Located down the street from Indiana’s largest natural lake, Lake Wawasee, you will find everything you could possibly enjoy while you stay in Syracuse, IN at the Wawasee FROG house.

Just steps away from all your favorite places, this freshly renovated and open concept home will have you feeling like you never left home. Upon entry, you will be met with a light and bright, freshly renovated interior. Our living room offers a comfortable space for you to cool off and relax after a nice long day at the lake. Newly added for the 2024 season is a pull out couch. Walking through, be sure to stop at our “Frog House” feature wall and snap a few photos for your social media with our greenery and LED lighted wall. From there, you can rock, paper, scissors, with your friends or family members for either the King bedroom or Queen bedroom with a shared bathroom located between the two. After you figure out where you are going to crash for the night, you will be met with our eat-in dining room and open kitchen concept with all the kitchen necessities you could think of. The kitchen was fully renovated the Spring of 2024. Off to the right you will notice a doorway with our stackable washer and dryer unit so you are able to travel home with clean clothes before you leave and it also has a half bathroom there as well. Continuing on from there (the kids probably already found it) you will find our double bunk room! Featuring 2 twin over full bunks, a fireplace and sliding glass door with access to our backyard oasis. Hang out on the patio at night by the propane fire pit and on the comfy sectional or play a game of putt putt in the alley located just off the side of the house. You can sit back and enjoy all the live music on the weekends that you can hear playing from the various local venues.

We were there in late fall, so didnt get to enjoy much of the outdoor space or lake, but would love to come back in the summer because it all looked fantastic. Not your typical rental, family owned and I enjoy sharing it the times I cant be there...
Located on the east side of Lake Wawasee on Morrison Island is my cute and completely updated cottage with a large deck over looking a wide open tranquil bay with a couple uninhabited islands with plenty of wild life. The cottage is a perfect place to park your boat for the duration of your stay. And the public access ramp is just a couple minutes drive away. Don't have a boat? No problem. Griffith's Wawasee Marina is just a couple minute walk away to service all your rental needs. Or bring the kayaks up and paddle around. My 14 ft Old town kayak as well as my 12 ft Perception are there for you to use as well.
For the times you don't want to be on the water, the green space on the island is perfect for family games or picnics. And since you'll be on an island, that means very low traffic so bring the bikes on up or your walking or running shoes and get a workout.
The towns nearby are Syracuse and North Webster and both have great places to eat, drink or shop. The Boutiques and antique stores are awesome.
Places to eat on the water? You have The Oakwood, The Channel Marker, and The Frog are all great places to go to after a day on Wawasee's sandbar.
So on to the house. Its 1000 sq ft of functionality. I've had the house for a number of years and have updated it completely front to back. New carpet, fresh paint, new beds, new appliances, new deck, etc. And because kids, and some of us adults can't go anywhere without it, it does have WiFi. And it also has a 55 inch Samsung Smart tv with some pre loaded apps such as Vudu, Hulu, and Disney. No cable tv.
The living room has plenty of space for relaxing or playing family games etc. It also has a single fold out bed and plenty of space for an air mattress for extra guests. The bedroom's are cozy and comfortable. One has a brand new queen size bed, and the other has a brand new full size bed.
The kitchen is outfitted with new stainless appliances and an eating area as well. But the best place to eat is really on the newly built deck that goes over the water. Burgers and chicken off the new grill taste best looking at the scenery that the lake has to offer. But nothing compares to a cup of coffee watching the sunrise. Have your camera ready!
C'mon up and spend a weekend or longer here and make some memories that will last a lifetime!
Added note here.... I do have a small pup and am not opposed to having dogs there as long as they are great dogs. By my definition that is a dog that does not chew on anything and is completely house broken (potty trained) and loves other dogs as many of the Morrison Island residents have dogs.
Added note here, it Does have central air conditioning and a gas grill. It does not have a dishwasher, or a washer and dryer. Also, important to know, the cottage has a newer hot water heater as well as a new water softener, but it does still get a bit of a sulfur smell from time to time when using hot water.

