- "We stayed in this home over the massive June heatwave of 2021. The cabin is absolutely adorable - very rustic (though kitchen and bathrooms are updated). There is AC in the downstairs, which was a life saver during the heat of the day. The BEST part about this property is the outdoor area. The back deck has a beautiful view of the lazy river below. A short walk down the back of the property leads you to a fantastic fire-pit with a river view for s'mores. A little further down the pathway is your own private river spot!! A great, very safe spot for wading around (if you can handle the icy water). We spent entire days lazing by the river while the kids played. We did have a serous problem with the well pump stopping completely one day (like ZERO water in the toilets or sinks). Vacasa was very responsive to the problem, and after a 10pm call the night before, the water was restored by 11am the next day. Inconvenient, but it's a rustic cabin, and these things are to be expected (if you don't like rustic, you won't like this cabin). Overall, a 4-star house with a 5+++star river property!"

The Camp Creek Lodge is located in the heart of the alpine village at the base of the Glade Trail. It was constructed in 1938. The cabin features a knotty pine interior and a majestic stone fireplace.

The main level contains the entry foyer, living room / dining area, kitchen, utility room, a full-bathroom, a half-bathroom, and the main entry foyer. The upstairs contains two bedrooms, and a sleeping area at the top of the stairs. Each upstairs bedroom has air-conditioning during summer for better warm weather sleeping. There have been multiple improvements throughout the years to make the cabin more comfortable, convenient, and safe without sacrificing the work done by the skilled craftsman of the 1930's.

The roads to the cabin and parking at the cabin are plowed during winter. There is parking for two cars on site with nearby public parking available for additional vehicles.

The cabin has plenty of yard area for children to play and just up the road at the dead end is a great winter play area with a hill ideal for inner-tubing. Access to the trails along the north side of Government Camp are accessed through this area and lead to a large network of hiking/cross country skiing/snowshoeing trails. Trails to south side of the village can be access by walking over the Multorpor bridge. These trails give easy access all the way to Trillium Lake and beyond.

Village shops and restaurants are only a two minute walk away, ideal for be able to leave the car at the cabin when doing culinary and retail exploring.

The cabin is stocked with board games and videos. The Govy General Store (200' away) rents DVD's and sells items to make your trip even more enjoyable.

While at the cabin don't forget to check out the Mt. Hood Museum and Cultural Center.

This cabin is vintage 1938 (Timberline Lodge era) with a 1974 addition, this means it’s full of quirks and character and that’s why we adore it so much. If you are more comfortable in a sleek modern cabin, we gently suggest this cabin might not be the best fit for your getaway.

IMPORTANT - Shortly after booking our cabin we will request payment for County Room Tax which VRBO is currently unable to capture at booking. These taxes are 6.35% of the amount you pay to VRBO. This situation is unwelcome for everyone, so we hope VRBO will update their software soon! All owners using VRBO for lodging on Mt. Hood are in the same situation. They used to collect this tax but tell us now their software is unable to do it. VRBO has told me they are working on a solution.

The Doig Cabin at Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp is located just five minutes south of Government Camp in the stunning Mt. Hood National Forest! Your rental will not only deliver an unforgettable stay, it will support a great cause!

Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp is a non-profit organization that empowers children and adults with disabilities through equitable access to the outdoors and recreation. Our 22-acre campsite hosts 500 campers each summer, multiple winter retreats and a Family Camp. On any given day, our campers are catching fish, conquering their fear on the adventure course, whitewater rafting, canoeing on Trillium Lake, and dancing the night away at campfire. Camp doesn’t only offer outdoor activities, it offers the chance for people with disabilities to make new friends and build a community in a non-judgmental environment.

MHKC relies on generous contributions from donors, and renting out our facilities during the off-season (September-May) to be able to provide an affordable experience for all campers.

Our Doig Cabin, built in 2013, is perfect for a family vacation or a secluded getaway. September and October feature beautiful sun, changing seasons, and warm weather, while winter offers access to skiing and snowshoeing. Camp is located near multiple day hikes that leads to Little Zig Zag Falls, Paradise Park Trail, and the Timberline Trail. We have an adventure course on site that could be utilized as well for an additional cost. When the weather begins to turn, the magic of the mountain really shines. We are located five minutes away from Mt. Hood Ski-Bowl and ten minutes away from the chair lifts at Timberline Lodge.

