The kitchen had everything that we needed to make ourselves small meals and put all of our goodies that we collected from the farm stands in the fridge. The air conditioning worked great when we needed it, but we also enjoyed the crisp fall air and having some windows opened and hearing the noises of the Amish buggies going by, the faint sounds of roosters in the distance and hearing the horsea do their thing. Or come play on the lake. Lake Aldred is an eight mile lake known for water skiing /fishing/ kayaking. Formed by two dams on the Susquehanna River in southern Lancaster county. Decks make this the perfect retreat. The main deck off the main level is 960 sq. ft. includes a hot tub and plenty of room for everyone.

Main level welcomes you to your private retreat, the outside flows inside ~ living room floods with windows bringing outside inside. The kitchen opens to the main living area and is fully equipped: microwave, dishwasher ~ pass thru bar to the deck and gas grill cooking. Or cook dinners for those family gatherings. Waters Edge is a custom house built specifically for entertaining guests for a truly memorable vacation with family or friends.
The house is a open floor plan that flows from the beautiful interior to the amazing exterior and surrounding waterfront.
I created this home for a truly wonderful guest experience. This home is what I have learned during the last 10 years with owning 5 other vacation rentals and managing other properties and I placed it all into this magnificent home.
The home consists of 5,000 sqft of interior space and 1200 sqft of cover porch space along with 800 sqft of sun deck area with a heated pool, plus 1200 sqft of brick patio with a hot tub.

Pool is normally opened mid May and closes in September, all depends on the weather.
Hot Tub is open year round.

*** Listing price is for 8 guests in 4 of the bedrooms. These bedrooms include: First Floor Master, Two Basement Bedrooms and The Loft Bedroom.

There’s an additional fee of $1000 during peak season while the pool is open and $600 in off season when pool is closed. If you choose to have all 7 bedrooms and want to bring more than 8 guests, which brings your total guest amount to 16. The house and property is designed for a maximum occupancy of 16 including any guests that you may have stop over during the day.
Please let me know if you need all 7 bedrooms even if you only have 8 guests. So an additional payment request can be taken care of through the site. The fee is a one time charge for the length of your stay.

The cabin at Muddy Creek is a beautifully restored stone home on 40+ acres with over 4,000 ft of the creek running through it. A perfect getaway for those really looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. It's whatever you want to make it! Tons of things to get into with the family or a peaceful place to relax and really connect with nature. Not to mention .. pet friendly! We love our furry family members and think they should be included in family vacations as well! Regardless of what you do here, the sound of the running water from the creek that runs through the property really soothes the soul.

Enjoy our property to its full potential .. Have fun spending the day fishing, kayaking (two single kayaks available), tubing (4 tubes available), hiking, or just walking the grounds. The little ones love going into the stream to catch crawdads and salamanders! There is so much fun to be had and plenty of memories to be made here!

If you're more low key, this is the perfect place for you as well! Enjoy the sound of the running water in our adirondack chairs down near the creek and if you're really feeling adventurous, light up a fire in the pit! You could also take a walk over to the tree swing or the bridge and relax with a good book.

We do need to note that this house was built in the 1800s, it for sure was not built the way homes are made today (which obviously makes this home VERY special) The two staircases in the house are narrow and you may need to be careful and possibly have to duck your head a little going up and down. We would say if you have mobility issues you may want to figure out if staying here is the best plan for you.

Incredible attention to details in decorating the house, everything you need is there down to the welcoming s'mores kit and bottle of wine. The grounds are very well taken care off and the creek made for fun splashing for the dog and the humans. We only stayed two days (one night) because of scheduling conflicts so we didn't try out the kayaks or tubes. Give Ma Pa Pizza a try - you won't regret it! We certainly hope to be back soon! Farmhouse style home built in1885 located in the small hamlet called Oakryn. The home has 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, living room, eat-in kitchen, office and mudroom. The downstairs bedroom has a queen bed, upstairs bedrooms have a king bed and a twin bed. The bathroom is located downstairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need if you want to make meal or just fix coffee and toast. All linens, towels, paper products and kitchen cleaning products are provided. A 32 inch Smart TV is in the living room with basic cable and free wifi.

Location, Location, Location! This home is located in the country close to Amish and Mennonite farms but a short 15 minute drive to Quarryville, Oxford, or the Maryland border. Within a 1 hr 15 minute drive you can go to the Philadelphia Museum of Art , the Inner Harbor and National Aquarium in Baltimore. All the attractions in the Lancaster area are accessible in about 45 minutes. It is 1 hour to Hershey Park.
Have a delicious crab dinner on the Chesapeake Bay after an easy 30 minute drive! Two hours in car and you can stand on the beach with Atlantic waves washing over toes!

