The Carriage House at Seven Saddles Farm is a working horse farm that sits in Southern Lancaster County, nestled in the middle of Amish farmlands. With the rolling hills and breath-taking sunsets and sunrises, guests are sure to find peace and relaxation in our home. With the farm style decorations and accommodations, guests can sit on the deck and take in the view of the country, horses grazing in the pasture, and frequent horse and buggies passing by. Sleeps 4 adults, 2 children. Our place is equipped for both long or short stays to make your get away one to remember.
- "The worse part was having to leave. Waking up to beautiful sunrises and looking out upon the horses was such a tranquil way to start our day each morning. Bryan & Jenn really put so much thought and detail into this space. It’s called Seven Saddles and the name of the B&B is embroidered into the pillows and the towels really adding to that bed-and-breakfast feel. we came early in October and we’re welcomed at the door with Fall harvest decor on the porch and on the deck. The kitchen had everything that we needed to make ourselves small meals and put all of our goodies that we collected from the farm stands in the fridge. The air conditioning worked great when we needed it, but we also enjoyed the crisp fall air and having some windows opened and hearing the noises of the Amish buggies going by, the faint sounds of roosters in the distance and hearing the horsea do their thing. It's really a special bnb, we hope to return back some time. Thank you again for sharing your hard work and space with us. "

Layout of house was as described in listing but still a little awkward that both showers aren’t on the same floor with the bedrooms. There is a full bath with a beautiful stand-alone tub on the same floor with the bedrooms so if baths are your thing then it’s perfect. Owner was very nice and responsive throughout the whole process!"

A cabin in the woods with a hot coffee and warm blanket nestled by a beautiful fire pit overlooking the creek is just what everyone needs to getaway.
The cabin at Muddy Creek is a beautifully restored stone home on 40+ acres with over 4,000 ft of the creek running through it. A perfect getaway for those really looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. It's whatever you want to make it! Tons of things to get into with the family or a peaceful place to relax and really connect with nature. Not to mention .. pet friendly! We love our furry family members and think they should be included in family vacations as well! Regardless of what you do here, the sound of the running water from the creek that runs through the property really soothes the soul.
Enjoy our property to its full potential .. Have fun spending the day fishing, kayaking (two single kayaks available), tubing (4 tubes available), hiking, or just walking the grounds. The little ones love going into the stream to catch crawdads and salamanders! There is so much fun to be had and plenty of memories to be made here!
If you're more low key, this is the perfect place for you as well! Enjoy the sound of the running water in our adirondack chairs down near the creek and if you're really feeling adventurous, light up a fire in the pit! You could also take a walk over to the tree swing or the bridge and relax with a good book.
We do need to note that this house was built in the 1800s, it for sure was not built the way homes are made today (which obviously makes this home VERY special) The two staircases in the house are narrow and you may need to be careful and possibly have to duck your head a little going up and down. We would say if you have mobility issues you may want to figure out if staying here is the best plan for you.
NO WEDDINGS OR EVENTS
(Fireplaces are for show only)
Disclosure-A camera is located on the driveway when you enter the property. There are also wildlife cameras attached to three trees on the property not pointed at or near the house. There are also cameras around the barn that are only active during certain events, the ones inside the barn are active.
- "Jodi & Adam's property is absolutely stunning. The house is even better in person than the pictures. Incredible attention to details in decorating the house, everything you need is there down to the welcoming s'mores kit and bottle of wine. The grounds are very well taken care off and the creek made for fun splashing for the dog and the humans. We only stayed two days (one night) because of scheduling conflicts so we didn't try out the kayaks or tubes. Give Ma Pa Pizza a try - you won't regret it! We certainly hope to be back soon! Thanks again for sharing this beautiful piece of land with the rest of us!"