Our cabin provides privacy while still remaining very close to Timberline. The cabin can sleep five people and has a fully functional kitchenette. Your stay here helps ensure that we provide an affordable and truly life changing experience that empowers our campers to live their lives without limits.

Please note that parking is approximately 300 yards from the cabin. A cart or sled (depending on the time of the year) will be provided next to the parking area to take your belongings to the cabin.

The Half Pint Lodge is a small studio cabin in the heart of the village. It is within walking distance to all the local restaurants and businesses. It is complete with a wood burning woodstove placed in a stone fireplace, perfect for cozy winter stays.

The roads to the cabin and parking at the cabin are plowed during winter. There is parking for one car on site.

Access to the trails along the north side of Government Camp are accessed at the upper end of Blossom Trail road and lead to a large network of hiking/cross country skiing/snowshoeing trails. Trails to south side of the village can be access by walking over the Multorpor bridge. These trails give easy access all the way to Trillium Lake and beyond.

Village shops and restaurants are only a two minute walk away, ideal for be able to leave the car at the cabin when doing culinary and retail exploring.

The cabin is stocked with board games and videos. The Govy General Store (200' away) rents DVD's and sells items to make your trip even more enjoyable.

While at the cabin don't forget to check out the Mt. Hood Museum and Cultural Center.

IMPORTANT - Shortly after booking our cabin we will request payment for County Room Tax which VRBO is currently unable to capture at booking. These taxes are 6.85% of the amount you pay to VRBO. This situation is unwelcome for everyone, so we hope VRBO will update their software soon! All owners using VRBO for lodging on Mt. Hood are in the same situation. They used to collect this tax but tell us now their software is unable to do it. VRBO has told me they are working on a solution.

Location: We’re located on Lolo Pass, a well-traveled mountain road. It’s peacefully quiet overnight, but there is traffic during the day.

No Smoking: For everyone’s comfort, our cabin is smoke-free. If additional cleaning is required to remove smoke odors, an extra fee may apply.

Furry Friends Welcome: We’re happy to host well-behaved dogs! Keep in mind our neighbors are nearby, and the road can be busy. There are also cougar, coyote, and bear on the mountain, so keep an eye on your pups.

Septic System Care: We run on a septic system, so only toilet paper should be flushed. Thank you for helping us maintain it!

Our mountain escape is tucked away out of sight and perched in the trees. A seasonal stream meanders through the property. Our outdoor space features a hot tub, bonfire pit (Solo Stove), picnic table, lounge seating, and a charcoal grill. Inside there are 2 bedrooms, a wood-burning stove, a lofted space with a TV, games, puzzles galore, and a cozy sherpa couch. We have a desk for remote work and A+ WIFI. The Sandy River and miles of trails are mere steps from your door. We do have neighbors!
The space
Curly Creek Cabin was built in 1978 and is named for the sweet sounds of our three curly children playing in the creek behind the house. While we have added modern touches throughout, Curly Creek is an absolutely pristine retro masterpiece and we let it's quirky aesthetic details shine in all of their glory! The interior of the cabin boasts amazing custom woodwork, intricate tiling, original hardwood floors, a wood-burning stove, and a mint condition 1970's JENN-AIR oven & cooktop.

One of our favorite aspects of Curly Creek is not only being within 15 minutes of skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and fly fishing, but you could spend an entire weekend just enjoying the home and neighborhood on foot. Our small, quiet community has miles of trails to explore and direct access to the Sandy River with multiple private beach areas. Pack a picnic and spend the day on the beach, without any of the crowds.

COVID-19, Wildfire, weather, and other seasonal restrictions:

National Park trails, ski areas, restaurants, and other businesses or recreational activities may be closed or have limited opening during your visit. Check with the ZigZag Rangers Station and local ski operators websites for the latest information. The HOA swimming pool may also be closed during your visit. During the wildfire season - local laws prohibit the use of fire pits and barbecues - we will keep you informed if these affect you. For local weather, travel, and live webcams checkout MtHood.info. FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions

Will there be snow?

