Brand new First Basin Lake James rental located in Steuben County, Indiana on the most sought after chain of lakes in the State! SLEEPING:
Comfortably sleeps 9. The master bedroom is on the main floor and features a king bed and attached remodeled master bath with large soaker tub and separate shower. There are two large bedrooms upstairs – one with a queen bed and attached full bath and one with a queen and a twin bed. There is also a relatively private den with a queen size pullout sofa.

LAKE:
Located on a recently dredged channel only three homes from the main part of Jimmerson Lake and a 5 minute boat ride to Lake James. After dredging, the channel is now 45 feet wide and 5 - 6 feet deep. You'll have two dock spaces to accommodate most any type of boat - feel free to ask if you have questions about your boat. If you don't have your own, you can rent pontoons or fishing boats down the street at 'Corner Landing'. As part of the all sports Lake James chain, you have access to over 2,000 acres of water on 5 lakes: Lake James, Jimmerson Lake, Snow Lake, Big Otter Lake, and Little Otter Lake. The Lake James chain offers great swimming at several sandy public beaches and sand bars.

YARD:
Unique for a lake house, the large, flat 1/2 acre lot gives you plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors with a family cookout, bonfire, or lawn games. The house has a large deck, big level grassy area, two sets of tables and chairs, a gas and a charcoal grill, and a fire pit. Wildlife frequent the area including heron, swans, ducks, turtles, and deer.

LOCATION:
The location is quiet but still very convenient – just a few minutes from I-69 or the Indiana toll road and walking distance to downtown Lake James with its restaurants and bars (Tom’s Donuts, Acapulco Mexican Grill, Club Paradise). It’s also just a few miles from Indiana’s best state park, Pokagon, which features beaches, hiking, and a toboggan run in the winter. Also nearby is the town of Angola with its cute downtown square, ice cream shops, mini-golf, Trine University, Fremont outlet mall, Satek Winery, Wild Winds Buffalo Preserve, and golf courses including Glendarin Hills, Zollner, and Lake James.

Pontoons regularly tour the basin. The fish are plentiful too! You can also just relax and enjoy watching the action from the decks or shore. Weekly 7 day rental runs Friday (4pm check-in) to Friday (10am check-out) from May 24th holiday week to Labor Day holiday week. Winter, spring, fall only require a 3 day minimum. - "Really loved this place. Great collection of toys for kids both in the house and at the water. We loved having 2 living spaces one on the ground floor near the kitchen and one in the basement for the kids with games toys and a tv. The older people with us had trouble with the hill from the boat dock to the house, the incline followed by the stairs was a bit much for them. We rented a boat for the week, it was a large pontoon and it did fit on the dock. Would absolutely return and recommend."

We are equipped for any quick last minute stays, but it’s also prepared for any long term stay needs as well. This is less than one mile from the city mound. It’s located on and bike trail that leads you to the beautiful Pokagon State Park.

Main Floor - Boasts a large open concept Kitchen Entertainment area with ample cooking space and a large island, and kitchen table that shares the entertainment living room area for ultimate inside entertaining!

Upper Floor - Our master bedroom with walk out to upper patio is very ample boasting a large walk through closet area (one side has room for an infant sleeping area) to a 5 piece bathroom. There is a queen size bedroom overlooking the lake, along with a kids bunkbed bedroom with full size bed, and another queen size bedroom. Our mid level has another bedroom with a full size bed.

Outside - We absolutely love our Outside Oasis!. Our home has an upper deck for quiet nights or overlooking the "lakefront grounds" with a gorgeous view. The lower patio area that walks out from the Main level has a huge BBQ with prep cart, 6 seat patio table along with a picnic table beside it. Walking towards the lake, we have a beautiful patio with a view that is also absolutely gorgeous with ample seating and space for a large family. Moving down towards the lake our Mid level boasts some loungers for those wishing to "soak up the sun". At the lake there is a dock for fishing, boats, and a grassy area for lounging. Yes we said "gorgeous" more than once, because we think you are going to love our Outside Oasis!

