine, we do have one of those as well.

This home is situated in a relatively quiet neighborhood with quiet neighbors with kids. This is a great house to enjoy and relax, have a bbq, with friends and or family. This is not a party house though. There are other houses on the lake where partying late is what it's all about. This is a home for someone who wants to enjoy their days but not be woken up at night by some party animals going all night.

This house is directly on the lake, not across the street from the lake, not a house behind another house on the lake, and not a house with only lake access, only lake views. You are on the lake with a dock. Experienced licensed boaters can use the dock to park their boats. No rental boat docking.

Like many lake houses, there are a decent amount of stairs to the lake (not too many from the street). This is not recommended if the stairs would be physically challenging to you.

Upstairs bathroom has new tiles, vanity, and toilet. Completely new bathroom downstairs, with many updates throughout the home. I am continuously making improvements to the home so sometimes you will get a welcome surprise that improves the property over the pictures shown. I do update them though as soon as I can.

This is a 2 bedroom with large entertainment kitchen and 2 full bathrooms. You will have use of the patio overlooking the lake while you grill. You can hang out on the lawn or dock. There are over 9 restaurants/bars on the lake, each with different views and atmosphere. Eat at a different place each night. I can even provide some suggestions depending on what you are looking for and your mood. I have a guide in the house as well.

There are boat rentals available at the local marinas, such as Lake's End and Sanbar Marina. You can call them and tour the lake. Take the boat to the famous Byram Cove and relax with hundreds of other boats.

Boat or drive to the Mini Golf Course at Alice's. I highly recommend Alice's for their food and atmosphere as well. Great hilltop views.

The house has off-street parking for 2 cars. This property is limited to 2 cars as there can be limited off-street parking. There are woods behind the house to add to that vacation feeling. There are plenty of parks locally for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, or whatever you like to do in the woods.

Features 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, deck, patio, private lake access and dock directly across the street. The back yard is a sanctuary nestled into the mountain and surrounded by trees! The ideal environment to connect w/nature, yourself and loved ones.

Light and bright open concept living room, dining and kitchen combination with cathedral ceilings and skylights. The living room has 2 love seats w/built-in recliners, a beautiful electric fireplace, wall mounted flat panel TV and French doors leading to a large deck with lake views. Guests have use basically of the entire home compromised of mainly of the first floor and the partially finished basement. The deck, patio area below deck, the dock with lake access are all accessible for guest. The rear yard runs deep and is extremely sloped and mountainous. It is accessible however exercise great cautious if climbing rocks/mountain in yard. Deer can be found roaming at back.

Kayaks are provided seasonally for free however prior to use, guest(s) are required to complete liability, indemnification, hold harmless waiver.

All are welcome however, please note the following:
1.) The home is perched up into the mountain. There are approximately three flights of stairs to access the main entry of home located on the deck. The stairs are steep because of the slope of the property.
2.) The property may not be suitable for children, infants or the elderly population due to the steepness and amount of the steps as well as the rocky and mountainous terrain that makeup the landscape of the property.

The space
House is located down about 70 stairs from street/driveway. If you're OK with stairs, you'll love the location. Beautiful scenic views, incredible sunrises, and great for water sports.

Other things to note
House is perfect size for up to 3 adults and up to 5 total with children. It might be tight with more than 3 adults since there's just (1) Queen bed and (1) Twin bed. The other two beds are a futon and an air mattress.

The space:
Private lakefront house on a level lot with direct access to the lake (no stairs.) This property is great for families and groups looking for a longer stay or just a long weekend. In the first level you will find the bedroom with a queen bed, shared bathroom, washer/dryer, kitchen and dining room area. The second level is a huge high ceiling open space that has a bedroom setup with two queen beds and living room area with balcony.

Our home is a two bedroom, 1.5 bath lake front property on the northern shores of Lake Hopatcong that comfortably sleeps 6. Each bedroom is equipped with a queen bed and the third bed is a pull out couch that is also a queen. You'll have complimentary access to a canoe and kayak, which we require you to wear life jackets when using. The deck is massive and overlooks the serene beauty of the lake. The lake front property allows you to experience the fullness of Lake Life!

