The only small thing they needed to add was a bath mat for the tub, it was very slippery, and maybe a small step stool for shorter people to reach some items in the cupboard. I'm only 5'4". - "This property was at most the horrible experience. Property is not at all where it states on the website. When we arrived the ceiling was falling due to an old leakage and when I communicated with someone in charge of property, they said maintenance will come. We stood for a week and they came at the second to last day of our stay. It was cold every morning and the windows were patched with garbage bags. Everything was prone to disconnect from walls such as everything in bathroom. In addition to paying for the stay they tried to charge me $59/per person per night. Everything was communicated but ignored. I even took pics and videos. In return I was giving a late check out with no charge so far who knows."

The A/C, heat, water pressure in the shower are all fantastic. There are 2 large closets to hang clothes. The building overall is safe. There is a childcare center on the 2nd floor that is mostly under control. This apartment is on the first floor with 5 stairs to reach the apartment. The terrain of the area is made up of hills. The street is on a hill and the adjacent avenue is on a hill. There is anything you could need within a few blocks but right across is a Dollar store that really offers everything and an amazing hair salon along with laundry service. The neighborhood can get loud but there's fans within the apartment that drowns out all that or turn on one of the huge fantastic televisions in the place. - "I was looking for a 4 month long stay, but decided to leave shortly after a month. I recommend staying short term as a vacation rental only. Host is kind and welcoming, but I recommend asking her for every single one of her rules, as well as stipulations on guests before you decide to stay, they are not all listed on the booking and it may sway your decision. The owner lives above and has access to the rental, so if that makes you uncomfortable I'd have a conversation with her about it. I personally did not feel comfortable there, but she keeps a nice and clean rental and can be a perfect place for a short vacation."

This is a ground-floor apartment. After collecting the key from the lockbox located next to the front door of the house, you will enter the ground floor and walk past the stairs and directly to the apartment door. You will enter through the kitchen. To the right is the living room and through this room you find French doors leading to the bedroom. In this room is another door out of the apartment. However, we suggest keeping this door locked and using only the kitchen entrance. Leading out from the kitchen before entering the living room is a hallway where you will find the bathroom and a closet for hanging clothes. The bedroom has two dresser drawers as well. There is a backdoor leading to a small backyard/garden with a table and chairs if you wish to dine outside. Please always make sure all doors are locked whenever you leave the apartment.

This is a great neighborhopod for walking and there is lots to explore. Parking near the house on the street is typically available. Please do not park in the house driveway or anywhere on the property. Parking is free on the street only. This neighborhood is great for exploring and you can easily walk to Van Cortlandt Park from here (approx. 10 minutes walk).

Please take note that there is another apartment upstairs in the home. No parties or loud music/noises are allowed in the apartment and outside in the garden. You must respect the privacy of the family who lives here full time. This is not a party house. Rentals are for no less than 30 days per NYC regulations.