The main floor's open kitchen and entertainment area provided a fantastic space for family bonding and gathering. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the large island and kitchen table allowed us to cook and actually all eat together- huge plus! Overall, an ideal space for relaxation and entertainment. The rest of the house was equally impressive. The walkout patio off the master was the perfect spot for my husband and I to enjoy a morning cup of coffee before joining the rest of the family for a day of adventure. The other bedrooms provided ample sleeping arrangements for everyone. The outside oasis truly lived up to its name! Between the BBQ, patio table, and picnic table, we were all even able to eat right next to the stunning lake. We highly recommend this vacation rental to families seeking a memorable getaway."

The cottage is super clean, obviously recently renovated so everything is updated, plenty of space for 6 people.The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking gear, grill and laundry on site.Lake Gage is not busy- perfect for enjoying some peace and quiet, yet stores in Angola are only minutes away.The neighbors are friendly- everyone waves as they go past! Travis was a great communicator, always answering my questions right away. We are from Minnesota, so we have rented many lake homes and yet Travis's cottage/Lake Gage was, by far, the best we've experienced. We'll be back next summer!"

Angola is nestled in the heart of lake country; you can spend your days on the lake and come relax in the evening. Or spend your day hiking the trails of beautiful Pokagon State Park, located just 7 miles. The home is located across the street from the local elementary school, the playground and basketball court are open for use during now school hours. The master bedroom is on the main level situated next to the full bathroom and just off the sitting room. The sitting room has stocked bookshelves, puzzles, chairs, and a puzzle table. There is an exterior door from the sitting room to the side porch with additional seating. The dining room table has room for 8 around it, and the peninsula has seating for another 5. The kitchen has a gas stove, fridge/freezer with water and ice, and dishwasher. There is also a butlers kitchen hosting coffee maker, coffee grinder, air fryer, toaster oven, mini fridge and 2nd sink. The living room has a sectional couch and a smart tv. Upstairs has 3 bedrooms each with a dresser(the closets are not available for use.) 1 room with a full bed, another with a queen bed, and the third has twin bunks as well as a full.
There is a nice size yard with trees, a front porch, back porch, and side porch for sitting. The back porch has a container with some kids toys.

Mad Mag's is just a few blocks away from my beautiful town, historic highway 20 and Trine University. Angola is a hidden gem, and you will love it. My house is great for just a night's rest or for a lovely experience with coffee shops, antique shops, and historic walks. The neighborhood is safe and parking is off the street! Just a note, the room is up the staircase!

The space
This lovely room has two twin beds and features a sea motif, specifically from Ocracoke Island, North Carolina. (And, no, Blackbeard never appears!) My house is over a hundred years old and is tucked into this sweet town. The room is upstairs and the bathrooms are shared. Sometimes other guests roam the halls, but that is what makes it fun here. I also offer a double bed in the room across the hall. That is under my "House at White Picket Gardens" listing. Go ahead and rent all the spaces for your family! Hope to see you soon!

Angola, Indiana is a picturesque town in northern Indiana. My house is over 100 years old with much charm. The backyard is lovely as well as the neighborhood. It is great for biking with coffee shops, antique shops and the library close by. The location of the house is just a few blocks from historic highway 20 and Trine University! There are extra bikes in the garage if time allows! This is a double room but I do offer another room with twin beds under the name "Mad Mag's Boarding House!"

This lovely room is located upstairs in my house. It is a room with a double bed. I also offer a room with twin beds under "Mad Mag's Boarding House!" My house is old and charming. We all share the spaces, and it is sweet and cozy.

While visiting the House at White Picket Gardens, you will have access to the kitchen for cooking, the porch, the yard, and other rooms of the house. I like for my guests to feel at home in using the whole house. Please store food in the fridge...sit in the garden or by the campfire...or settle back in the living room with a good movie. Oh, did you ask about books? I have many to choose from...magazines too.

