We were unable to reach the ceiling fan chain without having to get on the bed, The Air Conditioner wasn't working on he first floor which made it a bit stuff but with open windows at night it was tolerable considering we had 60/70 degree weather. Basically, it seems as though the house could use a lot of minor repairs. There is NO parking on site. The parking spot that appears to be on the property belongs to the house next door. The paperwork sent to us indicated that we could use a park and ride a mile or so from he property and shuttle in however that shuttle doesn't operate before Memorial Day weekend and you can't park there overnight. You CAN park on the street from 6 PM-10 AM nightly but during the day you can only park for a max of 4 hours. The parking is by zone not by individual parking spot and you have to enter your plate# into the app. It took us a day to kind of get the feel for it but then it was fine. The house it literally in the heart of the shops which was nice. Seafood, ice cream, coffee and pastries all within steps. Many shops and restaurants were closed Mon, Tues & Weds which was disappointing but that was on us for not looking into it. "

The bathrooms also have all new fixtures, with a tub/shower in the second floor full-bath. The large living/dining room features a 55" flat-screen TV, comfortable couch, an easy chair, a dining table with four chairs and air conditioning. There is also a small dedicated office space off of the living room with a desk & chair perfect for remote work. On the second floor, there are beautiful original wide-pine wood floors. There is a king bed in the Master Bedroom, along with a TV, ceiling fan, and air conditioning. Off the bedrooms, there is a large walk-in closet/laundry room with new front-loading washer & dryer. The second bedroom has a twin daybed, with a second twin trundle bed underneath which can be pulled out as needed (note the second bedroom does not have a separate air conditioning unit - we do provide a fan, and the mini-split a/c unit in the master bedroom will cool the entire second floor if the doors are left open). The backyard has a beautiful shady patio with a table and four chairs, and a gas grill. There is off-street parking in the driveway for 2 cars. The home is on a quaint side-street, right across the street from Millbrook Meadow, which has a playground for the little ones. It is also right around the corner from Front Beach, and an easy walk to the shops and restaurants of Bearskin Neck.

For the security of our guests and the safety of our home there is 1 operational security camera located on the outside of the house facing the driveway. The camera records both visually and audibly.

Everything is there, from the paper toweling to the shampoo/conditioner and body wash. It was squeaky clean. I could even see the vacuum tracks left on the back of the couch from its last clean. Great patio and location. The only thing I would suggest is that when you take a shower bring whatever toweling you require from the hall closet in with you before you take a shower. Located on a quiet side street in the seaside neighborhood of Rocky Neck, a peninsula that hangs out into Gloucester Harbor. The house is on a very private, and quiet street which ends at the water where there is a boat ramp (about 80 feet from the property). Here, you can launch your kayak, canoe, or paddle-board (nothing larger).

Rocky Neck is a fun, festive art colony with many active music-filled restaurants and art galleries. The Gloucester Stage Company is a 7 minute walk. There is a small beach around the corner for swimming, and Good Harbor Beach, one of the top beaches on the North Shore, is just 7 minutes away by car.

• There are a few antique furnishings and/or artwork in the house, some collected by "the captain", in her worldwide travels! Most of the artwork in the downstairs is by Rocky Neck Artists!

Miscellaneous
• Easily sleeps two but can accommodate 3-4 (family or good friends), with full-size sleep sofa.
• The whole unit has central AC, plus there’s a ceiling fan in the bedroom. The sea breezes from Gloucester Harbor often create a lovely freshness to the place, so you can turn off the AC and open the windows to let in the breeze!
• New Samsung Smart TV with multiple cable channels. Premium channels not included, but Netflix, Prime, etc. is easily accessed. Roku is available, please enquire.
• There is a two burner gas grill on the sun deck by the kitchen, and if you need something bigger, there is a four burner gas grill at the back of the building, Grilling tools are provided.
• There is a laundromat about a ½ mile away and cleaning supplies are provided in the townhouse, if needed.
• This is a safe and friendly area where people often don't even lock doors! But I prefer that you lock anyway. There is an outdoor key box.

It is a great getaway for a couple or single person to enjoy the summer in this lovely area. Gloucester and Cape Ann abound with many cultural and recreational activities. In Gloucester, enjoy whale watching, large sailboat cruises and many cultural activities and events from Saint Peter's Fiesta in late June to the Tall Ships Parade and Mayor's Cup Race over Labor Day. Nearby in Rockport you can browse around Bear Skin Neck, view incredible scenery including "Motif #1", explore Halibut Point State Park, attend a concert at the Rockport Music-Shalin Liu Performance Center or a dance performance at Windhover in Rockport. There are plenty things to do on Cape Ann!

A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY (if interested) and some tourist info--
Rockport has attracted visitors since 1606 when French explorer Samuel de Champlain landed on one of its shores what is now called Whale Cove.
Bear Skin Neck- the town center (2 miles away from the cottages). Legend has it that the small peninsula got its name after a bear was caught by the tide and killed in 1700. Along its small roads there are quaint stretches of old fishermen and lobster-men shacks that have gradually been turned into a tourist attraction of restaurants, shops and galleries.
Your breathtaking view of the Twin Lighthouses of Thatcher’s Island, named for Anthony Thatcher, an Englishman whose vessel, the Watch and Wait, was wrecked in a ferocious storm near the island in 1635 on its way to Marblehead from Ipswich, was once the first landfall of steamer ships from England heading for Boston and New York. Only he and his wife survived. The island is now a popular kayaking destination and has biweekly boat trips from the town port.