The house sits at about 1600 FT elevation. Typically we see light snow in January and February. Head 10 minutes up the mountain, and there you will find your serious pow! Make sure to pack chains if you plan on driving up that way come winter. We're 15-20 minutes from Government Camp & Timberline.

Is there wood for the bonfire pit and indoor wood stove?

We usually have a pretty good stockpile of wood in and around the house. But, in case it's been depleted, it's a good idea to bring some with you or you can buy it locally roadside or pick some up at Thriftway or any fuel station.

Is there charcoal for the grill?

We have a simple Weber charcoal grill. We don't routinely stock charcoal, but if there is some leftover, it's all yours!

Is there an extra charge for dogs?

Nope. You are welcome to bring along up to 2 of your well-behaved, quiet, friendly, furry sweethearts. Please do not allow them up on the furniture or in the beds. To make sure they are cozy too, we have provided an array of supplies! We have a dedicated dog blanket and dog bed, a few bones, treats, a food and water bowl, and an extra leash just in case! When walking around outside, please always have your dog leashed.

How is the WIFI? Is it enough to Zoom calls, remote learning, and watching Netflix?

The WIFI is A+. Quite frankly, we've been so ready to get out of our home in Portland, that we made sure that it was lightening fast so we could do it all. We have a 500MB upload speed. We regularly use it for remote working, online schooling, movies, and gaming.

Centrally located in Government Camp, the basecamp for skiers and snowboarders year-round. There is a view of the main street and you can walk to everything, including a great hike up the mountain! This cozy room, is above the very popular, centrally located, Glacier House Restaurant. This is our first guest room above the restaurant, I hope you enjoy it!

The space
Bathroom has a shower with great water pressure. Clean towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are provided.

You will have a key code for the entrance to the upstairs and a key will be inside the hallway for your room.

Other things to note
There are three apartments upstairs, including the guest room. These apartments have pets (one cat, two dogs). There is no excessive barking (maybe a bark when they hear someone coming upstairs). You can expect no animals in the hallway to greet you, you should not have to interact with them at all.

In the winter the restaurant is open Thursday - Sunday from 11:30 am to approximately 8:30 pm. We do play music, but not super loud.

During the summer, we are open every day.

For breakfast, we couldn't recommend the Huckleberry Inn (next door) highly enough. Their breakfasts are delicious but their giant donuts are out of this world!

This is a fairly large chalet. It can easily handle our family (Nick, Natasha, Nina and our labradoodle “Dekki”), plus up to 2 guests per room in the other rooms. It is a 3 story building — 2100 sqft. The doors squeak and the floors creak a little, lending to an authentic vintage chalet experience!

You have access to: your private room and also the kitchen, living room, dining room, entry/snow shake-off area, laundry area, indoor hot tub, 2 bathrooms, common deck out back, deck off kitchen with gas grill, and office room. In summer, the garden/yard is available and we can set up hammocks, table and chairs, fire pit (when burning allowed). There is a tree house, horseshoes, creek, pond, terrace, and faux “dock”, which is big enough for your picnic. Animals abound here in summer and share our environment. We have deer, bears, rabbits, birds, insects, and friendly garter snakes. In winter everyone just plays in the snow — you can dig a snow cave, make snow angels, snowshoe around or just have a good ole snowball fight!

Guests can socialize or maintain privacy to their liking. Shared spaces are welcoming, and all are expected to behave courteously and treat others with respect

Our wonderful guest house is a cozy studio with a queen bed, kitchen, sofa, and dining table in one large room. There is a bathroom with shower. This is a second floor apartment over the detached garage, we live in the main house next door. The property is very secluded well off the road with no other houses nearby and borders the National Forest. Enjoy the spring fed pond in the front yard, a hike along the Sandy river, or a 15 min drive to ski resorts.