During your stay
Usually I am around to visit and chat with my guests. I do love that part. However, on occasion I myself am away and you have the domain to yourself. I enjoy learning about my guests and sharing experiences, although I know when someone is just too tired to talk and needs to go to bed. Sometimes that is even me!!

This apartment has a private keyed entrance on the lower level of the home with a large lighted patio garden amongst the trees and three outdoor seating areas. Fire pit, lawn chairs, swing set and volley ball net also available.

A huge family room has a sofa queen bed, dining area, smart television, and high-speed wifi.

The tranquil master suite has a new queen-size Casper mattress with a cooling topper, lots of closet space, a ceiling fan, and a full bathroom with a bathtub and shower.

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay.
Come share a great place to unwind from a long day of driving or simply relax and enjoy the quiet setting. We are very pet friendly so if you’re traveling with your dog or cat you are welcome here. We have two dogs that couldn’t be more different. Buddy the Coon Hound loves everyone and will want your attention. Billy the Blue Heeler mix is shy and will likely avoid all contact. But both do well with other dogs.

The space
The space you have is the walkout basement of our home. With 9’ ceilings, large windows and quality finishes, it ‘s easy to forget it is a basement space. There is one bedroom with a queen bed. There is also a full private bath with accessible no- step shower with adjustable shower seat. The main room includes a queen Murphy bed as well as seating area and Smart TV. Off the main room is the patio with table and seating as well as the hot tub.
There is a full size refrigerator off the main room along with coffee maker, microwave and toaster.
You are free to use the gas grill provided on the deck off our sunroom. Utensils provided.

Guest access
You have access to the full lower level of our house except for a locked storage room. You are free to use the gas grill located on the deck off our sunroom.
The open spaces are yours to enjoy. The fire pit is steps from the lake shore and the fishing is good from the shore or off the dock and seawall. Plenty of bass, bluegill and crappie. As this is a private lake there is no license requirement.

During your stay
Both myself and my cohost, Greta, are available should you have any questions or concerns. I do enjoy spending time with guests but also respect your space and your wishes.

Other things to note
We’re just 2 miles from the campus of Trine University and about 3 miles from the center of town.
Beautiful Pokagon State Park is just 7 miles to the north. There you’ll find hiking, horseback riding, a very nice nature center staffed with knowledgeable folks, and if you’re here after Thanksgiving you can try the toboggan run.
We’re a short drive from Indiana Amish country. If you enjoy flea markets, it’s hard to beat Shipshewana.
If you just want to unwind after a long drive I would suggest a dip in the hot tub or just sit and enjoy the view from your patio or start a fire in the fire pit and make some s’mores.
If you brought your dog along, feel free to let them run. Water dogs do love to chase sticks in the lake.

The cabin itself does not have lake access. It is across the street from Crooked Lake. There is access on the other side of the lake at a public beach and public boat ramp, a 2 mile drive or one mile walk or bike ride, Steuben County Park- 100 Lane 101 Crooked Lake, Angola IN 46703.

There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed.

Centrally located in Angola, With 4 bedrooms including 2 queen beds, twin bed, full bed, and twin bunk bed, guests will have plenty of space to relax. Located 0.6 mile from both downtown Angola and Trine Univers ity. This is a perfect location for both exploring historic Angola and visiting Trine. Angola is nestled in the heart of lake country; you can spend your days on the lake and relax in the evening or spend your day hiking the trails of beautiful Pokagon State Park, located just 7 miles.

