SWIMMING NOT ALLOW WHILE DRAINING THE LAKE
A 600-foot public swimming beach is located on the northwest side of the lake. Facilities include a bathhouse with changing booths and showers.

BOATING NO ALLOWED WHILE DRAINING
Boats with motors up to 9.9 horsepower are permitted on the lake. Launching ramps and seasonal dock rentals are available. Boat rentals are available from a privately-owned marina on the south side of the lake.

FISHING
Good catches of bass, bluegill, crappie and channel catfish can be taken at Guilford Lake. A valid Ohio fishing license is required.

PICNICKING
Shaded picnic areas with tables and grills are located at various points around the lake. A shelterhouse is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Beaver Creek State Park Excellent trails for biking and hiking.

AREA ATTRACTIONS
Two public golf courses (9-hole and 18-hole) are located near the park. Eight miles south of Lisbon on State Route 518, a Confederate monument commemorates the surrender of General John Hunt Morgan to Union forces on July 26, 1863.

Zepernick Lake State Wildlife Area, east of the park on State Route 172, offers public hunting and fishing. Yellow Creek State Forest, off State Route 39, offers hunting and hiking opportunities.

Located in Guilford Lake State Park, the house overlooks Guilford Lake, with only a park between the home and the lake, and lake access for our 4 kayaks is directly across the street. This country charmer has a kitchen fully stocked with utensils, including a Keurig-type coffee maker, toaster and microwave. The kids will be thrilled with the basement game-room filled with jigsaw puzzles, board games, TV, dart board and Foosball table. This room has the best view of the lake! Outside amenities include cornhole, fire pit and 4 kayaks. Indoors, a desk is available for remote work and a collection of books and magazines are available for a rainy day. Beautifully decorated, the Getaway at Guilford beckons you to “Stay Awhile.”

***The Guilford Lake dam project begins in September 2025 and will continue until Memorial Day 2027. Due to this important infrastructure project, the lake will be drained for the end of 2025 and the full 2026 season. For meals, guests can cook in the well-equipped kitchen or use the gas grill on the lake-view deck. Only motorized boats less than 10 HP are allowed on the lake so it is perfect for fishing and kayaking, and you can rent pontoon boats at Mark's Landing. Access points to the Greenway Bike Trail are close by for bikers and walkers. And there are 2 golf courses within 5 minutes as well as the Scenic Vista disc golf course.

Now for the house, absolutely amazing location, quaint lake cottage decor, ample room for everyone to spread out. The lake is beautiful, amazing sunrises and sunsets. The house is so clean and well stocked. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. Shampoo, conditioner and soaps along with big fluffy towels in the bathrooms. The house is very spacious plenty of beds for the 8 of us. Me, my sister her husband, my nephew his wife and two kids brought my 89 year old mother to Ohio to spend time with her siblings. At first we were worried about the few steps leading into the house, but my mom maneuvered them just fine. The game room, kayaks, fire pit for s’mores, the beautiful deck and the washer and dryer were an added bonus. We had so much fun kayaking on the lake. I highly recommend this property and would absolutely stay there again. Unfortunately the last few days of our trip there was a huge storm that knocked out the electricity and the water for a few days the water was unable to pump so we had to leave a few unwashed dishes in the sink. We felt terrible about that. One small suggestion would be to have a few flashlights or lanterns available in case of bad weather. We were very thankful for the candles that they had. But the lanterns or flashlights would be safer to carry from room to room. Thank you for sharing your beautiful lake house with us"

There is a large massage chair that our few visitors enjoyed in moderation. The water pressure in the shower is good and water smells clean. This is a two night maximum stay property. Hike into your private one room cabin in the woods. Relax with a good book on the porch, cook over a campfire or walk the trail metal detecting for treasures. The cabin is completely off grid with 70 gallons of fresh water, solar / battery power and propane heater or wood stove for those chilly nights. The outdoor kitchen has a propane two burner stove, small sink with cold water, skillet, pot, dishes, silverware, coffee cups, coffee maker and towels. I also provide coffee, hot chocolate, oatmeal, sugar, coffee creamer, spray oil, salt and pepper. The bathroom is outdoors with a compost toilet and outdoor heated shower. The sleeping area features a double size murphy bed on first floor and twin bed in loft. Bed linens are provided plus extra blankets in loft. Fire wood provided.

Our Lake House has all the amenities of home. There are 2 bedrooms, 1 full bath and a half bath, 2 Queen size pull-out couch beds. A fully furnished kitchen, washer and dryer, central air and heat, 2 televisions, a DVD player, a full size living room and 2 enclosed sun porches. The outside patio is complete with table, chairs and furniture to relax and enjoy the sunsets. A propane grill, a firepit and corn hole boards are also waiting for you. The rental comes with a 24' Pontoon Boat to be used as you wish. It sits beside Marks Landing restaurant to enjoy a meal or have a drink.... The house rents from 6 p.m. Sunday until 12 noon the following Sunday. A $400.00 security deposit is required . The house is a must see ....There is no paint or dry wall all the rooms are of a different type of wood and the yard is beautifully landscaped. The house is available all year as Mother Nature paints the seasons in our Ohio town.

This is our full time home that we share with two full grown Labrador Retrievers. We live in a rural area on a 40+ acre farm. There are two ponds on the property, the front pond has a lighted fountain and small dock, the other is a natural habitat pond that’s great for fishing. Fire pit area and hot tub available for use.

