The Wandering Place is a cozy, waterfront retreat tucked away in a quiet & peaceful area of Gantt Lake! A great place to just hang out, relax & enjoy nature. Or if you are looking for adventure, there is plenty of that to offer as well!

The water is just a few steps away from the back porch & we have a great dock for those who love to fish or swim. You will also have access to the boat ramp & slip.

This lake cottage features three bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, laundry room complete with washer & dryer, inside & outside dining area, a living room & a spacious back deck with a perfect view of the lake.

Each bedroom has one queen bed & linens are provided.

The kitchen space includes a microwave, coffee maker, Keurig, toaster, tea kettle & has everything needed to prepare a fully cooked meal. You just need to bring the food! I do provide some coffee, Keurig cups & tea selections to get your stay started. There is a 4 person table in the dining nook & there is also an 8 person table provided on the outside patio.

You will have access to a washer/dryer so don't forget the laundry detergent!

Each bathroom will include hand soap, towels & bath cloths.

Our outside deck has plenty of seating so you can relax, take in our beautiful lake sunsets & hang out with family & friends. I do have a variety of board games available so please feel free to use them!

Please be sure to bring any water toys with you...boat, jet ski, floats, paddle board, kayak, fishing poles, ect. We have a boat slip that you are welcome to use.

A beautiful ranch home in a safe neighborhood 3 BR/2 full bath, approximately 1650 Sq Ft only 3 miles from Fort Rucker front gate. The home is beautifully decorated and will surely make you feel at home. There is a large back yard with a privacy fence and a 6-burner gas grill and patio furniture for leisure. My place is close to shopping and dining. You’ll love The Sanctuary because of the location, unique design, in house laundry, large bedroom and very comfortable Nectar memory foam mattress. I fully equip the apt with linen, towels, pots and pans, dishes and silverware, dish soap, laundry and dishwasher pods, K cups, S&P etc... The gas grill is ready to go. Don't feel like cooking/driving- Jimmy John's, Mellow Mushroom, Hungry Howie's, Dominoes, Marcos Pizza all deliver.
The space
Although the apartment is on the property with the main house, it is at the far corner of the lot (4 acres). This is not just someone's extra space in their home, it was designed and built for this purpose. I take great pride in ensuring the place is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between guests. All linen and towels washed with hypoallergenic detergent between guests.

Covered deck with vertical lift and lower patio area with a gas grill. Cargo lift available for moving luggage and personal items up to and down from the second floor deck.

If guest doesn't have an extension cord, it may be possible, with prior coordination, to change parking assignments so that they could have direct access to the outlet without an extension cord.

I was surprised to discover how many people out there simply sweep in-between guests, and only wash bathroom mats when they look dirty. Also, the mini split AC/Heat air handlers are outfitted with plasma air purification systems similar to those used in hospitals and restaurants to kill germs (including the COVID-19 virus).

Custom built to be used exclusively as a short term rental. It was handcrafted using tongue and groove pine milled here in Alabama. All of the oak and pine trim were milled in Virginia using my stepfather's personal sawmill with lumber harvested both from my property here in Alabama, and my families property in Virginia. Even the door\drawer pulls and switch plates were hand forged in PA by an Amish guy at his home forge in his basement.

**The space**
The living room has a 65 in Roku TV with premium channels and surround sound, and the couch is real aniline leather. You will also find a variety of board games to spend time with the family and get yourselves off the devices.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare your meals. There's an oven, stove top, microwave, toaster, refrigerator with ice maker, and both a drip type and Keurig style coffee makers.

The master bedroom has a queen size captain's bed with a comfortable Nectar memory foam mattress, and two large drawers built in for your wardrobe. You'll also find a 42" Roku tv, also with premium channels. In the closet we provide a full size washer and dryer set, small ironing board and iron, and hangers for your clothing.

The kids loft is my favorite.
Every time I go up there it makes me feel like I'm a kid again. There are two twin size beds, each with its own outlet. It's set up to feel like it's an old frontier jail house. The kids might even find the hidden door that allows them to spy on the guards down in the living room. With each bed containing a memory foam mattress, it's even comfortable enough for adults.

Each space has its own mini split type climate control system allowing different temperatures to be set throughout the apartment.

The large covered deck is a great place to enjoy your coffee in the morning or just relax in the evening.
Under the deck you will find a gas grill and an area to sit out of the weather while you're steaks are cooking.

Oh yeah... can't forget the large covered parking area :-)

**Guest access**
Access to the apartment is gained from a 40' covered deck. The building is just outside Enterprise city limits in a beautiful country setting.

This is a second story apartment. Although a cargo elevator is provided for your luggage and anything else you don't want to carry up the stairs, guests must be able to negotiate stairs safely. If you have any small children you must take responsibility for their safety.

I get a lot of requests to make an exception to my policy of not allowing pets. Not only do I need to protect my investment, but I need to consider those that may have pet allergies. With all the carpet and leather couch, this apartment is simply not suited for animals.