Looking out from your deck there is a small beach called Pony beach that is 5 minute walk. Lots of seaweed.

Pony beach- to the right from your deck. 5 minute walk. 3 kayaks available for your use.
Pebble beach -10 minute walk and there is a 'no beach sticker' parking area offered also. No sand sitting when high tide. But you can lie on the rocks.
Cape Hedge beach -20 minute walk and/or a 5 min drive with 'beach sticker' parking. No sand sitting when high tide but lots when low tide.. But you can lie on the rocks.
* Long Beach- half in Rockport and half in Gloucester- 5 minute drive-the whole parking lot is for guest beach stickers. Lots of sand both high and low tide. Best choice!

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

A lovely self-contained studio apartment in an antique colonial home (c.1760) 400 steps from the Ocean (Old Garden Beach). Recently renovated to include a touch of Tuscany (even a beautifully tiled walk-in shower), guests can enjoy the sunshine of a walled garden, while sipping their morning joe. Stroll down the hill to the delights of our beautiful seaport village (lobster anyone?), and make this quiet, air-conditioned flat, the perfect location for a short break or a summer long vacation.

We contacted the owners only to announce our arrival and departure, as we had a busy itinerary and knew our way around the area, and they responded quickly. It's a beautiful building and books some great touring acts. And make reservations for dinner at Feather and Wedge far in advance (we lucked into a no show table). Ideal for up to four people, this apartment is located on the first floor of a two-unit building. It has two bedrooms, one full bathroom, a living room and a kitchen with a dinning table. It has a nice fully fenced yard and two parking spaces in front of the house. It is fully furnished and includes all utilities, wi-fi and laundry. Located in a cute cul-de-sac from a quiet neighborhood, just 1/2 mile from the beach and 50 minute drive to Boston. There is a central heat system for the winter and window a/c units for the summer. The laundry is shared and is located in the basement. FYI there is another apartment upstairs and it is occupied by other tenants and there may be some ambient noise that travel through the walls and ceiling (both ways).

The Space:
Recently built, Long Beach Suites, is ready to welcome you this summer. With some views from decks of Long Beach, come stay in one of our two bedroom apartment suites. Expertly being built with summer visitors in mind.

This two bedroom suite has one king size bed, one queen size bed in an interior bedroom plus there is a pull out queen sofa in the living room.

Full bathroom with tub/shower combo.

Full kitchen with kitchen island, induction flat top, and dishwasher. The kitchen is stocked with all the cooking/serving necessities including: cookware, pots, pans, plates, cups, and silverware. Four to six guests can eat at the dining table, four can eat at the kitchen counter.

Depending on your suite you will have a private deck or patio for you to enjoy.

Other things to get excited about:
-The two bedrooms and main living room each have TVs with streaming capabilities, no cable.
-Vinyl floors throughout
-In suite washer/dryer
-Parking for up one car only
-Brand new top of the line energy efficient split heat/ac in the primary bedroom and living rooms, interior bedroom may get warm.
-For protection, there are cameras throughout the common areas. Such security cameras are capable of recording video and audio and may have such features activated during your stay. Occupants shall not remove, alter, or otherwise utilize the cameras.

Guest Access:
Everything you need for a great stay, toiletries, linens, towels, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, washing machines, detergent, and more!

Other Things to Note:
We are delighted to host you for your upcoming stay! We have expertly prepared and furnished each guest suite with lots of love and attention.

While you are staying with us:
-No parties.
-Please be mindful of our neighbors by keeping noise to a normal level, reducing noise after 8:30pm, and not lingering in front of the entrance.
-We ask that guests be off any exterior spaces by 10PM on the weekdays and 11PM on the weekends. This is not a curfew so you can come and go as you please past these times but you cannot hang out on exterior spaces past the posted times.
-Smoking is strictly prohibited both inside and outside within 50ft or near a window.
-No pets, even for a short visit.
-No refunds to be given for shortened stays and for any cable, internet, WI-FI, heating, cooling, or power outages or other acts of nature.

No sweat on accidental & reported damage! Your rental includes an accidental reported damage waiver fee up to a maximum of $800. The cost to repair any accidental and reported damage to the rented property including any missing or broken items up to a maximum of $800 will be covered at no charge to you as long the damage is reported to your Host before you depart.

Pull up to this cozy Cape and park in your private off-street parking space. Step inside and be greeted by a great living room space, open concept with the dining room. The living room is complete with a Smart TV and seating for the whole family. Make your way into the full kitchen, with all the amenities and appliances you need for a home cooked meal. A dining room with a large table with space for 8 is located off of the kitchen. You can find 3 bedrooms on this level along with a freshly renovated full bathroom. The first bedroom has a king sized bed and a large closet with lots of storage space. The second bedroom has a queen sized bed with a cute hanging swing, and a closet for storage. The final bedroom on this floor has a full sized bunk bed, with a dresser for storage, perfect for any additional guests.

Make your way down to the lower level of the home where you will find a great additional living space. Down here you can also find an additional bedroom with a full sized bed, and a second full bathroom. This bedroom has a dedicated workspace and lots of closet storage. The family room has ample seating and an additional TV. You can also find a small bistro table with seating for four, a spot for a quick meal.

In the backyard you will find a gas grill and two outdoor dining tables- an awesome spot for a summer meal by the ocean. A fire pit is also available in this backyard for guest use.
