Next is the kitchen, a large slop sink is perfect for artists needing to clean their brushes, the fridge includes a freezer for longer stays, and an induction cook eye is available for those meals that can't be prepared in the convection toaster/air fryer or microwave.

The bathroom includes towels and a walk-in shower. A small utility closet hides your full length mirror, and don't forget to flip the switch to enjoy your beautiful custom stained glass window!

Welcome to this well appointed and charming first floor 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom unit. Perfect for 2 people who want to be in a perfect location close to everything in Richmond. The unit features a full kitchen, private bathroom, personal entrance, shared laundry room with the unit above via locked door, covered porch with table and chairs for morning coffee, on street parking or off street parking accessed via alley, Keurig coffee maker (limited coffee supplied), heated pulsating foot massager, hair dryer, ironing board and iron, dishes, linens and towels, tv with basic cable, WIFI and a new queen mattress. Originally built in 1948 by a soldier for his family and Mother-in-law (this unit was for her) this home has been well kept and has an open yard. Westover Hills is an extremely active neighborhood with walkers and bikers passing by. You can walk or bike to Buttermilk Trail and James River Park where you have miles of off road and/or paths. Walk to local eateries and coffee shops. Just over the bridge to Maymont and Carytown. Minutes from downtown, VCU, U of R and the Museums. Lets not forget the Saturday morning South of the James farmers market! Not to be missed! No pets. Well behaved children welcome. No smoking on premises. Limited to 2 adults. There is a keypad for entry that will be programed per stay with no need to schedule a meeting or find a key. Come and go as you like. Very flexible with check in and out as long no there are no same day bookings.

The park pics I included are some of my favorite places in Forest Hill Park and the James River Park System. Forest Hill Park is about a mile away and The James River Park is about a half mile away and runs for miles.

The entire guest suite is yours to enjoy! This intimate one bedroom suite was bulit in 2023 and featues an open concept design, lots of natural light, a comfortable queen size memory foam bed, a rainhead shower in the bath, a small kitchenette and an electric fireplace in the living room for a cozy evening in.

Kitchenette: This small area includes all you need to cook simple meals when you don't feel like venturing out to one of the many excellent resturants that Richmond has to offer. Appliances include a single-burner Cusimax hot plate, microwave, toaster, and blender. The coffee maker offers several options so you can brew a single cup or carafe with ground coffee or use a K-cup for single servings.

Living room: Relax and enjoy the large 4k Roku TV. The Disney+ bundle is included (Disney, Hulu and ESPN). Feel free to personalize the home screen with your preferred apps. The desk includes a bluetooth keyboard and mouse and high speed internet.

Bathroom: Full bathroom with all the essentials, including a hair dryer and makeup mirror. The large shower with seat has a rainfall shower head and separate shower wand. And the heated floor adds an extra touch of luxury.

Bedroom: The bed has a queen size memory foam mattress with several styles of pillow so you can choose what suits you best. There is a second 50" Smart TV in the bedroom. To reduce the amount of light in the bedroom there are blackout curtains for the windows and in the openings between the bedroom and the living room area. The mid century style sofa in the living room can accommodate one person for sleeping. It does fold out to provide extra sleeping space.

Deck: There is a private deck in the rear that is just for your use. Enjoy a cup of morning coffee in your own outdoor space. In the spring the camellia tree just off the deck offers wonderful red blossoms.

This guest suite is a separate section of our personal residence. We understand that most guests prefer the privacy of independent travel so you probably won't see us at all during your stay! The household in our portion of the home does include three cats. While we try to restrict their access to the guest suite at all times it is possible that one of our kitties has spent some time in the area prior to your arrival. Parking and access: This first floor guest suite has it's own sidewalk and separate entrance. You can park just in front of the sidewalk on the street. There is a wheelchair ramp about 100 feet from the sidewalk and no steps from the sidewalk to the suite. With the smart lock you will have your own code for entry.

We once concocted — with our friends at Rebel Bourbon — a two-day, 100-mile minibike race called THE REBEL 100. 'Twas so epic we decided to dedicate a room to it.

Classified Moto is designed to be a fairly self-sufficient boutique hotel — check yourself in, enjoy the place, check yourself out. That said, we love meeting our visitors and showing them around when it works out. Hit us up by text or email for questions and dining/entertainment suggestions during your stay. There’s a lot to see and do in Richmond if you know where to look.

Our quirky little neighborhood known as Manchester is just across the river from downtown Richmond. Our old secret location was only a half mile away in what is now a bustling residential, retail and restaurant area. Here, ancient grain silos and train tracks sit amongst brand new condos and eateries under the watchful RVA skyline. If you’ve seen our RESTRICTED series, you’ll recognize a lot of the locations.