We get our unique name because we are located near the Jimmerson Lake Dam. Nestled in Nevada Mills. THIS IS NOT A LAKESIDE PROPERTY. We do NOT have a private boat slip. The space
Very open concept living space. One bedroom loft upstairs and a large pull out couch for 2 other guests, a couch for a 5th person. Private patio to enjoy relaxing in the sun. In the late evenings and early mornings, the deer come out to eat. There's a large public patio with outdoor seating out front. A propane Fire Pit to enjoy. Private parking spot for guests and a private parking spot for those who bring along their boat. So grab one of our complimentary fishing poles and tackle boxes and enjoy your stay. There are many things around here. Rent a pontoon or grab a free kayak... Just enjoy nature!
Our property also is part of Anchors Aweigh Pontoon Rentals. And the fenced in backyard is part of the business. We are set up like a duplex.
We make a point to keep to ourselves and mind our business, giving our guest the privacy they need. When you stay here we hope you feel like family. Just make yourself at home and relax.

If you wanna rent a pontoon, give me a call to see if ones available. The Kayak are available for your use for free. Just text me and I’ll come and unlock it and get the paddles and floating pad. There are many channels to explore around here! Just grab and go! Or grab the complimentary State Park pass for the day. Take off to Pokagon State Park venture out and check out their beaches and trails. Take a picnic and have fun in the sun. Please don’t lose the pass. There’s a $65 Fee if lost

The back part of our property is fenced in for our Pontoon rental business. We are set up like duplex. So half AIRBNB and the other half is the business. No customers come to our company. We deliver the pontoons to the local lakes. We keep to ourselves while giving you all the privacy you need. Enjoy the beautiful sunset on the very large patio out front. This lakefront cottage is on the first basin of Lake James, one of Indiana's most beautiful sports lakes. Most of our renters are repeat and book directly. We also have 5 star rating on Vrbo. The naturally sandy lake bottom is great for swimming, so bring all your water toys and floats. A private dock with boat tie-ups is included. (owner also has boats on the dock, and both adjacent cottages) The summer weeks are 7 day rentals with check in at 2pm on Sat and check out at 10am the following Sat.

The space
This cottage is fully furnished with three bedrooms and one and a half baths. The three small bedrooms [two with full-sized beds, one with a set of twin beds] and half bath are located upstairs. The living room downstairs has a full-sized pull-out couch. The sunroom has two day beds with windows all around for enjoying Lake James sunsets. The cottage sleeps 8 adults comfortably. The living room has high-speed internet and TV / DVD. There are remote control air conditioning, one each floor of the cottage. The kitchen is well-equipped with coffee maker, blender, and microwave and adjoining table area. The cottage also includes an outdoor gas grill for barbecuing, a large ground level patio with lakeside yard for games. We also have a 21' pontoon with 40hp 2 stroke for rent at $250/day, $1k/wk.

The Blue cottage to the north is also a rental managed by Jeff. The Grey Cottage to the south is my Aunt's and is the one my grandfather built in 1949 and where all us kids grew up! Jeff and Jan live in the "lodge" on the hill behind the cottages. Family owns most of the land behind the cottages so feel free to take a walk in the woods! The rental pontoon is on the Blue cottage dock. Other boats of ours are scattered across all three docks. We unusually use the Grey cottage dock with our pontoon and ski boat.

Welcome to our cozy and stylish space on the 3rd basin of Crooked Lake! This second row (not lakefront), 2BR/1BA cottage is fresh with all the amenities you need for a restful getaway. Lake view from the front patio, fire pit, propane grill and outdoor seating. Central air and lots of light from windows that capture the lake breezes. Direct lake access via private pier for docking up to a 21 foot pontoon or power boat (see Guest Access for details) . Public beach and launch nearby.

The space
Single story cottage, completely redone inside and out. 2 bedrooms- one with a queen bed and one with 2 twin beds. Walk- in low curb shower. Generous closet space. Ample parking, patio space and nicely equipped kitchen.

Entire cottage & lakefront pier. Access to our pier is intended for experienced boaters only. If you plan to bring your boat please message us before booking to make sure we are all on the same page regarding pier access and appropriate boat size. There is room in the driveway for your trailer and a public launch on the first basin of our lake.

