Rocky Fork lake nearby. Visitors to the "Wilberness" Log Cabin will experience peace and quiet on this 2-acre property.
Relax while sitting on the front or back porch of this real log cabin listening to all the bird songs. There is plenty of wildlife to watch including visits from many small animals and an occasional deer. You can hear a rooster from afar who supplies your wake up call in the morning !

There is plenty of seating for outdoor dining and a hot tub for relaxing. A grill and a large fire pit complete the outdoor ensemble.
You will find two bedrooms upstairs. A queen bed in the master (2ppl) and a double bed and a set of bunk beds in the second bedroom (4ppl) A double air mattress for sleeping is also on hand. (2ppl). There is also a Pack and Play available. Tent camping on the abundance of flat land is available in the side yard.
The kitchen comes fully equipped if you choose to cook. Everything you would need is provided along with a few pantry items. A dining table is next to the kitchen for eating inside. There is a bathroom with a tub/shower, sink, and toilet. The linen closet supplies your sheets and towels for your stay. Some cleaning supplies and laundry items are supplied. A washer and dryer are available.
The living room has a working fireplace/wood-burning stove. There is a TV with U Tube TV service and a Blue Ray player with various movies to watch.
Wireless internet service is available throughout the cabin. Data is very limited. Wilderness is a get away with very minimal wi-fi service. Movies or anything else should be streamed. Please.

There is ample parking at the cabin in front of the garage for your boat and trailer.
The garage, however, is the owner's property and is off-limits for use.

THE SPACE
The camper is located at the top of the hill making for a very private experience.
We are in the main house and available for any questions or advice on things to do around the area. Otherwise we strive to offer a private getaway for our guests so you won't see us much, however you may get a visit from our 2 very friendly labs Eddie and Kayce
Our space is perfect for a couples getaway, the bedroom has a king size bed. There is also a queen size sofa bed in the living room.
The hot tub is a Hot Springs perfect for up to 3 people. We regularly check the water and sanitize between each guest please enjoy the hot tub responsibly and follow hot tub rules.
We are located Approx. 15-20 minutes from our quaint town of Peebles Ohio
In and around Adams County Ohio
We are Approx. 2 miles from Serpent Mound and in Locust Grove Ohio stop by and see Tom Johnson at The Rock Shop totally worth a visit.
Also close by you can launch your kayaks on Brush Creek.
Lots of hiking trails in the area (The Buckeye Trail)
Nature preserves and Amish Country all around us with great bakeries and antiques and we are very well known during hunting season. Although we are closed for the winter months we will be back opened in March 2025 be sure to start booking your spring and summer getaways now. 4. Of course Serpent Mound within 2 miles of the Holler it is a 1,348 foot long serpent effigy and ponder its mysteries they open Tuesday thru Sunday

HUNTERS. The Paint Creek Lake Wildlife Area is at the end of our road with over 5,000 acres of Public Hunting Grounds. There is plenty of access with well marked parking areas. One third of the Area is agriculture (corn and beans), one third is woods and one third is reverting prairie. There is plenty of parking. Back up on the gravel drive and hang your field dressed deer right from the bed of your truck. On the back deck is an outdoor work table with running water to process your game. We can provide maps and ODNR Hunting Regulations booklets. Hunters can also find rabbit, turkey, quail, pheasant and dove in the area. However, the best dove hunting is found at the Fallsville Wildlife Area, 15 miles from the rental. Paint Creek State Park’s Archery Range is about 20 miles from the rental and not far from there are two Archery Stores.

FISHING ENTHUSIASTS have TWO Ohio State Park Lakes to choose from, less than 15 miles from the rental. There is plenty of parking. Outback is a fish cleaning station. Check out the Fishing Tournament Schedules for Rocky Fork Lake and Paint Creek Lake.

For the avid golfers, The Elks Lodge is a 14-minute drive offering 18 holes of golf on Hillsboro’s beautiful rolling hills. You’ll have access to the entire house in addition to 82 beautiful acres, including hiking trails through woods and pastures and across creeks, fishing in a stocked pond (catch and release only please) and sipping your morning coffee overlooking green pastures or beside a misty pond. Visit with our jersey cows, Dolly and Daisy, and take pictures with our two adorable valais blacknose sheep, Siegfried and Tristan, a unique breed from the mountains of Switzerland.

