Our home has 4 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. We are pet friendly and kid friendly with amenities to make your life easier! Bed linens and towels come with the unit and there is laundry on site in case you need to wash something while you are visiting. This townhouse is private, 3 full floors for you and your family or friends.

The main floor of the townhouse comes with a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, oven/stove & microwave. There is a Keurig, as well as a regular coffee pot, cookware and basic kitchen utensils. The downstairs 1/2 bath located off the kitchen has a stand up washer dryer unit, a toilet and sink. The dining room which is located just off the kitchen seats 6-8 people comfortably around the large farmhouse table with additional pull out leaves if needed. The living room at the front of the townhouse has a L-shaped couch and TV for comfy nights and extra lounging space.

On the second floor you will find 3 bedrooms and a full bathroom. The back bedroom has a queen sized bed and a dresser. The middle bedroom has a double (full) sized bed and dresser. The front bedroom has a king sized bed and dresser as well as small seating area by the window. Each bedroom has a TV and closet space. The bathroom has a regular sized bathtub and shower setup, a toilet and a sink.

On the third floor you will find a large seating area with TV and couch, and a separate bedroom with a queen size bed and dresser.

The backyard is fully fenced with a 6ft privacy fence and 6-unit parking space at the rear of the fenced yard. There is a patio with outdoor furniture and a propane firepit. You will also find a small sitting space on both the front and side porch area of the townhouse. Each porch is railed and semi-private.

- "We recently spent a week at Shade Mountain Retreat with our family of 16. It's a wonderful property for a multi-generational vacation. Hiking trails and a firepit were available for our active members. A pool table was well used by all 3 generations present. The large property gave us space for many activities. There are extra activities available in the area. Our only concern was a lack of cell phone coverage (not Jake's fault)" - "This beautiful, clean property, situated in a lush green forest, was the perfect choice for our large extended family gathering in May. We were 14 guests of many ages, but there was always a possibility we might have had more, and it was nice to know we had room to sleep 20 just in case. Our elderly folks were quite comfortable among the 4 queen bedrooms on the main floor, without ever using stairs, to their delight. The kids were quite happy to be together in bedrooms on the lower floor, near the pool table (The site of a secret midnight pool tournament... rumor has it.) There are many different family rooms sprinkled around the 2 buildings, providing the various age groups to gather independently. Other indoor activities are available, and the very large ping pong game room above the garage was perfect for our rainy day. A VERY long dining table was key for seating 12 of us with even a few more at the counter, and the two extra refrigerators in the garage meant that our many meals over 5 days were possible without any food runs. Relatives all got a chance to reconnect while seated together. The large BBQ got used every night, and can officially fit 16 large steaks. Hiking trails (hilly) provided a bit of exercise and bird-spotting, while the fire pit was a big hit in the chilly evening. (Thanks to our awesome host for providing firewood!) Our host, Jake, was very responsive, before and throughout the rental process. We could not have asked for a better experience."

The whole property was fun to hike around, and it was a nice neighborhood. We stopped by the winery down the street for wine slushies and the grocery store was super close when we needed a couple extra items. We had 18 women, and it was plenty of space and easy to cook and serve for that number. We would definitely stay again!"

The barndominium apartment is the second story of a cute country store named ‘The Pantry Barn’. It’s the only store in little quaint Bloserville and was the residence of the shop owner and his family when the store was originally built in the mid 1900’s. The Pantry Barn is the only store in Bloserville and it is a quaint little market that you are sure to get a couple meals from during your stay. We are so small we have the Newville zip code. Store is opening Summer 2022. We are the owners and live in a farm quarter mile down the same road and are very available shall you need anything during your stay.

It is located on a working Amish farm with horses and sheep in the pastures surrounding the cottage. There are two bedrooms and one bath. The access to the second bedroom is through the first, making it perfect for families with young children or other intimate gatherings.

Oak Bend Cottage truly is a unique experience. It offers two bedrooms and one bath. It is on an active Amish farm that take you back in time and will give you all the tranquility and quietness you need. The views are tremendous!
You also are welcome to bring apples and carrots to feed the sheep and the horses that come up to the yard. They will be you best friends in no time.
There is no TV at the cottage but you do have free Wi-Fi and great Verizon cell service and you are welcome to bring your own devices.
As listed in the description, the second bedroom is access by walking through the first bedroom. So you want to keep that in consideration before you book.
There is lots of hiking trails, recreation, eating and shopping options available within a few minutes of the cottage. Those will be listed in the "what to do" section of this listing.

