The location is perfect for walking to various sights, restaurants and Wonder Bagels (the best in NJ)Very conveniently located!The reason we did not give it 5 stars is 1) the heating unit is old and kept us up at night with the banging of the pipes and water running through the pipes. After three nights, we shut it off at night (it stayed warm all night) and only ran the heater during the day. We also ran the fan only on the bedroom A/C unit and that helped with outside noise. 2) there is only a washer in the unit, no dryer. 3) to get to the units, there is a circular staircase you must climb. We enjoyed our stay and the neighborhood and would recommend it for future rentals. "

- "The listing has been updated due to our pointing out that it wasn't accurate. So the only point out those things that have nothing to do with the issues that it was listed to be more than what it ended up being. This property really isn't worthy of being on vrbo. We'll just say this, it felt like we we're back in our cheap, rundown college apartment days. The rugs walls and comforters were stained and in some places crunchy. The beds were highly uncomfortable - One had deep divots were on each side of the bed and the other would rule you off if you got too close to the edge. The walls are paper thin - be prepared to be woken up early in the morning. There's just the one thermostat for the entire building. We were there in December and it was too warm to sleep comfortably, so we were told to turn the window air conditioners on in the bedrooms. The bathroom is the only room that appears to have any type of new anything in it. But the rain shower needs to be cleaned as all of the holes in the center are blocked so you can be standing under it and not get wet if you're in the middle of the shower immediately under the rain shower. The shower also doesn't drain properly and we were standing in an inch of water no matter how short the shower was. The TV was wonderfully large. But there was a lock on it so you couldn't add any streaming apps that weren't already installed. All of the furniture was rickety and falling apart. The only nice thing about this apartment was its location. It is in a wonderfully quaint neighborhood and walking distance to the train station"

The apartment has heated floors for those cold wintery months and a brand new air conditioning system that keeps you warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
As you enter the apartment you'll see the open floor concept living, dining and full kitchen. The sofa bed is queen size with a memory foam mattress. The living room has a TV set up with Roku and board games for your enjoyment. The sliding barn door hide a washer and dryer for your use. The bedroom is large with a queen sized bed with memory foam mattress. Large enough for an air mattress for a larger group. The closets are large and we provide plenty of hangers, ironing board and iron.
Bathroom is bright and we provide plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner and liquid soap.

As for street parking, weekdays are for the locals—there’s a two-hour limit Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. But come nights and weekends, you’re free to park on the street without a hitch! Far out, right?

The two bedrooms are located on the third floor with two queen beds in one of bedroom. And one queen bed in the master bedroom. Both bedrooms has office desk and chairs. For six guests, we will provide three queen size beds,with fitting sheets, cover sheet.

We take the health and safety of guests seriously. Between each stay, the house is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized following guidance from the CDC. Cleaners wear protective garments (e.g mask, gloves) and wipe surfaces, cabinet handles, door knobs, etc. with cleaning solutions that follow CDC guidance. All linens, dishware, glassware and silverware are also washed between stays. Cleaning products and tools are provided so you can clean and sanitize as well.

We require Hosts and Guests to wear masks during any in-person interaction.

Downtown Jersey City has so much to offer, super hip, fun, and safe. Everything you need is around the block, plenty of shops and eateries, restaurants, cafes.

No parking on property — We do not have a garage or driveway but there is street parking within a block or two. Parking garages on the corner, down the block.

Street parking available from 4pm till 10am Monday-Friday and all weekend. Paid parking is located at Grove Point: 100 Christopher Columbus at Newark Avenue near the Grove Street PATH subway to New York City
Please be advised that Police and parking in-force officers are always driving around the area given fine to cars who are not legal park. Each parking violations fine cost about $55

LIVING & BEDROOM: The studio includes a QUEEN-SIZE bed and a large closet. We provide sets of linens and towels for your use. The bedroom also includes a table, a chair. The space is ideal for ONE person but can accommodate TWO people. Enjoy Netflix in the flat TV.

KITCHEN: There is no proper stove for cooking but there is a kitchenette with a sink and there is also a small fridge and a microwave. Coffee maker also provided.

BATHROOM: enjoy the large bathroom.

STORAGE: For the long term stays (over 29 days) storage in the basement is available for a small additional price. If you have furniture, boxes, or anything that you do not use often, we can accommodate storage for your things so you can have more space. Depending on what you need to store we can agree to a very reduced price.

A LAUNDROMAT is one block away from the apartment. Drop-off service available.

PARKING: The apartment comes with no parking or any street parking. Downtown Jersey City is not the easiest for Parking.

You might find street parking, but every day is a matter of patience and luck, and you have to move the car every day for street cleaning. Therefore you cannot leave the car and forget about it. There are some areas around 10 min walking near Journal Square where Parking is much easier. There is paid private parking in the area, which you can find different options online, as prices change a lot (I recommend SpotHero as the best app to find the best deals). Additionally, Jersey City Heights has many areas for Parking, but it is a 20-minute walk from Downtown.

In any case, public transport is fantastic in the area, and you can walk around to all the most exciting locations. The path train that connects to Manhattan is a 5-7 minutes walk. You have a supermarket a couple of blocks away and all the convenience of downtown JC. You will not need a car to enjoy New York Metropolitan area if you stay in the studio. Still, if you plan to drive every day and need Parking, you might want to try your luck, as indicated above, explore another location in a building with Parking, or look for places that are not Downtown.

Quaint, extra large private studio set behind a brownstone with private entrance through a communal alley. It features a wood paneled alcove sleeping area with double bed, a workspace, and fully equipped kitchen. The bathroom is slate and most everything is built in (I am a woodworker). Super transportation-friendly, it's a few blocks to the Grove Street PATH train (runs all night) and a 5 minute ride to NYC. The entrance from the gravel alley is charming and very safe. Please note that this studio is up a short flight of stairs above a small working wood workshop. YOU MUST GO THROUGH THE SHOP TO GET TO THE APARTMENT. Centrally located in the Jersey City historic district, it is yards away from a supermarket and short walk to the Grove St. PATH Station (5 minutes to NYC). It is three blocks from all the restaurants and local pubs in downtown Jersey City, yet on a quiet brownstone block. There are coffee shops at either end of the alley. It is also available on a monthly basis at a reduced rate, and is ideal for contract workers who need a stay for an assignment.

This ground floor, studio apartment is in downtown Jersey City, where I live part of the year. You have one full-time neighbor upstairs. The building was originally built in 1885 but fully renovated in 2015. The apartment is a studio and has a water heater and water pump in the unit that run occasionally. You will occasionally hear the appliances as well as the upstairs guest footfall ... Ear plugs for sleeping are the simple solution if complete silence is needed.