The space
The Bear's Den is delightfully designed as a romantic couples paradise. It is a tasteful combination between modern and treehouse cabin in the woods. It has all the amenities most people will need whether you are cooking for yourself in the fully appointed kitchen or go out to eat at the many nearby excellent restaurants.

We cater to couples and generally don't allow children. We have breakable decorations, a high balcony with stairs, and a natural pond without any safety fencing. We are open to infants who are not crawling yet or responsible pre-teens. If you are traveling with children, please ask before booking.

The property is directly adjacent to the National Forest, the Sandy river is a short 5 min walk with incredible views of Mt Hood. There is also a spring fed creek directly on the property that runs through the front yard where it forms a wonderful clean water pond. If you fish for trout in the pond, we ask that you practice catch and release. You are welcome to use the gas BBQ on the patio during BBQ weather if you clean up after yourself.

Local attractions are endless but include excellent hikes such as Ramona Falls or a 15 minute drive to the ski resorts.

Other things to note
Because the Bear's Den is in a separate building from the main house, there is no contact with the hosts and it has it's own heating and cooling system.

During the winter season, road conditions are often icy or snow covered. The main road to the house is well plowed and maintained by the county. The long driveway is plowed by the host, but traction devices or 4 wheel drive will make it easier during the winter.

Because this is a remote location, cell phone service is very poor. There is limited service if you have a Verizon phone, other providers have NO service. Cell service is generally available just 3 miles down the road where most of the restaurants are located. Please plan accordingly.

We have excellent wifi internet built on a 1Gig fiber connection. You should have excellent speed so you can stream to your hearts content.

Bringing your own dogs:
We love dogs and we are happy to host you with your furry family members. We only ask that you help us out with a few simple things.
• Please let us know that you will be bringing dogs when you book. We also have dogs and would like to know when other dogs are going to be around.
• If your dogs are likely to be aggressive, not house trained, destructive, etc, please find other accommodations for them. Give us an honest description of your dogs before you book and describe their typical behavior so we can decide if it’s ok to bring them.
• We ask that you clean up after them, inside and out. If they “do their business” in the yard, please clean up after them. If they take care of it out in the woods and it’s not on a trail, don’t worry about it.
• Our property is pretty remote and there are not neighbors close enough to worry about. So feel free to allow your dogs to run off leash if you trust them to obey you. Keep in mind there are no fences and thousands of acres of National Forest for them to get lost in. There may also be wild creatures for them to chase or be chased by. Use your best judgement.
• Finally, if they cause damage to the room or property, we expect you to reimburse us for reasonable expenses to correct the problem. To avoid that, don’t leave them unattended in the room. If you really must leave them behind, use a kennel.

We really want to provide a clean and dog friendly place. We think of our dogs like our children and we assume you do as well. Following these simple rules will allow us to continue offering the Bear’s Den to guests with or without furry children.

We do not allow cats. Sorry about that to our cat loving guests. Some people are allergic and cat smells are much harder to clean up than dogs.

Please note that Clackamas County now has a 6% occupancy tax that applies to Airbnb rentals. The state of Oregon also charges a 1.8% occupancy tax. Airbnb will collect the state tax but is not set to collect the county tax. Therefore, a portion of your daily rate has the county tax baked in. We do not charge extra for it.

Welcome to my Mt Hood Townhouse.

3 bedroom townhouse in Collins Lake Resort, with shared heated pool and 2 hottubs. Just a 5 minute walk to the heart of Government Camp. Heated tandem garage on entry level. Kitchen, dining room, living room with gas fireplace, and half bath on 1st level. Master bedroom with queen bed and full bath, 2nd bedroom with queen bed, 3rd bedroom with bunk beds, and shared full bath. WiFi, cable TV, BBQ, well-equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, snowshoes, and sleds.

The space
Covid Update: The heated pool and two hot-tubs are open again! The hottubs are limited to one household at a time. Masks should be worn when not in the pool or hottubs. All cleaning is done by my roommate or myself, rather than a cleaning crew. Between guests, we run the furnace in fan-mode with a MERV 12 air filter that is changed every two months. We also run a portable air purifier with HEPA/charcoal/UV filtration.