From Classified Moto, the most convenient way to enjoy the neighborhood and beyond is by car. Our place is on the outer edge of Manchester and the walk to the action is no scenic masterpiece. You can be at any of Richmond’s restaurants or attractions in no time. So when you want to get out in it, hop in your car, stop by Stella’s for some grab & go food, then go hiking, biking, festivaling, clubbing, kayaking or whatever floats your raft.

If you prefer to call an Uber or Lyft, we can give you some suggestions on where to be dropped off for the best experiential bang for your buck. There’s Scott’s Addition if you like breweries, Carytown if you like shopping, The Museum District, Shockoe Bottom, Belle Isle, Brown’s Island… Do your own research or ask us for recommendations. Either way, it’s gonna be fun.

Speaking of biking, Classified Moto is just minutes from the incredible Virginia Capital Trail — a 52-mile scenic paved path from Richmond to Jamestown/Williamsburg, then on to Yorktown if you want the full historic odyssey. People come from all over to ride this thing. Check it out. It’s impressive.

Access codes for both the gate and the building will be provided upon booking, allowing you to enter the property with ease. Parking is available immediately as you enter the gate, making your arrival hassle-free.

The Minibike Room is adorned with amazing photography from that raucous rally, along with the first place trophy lamp. Most significantly, the room serves as the final resting place for the first bike to be retired from the race. It survived less than one full lap before an overzealous soul wiped out, breaking lots of important components. On the bright side, it looks much better than the bikes that completed all 100 miles. Anyway, we thought you’d like looking at it up on the wall.

This cozy race shrine has two luxurious queen beds and all the things you’d expect from a groovy hotel — with an extra helping of two-wheeled history.

Just outside your door is a comfy kitchenette lounge where you can hang with your buddies or plan your next move. And weather permitting, you can enjoy the 40-foot balcony with an unobstructed view of the Richmond skyline, or grill out in the courtyard on the East side of the building.

And when we knock off work, we’ve been known to have impromptu get-togethers in the venue just above the workshop. If there’s nothing listed on the schedule, just hit us up. You probably won’t have to twist our arms.

Now, About Classified Moto
Classified Moto was formed around 2009 when I was still working as an advertising art director and copywriter and caught the bug for designing retro-modern apocalyptic custom bikes. Since then, we’ve sent builds everywhere from Detroit to Dubai, Greece to Green Bay. Shreveport to Sri Lanka (ok, not Sri Lanka yet). We’ve even built a few for celebs and TV & Hollywood, including AMC’s THE WALKING DEAD and a recent Ryan Reynolds/Michael Bay action flick.

The Building
Classified Moto sits in an industrial area of Richmond, Virginia, called Manchester. Built in 1969 as the headquarters for a bridge fabrication company, the building has just undergone a complete re-design and renovation. It now houses the bike workshop, a small event venue, multiple lounges and hangout areas and — of course — six inspired guest rooms.

— MAIN LOBBY. Comfy couches, high ceilings and great lighting straight out of Mad Men.
— UPSTAIRS KITCHENETTE. Shared full-sized fridge with lots of ice. Microwave, coffee/tea and sink. Right next to a chill lounge that overlooks the main lobby. If your second floor room doesn't come with a coffee/tea maker, it's because everything you need is just outside your door. Help yourself!
— UPSTAIRS LOUNGE. Right next to the kitchenette, this lushly appointed gathering spot has a picture window view of down to the main lobby.
— INSIDE BALCONY. Open to the main lobby below, this sweet spot is a great place to start your day in our mid-century masterpiece.

If you’re a fan of the mid-century vibe, Classified Moto is right up your alley. On arrival through the coded access gate, you’ll notice that the exterior of the building has an imposing presence — “elegantly uninviting” was my direction for the architects.Nailed it.

Like our old headquarters (an 1800s mule barn a half mile away) the new HQ is not meant to attract attention from the street. It’s meant to surprise you once inside — like the Bat Cave.

Things to know about what you’re getting into
We’ve gone to great lengths to make the rooms clean, cozy and full of character for a true boutique hotel experience. That said, there are some quirks that the average Four Seasons type might ding us for. Then again, that kind of traveler probably isn’t looking to stay in a working motorcycle shop.

Being a custom bike shop, Classified Moto is appropriately located in an industrial area. There’s a two lane road frequented by big trucks in front of us. There are train tracks behind us. You WILL hear some of this during your stay. We enjoy the hustle, but if you’re looking for ultimate quiet, maybe this isn’t the place.

You might hear us grinding metal or starting up a bike. We try to keep the noise to a minimum, but sometimes duty calls.

Lastly, we have regular get togethers in our venue on Fridays and other random times. Like the bike shop, it’s on the opposite wing of the building from the guest rooms. You might hear some music during certain hours. The venue is available to rent for events, but if it’s not booked and we’re having one of our things, feel free to stop by and hang out. Fun is always had by all. We keep guests posted as to what’s going on, so stay tuned.

As you step into the apartment, the first thing you'll notice is the high ceilings, large windows, and original hardwood floors (circa 1900).

