- "I just loved this entire experience. The property is in a beautiful setting on many acres in the country. The owners love their home and it shows. They have filled their huge property with beautiful flowers and trees and many bird feeders. Sitting on the front porch watching the humming birds is so relaxing. The bed was the most comfortable I ever slept in- best sleep I’ve had in a long time. The breakfast is amazing. It was different each morning, all freshly prepared, homemade recipes. You can smell it being prepared while you sit on the front porch watching the humming birds. It is in a great location 20 to 30 minutes from some of the most beautiful national parks and state and national forests. Beautiful lakes with hiking trails. I was so pleasantly surprised. I came for a long weekend just to check the box and knock another National Park off my list. I will be back many times. It is simply a gorgeous area. Let me address the comment somebody made about the house being isolated and the driveway being difficult to maneuver. The driveway is maybe 1/8 mile long. It is beautifully maintained like everything else on the property. It’s a gravel driveway like many in rural areas, but there are no sharp rocks as another guest claimed. I would have driven my Ferrari down that driveway. The same guest made a comment about the distance to things. The drive to the property is beautiful, through farmlands, and horse ranches with the beautiful Arkansas hills in the background. The house is only 20 to 30 minutes to amazingly beautiful things to do. My drive to work every day is much longer than that. Whoever wrote that one bad review must not have actually stayed at the property. I would highly recommend this beautiful place."

River's Bend Cabin sits on a bluff overlooking the Caddo River and the Ouachita Mountains. The views are amazing and the water is so close that you can hear the ripples as it makes its way down the river. Old Bear Ridge Log Cabin
Spend the night in our beautiful hand made log cabin in the woods! Watch the sun come up while you enjoy your morning coffee on the porch. Then enjoy some time in our hammocks or visit beautiful lake Ouachita. Hot Springs is only a short drive into town or go crystal mining, hiking or mountain biking on the local trails. Finish off your day with a steak, hot off the grill. Then watch the stars and fireflies from the private hot tub or relax around the custom fire pit with your favorite drink. If you want a peaceful retreat, surrounded by nature, this is the place for you!

The cabin was built by the owners. They cut and hand peeled logs from the surrounding property. They also built the log bed and futon. You can watch this labor of love on YouTube-look for Lance & Cinda Serafin.
The cabin features a vaulted ceiling with huge exposed log beams and antler chandelier. It has a queen size bed with memory foam topper for a good nights sleep. If you prefer a firm mattress, let us know prior to your stay and we can remove the memory foam topper. The sofa can also be pulled out to make a full sized bed.
The bathroom features an antique claw foot tub from 1910 and a huge picture window with a view of the woods.
There is a realistic, cozy electric fireplace to enjoy, without any of the work. If you would like a real fire, there is a lovely custom fire pit and sitting area in the front yard. Firewood and kindling are provided. Additional firewood is available free of charge from the wood shed.
All the ingredients for your first morning breakfast are included! Cook up a hearty country style breakfast of bacon, blueberry pancakes, and farm fresh eggs from our own hens! There is a fully functional kitchen with all the utensils needed to cook while you are here. Also, a spacious deck complete with charcoal grill and table and chairs. (Charcoal is provided!) Walk out the side door and it’s only a few steps to the hot tub!

•Control for the mini split, heating and air conditioning is mounted on the side of the pantry. Feel free to set it to your comfort level.

•Lake Ouachita is about 4 miles. Take Brady mountain road. You can also put your boat in at Crystal springs which is about 7 miles.

• The switch for the patio lighting is on the post at the base of the deck tree.

•The charcoal grill has a propane lighter. Put charcoal in the grill. With lid OPEN Turn propane knob on about 1/2 turn and then turn the igniter knob. After the charcoal is going good, turn OFF the propane. No lighter fluid is required. Bags of charcoal are in the bin on the right hand side of the grill. Let us know if you run out and we will bring you more.

*Firewood and kindling are on the front porch. If you need more, there is a self-service wood rack. Wood is free.
*We provide a pine cone fire starter. Put some paper in the fire pit then the pine cone and more paper. Make a tepee out of the small kindling sticks. Light the wick in the pine cone and gradually add larger pieces of wood.
*Do not leave the fire unattended please!!

