Welcome to the Hens Haven! this classic bungalow located in SoBro does a perfect job of blending the old charm and character of an old house (yes, I have squeaky old hardwood floors, but it's worth it, I promise) with all of the modern day comforts to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. You can enjoy your morning coffee on the lovely front porch, or a glass of wine in the evening in the backyard with the fun and entertaining chickens. My home has been comfortably furnished with mostly "reclaimed" or hand-me-down furniture and handmade pieces, as well as fresh paint throughout, giving it a clean, simple, and relaxing feel.

My goal is to provide you with all of the comforts of home while you are traveling to help make your stay in Indianapolis grand. You will enjoy the large kitchen to prepare a quick lunch or a delicious dinner. There is a separate dining room with plenty of space for all of your guests, but you might also prefer to dine on the back patio and enjoy the yard when the weather is nice. There are two lovely bedrooms that are adorned with handmade headboards from reclaimed wood and re-purposed furniture painted with environmentally friendly chalk paint. Common living areas include the bright and cheery living room with a relaxed feel and slip covered couches, and the finished daylight basement stocked with games. There are 2 full bathrooms (one with tub shower) with all of the basic necessities provided for you. I also provide a pack n play and high chair for the convenience of those traveling with little ones. WiFi is provided so you can keep up with the day to day requirements of work.

- Please note that even though we soundproofed the unit as much as possible, there may be some sound leaking from above due to the fact that it is a basement unit.
- Please throw out your trash bags behind in the bins behind the garage if you have a longer stay or a larger group. If the trash is left full for several days inside the house, bugs can become a problem.

- There is usually plenty of street parking, but please be careful and do not block any of the neighbors driveways - cars that are blocking driveways may get towed.

- Providing a clean home to guests on a repeated basis is critical to ensuring people can enjoy their vacations, as such please see below:
- No smoking. A $500 fee will be imposed if there is smoking of any kind inside the premises.
- If bodily fluids are left on the premises, a $200 biohazard cleaning fee will be imposed, along with the cost of any damaged materials.
- There will be stain removal spray in the home. If large and noticeable stains are left on rugs or couches and cannot be removed upon checkout, an upholstery cleaning fee of $120 will be imposed.

- "I was able to have a pleasant weekend" - "I travel to Indy for business at least once every couple of weeks for a few days. I’ve stayed in several studio and one-bed apartments in town, all managed by property management services. My usual place in Broad Ripple was booked, but this studio looked adorable online so I gave it a shot. Since I’m limited on characters, here were my issues:1) Code didn’t work for key dispenser. It took two phone calls and a trip to the apartment with the wrong key to get another code to get in.2) Parking spot directions were nowhere near correct—I drove the whole garage looking for the right numbered spot.3) The unit reeked so bad of marijuana, I almost left.4) The cabinet door to the bathroom vanity was broken.5) Shower was discolored and mildew was growing in the corners6) Closet shelves were filthy—I had to wipe down before putting my clothes on them7) There was a load of towels and sheets in the dryer, which I can only assume was the towels/sheets of the previous guest. I folded them so I could do my own laundry. 8) Tried to air out the marijuana smell—sleeping area window broken. 9) Key dispenser wouldn’t take my code twice before it finally took it a third time to turn in my key.I’m not a Karen, I swear. I do these stays regularly. This one was not positive. I was just happy to leave. "

Upon arrival my entry code opened unit D to find someone staying in the unit. He proceed to guide to the unit C and used a code he was given to open unit C for us. This made me feel unsafe and worried about my belongings. Didnt turn out to be an issues but still a concern. Unit was clean and had plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 kids. Internet did not work at all. Couldnt connect the TV nor could we connect our phones. Alot of small things missing that you would expect to be in a VRBO such as forks (2 total) in a unit fit to sleep 5. No salt/pepper.. Etc. These might seem small but ive never not had the basics in vrbo ive rented for a weekend. Overall it didnt mean my expectations of a VRBO. Ive had great experiences in the past and this didnt check all the boxs. The apartment is updated cheaply with subpar work. Lots of little things broken and/or not working properly. The best part was the cleanliness. No issues there."

We provide many amenities for your stay - a Jura coffee and espresso machine, access to a washer and dryer, bedroom and bathroom linens, extra pillows, hangers, hygiene products and fiber wifi.

Our family purchased this historic property in 2017, and spent the following year renovating the main house, gardens, garage and carriage house.

Our home was built in 1925, and the carriage house was the apartment for the family's chauffeur, who was also responsible for keeping the coal-burning furnace fired. We renovated the carriage house into a light-filled, modern space and kept as many original details as possible. The original blueprints for the garage are hanging just outside the carriage house door.

We love sharing this space and our beautiful neighborhood with people visiting our city!

This apartment is on the ground floor, and I live underneath it and there are tenants above. The 140 year old building has its original wood floors and you may hear the tenants upstairs from time to time. This Broadripple bungalow does a perfect job of blending the old charm and character of an old house with all of the modern day comforts to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Enjoy your morning coffee on the lovely front porch, or a glass of wine in the evening in the quaint backyard. This space has been comfortably furnished with reclaimed furniture and handmade pieces, as well as fresh paint throughout giving it a clean, simple, and relaxing feel. Welcome home!

The space
This charming bungalow will provide you with all of the comforts of home while you are traveling to help make your stay in Indianapolis grand. Enjoy a large kitchen to prepare a quick lunch or a delicious dinner. There is a separate dining room with plenty of space for all of your guests, but you might also prefer to dine on the back patio and enjoy the yard when the weather is nice. Two lovely bedrooms await you adorned with handmade headboards from reclaimed wood and re-purposed furniture painted with environmentally friendly chalk paint. Common living areas include the bright and cheery living room with a relaxed feel and slip covered couches, or the finished daylight basement stocked with games. There are 2 full bathrooms (one with tub shower) with all of the basic necessities provided for you. I also provide a pack n play and high chair for the convenience of those traveling with little ones. WiFi is provided so you can keep up with the day to day requirements of work.

Enjoy a stylish experience at this centrally-located home. Located in the beautiful Meridian Kessler neighborhood, walking distance from many local bars and eateries. The monon rail trail is minutes away for all of your outdoor walking and biking activities. Downtown Broad Ripple and downtown Indianapolis are both minutes away. Butler University is walking distance as well as Marian University and IUPUI being close by. We are less than 15 minutes from St.Vincent and Methodist hospitals.❤️

The space
This contemporary, yet cozy and elegant looking bungalow is located just blocks south of the heart of Broad ripple! It’s also conveniently located 17 minutes away from the liveliness of downtown, Massachusetts Avenue, Lucas Oil Stadium, and the Indianapolis Convention Center. The Indianapolis airport is roughly 22 minutes away, depending on traffic.

This house is a wonderful place for families coming to town, individuals here for business or conventions, or just people wanting to have a place to visit fiends or host a get-together! It has unique touches in every room and a very warm feeling throughout.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire house and the backyard! The only area in the backyard that is shared with the neighbor is the basketball court. But if you plan on having a little get together in the backyard, let me know and I can tell our neighbors so you’ll have full access to the court!

Other things to note
The pet fee shown is only for one pet for two nights. After that the pet fee increases for the amount of pets and how many nights you are staying! Just so you know!

The house is located on a main street so there could be the occasional noises during rush hour from cars driving by from time to time but it's rarely that loud.
