Two blocks away from our room we enjoyed a beautiful river and they have two clean outdoor hot tubs which we tried and loved. The room and the lobby had many complimentary drinks and snacks, all very good for adults and kids. They really cared to make our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. I definitely recommend this hotel and if we ever were to visit Vermont again, l would not go anywhere else. "

Just minutes away from Jay Peak and right on Main Street in Montgomery Center, this home is a short walking distance from a supermarket, restaurants, Trout River, and local bars. The Barn is cozy enough to help you unwind and relax after enjoying all of your favorite Vermont outdoors activities--hitting the slopes, hiking, fishing, etc.

The home has been lovingly renovated and updated while preserving and emphasizing its old Barn charm. Come and relax while you admire the work of a master carpenter throughout the whole house, from its handmade winding staircase to the wooden homemade cover plates.

The kitchen is fully stocked with nice assortment of pots and pans as well as plates, glasses, and silverware. There is also plenty of counter space if you feel like cooking. If you are not serious about cooking a meal, there are a number of options just a few steps away at The Inn (right across the street) or at Bernie's just down the street. You may, if you prefer, drive to The Belfry just up the mountain. Either way, we will leave some bottled water in the fridge to help you get settled. For your convenience, the kitchen is equipped with a DW, LP oven, electric cook top, and a microwave. There is a spice rack, a professional coffee grinder if you prefer to bring your favorite flavor of coffee beans, and a coffee maker. There is a Hearthstone Pizza Oven and large stainless grill outside.

The main home has 3 bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The Master has two Queen size beds and is separate from the other bedrooms for some privacy. The next bedroom has a Queen and a Twin. The third bedroom has a Queen bed and a Day bed. There is a cot and a sofa bed for additional guests in the main Barn. There is also an additional studio/bonus space available with additional beds for a small fee. Please be advised that, unless other arrangements are made, the studio is owner-occupied during the Summer months.

We welcome your small to medium sized nonaggressive dogs. Please verify breed with us before booking. For the comfort of all guests, we prefer them to be of the hypo-allergenic dog breed type. There is an additional $100 pet fee for first and $25 for each additional.

The home has a Rinnai heater and three additional propane fireplaces--two of them being Vermont Hearthstone Gas fireplaces. These last two are handmade right here in Vermont and are beautifully crafted with a marble surrounding.

The larger living area upstairs includes a Smart TV, basic cable/Wi-Fi, and a Xbox One gaming system. There is also a ping pong table, foosball table, and an exercise machine available for your use.

There is a dining room and also a formal dining room for your convenience and comfort. The formal dining room boasts a 12-foot-high stained-glass window sure to impress your guests.

The two full bathrooms are located one on each floor. There is a third bathroom available with the bonus area. There is a laundry room on the main floor as well.

We know you are coming to enjoy the town, but we also know you come to ski/snow board. For that purpose, we provide you with a large, heated mud room for all your gear with plenty of space to hang your coats and secure your equipment away from the street.

There is a binder in the kitchen area with local information for your convenience as well as general house information and rules. We are only 10 miles away so feel free to contact us if anything comes up. We encourage you to please help us maintain the place well-kept for the comfort and convenience of all guests. Please be advised that the home is surrounded by family homes. Quiet time of 10 pm until 6 am is strictly enforced as per town regulations. Please be respectful of local residents. A Nest doorbell is installed to help monitor plowing and parking. Please put any ski equipment in the mudroom.

Check in time was 4:00 PM and we arrived 4:30. We didn’t get communication that the house is not ready so we opened the door and found pile as of trashes which was a second turn-off. Then we heard noise upstairs and realized the house is still being cleaned. We were told to wait another 20 minutes before we can get in. The inside of the house was dirty (not vacuumed, shredded papers underneath the bed)."

Cozy room with a view for one guest in the lower level of a stylish Arts and Crafts house. One cozy twin bed that sleeps one person, small dresser, desk, with black out curtains. You will enter through a shared patio area surrounded by flower gardens with a view of Jay Peak. You will have a private bathroom during your stay, with a shared small lounge area. There's a small fridge, Keurig, and water kettle for you to make coffee or tea. We will work around your schedule to maximize your privacy.

