SWIMMING NOT ALLOW WHILE DRAINING THE LAKE
A 600-foot public swimming beach is located on the northwest side of the lake. Facilities include a bathhouse with changing booths and showers.

BOATING NO ALLOWED WHILE DRAINING
Boats with motors up to 9.9 horsepower are permitted on the lake. Launching ramps and seasonal dock rentals are available. Boat rentals are available from a privately-owned marina on the south side of the lake.

FISHING
Good catches of bass, bluegill, crappie and channel catfish can be taken at Guilford Lake. A valid Ohio fishing license is required.

PICNICKING
Shaded picnic areas with tables and grills are located at various points around the lake. A shelterhouse is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

BIKING AND HIKING
Beaver Creek State Park Excellent trails for biking and hiking.

AREA ATTRACTIONS
Two public golf courses (9-hole and 18-hole) are located near the park. Eight miles south of Lisbon on State Route 518, a Confederate monument commemorates the surrender of General John Hunt Morgan to Union forces on July 26, 1863.

Zepernick Lake State Wildlife Area, east of the park on State Route 172, offers public hunting and fishing. Yellow Creek State Forest, off State Route 39, offers hunting and hiking opportunities.

Located in Guilford Lake State Park, the house overlooks Guilford Lake, with only a park between the home and the lake, and lake access for our 4 kayaks is directly across the street. This country charmer has a kitchen fully stocked with utensils, including a Keurig-type coffee maker, toaster and microwave. The kids will be thrilled with the basement game-room filled with jigsaw puzzles, board games, TV, dart board and Foosball table. This room has the best view of the lake! Outside amenities include cornhole, fire pit and 4 kayaks. Indoors, a desk is available for remote work and a collection of books and magazines are available for a rainy day. Beautifully decorated, the Getaway at Guilford beckons you to “Stay Awhile.”

***The Guilford Lake dam project begins in September 2025 and will continue until Memorial Day 2027. Due to this important infrastructure project, the lake will be drained for the end of 2025 and the full 2026 season. For meals, guests can cook in the well-equipped kitchen or use the gas grill on the lake-view deck. Only motorized boats less than 10 HP are allowed on the lake so it is perfect for fishing and kayaking, and you can rent pontoon boats at Mark's Landing. Access points to the Greenway Bike Trail are close by for bikers and walkers. And there are 2 golf courses within 5 minutes as well as the Scenic Vista disc golf course.

Now for the house, absolutely amazing location, quaint lake cottage decor, ample room for everyone to spread out. The lake is beautiful, amazing sunrises and sunsets. The house is so clean and well stocked. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. Shampoo, conditioner and soaps along with big fluffy towels in the bathrooms. The house is very spacious plenty of beds for the 8 of us. Me, my sister her husband, my nephew his wife and two kids brought my 89 year old mother to Ohio to spend time with her siblings. At first we were worried about the few steps leading into the house, but my mom maneuvered them just fine. The game room, kayaks, fire pit for s’mores, the beautiful deck and the washer and dryer were an added bonus. We had so much fun kayaking on the lake. I highly recommend this property and would absolutely stay there again. Unfortunately the last few days of our trip there was a huge storm that knocked out the electricity and the water for a few days the water was unable to pump so we had to leave a few unwashed dishes in the sink. We felt terrible about that. One small suggestion would be to have a few flashlights or lanterns available in case of bad weather. We were very thankful for the candles that they had. But the lanterns or flashlights would be safer to carry from room to room. Thank you for sharing your beautiful lake house with us"

There is a large massage chair that our few visitors enjoyed in moderation. The water pressure in the shower is good and water smells clean. This is a two night maximum stay property. Hike into your private one room cabin in the woods. Relax with a good book on the porch, cook over a campfire or walk the trail metal detecting for treasures. The cabin is completely off grid with 70 gallons of fresh water, solar / battery power and propane heater or wood stove for those chilly nights. The outdoor kitchen has a propane two burner stove, small sink with cold water, skillet, pot, dishes, silverware, coffee cups, coffee maker and towels. I also provide coffee, hot chocolate, oatmeal, sugar, coffee creamer, spray oil, salt and pepper. The bathroom is outdoors with a compost toilet and outdoor heated shower. The sleeping area features a double size murphy bed on first floor and twin bed in loft. Bed linens are provided plus extra blankets in loft. Fire wood provided.

- "Booked for a nice relaxing Labor Day weekend. Property exceeded our expectations. The owners thought of everything. There was firewood, hot dog and pie makers for fire. Even left danishes and smores in cabin for us. Definitely worth checking out to get away from the city a few days." - "The walk up to the cabin was "invigorating" if our oldasses can make it most anyone can. The cabin and camp area were super cute, well stocked clean, extra thought put into our stay, the hostesses Paula had thought of everything. For our stay the weather was perfect, but im certain it would be to warm for us during summer months. The shower was hot, the beds were comfortable our stay was perfect. It may not be every ones cup of tea, but if you want to get out in the woods away from everyone yet still have everything you need, this place may be what you're looking for. The kicker for us , our dogs were welcome."