Our cozy, country barn apartment is located on our nine acre farmette. The entire apartment is located on the second floor of the barn. The setting is very private along a quiet country road, surrounded by Amish farms. Visit the goats, chickens and any other animals we may currently have, take a hike into the woods, roast some marshmallows over the fire, or just relax and enjoy the view of the beautiful countryside from the kitchen window while the kids play outside on the swingset.
We are located 6 miles from Sight and Sound Theaters, 5 miles from Strasburg Railroad, and within 10 miles of Cherry - Crest Farm, American Music Theater, Rockvale and Tanger Outlets, and many other Amish country attractions including Dutch Wonderland.
Since we started out as a more traditional Bed and Breakfast years ago, I still enjoy stocking the kitchen with a light supply of breakfast items to get you started out such as bread for toasting, pastries, fruit, hot and cold drinks, cereals, farm fresh eggs, etc.

While it is a small house, there are lots of other spaces. The front porch, the back deck, the playset area, and the fire pit area were all great in kind of spreading out when needed. - "My wife and I have stayed in another property owned by Tom & Amanda and were disappointed when it was booked on the date of our getaway. Tom suggested we take a look at the Trolley House, so glad we did. Trolley House is a beautiful little house built in 1860. Updated tastefully in a way that maintains its character but makes it very comfortable. We found it to be just close enough to our favorite spots around Lancaster but far enough to be very private. We loved everything about it and will definitely be back for another getaway weekend. Tom & Amanda are fantastic hosts, we highly recommend staying in one of thier beautiful and clean properties. Also, loved the classic PA whoopie pies waiting for us on the kitchen island:)"

- "My family of four including 2 children and our fur child stayed at the Scotland guest house for a couple of nights. The house was very clean, it has all necessary amenities and we liked that it not overcrowded with unnecessary items. The space outside is nice and location is amazing. It is in the Amish county but at the same time located close enough to restaurants, gas stations, pharmacy and market. Kim was very responsive and not overbearing. She gave us our space and privacy but was available when we needed her. We 100% recommend this property!!!"

Be a part of history while staying on this waterfront property of the Ironmaster's Mansion. This two-story stone guesthouse, situated just steps away from the mansion, was built in the early 1700's. The timeless character of the home, together with the peaceful property creates an escape that feels like you've gone back in time, all while being only 20 minutes away from downtown Lancaster City.
Nestled at the crux of the renowned "river hills" the Ironmaster Mansion property is located directly beside the Pequea Creek. This is a nature lover's dream destination. Enjoy woods, hiking and biking trails, rock climbing, fishing, tubing, kayaking and paddle boarding. Two easy access points to the Enola Low Grade Trail are within one mile. This trail is perfect for biking or walking and is connected by historic trestle bridges.
The property is on a major routed road making it easy to find and for quick, direct travel to Lancaster City and other popular tourist destinations. Tanger Outlets, Dutch Wonderland and Sight and Sound Theater are all within 25 minutes.
On site parking is provided for two vehicles directly to the side of the property. The Pequea Creek is just steps away from the parking area and a popular hiking path that follows the Pequea Creek can be accessed by simply crossing the road. Two easy access points to the Enola Low Grade Trail are within one mile.
Outside enjoy a newly built deck while listening to the water of the nearby creek. On the first floor you will find a cozy living room with gas fireplace and 42" smart TV and a quaint kitchen, equipped with electric range, full size refrigerator and dishwasher. Upstairs is a newly renovated bathroom with shower only, and two bedrooms, each with queen size beds. Newly updated central air/heat system warms and cools the home accordingly.
A beautifully handcrafted wooden staircase will greet you directly at your parking. This will lead you up a steep bank of about 25 steps to the historic stone Ironmaster Mansion guest house that you will call home. The steps have two landings and are well lit in the evening. Please view exterior photos to assess your ability of the stairs, especially considering luggage.
Outdoor lights will be on to welcome you if you’re arriving after dark. Please use caution on the brick pathway which can be slippery while raining and when wet.
A keypad is mounted on the door to unlock the smart lock for self check-in.
The house is newly updated with central heating and air conditioning.
On the first floor is the kitchen and living room with a small dining table. This is a drop leaf table that can extend to seat four. Extra chairs are located in the kitchen closet.
Enjoy a smart TV and gas fireplace in the living room. The gas fireplace warms the home quickly and creates the coziest ambiance, but rest assured that central heating is the main heat source.
In the living room a sofa pulls out to a queen size mattress. Linens and pillows for the sofa bed are found in the upstairs closet.
The creek is located on the opposite side of the stone lane and can be admired from the large, newly built deck. The deck has a table, chairs, and lounge chairs perfect for sunbathing. Also enjoy views of the creek from the windows of the house when the leaves are down.
There is a very steep and narrow staircase from the kitchen that leads up to the second floor. The stairs can be tricky to navigate. If your luggage is large consider using the secondary stairs on the outside of the home, just past the front door.
On the second floor you will find a bathroom with shower only, and two bedrooms, both with queen size beds. Kindly do not access the unfinished attic.
***We wish the property was more handicap accessible and friendlier to those who have difficulty with stairs. Please carefully assess your ability after reviewing photos of the steep exterior and interior steps.
- "Very clean. Cozy. Had a nice overnight stay. " - "Had an awesome weekend enjoying the historical farmhouse, being one with nature walking the trail across the street, and visiting some local establishments. From the moment we booked, the owners provided prompt responses and answered any questions we had. Directions were on point and easy to follow. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the history behind the area. The owners took a lot of care in the restoration process. We even got to relaxed on the porch with a glass of wine while watching the Amish horse and buggies drive by. The trail immediately across the street was a hidden gem. After about a 35 minute walk you end at a covered bridge. The trail is adjacent to the water; there are areas to stop and take in the scenic views. Relaxing weekend-we also enjoyed all the special spa products in the bathroom. Thank you for everything!"