Stop and visit the Conowingo pool while enjoying hilltop views of the Susquehanna River. Baltimore is just a little over an hour from this location as well as Philadelphia. Other places like the gorgeous Longwood Gardens and a fun day at Yogi Bear Jellystone Waterpark are within 20-40 minutes away.

- "We loved staying here and would love to come back. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and beautifully appointed, and the water view and large peaceful porch were a central focus of enjoyment for our group of 10. The kitchen is well supplied with housewares and the extra fridge in the pantry was a bonus. As far as entertainment, the hot tub, Wii Sports, and pool table gave us plenty to do when we were relaxing. Even the train coming by sporadically added some excitement and didn’t pose an interruption. We highly recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet waterfront space in proximity to the Lancaster area."

Overview

This 7000+ sq foot home is nestled along the beautiful Susquehanna River in rural Harford County, MD, and offers lovely views and a relaxing ambiance. You'll love the expansive decks and the hot tub on the lower-level patio that provide lots of relaxation options. Sleeps 20. (Sleeps 16 without the two new bedrooms in the basement, which are rented separately. The rooms in the basement are $35 a night per room. This is not figured into the total. Please contact us and we will try and accommodate your needs.)

River Haven is sparkling clean and flooded with natural light from all the windows. The fully equipped kitchen is designed to meet all your cooking needs. There is a king-sized bed in the master suite, two bedrooms with queen beds, one more large bedroom with a queen bed, two sets of twin over full bunks with twin trundles, and plenty of floor space for your air mattresses. The property features a total of four and a half bathrooms, a laundry room, a dining room, and a deck with an outdoor living space. We offer an expansive playset for your children. The basement offers air hockey, corn hole, ping-pong, and a new five-person hot tub with all the bells and whistles on the stone patio. Bring your friend group or whole family and enjoy the views and ambience of a vacation rental done right. At the end of the street, there is a launching dock for kayaks. (No kayaks are provided.)

River Haven now features a whole-house backup generator, eliminating concerns about power outages.

Please note that a four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended if your trip is scheduled for winter. Two-wheel drives will be just fine unless the road is covered in snow.

- Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM.

- Please be aware that you will be charged 10% of the total trip amount at booking, and the remaining 90% will be charged to the card on file thirty days prior to check-in.

- A $350 Damage Waiver Fee will be charged at checkout. If no damage is reported after cleaning, the refund will be processed to the card on file.

Rocks State Park in Jarrettsville offers rocky terrain and beautiful views. Don't miss the White Trail and the King and Queen Seat Trail.

Susquehanna State Park, a short drive south, has trails along the river. Check out the Turkey Point Lighthouse Trail for great views.

Harford County's Ma & Pa Trail is a scenic rail-trail with different sections suitable for various skill levels.

Gunpowder Falls State Park has numerous hiking trails along the Gunpowder River.

The owner from 2005 to 2021 did a lot of work to this house.

The place is located in Conowingo/Port Deposit. It is 5 mins from the Conowingo Dam and the upper Susquehanna River which is famous for fishing, bird watching, and water activities. Visit the historic Port Deposit and Havre de Grace where excellent restaurants, shops, and beautiful views. The Great Wolf Lodge and Hollywood Casino are only 4 miles away. The area is also great for animal lovers, the Plumpton Zoo is 10 mins away and 20 mi. Fair Hill Equestrian center . Don't forget to visit the Amish farmer's market for fresh local produce.

- "This was one of our best VRBO experiences to date. The house was so clean, the owners thought of everything to make the stay like you were at home. We loved that it was only two miles to the town of Port Deposit which was a really fun town with lots of restaurants and bars on the river. There were not many accomadation options in this part of Maryland and we picked the best one for sure!!!!!" - "You could immediately tell the hosts put a lot of thought into their space when it was created. Everything seamlessly flows together stylistically. The full kitchen has everything you need. Literally. There were plenty of extra bedding and linen and there were the little things that always make a guest smile: all toiletries if you forgot, full coffee and tea bar, and snacks. This is a weird detail, but I actually liked that the toilet and the shower were in different small rooms-super convenient when getting ready. There is not a tv in the bedrooms so heads-up to those who usually leave it on. The light controls are a little wonky, but there's directions and auto lights to help you out. These are more semamtics and not to detract from the space at all! Keep a close eye out for the sign to guide you in and be careful-its pretty tight getting back to the apt. There is a gravel driveway when you get there, just watch out for trees! We had such a pleasant stay at this space and if we were ever back this way, we would stay again. Thanks, hosts!"
