This is a private single-family house located in a residential neighborhood where families typically live. The house is one floor and a decent size — about 800 square feet (74 m2) of living space. Each bedroom has a queen bed and a 32 inch Roku TV. The living room has a sofa, a 32 inch Roku TV, a work desk and chair. The kitchen includes a dining table, stove, microwave, refrigerator, etc. The full bathroom is just off the kitchen area.

You will have access to the first floor of the home, including a nice and spacious front porch. You will not have access to the basement or the rear yard, which are used by the owner for the owner’s storage.

This is a quiet, residential neighborhood made up of mostly single-family homes. Downtown Perth Amboy and Downtown Woodbridge are both nearby. Shopping and restaurants also in the nearby area. Major highways are easily accessible and the NJ Transit Bus No. 48 is 3 blocks away from the house.

This house is located in an area close to the Garden State Parkway, NJ Turnpike, Route 1 and Route 9, etc. Driving to the house is quite easy. If you don`t have a car, NJ Transit Bus No. 48 stops just 3 blocks away from the house. This bus can take you to Woodbridge Train Station (about a 5 minute bus ride). From there, you can catch a train to New York City. The travel time from this house to Penn Station New York is about 1 hour and 15 minutes in total.

Self check-in and check-out are available. There is a lockbox with keys at the entry door to the building. We will send you the code to the lock box on the day of your arrival. The code will not be sent in advance.

The check-in window is 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm. If you are planning to arrive after 11:00 pm, you must clear this with us. No one will be available to support you during check-in if you arrive very late at night (after 11:00 pm) and your check in will be entirely self-service at those hours. We will not give any refunds if you have issues checking in after 11:00 pm. There is no luggage storage available at the house.

There is no driveway or off-street parking. Parking is not included with this rental. You will need to find parking on the street. It is free to park on the street and not too difficult to find a spot. You do not need any permits to park on the street, but you need to check the street cleaning signs. The town cleans the streets once per week and you can’t park on those streets during the street cleaning hours. We cannot be responsible for any parking violations you may receive.

Please also note that this house is an older house. Some recent guests have arrived with higher expectations than what we can provide given the age of the house. The place looks like the photos in the listing and we keep it clean. It is a basic space with basic amenities. If you are looking for a functional and competitively priced place relatively close to New York City and Newark Airport EWR, this would be a good space for you. If you are looking for a modern and luxury stay, this is probably not the place for you.

We also just want to make clear that you are renting a private house and not a hotel room. There are many differences between house rentals and hotels, and some newer guests may not realize it. Hotels are large and often have many rooms, and the ability to change your room should issues arise. Hotels also have staff 24/7 that can help you with every issue or questions that you may have. On the other hand, we are a small operation and manage our listings to the best of our ability. We try hard to create a good experience for guests. You can hear toilets flush, babies crying, walking across floor. All quite normal just not to our liking. Handrail needs to be added as we were all well into our sixties and seventies. - "Overall the room was satisfactory - the bed was clean and comfortable, and the tv worked. The air conditioner cooled well but was loud. The microwave was missing a knob. The mini fridge worked well, but I could hear every time the compressor went on and off, very noisy. The entire hotel was in the midst renovations, so some things in the room were incomplete. A few places in the walls in the bathroom needed sanding and painting. Some of the furniture was worn as if a dog was gnawing on it. There was a dead fly on the floor. The curtains didn’t close properly because parts were not hooked properly."

Our home has one guest bedroom on the 1st-floor of our house. We are located in a safe & convenient suburban area of Staten Island within 2.5 blocks of walking distance to transportation.

Guests stay in a large private bedroom with a queen bed & extra floor space for a blow-up queen mattress or single cot. Other parts of the apartment which are the living room, kitchen, and bathroom are shared living spaces.

The space
Our apartment has a kitchen, bathroom, guest bedroom, living room with a table, and a pleasant back porch to relax. Guests can feel free to watch TV in the living room and use the kitchen if they like. Guests are welcome to put some of their food in the fridge or cook their own food. We have coffee and tea available every morning.

Guest access
Guests have access to a shared kitchen, a bathroom with a shower, their own bedroom, a shared living room area, and a pleasantly quiet back porch amongst many trees.

We do tend to get up during the night often and we are light sleepers. Since the living room is a shared space and it leads to the backyard, we prefer that everyone who stays here sleeps in the bedroom, not on the couch. Thank you for understanding.

2. The number of guests checking in are the only guests allowed to stay as agreed in the reservation. This is also an Airbnb rule so we would like to make sure guests fully understand. We have had a good standing here, for a while now, so we know we are hosting within the guidelines.

3. All third-party bookings (reservations made for a guest that does not match the Airbnb profile) must show ID to hosts. We will take a picture of your ID to ensure we know who you are staying at our listing if we accept your request through the third-party booking. If there is not at least one person who matches any of the guests requesting in that third-party booking, you will not be able to make/keep this reservation. We will not refund money made by a third-party booking of non-matching guests to the request.

4. Please note: we set our heat on at night at 65° F because we are under the covers. If that’s a bit chilly for you, that’s understandable, but it is a legal temperature for New York City to have in a rental. We do have extra blankets always available in the room. During the summer/warmer months, we have our air conditioner on at 72° F and there is a ceiling fan in the guest bedroom in case you’re warm at that temperature.

5. Please be aware that we can not accommodate late sleepers or people who want to check out later than 11 am due to the fact that we may sometimes need to be other places and feel uncomfortable leaving our house open if we have to leave without locking our doors before guests leave. Guests who feel they need to sleep late would not be a good fit for us.

6. We like to ask our guests to communicate with us about their stay so we may be able to better accommodate you for your arrival and departure. Please keep in mind we may have plans and we work so we prefer not to leave our doors open long term. We need this information solely for those reasons. Seasoned Airbnb guests accept this and it has become natural for them to communicate with hosts openly.