The space
Our home is an old farmhouse that has been lovingly restored. Located on forty acres, creating a quiet country setting. Restaurants, grocery stores and gas stations near by.

Guest access
The kitchen table and island bar are available for meals or the dining room table may be used. Microwave, stove and refrigerator may also be used.

There are gas and charcoal grills on patio.
Hot tub is available. We provide beach towels.

During your stay
This is our private residence and we do live in our home full time. We have two indoor Labradors and a German Shepherd outdoors.

We will be here to greet you in person and show you to your room, along with a tour of the spaces available to guests and answer any questions you have.

All our rooms require going up and down steps.

Other things to note
The Americana Room is one of three spaces in our full time home that we list on AirB&B. The other listings are “The Seaside Room” and “The Retreat Room”. We invite you to check out the reviews posted on the above mentioned rooms also, as the rooms are in the same house as the Americana.
We realize that our place is not the perfect fit for everyone, as hosts we work hard to accommodate our guests. We are passionate about hosting as this has been a long time dream of ours. We hope you give us a visit if you’re passing through, visiting family, for reunions, weddings, funerals. In the area for a job, hunting or just checking out the rich history of our area.





We live in a rural area and we have a well for our water supply and septic tank. A well is a great source for natural minerals that come from the earth but well water also has its challenges which could possibly include iron, though not harmful could at times have an odor. We do use a water softener.

We share our home with two Labrador retrievers. Zoe is three and Judah is two. They will bark when you pull in the driveway but make friends real fast. They are gentle and well behaved. We also have a German shepherd that is outdoors.

Wildlife you may see while you’re here are deer, turkey, geese, ducks, eagle or blue heron and a few rabbits and squirrels 🐿️

The Americana room is located in the main hallway upstairs beside and across from our personal space.

We do require a photo of each guest that will be staying. Anyone other than the booking guest must be registered and the additional fee paid. If this has not been done you can always alter the reservation upon arrival.

The space
You’ll be staying on a 42 acre farm with lake and lighted fountain and koi fish. Two story restored farmhouse. The bedroom is located on the second floor. Plenty of outdoor seating on front porch and the gazebo is the process of being repaired after coming down in a Hugh wind storm. There are gas and charcoal grills with umbrella table in back courtyard with hot tub. There is also a patio fire pit with seating. Firewood available for extra charge.

Guest access
You will have access to the large kitchen with brick wood burning fireplace and T.V. Dining room with gas fireplace, where most of time you’ll find a puzzle being assembled, please feel free to help. A small area off the dining room where we are creating a library. The living room has leather reclining couch and rocking reclining chairs, T.V. fireplace and window seat with view of side yard with plenty of bird feeders and stone patio with fire pit.

During your stay
This is our private home that we have been restoring for 30 years. We will most likely always be here to greet you in person and show you to your room and areas you’ll have access to including outdoors. We will be available to answer questions and meet your needs to the best of our ability.

Please be mindful that our house is over 250 years old, so its bones 😂 and joints creak and crack. So you will hear it.

Two of our rooms are located on the second which means there are steps to be navigated, if you have mobility difficulties this may not work for you.
Our third bedroom room is located in the basement also requiring that you navigate steps.

The space
Bring your own towels, blankets, plates, utensils etc. I have soap, shampoo, paper products and minimal pans. I also provide pillows for each bed and sheets for the queen bed. I can accommodate addition items if requested for a minimal up charge and make your stay hassle free and convenient.

Guest access
You will have the camper and access to the pond which has a paddle boat and great finishing. You may run into other guests at the pond area who are staying at the main house but the house itself is a good distance from the camper.

Entry is simple and secure with a keyless code system—no need to worry about keys! Enjoy complete privacy and the freedom to come and go as you please.

Other things to note
The cabin is professionally treated and maintained for bugs and critters on a regular basis. However, being nestled in the woods means nature is always close by. Occasionally, you might spot a bug or two making its way inside—they’re just seeking shelter from the elements, just like you. Please know this is normal for woodland cabins and not a sign of infestation. We do everything we can to ensure your stay is clean, comfortable, and peaceful.

Whether you are looking for a family vacation, a trip with the guys/gals or a romantic getaway with your significant other this is the place. Full kitchen with everything you will need. Large soaker tub to relax and unwind in, Stocked pond for fishing. Located in the hills outside of Wellsville above the Ohio River. You won’t need 4 wheel drive but take your time and enjoy the scenery on the windy gravel path through the hills and hollers.

The space
Large Master bedroom has a queen size bed and a TV, 2nd Large Bedroom has 1 full bed and 1 queen bed, small 3rd bedroom has a twin bed. The lower living room has a huge sectional with a full bed and a TV. There are 2 bathrooms off of the mail hallway, 1 has a shower and the other has a large soaker tub. Kitchen is fully stocked with cooking supplies and coffee and seasonings are provided.

You will access the property thru the downstairs door which you can park Directly in front of.

Other things to note
Price is for up to 5 people, each person from 6-9 is $20 extra per night. While you may have a couple of guests during the day. Family gatherings or parties of any kind are only aloud with advanced notice and will be approved on a case by case basis. Unauthorized gatherings will result in your stay being terminated without a refund.