We live on the property and are available if you need anything. Feel free to reach out for any needs and to book hayrides and learning experiences such as making maple syrup from freshly tapped trees, foraging tours, gardening and bread-making classes & participating in old-fashioned farm chores. Rent boats and kayaks or book fishing trips on Rocky Fork Lake. Spend the day visiting art or history museums or sampling gourmet eateries in Cincinnati or Columbus. Visit The Air Force Museum, underground railroad sites or learn more about the Wright Brothers or the poet, Paul Laurence Dunbar, in Dayton. There is plenty to do no matter the time of year or the weather!

You may be greeted by four friendly dogs when you arrive. Also, we are in the country and, while the internet has good speed (usually between 30 and 150 mbps), sometimes phone connections via the internet can be spotty. We find this can be an opportunity to disconnect from technology and better connect with yourself, family and friends.

🐕‍🦺PET POLICY🐕‍🦺
We are pleased to offer dog-friendly accommodations under specific conditions. A $150 per stay pet fee applies and must be collected in advance of your stay. This fee allows for 1 dog, less than 60 lbs.. As a guest of a Lakeside Escape, you agree to adhere to the following policies.

• Pets are not allowed on furniture or bedding. Therefore, all pets must be
crated overnight and crated when left unattended for any amount of time.
Please contact Host to arrange pet crate rental if needed.

• Your pet must be leashed at all times when outside on the property. All waste
must be picked up and disposed of. No aggressive dogs are allowed on the property.
o Guests will use either the rental yard or the road outside to walk the dog to urinate and defecate. Guests will not let their dog relieve itself in the
neighbors’ yards.

• The dog must be flea and tick free and current on prevention treatment.

• As responsible pet owners, Guests agree to accept full and complete
responsibility for any personal injury or property damage caused by the dog or
suffered by any person during Guests’ stay at Lakeside Escape.

• Guests understand that they will be charged accordingly for the repair of any
damages, additional cleaning requirements, or flea treatment caused by dog’s
presence or behavior. If there is evidence of non-compliance with the policies stated above, penalty fees will apply. Common examples of non-compliance and corresponding penalty fees are listed below.
o $70 Evidence of pet on bedding or furniture (excessive pet hair)
o $150 Evidence of pet within a lodging that is not pet friendly or failure
to add your pet to your reservation
o $70-$500+ Damages to lodging, furnishings, equipment, etc that must
undergo cleaning or replacement. (ex. chewed door frames, soiled bed
sheets, excessive pet hair on bedding or furnishings). We realize that
accidents happen so please contact the Host immediately if a situation
arises and damages occur.

PET POLICY
1) Guests are permitted to bring no more than 1 dog (total) weighing 60 pounds or less, unless the Host agrees in advance. There is an additional fee added to the stay for any guests bringing their dogs. This fee does not apply to `Registered Service Animals`.

2) The dog must be healthy and up to date on rabies (required every 3 years) and DHPP (vaccines for Distemper, Adenovirus (Hepatitis), Parainfluenza and Parvovirus).

3) The dog must be flea and tick free and current on prevention treatment.

4) Guests will not leave the dog unattended at the home. If dog is unattended, it must be within a kennel or crate.

5) The dog is prohibited from being on furniture unless covered with a provided blanket. Any signs of the dog on furniture without a blanket or proper cover will incur a cleaning fee.

6) The dog is prohibited from being on the guest beds at any time. Evidence of any dog soiling/damage on bed or bedding may incur extra cleaning or replacement fees. Additionally, the dog must also be clean (free of mud, dirt, etc.) before entering the home.

7) Guests will use either the rental yard or the road outside to walk the dog and allow to urinate and defecate. Guests will not let their dog(s) relieve itself in the neighbors’ yards. All solid waste must be bagged and put into trash.

8) As responsible pet owners, Guests agree to accept full and complete responsibility for any personal injury or property damage caused by their dog or suffered by any person during Guests’ stay.

9) Guests understand that they will be charge accordingly for the repair of any damages, additional cleaning requirements, or flea treatment caused by dogs` presence or behavior.