*You are welcome to use the roomba vacuum anytime. Please be sure to pick up your things and lay the rugs on the front porch first. She likes to eat stuff, especially your cords!

I have physical limitations so I was nervous about the stairs but they designed them with safety and care in mind. The bed has an indentation for each person but it was comfortable! We hope to stay here again. My only question mark for the entire house was the showerhead. Not much water pressure and you have to get your arm wet to access the knobs (so you're reaching through freezing water or hot water to do any adjusting.) Minor in comparison to the clean and serene atmosphere. The owners were very quick and phenomenal at communication. Thank you again! "

Enjoy a park-like and secluded 2 acres on the Caddo River with over 1/4 mile of river frontage. This clean, comfortable, simple "Shack" sits close to the water with free kayaks for guests to enjoy during their stay. Watch the river and deer from the screened porch, kayak up and downstream from the property, swim in the 8-foot-deep swimming area or wade in the shallows. Sit around the fire as owls call out and eagles and osprey soar through the valley. Bathe in the outdoor tub on the screened porch!

The shack is comfortable, clean, and full of simple amenities, but it is not a luxurious accommodation. There is only one bed, so the shack is not suitable for families or groups. It's a great romantic spot for a couple or the lone-traveler seeking a beautiful and semi-secluded spot on the river. The Caddo River is a popular kayaking and tubing river in Arkansas. In the summer, you will enjoy watching groups of people float past in the afternoon! It gets especially busy on weekends and holidays in the summer. However, weekdays and off-season days are much quieter. From October to March, you will rarely see anyone else on the river and can enjoy the water by yourselves. March through May is mostly just weekend floaters.

Additional notes on seclusion: This is the only rental on the 2-acre property. There are only two neighbors in the area, and they are separated by a lot of trees so your part of the river will feel secluded and private. There is a clean ranch across the paved road that hosts beautiful Brahmas. There is no development across the river giving you more shoreline and woods to explore. You may hear a lumber processing plant across the river in the distance through the trees and occasionally kayakers will treat you to their favorite tunes as they float by. The river is usually very quiet, allowing you to be alone on the water most days between September and May. However, weekends, holidays, and warm summer days sometimes bring a lot of tubers and kayakers to the water during the day. It's usually quiet again in the evenings even on summer days.

Location: The Shack is only 2 miles from Glenwood on a paved road. In Glenwood are restaurants, a grocery store, and pharmacies.

Cell service: We are thankful to have good cell service on the property although some carriers are not great inside the shack.

Great place for a couple and their dog(s) to get away and relax and enjoy nature. The cabin had plenty of cooking and grilling supplies, a comfy bed with a river view, a nice shower, two cozy recliners, two kayaks, a gigantic firepit with chairs, a sandy beach area on the river, and a secluded wooded two acres to roam with a creek running through it. The weather cooperated with perfectly clear skies to view the awesome eclipse right from the yard, making for a truly amazing trip. I highly recommend The Shack on the Caddo!"

On 50 acres in foothills of the Ouachita National Forest, 18 miles to Hot Springs National Park, AR & 8 miles to DeGray Lake State Park. Even though we have the necessary WiFi we still invite you to unplug from technology, reconnect w/nature & your loved one. We’re a perfect escape to a simpler time

The space
Lone Cedar Cabins also offers a unique accommodation in a Vintage Mid-Century Camp Trailer named The Pine Cone. This trailer was purchased new in 1957 by owner Dawn’s grandparents (John and Lorena Cline). This holds some precious memories, and they are proud to offer this “heirloom” as an affordable vacation rental near Hot Springs National Park. The Pine Cone is decorated in a retro fifties theme and includes a full-size bed, bath, kitchen and living room in one. Also provided is a TV with an old school dvd/vcr player and some great movies. Cards, puzzles, games and books too! For your comfort a large porch with a ceiling fan has been added, which includes a table and chairs, charcoal BBQ grill, fire pit and outdoor shower (smaller shower inside too).
Please note that our camp trailer is considered a small RV and may be uncomfortable for the tall or husky folk!
Sorry no pets and no children. As this is a small, vintage RV it’s not child proof. Things are too easily broken and we are trying to save all the vintage we can😉There is also no room for a baby!