Newly constructed home sits atop a high ridge with gorgeous views of Gantt Lake, especially sunrise and moonrise. It is small, but built well, clean, and free of bugs. The sheets and towels are quality, but due to signs of wear they are no longer used in my premium Airbnb's, but they are still fully serviceable and clean.

The AC/heat works great, the shower is hot, and the pillow top mattress is comfortable.

The 55" Roku TV includes subscriptions to Paramount Plus, Apple TV, Prime Video, HBO Max, Peacock, Friendly TV, and Disney +.

The kitchenette has a coffee maker (K-cup style) hotplate, toaster, microwave, and crockpot.

The Laundry Room is located on the other end of the property in the same building with my other AirBNB's. Any guest staying at the "Eagle's Nest" would simply request a code to the lock to gain access.

My place is close to shopping and dining. You’ll love The Sanctuary because of the location, unique design, in house laundry, large bedroom and very comfortable Nectar memory foam mattress. I fully equip the apt with linen, towels, pots and pans, dishes and silverware, dish soap, laundry and dishwasher pods, K cups, S&P etc... The gas grill is ready to go. Don't feel like cooking/driving- Jimmy John's, Mellow Mushroom, Hungry Howie's, Dominoes, Marcos Pizza all deliver.

Although the apartment is on the property with the main house, it is at the far corner of the lot (4 acres). This is not just someone's extra space in their home, it was designed and built for this purpose. I take great pride in ensuring the place is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between guests. All linen, blankets, bathroom rugs and towels washed with hypoallergenic detergent between guests.

**EV Charging**
A 110v 30a RV outlet is available for a small fee, upon request, for EV charging. Guest is a responsible for providing proper adapter for their vehicle and extension cord as the outlet is about 15' from parking spot. Guest should make contact with me prior to booking, or at least prior to arrival to ensure availability and access. If guest doesn't have an extension cord, it may be possible, with prior coordination, to change parking assignments so that they could have direct access to the outlet without an extension cord.

**Cleanliness note**
In between guests we wash ALL bedding. Many Airbnb hosts, and most hotels, do not wash bed cover often. They often use big fluffy comforters that look great in pictures but are impractical and difficult to wash. We use thin fleece blankets that are warm, comfortable, and very easy to wash. We also ALWAYS wash all bathroom floor mats, and ALWAYS clean and disinfect all hard surface floors. I was surprised to discover how many people out there simply sweep in between guests, and only wash bathroom mats when they look dirty. The best indicator of how well a host cleans is the feedback from their guests. If you were to read through all of my feedback, on this and my other properties, you will note there are zero complaints about cleanliness. That is something I take great pride in and work hard to maintain.

I spent 2 years custom building this apartment to be used exclusively as an Abnb rental. It was handcrafted using tongue & groove pine milled here in AL. All of the oak/pine used for the trim, cabinet doors, and custom furniture were milled in VA using my stepfather's personal sawmill with lumber harvested both from my property here in AL, and my families property in VA. Even the door/drawer pulls and switch/outlet covers were hand forged in PA by an Amish guy at his home forge in his basement.

The space
The living room has a 58 in Roku TV with premium channels and surround sound, and the couch is real aniline leather. You will also find a variety of board games to spend time with the family and get yourselves off the devices.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare your meals. There's an oven, stove top, microwave, toaster, refrigerator with ice maker, and both a drip type and Keurig style coffee makers.

The master bedroom has a queen size captain's bed with a comfortable Nectar memory foam mattress, and two large drawers built in for your wardrobe. You'll also find a 42" Roku tv, also with premium channels. In the closet we provide a full size washer and dryer set, small ironing board and iron, and hangers for your clothing.

The kids loft is my favorite.
Every time I go up there it makes me feel like I'm a kid again. There are two twin size beds, each with its own outlet. It's set up to feel like it's an old frontier jail house. The kids might even find the hidden door that allows them to spy on the guards down in the living room. With each bed containing a memory foam mattress, it's even comfortable enough for adults.

Each space has its own mini split type climate control system allowing different temperatures to be set throughout the apartment.

The large covered deck is a great place to enjoy your coffee in the morning or just relax in the evening.
Under the deck you will find a gas grill and an area to sit out of the weather while you're steaks are cooking.

Oh yeah... can't forget the large covered parking area :-)

Guest access
Access to the apartment is gained from a 40' covered deck. The building is just outside Enterprise city limits in a beautiful country setting.

Other things to note
Apartment is accessed with four digit code which will be given to the guest prior to arrival. I am available to help at check in, however guests may arrive after hours and access the apartment on their own...

This is a second story apartment. Although a cargo elevator is provided for your luggage and anything else you don't want to carry up the stairs, guests must be able to negotiate stairs safely. If you have any small children you must take responsibility for their safety.

Pet Policy-
I get a lot of requests to make an exception to my policy of not allowing pets. Not only do I need to protect my investment, but I need to consider those that may have pet allergies. With all the carpet, and leather couch, this apartment is simply not suited for animals.