- "She had a video camera perched inside the house pointing towards the driveway - it has a two way speaker. This is against VRBO's policy, you know, the one she didn't read. I unplugged the camera and she asked me to plug it back in. When I stopped making excuses and finally said it made me uncomfortable, she said "it points outside." I didn't respond. She then notified me that her AND her husband were stopping by to get things out of the garage that weekend. She asked the neighbors if we were throwing parties, then notified me she wasnt coming by after all. On another occasion I switched cars, and she accused me of letting someone else stay there....! You can't swim or fish off the dock, if that's important to you, this isn't the place. An obnoxiously loud window AC is right next to a not very comfortable bed, with cheap sheets (the kind that are thin but still make you sweat because they are essentially plastic). She also sent me the contact info for her cleaning lady, because who wouldn't want to pay a cleaning fee AND a cleaning person!? The place has some upsides...the view. Stay was spoiled by the whole helicopter landlord feeling...and insidious lack of sleep."

As you step onto the property, you will first notice the gorgeous Hopatcong lake views. This cottage includes a beautiful outdoor patio with outdoor furniture and a fire-pit, so that you can enjoy the views year round!

Stepping though the front door, you will be ushered into the main living room. This living space is outfitted with an over-sized full leather sectional, perfect for the whole family. You will notice the 4k smart tv equipped with every internet channel you might desire. And don't forget, full lake views sit right out the window for 24/7 enjoyment.

From there, you can make you way into the fully modernized kitchen. This space boasts full marble backsplash and countertops. All of the appliances are brand new stainless to make your modern dinner dreams come true.

In the corner of the kitchen, you will find our coffee bar, complete with everything you would need to make the perfect cup in the morning. The kitchen comes fully furnished with every glass/plate/cutlery/pot/pans/etc, that you imagine.

The main floor also includes a fully tiled, luxury bathroom equipped with everything you'd need for the perfect spa-style shower experience! We include all of the soaps you'll need for you stay away from home.

As you make your way upstairs to the bedroom area, you will first find a quaint reading nook for you spend your time catching up on your reading. Next you will see the office area, equipped with a natural grain desk with office chair for a perfect working environment. Spend your day working from home and watching the water go by!

The master bedroom loft is equipped with a 12 inch gel memory Foam queen mattress that is guaranteed to set you right to sleep. The oversized pillows and luxury bedding are sure to make your night as comfy as possible. And, don't worry, there is ample storage space for your clothing in the closet area.

Guests will have full access to the cottage. One parking space as well as the upper outdoor patio deck.

It was end of fall season and it mostly rained on the weekend we stayed but the quietness and tranquility was nice. Inside it is just as you see in the pics. Very clean and with everything you need. It’s quite small inside but they really accommodated everything inside to still keep it roomy and not cluttered. Overall we enjoyed our stay but would not bring others with us as it’s just right for two people. If I had one complaint it would be the parking. You get just one spot and it’s quite small length wise. My car was small and fit just right but can’t imagine how my truck would fit there. Other than that we would definitely stay here again. Price was very reasonable and communication from host was on point. Love, love, love the view of the lake from here as well."

Welcome to Lake Hopatcong!

This is a lakefront home. It's not a house across the street from the lake. It is not a house behind another house on the lake. It is not a house with just lake rights. It's not even a house in front of another house on the lake. This house is right on the lake with a dock with beautiful views all year round. You will have private parking for one car.

Please read on to make sure this apartment is a good fit for you. I like to be transparent, so people are happy.

The Interior was just painted. New glass top stove. New mini-split AC/heating system. The bathroom was recently remodeled a few years ago. The outside was just redone as well and still working on it. Lots of updates and more to come so each time you come back you'll see new additions.