Our trail goes to the top of our mountain, beautiful views. It is about a half mile long, steep going up and coming down so bring the provided hiking sticks. We are about 1000 ft elevation. You’ll walk over or through a spring that runs year round. We have worked hard clearing and making this area accessible, we love our trail. Btw Freckles our Aussie will probably be your very own personal trail guide!

The red cedar exterior and beautiful interior of our Lone Cedar Cabin evoke the rugged life of the pioneers who discovered this area. Soaring 16-foot ceilings give the feeling of unlimited space in the living room while spacious windows bring the outdoors inside. A favorite getaway for honeymooners, romantics and small families, this cabin offers a welcoming gas log fireplace to cozy up to while watching a great movie, playing vinyls on the vintage stereo or playing your favorite board game. The full-size, fully equipped kitchen is convenient to the dining area and family activities. Up in the loft, look forward to a dreamy and cozy night in a comfortable queen bed (with the option of a queen size memory foam sofa sleeper downstairs) after relaxing in the jetted tub. Our Lone Cedar cabin is literally at the “End of the Trail” with enough privacy to enjoy your outdoor shower. Covered porches with ceiling fans, outdoor fire pit, horseshoes and charcoal BBQ grill.

Our Oak Ridge cabin has tall ceilings w/celestial windows that let in the mountain views. A favorite for families, 2 bedrm, 2 bath w/fireplace, fully equipped kitchen & large porch. The space
The placement of this spacious cabin rental at Lone Cedar Cabins is high enough to view forest and wildlife. Our Oak Ridge Cabin offers rustic charm and an array of modern amenities, so that you can enjoy a quiet getaway without giving up creature comforts. The fully equipped and full-size kitchen lets you enjoy meals in the attached dining area or out on the covered porch. Ideal for a family vacation near Hot Springs, Arkansas, our Oak Ridge Cabin has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and sleeps up to 8 people. The large bedroom has a queen bed, loft with full-size bed for the kiddos and a full-size bath. The second bedroom has a queen bed and its own bathroom. You will also find an American Leather queen sofa bed with a memory foam mattress in the living room. Tall ceilings with celestial windows let in the wonderful mountain views while enjoying a cozy gas log fireplace in the living room! Also provided is a TV with an old school dvd/vcr player and some great old movies. Record player with fun vinyls, cards, puzzles, games and books. Outside you’ll find the fire pit, charcoal BBQ grill, tetherball and horseshoes. Don’t miss your chance to join the OTC (outdoor shower club) - with you guessed it - our outdoor shower! No need to go anywhere with on site hiking trail, stocked catfish pond and old school swing set.
Sorry No Pets
We also offer 2 other lodgings on our property. With privacy in mind we have spaced them some distance apart and they are listed on Airbnb under our Lone Cedar Cabin and our Pine Cone Vintage RV.

Guest access
Just over the hill you will have access to our stocked catfish pond (they like hotdogs!). Bring your own fishing poles. Fish food is in a metal trash can, another trash can with corn in it for the ducks! Cool old school swing set there too.

Our trail goes to the top of our mountain, beautiful views. It is about a half mile long, steep up and coming down so bring the provided hiking sticks. We are about 1000 ft elevation. You’ll walk over or through a spring that runs year round. We have worked hard clearing and making this area accessible, we love our trail. Btw Freckles our Aussie will probably be your very own personal trail dog!

No pets. A fee of 200.00 will be charged for violation of pet policy.

This home is located just on the outskirts of Kirby, AR. It is central to all the local activities. It is just a 15 min drive to Murfreesboro, and 19 min to the Diamond Mine. The nearest boat ramp is just 6 min up the road. It is also just a 15 min drive to Glenwood if you choose to float the Caddo River. If you choose to stay in the Barn it is plenty spacious for the family with family friendly activities. Or kick back on patio and enjoy the view!