PIER 382, located in the center of Syracuse Lake's prestigious North Shore, is a magnificent custom home that takes full advantage of the property's hilltop location providing breathtaking panoramic views of the lake from all three levels.
NOTE: With it's 3 levels (4 if you count the lake level) there a quite a few stairs. No more than other homes of this style, but enough we feel it important to mention. There is a large main level bedroom w/ adjacent full bath for those wanting to avoid stairs.
Essentially a two-story home with a walk-out lower level. As you enter the foyer on the main level, to the right is the laundry/pantry and rec room, straight ahead is a large bedroom, and to the left is the enormous gourmet kitchen, large dining area, turret-sun room, spectacular great room that overlooks the lake and opens onto the main level balcony. Up the wide staircase there are 4 bedrooms upstairs including the Master and the "dormer-room" with it's 8 twin beds.
The lower level may be accessed from the great room or it's own balcony, and was designed to be a complete 2-bedroom apartment. It offers a family room, a second full kitchen and two bedrooms, including one with the "turret" designed panoramic views.
Built in 2004, this custom lake home has an inviting open floorplan so often lacking in older lake homes. Over 5,000 sq ft of living space, 7 sleeping areas (6 Large Bedrooms plus the huge Dormer room with 8 twin beds), 4 Full Baths, 3 Full Kitchens.
The main floor kitchen is enormous and very well appointed with virtually every appliance and accessory imaginable. It's not an over statement to call it "gourmet."
Pier 382 is the perfect destination for large family gatherings. The enormous great room w/cathedral ceiling and fireplace is often the center point for the day or evenings activities. The wall of lake side windows offer spectacular views of the lake, and the dining area is set up for large groups and is ideal for meals or games. Just off the great room is the spacious main level balcony. The perfect place to catch all the lakeside action, with Adirondak chairs overlooking the lake and the dining area is perfect for outdoor meals or activities. There is also a power awning that covers the balcony dining table to give you a break from the sun.
The lower level was designed to serve as a 2 Bedroom apartment, w/ Full Bath and Full kitchen w/ Breakfast bar, family room and private balcony. This area creates that "someplace else" to read, nap or just get away for a bit. Just outside this area is the Lower-level Balcony, which has a 6-person bar w/ LP Fire Ring overlooking the lakeside patio.
Lakeside patio has a new upholstered seating area, Adirondack chairs, lounge chairs. We just added a 2nd propane "fire ring" for lake side patio, perfect for those cool evenings. Plenty of room to sit, lounge or sun by the lake.
Syracuse Lake and the surrounding area is perfect for, swimming, boating, fishing, sailing, golfing or just relaxing. The lake is beautiful, the water so clean and clear you can see the sandy lake bottom and even fish swimming by from the balcony above. The lake bottom around our pier in particular is very sandy and shallow out to about the 4th or 5th section which provides a wonderful shallow swimming/wadding area for kids and grown-ups a like. Past the 4th section of pier, it starts dropping off to about 6-7 feet deep at the end of the pier. Our pier is a bit longer than most and guests are welcome bring their own boat or rent from local marinas, a few of which will drop off and pick up at the pier.
Syracuse Lake is connected to Lake Wawasee via a channel that goes under the rather low rail bridge on the south side of the lake. NOTE: Guests wishing to boat between the lakes should inquire first, as some boats will not fit under the rail bridge. Both of our speed boats fit under most of the year, but pontoon boats typically will not.
Syracuse lake is an "all sports" lake meaning "speed boats" and water skiing Jet Skis and tubing are allowed. Growing up, Doug's family had a home on Wawasee, but we regularly went to Syracuse Lake preferring it's calmer waters for skiing and tubing.
The North shore of Syracuse Lake is known for its meticulously maintained properties, many of which overlook the lake from a hill. (We like to think of it as the "better part" of the lakes....but we might be biased :) ...or... we might be right ;) haha
The town of Syracuse and the surrounding area are quite charming and offer a multitude of activities and attractions.
Pier 382 is not primarily a rental property, and we won't rent to anyone simply because they have the money. This is our family lake home, and we take pride in maintaining it at that level for both ourselves and our guests. We cater to large families and corporate guests needing a property that can comfortably accommodate up to 20 guests. Doug personally greats all guests at the property. We chose to rent to help offset expenses and because we can't use it all the time, but we are not looking to simply book as many stays as possible.
All the beds and mattresses were purchased new in 2022-23 and are covered with quality linens. We have a great team of housekeepers that understand our standards and work hard to maintain the level of cleanliness we and our guests expect. Please look at our reviews, I ask many guests... "did we over sell it?" and the most common reply ..."it's bigger and better than we expected!"