The living room is airy and inviting. This room features a door to the front porch and balcony.
[BEDROOM]
The bedroom can fit a full or queen size bed. There is a door to a private balcony and a window (with a shade) that lets in plenty of natural light. This room also features a washer and dryer.
[KITCHEN]
The kitchen is beautifully renovated with a stove, refrigerator, and microwave.
[BATHROOM]
The bathroom is clean and well maintained with a shower with strong water pressure and plenty of hot water.

The Space:
KITCHEN
3 kitchens throughout the whole house are fully stocked with all the essentials for making morning coffee and preparing meals. We have a drip coffee maker with all the supplies you need. Some of the many items we keep stocked include a toaster, pots and pans, cooking utensils, storage containers, mixing bowls, wine glasses and drinking glasses. Coffee and tea provided!

BATHROOMS
We have 3 full baths:
the 1st one is on the 1st floor bathrooms with stand-up/Walking in shower. the 2nd one is a shower/tub on the 2nd floor.
the 3rd one is in the backyard independent studio with the Walking in shower as well.
Enjoy the use of the complimentary shampoo, conditioner, body/hand soap, towels, and hair dryers.

BEDROOMS
5 total bedrooms. All feature comfortable pillow top mattresses and smart TVs!
bedroom1: 1 king bed on the 2nd floor with smart tv.
bedroom2: 2 twin beds on the 2nd floor with smart tv.
bedroom3. 1 queen bed and 1 couch bed that convert to a full-size bed with smart tv.
bedroom4: 1 king bed on the 1 floor with smart tv.
bedroom5: this is an independent studio in the backyard stands alone with smart tv.

ENTERTAINMENT
Smart TVs in every bedroom and living room. You can log in to any app of your choice using your personal account info. We do provide access to Disney plus and Hulu. We offer high speed wireless internet as well.

LAUNDRY
2 washers and 2 dryers are provided in the basement for use as well as
laundry detergent and dryer sheets.

Guest Access:
You’ll have access to the entire home, private backyard and patio. Please make yourself at home! Easy self-check-in via smart lock.

Take it easy at this tranquil getaway in historic 1898 Victorian on corner lot overlooking huge backyard just a block off of Forest Hill Avenue. 105 acre Forest Hill Park is just 3 blocks away and a must-see for nature lovers (and a great spot for a jog). Easy access to the James River, Downtown Richmond, Carytown, and the Fan. Walk to breweries, restaurants, and coffee shops.

The space
The spacious room for rent is located on the 2nd level of the home, accessed by a private narrow staircase via a rear entrance, providing more privacy for our guests than you might normally expect. With 12 windows in the room overlooking the gardens and backyard, there is no shortage of natural light should you desire it, but privacy shades are also installed.

The room features a queen bed (Wink Mattress), antique dresser, small table, and desk with chair all over original oak hardwood flooring. Guests have full access to a brand new dedicated thermostat for heating and cooling to your comfort.

A hot water kettle and organic tea selection is provided. Excellent coffee shops are also within walking distance.

The expansive private full bath, located just down the private staircase on the 1st floor, features granite countertops, tiled shower, and tiled floor. Please note: the bath is accessed by passing through a pantry area that we seldom use while guests are here.

During your stay
We like to welcome guests and say hello if possible, but a self check in is also very doable especially if we are not here. We love spending time outside with our three active children and you’re welcome to enjoy the beauty of the woodsy neighborhood with us should you choose.

For those with mobility issues or with very large pieces of luggage, please note the narrow staircase leading to the room (as seen in the pictures).

This cute basement studio is in the heart of Forest Hill neighborhood in Richmond, VA. It is within walking distance of restaurants, coffee shops, James River access points, Forest Hill Park and the South of the James Farmer's Market. It's only a short drive from downtown Richmond, Browns Island & Belle Isle, The Fan, VCU, MCV, VUU, and U of R.

This cozy suite features one double bed, one pull out sofa (also a double), laundry, private bath and a mini fridge in an art filled, funky space.

The space
This is a basement studio space with an open layout. There is unique, folk-y art displayed on the walls, a sitting area w/ coffee table, a double bed, a sofa bed, and a fun mosaic-ed bathroom w/ a large shower.

Coffee maker, microwave, mini frig, blow dryer, fans, extra pillows and blankets, etc. are available for your stay as well.

Guests have access to all outside areas; back porch & deck, and backyard w/ swing! Smoking is permitted outside only. Kitchen and other areas of the home accessible only with owner permission due to pets & COVID-19 CDC guidelines.

Parking: There are 5 parking spots along the side of the building right off the rear alley, in front of the electric meters. You can park in any one of those spots. (Note: these are compact spaces only). There is also street parking, without 24-hour restrictions (unless posted signs state otherwise). There's typically plenty of street parking available, so you shouldn't have any issue parking right next to the building or nearby on the same block.