Just a 5 minute walk to the heart of Government Camp! Although only an hour from Portland, its 4000 feet elevation makes it seem a world away: a gateway to all that Mt. Hood has to offer! In winter, downhill skiing, sledding, tubing, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, or just sitting by the fire in a winter-wonderland. In summer, right by Timberline, the only place in the US with summer time skiing. August and September are great hiking months: less bugs and smaller streams to ford. Make Government Camp your base camp for the Timberline trail, or a portion of the Pacific Coast trail. Or try out some of the many day hikes, such as Mirror Lake and the peak of Tom, Dick and Harry, whose trail-head is just a mile down Highway 26.

Of course, what is a vacation without relaxing in a hottub! Collins Lake Resort features the Creekside Lodge with free wi-fi, sauna, pool (88F), hot-tub (105F), and the leisure pool set in the woods (101F). I cannot image a stay here without a good soak. There are also trails through the 28 acres, including a hike around Collins Lake, which is really more of a pond.

The townhouse is an end-unit, with extra windows to let the sunshine in. It is on 3 levels, with two sets of steps from the entry level (garage) to the bedrooms. Keep this in mind if you have mobility issues. The entry level has a 2 car tandem garage and laundry (wash/dryer with laundry detergent provided). First floor has the kitchen, dining area, living room, a halfbath, and a balcony with a BBQ. Second floor has the master bedroom with a queen-sized bed and private bathroom and 2nd bedroom with a queen-sized bed and views of Mt. Hood. Since this is an end-unit, it has a 3rd enclosed room with a window, that has a twin-size bunk-bed. There is also a second full bathroom on the 2nd floor.

Some might call this a chef's kitchen. We certainly make sure that the kitchen is well stocked,. It has a gas stove, full-size fridge with ice-maker, microwave, and dishwasher. There's also a toaster, a blender, a coffee grinder, and a great selection of pots and pans. We also stock common spices, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper, creamer, tea and coffee.

The balcony and master bedroom face SkiBowl. They also overlook highway 26, but with the door/window closed, you can barely hear the cars.

The unit comfortably sleeps 4 adults and 2 children, in the 2 queen and 2 twin beds. There is a sofa bed in the living room that can sleep two additional guests. If there are more than 6 guests, there is a $10 per person per night surcharge.

We also stock 2 pairs of snowshoes, and several children's sleds. There is a flat screen TV, DVD player, WiFi, cable TV, HBO, Netflix, a selection of movies and books.

No pets are allowed. Smoking is not allowed in the unit. No parties.

The Mt. Hood Express bus goes from Sandy to Timberline Lodge, with stops in between, including at Collins Lake.

Enjoy our one bedroom fully updated cabin bordering the National Forest on 5 acres. The property offers a beautiful spring fed creek and pond with natural trout. We are 15 minutes by car to Skibowl and a 5 minute walk on a beautiful forest trail to the Sandy River. The hosts live full time in the main house and there is a second cabin (The Bears Den) that you can also book if you have two groups. The main floor has a full kitchen, dining, and living room. Upstairs is a bedroom and the bathroom.

The space
Rocky's Retreat is a fully updated cedar cabin built in 1974. It's a perfect romantic couples paradise designed with a tasteful combination of modern and cabin in the woods. It has all the amenities you will will need whether you are cooking for yourself in the fully appointed kitchen or going out to eat at the many nearby excellent restaurants.

The cabin was originally an art studio boasting beautiful pottery creations by David Enna. We often purchase his works when we find them so we can return them to their place of birth. Many of his creations are proudly displayed in the cabin.

The interior walls in the main living area are milled from a single cedar tree from the property. Our neighbor milled the boards for us and we aged them for three years as we slowly worked on the cabin. It's a stunning finish providing depth you can never get from box store paneling.

The pond in the front yard is fed by a year round crystal clear spring creek. The water fills the pond and flows over a small waterfall in the front yard on its way to the Sandy River.

We cater to couples and generally don't allow children. We have breakable decorations and a natural pond without any safety fencing. If you fish for trout in the pond, we ask that you practice catch and release. You are welcome to use the gas BBQ on the patio during BBQ weather if you clean up after yourself.

