Taylor's Pharmacy operating years were a time when treating a date to an ice cream soda or a lime rickey at a pharmacy was a ritual in the art of courting. The pharmacy soda fountains served a mouth-watering array of sundaes, splits and frappes while featuring specialized Fall River drinks such as vanilla cokes and the iconic coffee cabinet. Kids would play in Ruggles Park and stop at the pharmacy to buy candy.

It's the nostalgia of those days I try to bring into Taylor's Pharmacy Guesthouse space through old pictures of the Pharmacy and our neighborhood, vintage elements related to the drugstore, the 40s-70s, and the history of our city.

Air conditioning & Heating: There are no restrictions set on the AC's or on the heating and the home can be set to any temperature needed for a comfortable stay. With multiple AC units in the kitchen and bedrooms, the home is effortlessly cooled during summer months. In addition The south facing waterfront home allows for the strong coastal winds to blow through the home and add a very refreshing coastal breeze if Air conditioners are not preferred.

Cameras- 2 Ring Doorbell Cameras. One the Front Door monitoring the front entry and one on the Back door monitoring the rear entry, 1 attached to the garage overlooking the driveway.

All Cameras are motion activated and record sound & video

In addition part of the cleaners policy is that they video record their work before and after each clean to take stock of condition and confirm inventory such as kitchenware, linens, decor, electronics etc.

He is very thoughtful and remembered to add details to his home .. kayaks, life jackets , locally made necklaces coffee bar and refrigerator in the master as well as a sauna. He also made arrangements for a chef to cook for us one night. This location is an hour from Boston or Newport and Block Island Ferry. Private access to a beach was right across the street. The porch was huge with plenty of seating. Gary was extremely easy to communicate with, very kind and quick to respond. We would absolutely love to stay at Heart of Somerset again!!!!"

Three quarters of the house has water views. 2 bedrooms inside the home, a bonus room detached from the house which features another sofa and tv, and two dedicated work areas, family-friendly touches like board games and Montessori-style toys for little ones, our home is perfect for small families or two couples. Somerset's a small town surrounded by big attractions. It's 15 minutes from Providence, 30 minutes from Newport and Cape Cod, and 50 mins from Boston.

- "Two out of state friends came to visit me in MA, and this cottage was a perfect choice for us to enjoy our time together, and is a great location to enjoy the surrounding areas. While in the home, we mainly hung out around the large dining table playing a variety of card/board games, and when we took breaks, the couch was easy for the 3 of us to get very cozy, especially with the plethora of blankets and throw pillows throughout the house. Great bonus was that the Keurig is a newer model with a milk frother. The only thing of note that could be helpful to potential renters that wasn't described on the listing are that the bathroom and all bedrooms are on the 2nd floor, so prepare to get a workout if you maintain good hydration. The backyard area is very cute with a firepit and adirondack chairs, however it was much too hot/humid during the time we stayed in July, so sadly no s'mores for us. Maybe next time! Overall, the home is extremely clean and the decor is like Pinterest came to life! Very cute touches everywhere, rules were very reasonable and plainly listed in the areas they applied. Thank you to these hosts for the lovely stay!"

New for the summer of 2024 is our oversized stone patio with a covered 16' by 24' pavilion. Enjoy the covered outdoor space and the large outdoor stone fireplace. This space is shared with the second floor apartment The Crows Nest. Book both apartments and the space is exclusively yours.
