The only small thing they needed to add was a bath mat for the tub, it was very slippery, and maybe a small step stool for shorter people to reach some items in the cupboard. I'm only 5'4". Other than that, we had an excellent stay. We did get to meet the owner, because we initially had trouble getting into the apartment and he was a very friendly person. - "This property was at most the horrible experience. Property is not at all where it states on the website. When we arrived the ceiling was falling due to an old leakage and when I communicated with someone in charge of property, they said maintenance will come. We stood for a week and they came at the second to last day of our stay. It was cold every morning and the windows were patched with garbage bags. Everything was prone to disconnect from walls such as everything in bathroom. In addition to paying for the stay they tried to charge me $59/per person per night. Everything was communicated but ignored. I even took pics and videos. In return I was giving a late check out with no charge so far who knows."

- "The apartment was clean, suited with the appropriate basic kitchen and linen items you would need to get along day to day. The way the apartment is fitted, there's tons of room for your stuff. The A/C, heat, water pressure in the shower are all fantastic. There are 2 large closets to hang clothes. The building overall is safe. There is a childcare center on the 2nd floor that is mostly under control. This apartment is on the first floor with 5 stairs to reach the apartment. The terrain of the area is made up of hills. The street is on a hill and the adjacent avenue is on a hill. There is anything you could need within a few blocks but right across is a Dollar store that really offers everything and an amazing hair salon along with laundry service. The neighborhood can get loud but there's fans within the apartment that drowns out all that or turn on one of the huge fantastic televisions in the place. Mr. Lambert is a fantastic host and always available for questions and to help out with any apartment problems.Truly a gem. "

You'll be the only guests of this owner occupied, self contained yet attached garden suite directly across the street from the Morris-Jumel Mansion, George Washington’s headquarters for 1776′s Battle of Harlem Heights and home to the infamous grand horizontal, Madame Jumel. At the time Duke Ellington dubbed the house “The Crown of Sugar Hill,” the immediate neighborhood was also home to Joe Louis, W.E.B. Our one and only listing is a private house right in the middle of the Bronx and close to all major attractions such as the the Bronx Zoo, the Bronx Botanical Garden, Fordham Shopping District, and Yankee Stadium to name a few. We are located in a diverse neighborhood with people from all walks of life. Whereas the summer months bring out the cultural aspect to the neighborhood, fall and winter exposes the tranquil bitter chill of the community.

Guest(s) will have their own private bedroom and private bathroom. There is a small shared bathroom and as stated, it is shared. The private-full bathroom is strictly for our guest(s) and for their personal and exclusive use.

As for the kitchen, our guests will have access to the microwave, coffee maker/tea-maker pot, toaster, refrigerator, and filtered water. However, guests are NOT allowed to use the stove. The front porch is available all year round while the backyard is only available during spring, summer, and fall - weather permitting.

We enjoy socializing with our guests, make ourselves available when needed, and when time allows. Airbnb is a travel-portal that allows us the privilege to meet people domestically and internationally. However, we also know that our guests need their space to rest and relax to kickback and unwind; and that - too - is honored.

During your stay
As hosts, we commit to ensuring that our guests have a clean room, privacy, and peace of mind. We are available to answer questions; provide adequate directions, and valuable tips as well as socialize with our guest(s).

Most importantly, we want our guests to feel as if they are at home! Arnol and I have traveled extensively, therefore, we rely on personal experience that has taught us how guest(s) should be treated when they are away from home. In turn, this allow us to apply those values into our airbnb; and by extension, to our guest(s). Finally, please note that due to our work schedules luggage drop-off is only feasible during weekends.

Other things to note
All Guest(s): Please be advised that for safety and security reasons NO ONE but the assigned-registered Airbnb guest(s) - one or two people fully registered with Airbnb at the time of arrival to the house - is/are allowed on the premises (IE: If upon reserving the room we see "one guest" on the Airbnb reservation page, then we expect "one guest" throughout the stay at the house).

If you plan to use the MTA subway system to reach our home - particularly the "D" train - be advised that it's better to use the "Fordham Road" train station and not the "182nd-183rd" station that your phone app might direct you to.

We also have two cats - Micky and Mimi. They are both quite friendly. We hope this does not negatively impact your stay (allergies) as we will try to keep them on the second floor while there are Airbnb guests in the house.

Furthermore, our home is a smoke-free environment, however, smokers may smoke on the front porch or in the backyard when the yard is open in the spring, fall, and summer months.

Be advised that the room has a window installed A/C during the months of June, July, August, and September (May and October as needed).

Lastly, the neighborhood is quite safe. However bear in mind that despite the neighborhood being safe one should alway practice the art of being alert and cautious at all times. NYC is no different from any other major city around the world. A little common sense goes a long way.