This is the downstairs of a two-family home. If hearing someone occasionally walking upstairs, or you are a light sleeper, this would possibly not be a good fit for you. No one is upstairs most of the winter. The property is shared with a really nice upstairs tenant that works during the day. It's a quiet neighborhood with a young family next door so we are not looking for party people to stay here. There is a decent amount of steps (about 25) to walk down to get to the door so keep that in mind. There is a grill outside for your use and the patio is shared but the upstairs tenant rarely uses it because he has his own grill and patio area that he uses. He will pass by to access his boat as will I and my family on occasion. There are camera's on the exterior of the property. I do not monitor them. They are there for emergencies. Please contact me if an emergency arises.

Summer, Fall, Winter, or Spring there are things to enjoy. Ice fishing, snowmobiles, ice skating, or just walking to the local bars on the lake are a great experiences. Mountain Creek is about a 35 min drive on scenic back roads or head over to PA for various places to ski or snowboard. Mountain bikers paradise with 100's of trails in the area.

Any stays over 58 days require an application, which will include items like a credit check, referrals, income verification, rental history, etcetera. The fee the service charges is under $40 and can be paid by credit card. If you are staying for less than 58 days, this does not apply. Please let me know if you have any questions.

This is probably best for a single person, but I have had 2 people stay as well.

This lovely updated and upscale lakeside home offers three levels and is tastefully decorated with high end furnishings. Exceptional location on highly desirable deep water Davis Cove with stunning views of Lake Hopatcong main channel. The Lake House offers spacious bedrooms, beautiful landscaping, brand new 50 Ft dock and large lakeside deck/seating, wood burning fireplace, game room, fully equipped kitchen, new hot tub right on the lake, swimming, fishing/ice fishing, and close to restaurants and bars. The property is lovely all four seasons a year. Great for a family vacation, gathering of responsible friends, special occasion, business travel or a romantic get-away.

The meticulous landscaping offers many varieties of ornamental shrubs and flowers. We think you will agree that this is one of the best locations on the lake in the deep water Davis Cove amidst the multimillion dollar historic estate homes.

There are three spacious bedrooms upstairs including our large master bedroom with a comfy king size bed, sliders that open to a balcony, and stunning views of the lake even as you lay in bed. Bedroom #2 features charming antique furniture and a full-size bed. Bedroom #3 has two very comfortable single beds. There is one full bath upstairs and also a new washer and dryer (detergent and bleach provided). Additional comforters and blankets are provided. Bath towels will be put out on all the beds when you check in.

A covered front porch leads to the main level. The open floor-plan on the main level offers a fully appointed kitchen with with microwave, dishwasher, toaster, two coffee machines (a drip and a Keurig), gas range/oven, wine cooler and higher quality cookware/cutlery/ accessories (I.e Wustoff Professional knives, Caphalon cookware, etc.). The main living area has a large wood burning fireplace (wood is included), 55" HDTV Smart TV with Blu-Ray DVD (I have provided a Blue Ray DVD library), a Netflix account for use by guests and internet access, all the premium movie channels and premium on demand movies and a Bluetooth sound system that will play music off your smart phone. Free high speed WiFi is available all around the house, deck and dock. The main level also features a full bath and a 4th bedroom if you need it with a trundle bed that sleeps 1 to 2. The dining table comfortably seats 6-8 with 3 more seats at the kitchen counter. There is a spacious deck off sliders that overlooks the lake with a table/chairs/lounge and a high quality Weber Genesis gas BBQ grill purchased in 2016 (available for our guests).

A walk out game room (Shelti professional tournament quality Foosball table, board games, card table) is on the lower level which is also equipped with a small kitchen and a half bathroom.