The space
13 miles, 22 minutes to Jay Peak. We have another listing across the driveway, an apartment above the big garage, so you may meet other guests as you come and go.. Shared spaces are the patio and inside hallway/lounge area that we may need to use briefly. You are welcome to walk or snowshoe the mowed paths or trails in the woods on the 25 acre property.

The lower level entry is shared with the hosts.
However, we will use the upstairs entrance as much as possible when you are here. We will work around your schedule.
Your bedroom and bathroom are your private rooms, shared is the entrance/hallway/lounge area.

During your stay
Our main living area is upstairs, the lower level is closed off with a locked door. We are around and available as needed, and you can also text us any time.

Other things to note
We live upstairs with our cat, Sylvester. He doesn't go downstairs when we have guests, the door will stay closed and locked.

Welcome to 94 acres of serenity. This quiet, cozy log cabin is an easy 25 minute drive to the Jay Peak Ski Area. Come home and sit by the fire after a day on the slopes or splashing at the waterpark. Or stay in and cook in the fully-equipped kitchen. Bring your snow boots to explore the trails in the woods. Wifi and Direct TV included. Enosburgh Falls Village, 5 miles away, offers groceries, restaurants, banks and more.

The space
Hunting decor, wood-burning stove and surrounding wilderness make this cabin a true country escape. The home features an open floor plan for you to enjoy the company of your nearest and dearest. This is a family-friendly and pet-friendly home.

The access code will be provided to guests before their arrival.

The entire house is available to guests with the exception of the garage and basement. The house sits on 94 acres which guests are free to roam. A beautiful low sloping waterfall can be found within a 5-7 minute walk of the house. A map will be provided for guests to easily maneuver the property.

Please consult the State of Vermont website for current COVID-19 quarantine regulations. Rapid testing is offered at Burlington International Airport.

For the adventurous types, there are abundant geocaches in the area if you're equipped with a GPS and want to spend the afternoon checking some hides off your list.

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful setting. This two bedroom cabin is steps away from 200 feet of lakefront on Lake Champlain. Boat ramp, dock and mooring are available – see guest access section for details. Many non-motorized watercraft are available for your use – two standup paddle boards, paddle boat, two person sea kayak, fishing kayak, canoe, and a rowboat.

AC only in downstairs bedroom.

Three night minimum off season. One week minimum July and August, Saturday to Saturday.

The space
This cabin has a unique layout with an open concept living area with cathedral ceilings. There is a separate bedroom with queen bed and additional sleeping area in a loft that is accessed by stairs.

The cabin is surrounded by decks with a gas grill and outdoor dining with beautiful western facing views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack mountains. Sunsets are spectacular!

This quiet section of Lake Champlain, known as the Inland Sea, is perfect for fishing, paddling and swimming. Bicycling is excellent in this area, there are many scenic rail trails. We have assorted bicycles that you’re welcome to borrow. Half a mile from the cabin there is a town park with a playground, tennis/ pickle ball courts and basketball court. There is also a pavilion and bathrooms, making it a good place to host larger gatherings.

Guest access
This property is semi – private. Lake access is shared by another cottage and the owners who live on the adjacent property.

Usability of the boat ramp varies with lake height. Use of the mooring is at the owner’s own risk. The dock is only suitable for loading and unloading, not prolonged use. Please contact owners with any questions.

Sheets and towels are provided but beds are not made.

If anything is needed during your stay we are generally available on the adjacent property.

Enjoy a restful getaway at The 1860 Farmhouse. We purchased the farmhouse in 2018 from a family that had done extensive renovations to the interior. Keeping true to its historic roots, the farmhouse offers modern amenities in a historic setting.

A convenient location close to Jay Peak and Smuggler's Notch, and many Vermont and Quebec attractions within an easy drive. Swiss and Bloom wedding venue and Phoenix Manor are close by.