Great location with Lake Access on Beautiful Lake Wawasee!!! The Island will accommodate up 20 people in beds/sofa bed. Perfect for family gatherings. Property has over 50 feet of pier space to accommodate your personal boats and PWC's. The Island provides over 1.5 acres of space to spread out and plenty of room for parking. It also has mature trees that provide ample amounts of shade on the west end of the island to help keep everyone cool as they enjoy the main channel during their stay.

Guests that stay at the Island have the opportunity to access almost every part of the property. The only place that will not have access will be the 2 car garage.

Absolutely NO FIREWORKS PERMITTED on property!!!

Boat Trailers CANNOT be brought over the island's bridge as it will not make the turn. Please contact either Main Channel Marina or another marina in the area to store you trailer during your stay.

Bring your boat and launch it at either public launch sites near the island property. There is a bridge that crosses over the Main Channel near the Syracuse Lake Public Access that is low to the water that limits certain boats from getting under it. Syracuse lake access accommodates ski boats, runabout boats, and wake boarding boats. Lake Wawasee Public access accommodates every type of boat with no bridges to go under.

Situated on a channel connecting to Lake Wawasee, the largest natural lake in Indiana, this house ensures outdoor adventure! Look forward to plenty of restaurants in the area including 3 that are located on the lake that are accessible by boat. Also there are a couple different marinas located on the lake that you can drive up to by boat and they will fill up your boat for you. Plenty of restaurants, bars, grocery stores, chalets, fast food etc within 10 minutes from the house.

Pontoon Rental - $150 per day with a 2 day minimum. Discounted weekly rate of $895.. Newer pontoon with a new fishfinder and everything you need to enjoy the lake. 125 hp 4 stroke motor. The pontoon is available from April 15th through Oct 31st.

Sorry no pets allowed. We do enjoy pets ourselves but due to some people's pets shedding alot we chose to not allow it.

- There are cornhole boards, Spike Ball and 4 kayaks for outside pleasure. Direct TV on the 5 Smart TVs and board games for inside pleasure.

Shipshewana is 28 minutes away and is a small tourist town is one of the largest flea markets in the world. Lots of small shops, stores, bakeries and Amish food!

** This is not a party house. We want you to have a good time and enjoy yourself but also we ask that you treat our home as you would want yours to be treated. We will enforce a $500 fine if the hot tub is excessively dirty from drinking or food!

The channel ride back to the property from the lake is about 10 minutes but the privacy gained by being at the end of the channel was well worth it. The kids kayaked, played basketball, ping pong, spike ball, and fished right off the dock (and caught a lot of fish!). The pontoon was well worth the extra cost and gave us a nice home base when we were at the sandbar. Communication was great, check-in was super easy and the accommodations were perfect for our group. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a fun-filled week at Wawasee!"

Location right on the main body of Syracuse was great and we docked both fishing boats right at the house. Will stay again!" - "This is a very nice lakefront property. 3 BR / 2.5 Bth lake house on the channel of Lake Wawasee. Bring your boat with plenty of room to park it on the pier during your stay (probably 26' max length). Just a few minutes ride to the main lake right by sandbar! Enjoy your morning coffee with plenty of natural light in the large sunroom. Gas grill and umbrella on the back deck. Portable firepit available for evening bonfires/smores. Several lifejackets available for use. Kayaks (2 tandem & 2 single), 2 SUP, and a pedal boat available for your use. Launch them on the back private launch ramp. Well behaved dogs are more than welcome and will love playing "fetch" using the launch ramp. Fully equipped kitchen. Sleeps 10 - but the full sized bottom of the 2 bunk beds will be "cozy" for adults. 2 smart TV's and wifi available. Sorry, but the boat and waverunners in pics are not for rent.

- "This is a neat and tidy, clean, well appointed, and pet friendly property. We had 6 grown adults, 2 med. sized dogs, and had plenty of room for both spreading out and hanging out together. The boat dock was so convenient to have for our own boat docking. We all enjoyed paddling every day in the 4 kayaks, 2 SUPs, and pedal boat. (LOADS of life jackets in varying sizes) The kitchen and laundry room are both fully stocked making it so convenient for daily meal prep and the clothing accidents that occur. And the sunroom was such a joy to relax in! Neighbors are friendly. Public boat launch, good restaurants, a grocery store, and bait shops are close by."