A few more steps down and you are on a large 50x20 Ft. deck right on the water which features a sofa, chairs, umbrellas and a guest favorite - a newer 4 person Signature Spa hot tub . The 50ft dock is perfect for fishing or you can tie-up your own boat or jet ski (or rent one from the many marinas on the lake OR you can rent my boat through Boatbound or Boatsetter). A staircase leads down into the water for swimming in the largely sand bottomed lake. We can provide flotation devises, swim rafts, water-skis and a 3-4 man towable tube with all the riggings. Bring water shoes, particularly for the kids. Bring your own Kayak or you can use our Kayaks - one is a 14 ft. Necky Maribou for more experienced paddlers and one is a high end fiberglass Hurricane Skimmer 116 sit-on-top which is perfect for novices and kids. And don't forget your fishing poles - Lake Hopatcong is one of prime freshwater fisheries on the East Coast.

Guest have access to the whole house except for three locked storage areas, one on each level. There is parking for 3-4 cars maximuim. In warm months, our boat may be docked there and its off limits.. although there is ample room for a boat or PWC if you bring your own or rent one. If you want to rent my Sea Ray 180 Sport stern drive motorboat, I can tell you how to go on Boatbound / Boatsetter where you can rent it... its cheaper and far more convenient than the local marinas... but like the marinas, you must have an experienced boat pilot in your party. I can provide a 3-4 man tube for lake tubing and I also have waterskis.

Bob, your host, lives in the area and are available to assist you to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Also ask about my other rental on the lake if you wish to coordinate the stay of larger parties across the two houses. Both of my lake rentals are rated #1 and #2 in the whole NNJ market based on guest reviews! I take a lot of pride in hosting and strive to do both the big things and little things that will make your stay memorable. Bob will stop by a couple times a week to test the hot tub, water the many potted plants (warm months) and check to see if there is anything you need. I prefer to personally hand-over the keys at check-in and explain the amenities of the house and home safety. All guests must be announced. And please ask about local restaurants, bars, attractions and shopping.... I will leave you menu's for local restaurants and can provide recommendations any time during your stay.

The Area: Deep-water Davis Cove is one of the nicest spots on Lake Hopatcong with 180 degrees lake views. The Lake itself has a long and rich history, discovered by the Lenape Indians 14,000 years ago, this was the chic destination for New York actors and socialites at the turn of the century and the roaring 20s. Today, the Lake is knows as the largest in New Jersey with 43 miles of shoreline and is very popular for fishing, water sports and restaurant-hopping via boat. Our home is on a quiet side street with little traffic and the neighborhood is perfect for walking, running with side roads and hills. There are numerous restaurants in the vicinity and also all around the lake.

Getting Around: 10 minutes from NJ Transit stop in Landing and 15 min from I-80. One hour from NYC and two hours from Philly. Again, there are many restaurants and bars all around the lake and several restaurants and convenience stores within 15 min walk.

Other Things to Note: Off-street parking is limited to 3-4 cars and if you are expecting any visitors who are NOT part of the guest number in your reservation, you must discuss with Bob. This is NOT A PARTY RENTAL and please be respectful to my neighbors. Boat rentals are offered at a number of marinas around the lake and my powerboat is also available to rent .. just ask me for the details. Lake tours and dinner cruises are offered on the Miss Lotta. If you do go boating, please let me point out a few spots where there are rocks.

Guests have access to the entire property (shown on the listing )except garage, and area that has no access sign on, which are mostly personal storage or machine rooms.
Other things to note
There are outside cameras overlook surroundings of the property, which is required by insurance company. TVs work in the main living room, kitchen area, master bedroom and cinema. The basement sound system and dance lighting system are not in use. Pool opens in May, winterized at the end of Sep. Pool heating is scheduled to run from 9am-6pm targeting a temperature of 80 degree. When the highest air temperature is above 85 degree each day during guests stay, pool heater won’t be running. Pool waterfall is scheduled to run for 10 minutes at noon only. The small waterfalls at the pond run 24/7. The other 3 water falls at the pond run 4-6hrs alternatively every day. Indoor fireplaces are for decoration only. Guests bring burning wood for outdoor fire pit.

The full kitchen and outdoor barbecue setup are ready for your use, with more details upon arrival for using the fireplace, etc.