The space
This enchanting 1860 Farmhouse offers a glimpse into Vermont's rich agricultural history--it was the site of a commercial dairy farm from 1860 through the 1980s. Unfortunately, some of the original structures burned down in 2003, but the carriage barn and a part of the dairy barn remain. Lovingly restored with modern appliances and amenities, the farmhouse retains its historic charm. Two airy porches will allow you to drink in the serenity of beautiful Berkshire, Vermont while you settle into the slower pace of country life. We offer many amenities from a fully-equipped kitchen to a washer and dryer .

The farmhouse is situated on 180 acres of wooded and meadow land. The woods are primarily maple, providing a colorful backdrop to your getaway during leaf-peeping season. In the colder months, the property transforms into a winter wonderland, with ample space for sledding, snowball fights, and a groomed multi-use route, the VAST trail, intersecting the property. During summer months, you'll enjoy the peaceful location with a bounty of recreation options right out your door--from road cycling to hiking, swimming, and fishing.

Beyond the property line, you'll enjoy Enosburg Falls just a five minute drive away-a small town with a lot of character. Dairy farming and maple sugaring are staple industries here, and you'll want to stop by a market or restaurant to try some of the local fare while visiting.

Quebec's wine country is just a fifteen minute drive away--it is known for its cooler climate reds and refreshing white wines, as well as ciders. Within a 30 minutes' drive, Jay Peak Ski Resort and Smuggler's Notch Ski Resort offer winter and summer recreation. The up-and-coming town of St. Albans is also located just about 30 minutes' drive away, and offers more dining and shopping options. Burlington and Montreal are within an easy hours' drive of this quaint farmhouse, and both cities offer great music, food, and art culture.

Hiking and biking abound, with winding country roads perfect for road cyclists, and dirt trails around the property and nearby for exploring. The Long Trail, which runs the full 261 mile length of Vermont, is located just a 30 minute drive away.

Lake Carmi State Park is just a 10 minute drive away, where anglers, swimmers, and paddlers will find a quiet haven to practice their sport.

We have a full kitchen and two full baths at your disposal along with a two car garage that will enhance your stay. The house is set back off of a paved road and accessed by a 300' +/- long gravel driveway up a typical Vermont hill grade. Winter driving conditions should always be expected when visiting Northern Vermont mid-November to mid-April.

The space
There are two ponds on the property. The one being an active beaver pond with a small sitting area to experience the solitude and observe the wildlife. The second pond being man made. There's a field stone fire pit and an abundance of wildlife to look for and enjoy. We've seen deer, moose, owls, herons, ducks, birds of prey, chipmunks, turkeys, and geese right in the back yard or flying overhead. In addition to the wildlife, we are centrally located to many Vermont attractions, including the more popular ski resorts: Jay Peak, Smuggler's Notch, and Stowe. Some popular tourism spots and their approximate travel time (hinging on weather/road conditions) from us include:

Cell phones will have service through the wifi to either get or receive calls and texts. Bring your Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc. password(s) to access your account(s) for use thru the blueray DVD player. We also have a selection of dvd's to choose from.There are numerous children's dvd's as well.

Alongside the DVD's you'll find a selection of books (including children's) - or enjoy playing one of the family games.

Guest access
Our guests have access to the house and property. The surrounding woods have many walking trails to enjoy. Step out of the back door of the house and X-country ski or snowshoe on the (ungroomed) 8 acre field. Sit or walk around the pond, Enjoy a picnic on the dock. (FYI - Sections of the pond are over 10 ft. deep. Children MUST be supervised at ALL times!) Take a stroll to the active beaver pond at the end of the field and watch the geese, ducks, herons, kingfisher, and beavers. Relax in the evening and sit around the campfire and toast a few marshmallows. Our night skies are spectacular!

Our guests do not have access to the basement, small upstairs bedroom, or small room off of the kitchen used to store cleaning and maintenance products.

Other things to note
The bedroom with the queen bed is on the first floor, as is the bathroom. The other bedrooms are upstairs.

One plush body towel, hand towel, and washcloth will be provided for each guest per visit.