Location

Oak Bend Cottage is located in the heart of a rural Amish community. The people are very friendly and they look out for each other if there is a need. You will feel like that the time has turned back 75 years in the neighborhood. In the morning you will see children walking to school with their lunch boxes swing as they chatter and then they return in the same manner in the afternoon. The Amish school is located approximately a quarter miles across the field.

Basement apartment in a rural country setting, nestled between two mountains. We're only10 miles from Route 322, halfway between Harrisburg and State College. Minutes from Juniata Valley Winery (literally only 3 miles down the road) and Port Royal Speedway (8 miles).

Make this your Home Away From Home! This is a finished basement with all the comforts of home. Full kitchen, large livingroom, bedroom and 3/4 bath. Enjoy watching the chickens and goats grazing in the meadow. There's a swingset outside that your children are welcome to use. Build a campfire in the fire ring and roast hotdogs and marshmallows for supper!

To help muffle the chaos and commotion of normal family life, we did as much sound proofing as possible. We will try to keep the noise down in the mornings but please be aware......... we live here and you WILL hear us!

Other things to note:

The basement is yours, with the exception of the small cold storage room that goes off the kitchen. Also the water heater and furnace room goes off the bathroom.

If you are not comfortable with using the gas (propane) stove, there is also an electric single coil burner in the kitchen for you to cook with.

Cell phone service may be poor in the basement but there is WiFi available.

Located right along the Aughwick river, it’s the perfect spot to bring your fishing pole, wade in the creek, or bring your kayaks. This is a small family campground style property, the cabin you will have all to yourself, and you will have access to the common area of the gorgeous fire pit area, Shuffleboard, and the creek area. You may or may not see other people at the creek area during your stay

The view of the valley & surrounding mountains are beautiful & always changing with the seasons as is the medicinal herbs, vegetables & fruit growing in the gardens. 6) Pets must be authorized and a $250 pet fee will apply per pet

7) If more than 16 guests, an extra guest fee that is $20 per person per night will plus service fee and taxes apply.

Sunsets, star gazing, & mountain views from this beautifully renovated cabin originally built in the 1800’s can be outstanding. Enjoy relaxing, playing disc (frisbee) golf, horseshoes, or hiking around the property. Within 5-15 minutes there are more hiking plus fishing options at Big Spring & Fowlers Hollow State Parks along with Tuscarora State Forest. Our valley has a large Amish community. In fact, there is an Amish bakery down the street. Use caution approaching & passing the buggies.
The space
The old log cabin received a beautiful internal and external facelift in 2021-2022. Watching the sunset over the pond from a rocking chair on the covered front porch, playing games on the picnic table on the covered back porch, or just hanging out on the deck taking in the mountain and pond views, or the stars, creates memorable moments for you. The table-top Blackstone grill on the deck offers a great cooking surface for pancakes, bacon, grilled cheese, hamburgers, and more.
Play a round of disc (frisbee) golf around the property or horseshoes at the pavilion. While exploring the 22 acres, keep an eye out for special items placed in various locations and benches that take advantage of views. Many of the outdoor areas and facilities are common areas that might be shared with a few others.
The two-sided outdoor toilet and double shower facilities are a few steps away from the cabin. There are no facilities inside the cabin.
Once inside the cabin, the rustic kitchen and main room are on the first floor. The kitchen has cold running water along with an apartment sized refrigerator, drip coffee maker, microwave, air fryer toaster oven, crockpot dishes, utensils, pots, and a hot plate.
The Amish made dining table with seating for 6 is located in the main room. The futon offers seating besides opening to a full-sized bed. The CordyRoy chair unzips to reveal a queen-sized floor mattress tucked inside. Once opened, give it a few strong shakes to even the distribution. Bedding for the futon and mattress is located in the chest and the dresser. Towels are located in the dresser.
The TV has no streaming or cable service connected to it. There is a Blueray DVD player provided along with a few DVD's. Feel free to bring your game system if desired. The wifi connection is usually weak inside the main room due to the thick logs. A better connection is available outside and at the pavilion.
Climb the ladder steps to the loft bedroom with queen bed. There is also a chair to enjoy the view from the window. The limited headroom in the loft is due to the steep roof grade.
Guest access
You have sole access to the inside and immediate outside areas of the cabin.
Other areas on the property are common areas.
Other things to note
We are surrounded by thousands of acres of state forest/park filled with wildlife that could be hunted. Be aware when driving or walking on or off this property for wildlife movement or presence.
Maximum 2 pets.
Pond swimming or fishing and drones are not allowed.