Other things to note
A private swimming beach may be available during your stay but not guaranteed.

Access the private waterfront pier via an easement driveway across the street. We are not charging extra at this time for access to the newly installed pier but guests are advised to only rent or bring a boat of appropriate size (with prior discussion with hosts) if you have experience operating them safely. Pier will be inspected after stays (if applicable) and guests will be assessed fee for any damage.

There is a super nice public beach a short drive away in the park with a concession stand and public boat launch.

Charming cottage overlooking Lake James meets mountaintop experience. Lake James living is filled with endless possibilities as it has 3 basins and is the 4th largest natural lake in Indiana. It is always a wonderful stay at this lake house with beautiful breathtaking views from all over the accommodation as well as the outdoor walk out spacious decks to view the lake and one concrete patio also with spectacular views. The space
This cottage has beautiful neutral colors and wood grain flooring and lots of bright natural light shining through the windows. Spacious full bath with stackable washer/dryer along with a half bath thats been nicely updated. Large master bedroom has a sliding door that takes you out onto upper deck and has a great view of the lake from in bed. The master also has a generous sized walk-in closet. The second bedroom can sleep 4 with trundles.

Two doors open to the decks with EAST and WEST views of Lake Jimmerson. There are two sofabeds in the living room. Both sofa beds open to queen size beds and are stocked with plenty of pillows and bedding. A book shelf is stocked with games and books for kids and adults. High-speed Wifi and a SmartTV with Chromecast is included for you to stream from your favorite apps.

DECK and PIER: The deck and pier are shared with the other cottage next to it. There is room for multiple boats to dock there. We do apologize as the docks are older, but safe, and will be updated soon. There are kayaks included with your stay, also shared with other cottage. There is also a propane grill available for you to use.

HOT TUB: There is a hot tub on the property, but only available if the larger home is not occupied. Please ask us if it is available to you 1 day before your check-in day.

When you arrive at the property and park on the driveway, you will see three homes in front of you all available for rent. To your left is a large 3 bedroom home with a garage (Slice of Heaven 1). In the center is THIS listing (Slice of Heaven 2). On your far right is Slice of Heaven 3, another cottage for rent. To access your cottage, you will walk to your right and up onto the deck to a door with a number 2. With this rental, you have full access to the pier on the right side, the deck on the right side (which may be shared with Slice of Heaven 3 if there are renters). Kayaks are kept on the stand on the grassy area near the pier.

Other things to note
Please remember the property has 3 homes for rent, so please be mindful of other cars parked on the driveway. You can also park on the grass and by the road.

Below are a few things to prepare you for your stay.
- The address is 6120 W. Orland Road, Angola, IN 46703
- Check-in is at 4PM. We will reach out if you can check in any earlier.
- The side door has a keypad. Your code will be texted to you before your stay. You will press the
lock key UNTIL YOU HEAR IT BEEP then punch in your code followed by the unlock key. To lock
it, simply close the door and press the lock key.
- Our driveway is shared with the neighbor. You must leave enough room for them to get a car
through on their side.
- Please do not park in grass. We have a sprinkler system that could get damaged.
- No pets are allowed.
- Because many renters prefer to use their own sheets, we do not make up the beds. There is a
clean comforter provided on each bed. We have sheets in the bathroom closet across from the
washer and dryer if you didn’t bring your own.
- We do not provide laundry detergent.
- We do provide an initial stock of paper towels and toilet paper. Depending on how long your
stay is, you may need to purchase more.
- We have approximately 6 lawn chairs.
- We do provide propane for the grill.
- If needed, cleaning supplies can be found in the sunroom closet or under the kitchen sink.
- We have 1 television in the living room. It is a smart TV with Hulu +Live TV. If you have other
streaming services, you can login directly to the app on the TV.
- Wi-Fi password is found on the table under the living room TV.
- Please be respectful of the neighbors. Most of the neighbors call Lake Gage their permanent
home. We want everyone to have fun at the lake, but please be considerate of property lines
and stay in your own yard.
- At night, please be mindful of the noise after dark. Many of the neighbors work during the
week!
- Unlike many lake rentals, we do not charge a cleaning fee. Please make every attempt to leave
the cottage the way you found it so we can keep costs down!