Guest have there own entrances. Although our place has only one yard,we try to stay on our own side, and give guests there own privacy on there side.
Guests are welcome to go down by the dock area to swim ,kayak etc.
We hardly ever go down to the patio area,and try to keep that area exclusively for the guests.
We try to give guests all the privacy they want.

Enjoy this small but cozy cabin surrounded by woods and beautiful Mountain views on a dead-end road. Private hideaway with a large deck to enjoy the stunning views cuddled in a blanket by the fire pit. Cook out on the grill and enjoy eating outdoors to enjoy the peacefulness. The kitchen is fully equipped with the essentials you will need and also with basic cooking supplies with a corner seating kitchen table. The main floor also has a full-size bedroom and closet, a bathroom, a living room with a Roku TV, and an electric fireplace. The basement has a king-sized bed that can be curtained for privacy between the two twin beds. The basement also has a futon/couch, a Roku TV, and a fan if you like more air movement. The property has free Wi-Fi.

Things to know about our Area:

We are sharing a home with wildlife around us. Please pick up food from the outside and dispose of it properly. We understand they would like to meet the new company but now is not the time :)

Anyone over 25 may rent the cabin.

We are located on a dead-end dirt road and the driving conditions from late Fall through Spring may get difficult, we suggest a 4-wheel drive or snow tires on your vehicle to ensure no problem getting to your stay. We will maintain the driveway in the snowstorms. Please do not try driving in Northern Vermont during the winter without snow tires on. Winter and mud season is the real deal here.

You may enjoy a walk in the woods while staying on the roads, however during the hunting season October-December it may be necessary to avoid walks during this time. If you are out for a short walk down the road please wear orange.

Main upstairs bedroom with attached full bathroom, two downstairs bedrooms (one with a full bed, and one with two twin beds), and a second full bathroom downstairs. All three bedrooms include walk-in closets with hangers. Extra large couch downstairs; can be used for sleeping. Air mattress available for extra sleeping arrangements as well.

Please note that the TV in the living room is a Smart TV; it does not receive cable but can access streaming services.

Upstairs loft contains gaming table, games, and yoga mats available for guest use. For working spaces, there is a desk in the main bedroom and another in the loft (in addition to the gaming table).

Full kitchen with dishwasher, oven, microwave, refrigerator, Keurig, and dishes / cookware available for guest use and ample cabinet space. Items such as a pizza cutter, colander, measuring cups, baking sheets, and a rice cooker make it easy to prepare all kinds of cuisines. The house also includes a laundry room with dryer.

The back door opens directly onto the deck, which is connected to the hot tub. The front of the house includes a porch with two Adirondack chairs.

The property includes 2+ acres of open space surrounding the cabin and a total of 28 acres, with private, marked trails through the wooded area.

Please note that there is no air conditioning in the cabin; in the summer the best way to keep cool is to open windows on opposite sides of the house to get a cross breeze

Please note that this is a 100% log / wooden house in the mountains, and fall is ladybug season in the area. The house will be cleaned the same day prior to guests' arrival and has been recently re-sealed, but the ladybugs may still manage to get in, and some may be on the floor despite our best efforts. However, they are not harmful to people or dogs, just a nuisance. There is a hand vacuum and a robot vacuum that can be used to clean them up. No refunds will be given for bug-related issues.

If using GPS, we recommend that guests pre-download the directions, as the signal in the mountains can be spotty.

Please note that the house is on a dirt road. Coming from the direction of East Bakersfield Road (off Vt Route 108), the dirt stretch is about 1 mile. Coming from the other direction, Lapland Road (off Vt Route 109), the dirt stretch is about 5 miles. Depending on the weather, mud season (when the snow melts and makes everything muddy) begins in March or early April and can make this dirt stretch rough to drive.

The bugs wont bother you in the charming screen in sitting/eating area. Enjoy a campfire under the stars by the firepit. Easily fish, boat, and swim from the shore. There is an adult kayak and canoe available for use during your stay with some life jackets. Note, there is no dock. There is a boat launch and public beach on the north end of the pond. The public beach is sandy and great for kids.

This is a great vacation destination located right on the border of Quebec and Vermont.