Spend your day/weekend glamping in a piece of paradise. The Tiny House is tucked into the corner of our lower field by the wood line. Fall asleep to the relaxing sounds of the stream right outside your French doors. It's a short walk to the common areas which include outdoor toilet facilities & warm water showers with sinks, and the pavilion with electric, wifi, water, & rustic kitchen. Play a round of disc (Frisbee) golf, horseshoes, star gaze, or hike here or a local State Park. Watch out for the Amish buggies.
The space
The Tiny House has its own perfect private location by the stream at the edge of the woods in our lower field. Open‌ ‌the‌ ‌French‌ ‌doors‌ ‌to ‌enjoy the sounds of the stream and nature from inside‌ ‌while‌ ‌the magnetic‌ ‌screen‌ ‌aids‌ ‌in‌ ‌keeping‌ ‌bugs‌ ‌outside. Start‌ ‌your‌ ‌day‌ ‌with‌ ‌a‌ ‌cup‌ ‌of‌ ‌French‌ ‌pressed‌ ‌coffee‌ ‌or‌ ‌tea‌ ‌utilizing‌ ‌a ‌propane‌ ‌camping stove that is provided. ‌Most‌ ‌cooking‌ ‌supplies‌, utensils‌, along with a container of water ‌are‌ ‌provided, but you do need Propane camping canisters for the stove/Little Buddy heater.
There are battery operated camping lanterns and a battery operated fan provided for your use as there is NO electricity connected to the pre installed inside lights and outlets in the Tiny House at this time. There is also no Wifi access at this location on the property. A small portable generator is provided so you can charge your cell phones & operate the floor lamp. You can also charge your cell phones and use the WiFi at the pavilion.
The Pavilion is a shared space where Wifi and a rustic kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven & sinks are available for use. Reminder -only use those items you put in the refrigerator as it is also available for others to use.
A Mr Buddy camping propane heater is provided for your use if needed. Camping propane cylinders are needed to use it.
A rustic shower with a solar water bag is located right outside or take a short walk to outdoor showers & sinks with warm water located near the two-sided outdoor toilet facility on the other side of the pond.
Enjoy a cool evening by the fire pit right outside or cross the bridge to follow the stone path along the stream to another fire pit encircled by large stones.
Explore the beautiful 22 acre property to find various benches located at scenic overlooks, carvings, and the disc (frisbee) golf course.

Enjoy a peaceful getaway on our Organic Dairy farm, with scenic sunrises, spectacular sunsets, and sparkling starry nights. You will find a surprisingly spacious, open living and dining area; a kitchen to delight any cook; and cozy bedrooms. Sunrise with coffee on the front porch, and sunsets from the back patio or the gazebo are sure to please. During grazing season, our herd of friendly Jersey cows may be in the surrounding pastures, or passing by the house on the way to morning milking.

The space
You will be staying at our Organic Dairy farm... our family processes 100% of the milk we produce into bottled milk and chocolate milk; yogurt; kefir; cheese; and butter, which we take to farm markets in Washington DC. We also offer limited cuts of Organic Beef; eggs from pastured chickens; and raw wildflower honey. Please see our website, at CoulterFarms. net for more information about our farm. You may pre-order any of our products, and find them waiting in the fridge when you arrive!

The house is on a gravel road, which is bumpy and dusty (or muddy, depending on the season). You will be traveling slowly anyway, as you admire the scenery :-).

Guest access
You will have access to the entire main floor of the house. The loft area is available for groups larger than 6 people. Please note that the loft bedroom is accessed by fold down ladder steps, which are sturdy, but may be challenging for small children or those who are unsteady on their feet. It also has low, slanted ceilings, and it's easy to bump your head :-(. But it has a spectacular view of the back pasture!

