Come relax at our 4 bedroom, 1.5 bath townhouse on King Street within walking distance to several restaurants and stores. You'll find a fully equipped kitchen & washer/dryer unit on the main floor. Relax on the back patio with the propane fire pit or in one of the four beautiful bedrooms in this 3-story townhome.

Our home has 4 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. We are pet friendly and kid friendly with amenities to make your life easier! Bed linens and towels come with the unit and there is laundry on site in case you need to wash something while you are visiting. This townhouse is private, 3 full floors for you and your family or friends.

The main floor of the townhouse comes with a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, oven/stove & microwave. There is a Keurig, as well as a regular coffee pot, cookware and basic kitchen utensils. The downstairs 1/2 bath located off the kitchen has a stand up washer dryer unit, a toilet and sink. The dining room which is located just off the kitchen seats 6-8 people comfortably around the large farmhouse table with additional pull out leaves if needed. The living room at the front of the townhouse has a L-shaped couch and TV for comfy nights and extra lounging space.

On the second floor you will find 3 bedrooms and a full bathroom. The back bedroom has a queen sized bed and a dresser. The middle bedroom has a double (full) sized bed and dresser. The front bedroom has a king sized bed and dresser as well as small seating area by the window. Each bedroom has a TV and closet space. The bathroom has a regular sized bathtub and shower setup, a toilet and a sink.

On the third floor you will find a large seating area with TV and couch, and a separate bedroom with a queen size bed and dresser.

The backyard is fully fenced with a 6ft privacy fence and 6-unit parking space at the rear of the fenced yard. There is a patio with outdoor furniture and a propane firepit. You will also find a small sitting space on both the front and side porch area of the townhouse. Each porch is railed and semi-private.

- "We recently spent a week at Shade Mountain Retreat with our family of 16. It's a wonderful property for a multi-generational vacation. Hiking trails and a firepit were available for our active members. A pool table was well used by all 3 generations present. The large property gave us space for many activities. There are extra activities available in the area. Our only concern was a lack of cell phone coverage (not Jake's fault)" - "This beautiful, clean property, situated in a lush green forest, was the perfect choice for our large extended family gathering in May. We were 14 guests of many ages, but there was always a possibility we might have had more, and it was nice to know we had room to sleep 20 just in case. Our elderly folks were quite comfortable among the 4 queen bedrooms on the main floor, without ever using stairs, to their delight. The kids were quite happy to be together in bedrooms on the lower floor, near the pool table (The site of a secret midnight pool tournament... rumor has it.) There are many different family rooms sprinkled around the 2 buildings, providing the various age groups to gather independently. Other indoor activities are available, and the very large ping pong game room above the garage was perfect for our rainy day. A VERY long dining table was key for seating 12 of us with even a few more at the counter, and the two extra refrigerators in the garage meant that our many meals over 5 days were possible without any food runs. Relatives all got a chance to reconnect while seated together. The large BBQ got used every night, and can officially fit 16 large steaks. Hiking trails (hilly) provided a bit of exercise and bird-spotting, while the fire pit was a big hit in the chilly evening. (Thanks to our awesome host for providing firewood!) Our host, Jake, was very responsive, before and throughout the rental process. We could not have asked for a better experience."

What a great location!!! The campground was a perfect mix of enjoying the outdoors but still having a full kitchen and hot showers available. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, the buildings were clean, and the cabins were adorable. They look small from the outside but are actually pretty roomy and very clean. The whole property was fun to hike around, and it was a nice neighborhood. We stopped by the winery down the street for wine slushies and the grocery store was super close when we needed a couple extra items. We had 18 women, and it was plenty of space and easy to cook and serve for that number. We would definitely stay again!"

The barndominium apartment is the second story of a cute country store named ‘The Pantry Barn’. It’s the only store in little quaint Bloserville and was the residence of the shop owner and his family when the store was originally built in the mid 1900’s. There is a second 2 bedroom vacation rental unit that’s sleeps 4 people, so both can be rented together for a total of 14 people maximum. It has all been made brand new August 2021.

The Pantry Barn is the only store in Bloserville and it is a quaint little market that you are sure to get a couple meals from during your stay. We are so small we have the Newville zip code. Store is opening Summer 2022. We are the owners and live in a farm quarter mile down the same road and are very available shall you need anything during your stay.

This cottage has lots of charm and it offers a lovely mountain view off the front porch and a firepit to enjoy on cool evenings. It is located on a working Amish farm with horses and sheep in the pastures surrounding the cottage. There are two bedrooms and one bath. The access to the second bedroom is through the first, making it perfect for families with young children or other intimate gatherings.

Oak Bend Cottage truly is a unique experience. It offers two bedrooms and one bath. It is on an active Amish farm that take you back in time and will give you all the tranquility and quietness you need. The views are tremendous!
You also are welcome to bring apples and carrots to feed the sheep and the horses that come up to the yard. They will be you best friends in no time.
There is no TV at the cottage but you do have free Wi-Fi and great Verizon cell service and you are welcome to bring your own devices.
As listed in the description, the second bedroom is access by walking through the first bedroom. So you want to keep that in consideration before you book.
There is lots of hiking trails, recreation, eating and shopping options available within a few minutes of the cottage. Those will be listed in the "what to do" section of this listing.

Location

Oak Bend Cottage is located in the heart of a rural Amish community. The people are very friendly and they look out for each other if there is a need. You will feel like that the time has turned back 75 years in the neighborhood. In the morning you will see children walking to school with their lunch boxes swing as they chatter and then they return in the same manner in the afternoon. The Amish school is located approximately a quarter miles across the field.

Basement apartment in a rural country setting, nestled between two mountains. We're only10 miles from Route 322, halfway between Harrisburg and State College. Minutes from Juniata Valley Winery (literally only 3 miles down the road) and Port Royal Speedway (8 miles).

Make this your Home Away From Home! This is a finished basement with all the comforts of home. Full kitchen, large livingroom, bedroom and 3/4 bath. Enjoy watching the chickens and goats grazing in the meadow. There's a swingset outside that your children are welcome to use. Build a campfire in the fire ring and roast hotdogs and marshmallows for supper!

To help muffle the chaos and commotion of normal family life, we did as much sound proofing as possible. We will try to keep the noise down in the mornings but please be aware......... we live here and you WILL hear us!

Other things to note:

The basement is yours, with the exception of the small cold storage room that goes off the kitchen. Also the water heater and furnace room goes off the bathroom.

If you are not comfortable with using the gas (propane) stove, there is also an electric single coil burner in the kitchen for you to cook with.

Cell phone service may be poor in the basement but there is WiFi available.

The Duck Nest Tiny cabin is here for you to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and recharge in nature. Located right along the Aughwick river, it’s the perfect spot to bring your fishing pole, wade in the creek, or bring your kayaks. This is a small family campground style property, the cabin you will have all to yourself, and you will have access to the common area of the gorgeous fire pit area, Shuffleboard, and the creek area. You may or may not see other people at the creek area during your stay