Local attractions are endless but include excellent hikes such as Ramona Falls or a 15 minute drive to the ski resorts.

Other things to note
During the winter season, road conditions are often icy or snow covered. The main road to the house is well plowed and maintained by the county. The long driveway is plowed by the host, but traction devices or 4 wheel drive will make it easier during the winter.

Because this is a remote location, cell phone service is very poor. There is limited service if you have a Verizon phone, other providers may have no service. Cell service is generally available just a couple miles down the road where most of the restaurants are located. Please plan accordingly.

We have excellent wifi internet built on a 1Gig fiber connection. You should have excellent speed and reliability so you can stream to your hearts content.

Bringing your own dogs:
We love dogs and we are happy to host you with your furry family members. We only ask that you help us out with a few simple things.
• Please let us know that you will be bringing dogs when you book. We also have dogs and would like to know when other dogs are going to be around.
• If your dogs are likely to be aggressive, not house trained, destructive, etc, please find other accommodations for them. Give us an honest description of your dogs before you book and describe their typical behavior so we can decide if it’s ok to bring them.
• We ask that you clean up after them, inside and out. If they “do their business” in the yard, please clean up after them. If they take care of it out in the woods and it’s not on a trail, don’t worry about it.
• Our property is pretty remote and there are not neighbors close enough to worry about. So feel free to allow your dogs to run off leash if you trust them to obey you. Keep in mind there are no fences and thousands of acres of National Forest for them to get lost in. There may also be wild creatures for them to chase or be chased by. Use your best judgement.
• Finally, if they cause damage to the room or property, we expect you to reimburse us for reasonable expenses to correct the problem. To avoid that, don’t leave them unattended in the room. If you really must leave them behind, use a kennel.

We really want to provide a clean and dog friendly place. We think of our dogs like our children and we assume you do as well. Following these simple rules will allow us to continue offering the Bear’s Den to guests with or without furry children.

We do not allow cats. Sorry about that to our cat loving guests. Some people are allergic and cat smells are much harder to clean up than dogs.

Please note that Clackamas County now has a 6% occupancy tax that applies to Airbnb rentals. The state of Oregon also charges a 1.8% occupancy tax. Airbnb will collect the state tax but is not set to collect the county tax. Therefore, a portion of your daily rate has the county tax baked in. We do not charge extra for it.

Relax and unwind in our custom built, one-of-kind cabin. The cabin is nestled up on a forested hill above our main cabin. It's sits on 4 acres of private wooded land, bordering Mt. Hood National Forest Land. A perfect getaway for couples looking to spend a romantic weekend in the woods or a home-base for those who are here to enjoy everything Mt. Hood has to offer. Hiking, fishing, skiing are only minutes away!

The space
Carefully curated and thoughtfully designed, this little cabin is decorated with art and furniture from local artisans. The cabin has an open floor plan with an extra cozy sleeping loft equipped with a queen sized bed, comfy reading chair and a Roku TV with Netflix and streaming channels. The living room has a comfortable plush sofa and perfect views while lounging by the wood-burning stove. The kitchenette offers you everything you need to dine-in — an electric range, toaster, and coffee maker. The outside space features a large outdoor fire pit with beautiful views of the forest and ZigZag mountain.

For groups with three guests -- additional linens, pillows and blankets will be provided upon request for the sofa (not a pull-out, but comfy to sleep on -- great option for those traveling with children. We also have a twin size air mattress available upon request). Also, in the summer months, there is plenty of room to pitch a tent outdoors.

Other things to note
***Please note -- The drive up from the road to the cabin is steep. You WILL need an AWD or 4WD to get to the top in a vehicle (we have a AWD VW Tiguan and make it up fine). If you have a 2WD car, there will be a cargo sled to haul your belongings up the hill. It's approximately 200 ft. from the road.

**We will provide wood for one night. Additional wood can be purchased at the Thriftway or Mt. Hood Grocery, both are one mile down the road.

*There is a steep loft ladder that leads to the bedroom. Not recommended for those who have trouble climbing.