You are also welcome to enjoy hiking on the 3 miles of well marked trails in the surrounding woods. Grab a trail map, and a picnic lunch, and get some exercise and fresh air!

Other things to note
You will surely enjoy the peace and quiet of rural Juniata County. There is a friendly small town General Store about five minutes away, if you happen to forget anything. We are about an hour and 10 minutes from Beaver Stadium, and 5 minutes from State Game lands.

You will have decent cell reception in most of the valley, if you have AT&T phone service.... otherwise, you probably won't have signal, and will need to use the house wifi... please have a copy of the directions to the house, or you may get to meet our neighbors when you stop to ask directions :-).

Our farm is surrounded by electric fences... sometimes they are on, and sometimes they are not.... it is NOT a good idea to touch them to find out if they are on. We also sometimes have a bull in the pasture with the cows.... it is also NOT a good idea to try making friends with him by going into the pasture. Depending on the season, you may see the cows passing in front of the house on the way to morning milking, which is cool to watch. You may also see tractors, farm equipment or farmers out in the fields... also cool to watch. And you may see flies or other bugs, and smell some cow byproducts.... not so fun. Keeping the doors closed will reduce the number of bugs in the house :-), and there is a cordless vac in the pantry which is handy for evicting unwanted visitors.

Although nicely updated, this is an older house. The bedroom floors are squeaky. If you are the type to roam around at night, and are traveling with a light sleeper, this house may not suit you.

There are a pack&play and a booster seat in the living room closet, and toys in the chest, for any little ones.

Off the road but easily accessible secluded cabin located in a 135 acre pine forest. A bird watchers haven. Take your coffee on the covered deck and enjoy the peace, quiet and the wildlife. Sit around the campfire, free firewood is provided, enjoy a walk in the woods! Family friendly. We allow pets but have a two pet limit and they must be crated when unattended.

The space
The cabin is used for our family hunting camp but has all the comforts of home with lots of amenities. Hiking is allowed and welcomed but NO HUNTING permitted or motorized vehicles on the trails.

Guest access
The complete cabin and yard are all yours to enjoy. There is another cabin next door that we use for storage and personal use. It will be locked and not for guests' use.
During hunting season our family members may be in and out of the cabin next door for hunting equipment but will not be staying long and will try to not disturb you.
October and November is PA archery season, if you will be walking in the woods please wear bright colors. During the summer you are welcome to walk all the trails and sit in our blinds, there are quite a few. Enjoy the outdoors. Be aware of ticks on yourselves and your pets.

Other things to note
The town of Blain is nearby with a grocery store, hardware store, pizza shop, and restaurant. Don't miss Kings Bakery and their famous chicken BBQ in New Germantown!

Come stay at The Enslow Bridge House; the epitome of peace and tranquility, overlooking one of the area’s 14 covered bridges and the surrounding mountains and valley. Relax in the spacious great room which boasts a cathedral ceiling and natural lighting plus a large tv, or the sunroom, bringing the outdoors inside with glass on three sides. With plenty of sleeping space and an open layout, this house is sure to be a favorite!

The space
Both indoors and out, this property is sure to be a favorite! Sleeping arrangements include a king en suite room with a toddler bed, a queen room with a bunk bed and shared bathroom, a sofa bed in the sunroom and a couch in the living room. A large smart TV in the living room and a second smart TV in the sunroom allows adults and kids to their own viewing pleasures while bringing the family together! Behind the house is a private above ground pool and patio. Feel free to meander down to the bridge and fish the stocked trout waters, or just relax on the patio overlooking the creek and bridge.

Guest access
With the exception of the basement, you will have access to the entire house and surrounding yard and creek. Please be aware of the location of toddlers with the creek nearby!

3. Please refrain from smoking inside the home! If any signs of smoking are documented, the renter agrees to pay $200.00 / per day.

4. If there is snow here in the Winter, we try to maintain the road with a plow, but you will need a 4 wheel drive in the Winter if there is snow.

4) Please notify us if you plan to bring pets. Pet fee applies per pet.

5) Please specify the accurate guest count and notify us. If that number changes and is more than 16, an extra guest fee that is $20 per person per night plus service fee and taxes will apply.

6) All day time visitors must be registered and included in the guest count.

7) Please remember to thoroughly check all your belongings before leaving. If  you forget something and want it shipped back to you, we can do that for $35.