This three bedroom home is located on top of a hill, giving you views of the lake and the woods.
Even though the home is equipped with all that you will need - you will probably find yourself on the deck for most of your stay. There are two tables for conversing and relaxing at the Nest. This place is a short drive or walk to a restaurant/bar. You can spread out in this split floor plan with a large main bedroom with ensuite bathroom/closet on one side and 2 bedrooms and hall bathroom on other.

The space
The home is a ranch style home, but you will have a few steps to climb to get inside. You will find a very open area from the breakfast area to the living room - all areas are visible. There are two bedrooms and a bathroom on one side of the house and the main bedroom and bathroom on the other side. There is a fireplace, but its not usable. There is a deck that stretches the whole length of the house. There is a garage, but it is used as storage by the owner and it is not for guest use. We do not allow pets, smoking or parties at this listing.

Crooked Comfort is a wonderful 1300 square foot, 3 bed, 2 bath lake home situated in the beautiful town of Angola. It can comfortable sleep up to 7. It's ideally located just off of highway 69 south of the Michigan boarder on a quiet private road with a private channel to the first basin of Crooked lake, and easy walking distance to the Steuben County Fairgrounds and beaches. It's just minutes away from great dining and activities that can be enjoyed year round.

Crooked Comfort many modern features suited for a wonderful stay whether it's a day, a weekend or longer!

Crooked Comfort offers a private dock complete with a boat lift and a jet ski lift as well as enough dock space to just relax in the evening with your family and friends.

With a short and easy walk down the street, you will find a beach to swim, as well as the Steuben County Fairground where there is something going on all summer long.

Crooked Comfort is also located a short driving distance to Pokagon National Park which offers hiking and horseback riding for the spring through the summer months as well as tobogganing in the winter.

The lower level has two additional bedrooms with queen beds and a full bath and walk in shower. The family room is on this level with plenty of space! Upstairs you’ll find 2 bedrooms and a full bath. King bed in the smaller room and 2 queens in the larger room.
Downstairs from the living room is a well stocked kitchen, seating for 6 at the table and 2 additional bar seats. There is a coffee bar with a keurig duo which offers option of full carafe or single cups.
Off of the kitchen you’ll find a 3 seasons room which opens to a large deck with comfortable large sofa and 2 chairs.

The space
You can enjoy all day just relaxing in the large yard playing the many different yard games or fishing off the dock in the canal. Take our kayaks out for a peaceful spin or walk 5 minutes down to the neighborhood private sandy beach. When you get back take a nap on the upper deck in our daybed. When everyone gets hungry just fire up the dual charcoal and gas grill (charcoal and gas provided) or go to one of the many delicious restaurants one mile down the road. Don't forget to relax in the 6 person hot tub on the first level of the deck. And then end the evening building a fire with fire wood that's provided for you.

Our home has plenty of space to spread out incase of a rainy day. Comfy couches in the livingroom to watch movies on the Smart TV. Another smart tv with a Roku in the upstairs bedroom. And don’t forget the detached party zone with a large smart TV with a Roku, darts and a table with a topper for a good friendly of poker.

You’re welcome to the entire house, yard and use of the dock. You also have use of the bottom of the detached garage, which we have converted into a party room. It has a smart tv, extra fridge, dart board and all the yard toys.

Please note our property is not handicap accessible. There are 12 steps from the street to the property.

Also we are on a canal with a tight corner for boats longer than 24 foot.

Due to week long rentals in the summer it may be necessary for us to have the lawn mowed during your stay. Our goal is to do lawn care in between stays but it can not be guaranteed.