Kick back and relax in the spacious, light-filled ground floor guest suite of our 1978 A-Frame hillside home. You will enjoy sunny southern exposure and amazing Amish farmland views from large picture windows and sliding glass doors in both the kitchen/living area and the HUGE bedroom. You'll feel miles away and yet you'll be conveniently located to many local wedding venues, attractions, and downtown Lancaster. Watch the Amish buggies roll by while you sip your coffee!
From your private front porch you will enter the apartment into the cheerful kitchen and living area. This is where the dining table and the queen size sofa bed are located. Off of this room you will find the full bathroom with large closet. Through the living room straight ahead you’ll enter the huge, sunny bedroom with unique and gorgeous brick floor. A king size bed with brand new Sealy memory foam mattress graces this space along with a desk, wardrobe, dresser, tv with Roku, loveseat, stereo, and the record player. This room also has a set of sliding doors leading out to the front porch and furniture. This part of the porch is uncovered and is great for sitting in the sun during the day and stargazing at night :). The covered part of the porch is nice during the day when you need some shade. You will have amazing country views from every area inside or outside! Please note—there is only parking for one car for our guests in the driveway. We are a small family of 3--we have a happy 2 year old son, you will hear him running and playing upstairs from time to time. We do our best to keep him quiet between 8 pm and 8 am. If you are looking for a space so quiet you can hear a pin drop, this is not the place for you! But if the occasional sounds of a child at play don't bother you, we provide a welcoming and clean spot at a great price for all to relax and enjoy. Also, please note that guests may not use the wood stove, it is an insurance requirement.
Guests have exclusive use of the entire front porch in the photos as well as the bathroom, kitchen/living area, and bedroom. We live upstairs and do not share any of these areas with our guests. You will find you have quite a bit of privacy since you are up on a hill and because of the way the property is laid out. While you have exclusive use of the front porch, we spend most of our time out back.
We are available by call or text if you need anything during your stay, but will otherwise keep to ourselves :)
Please note that we can only provide parking for one car for guests so please plan accordingly. Guests may not use the wood stove, it is an insurance requirement.

The pool, naturally, was a hit with the school-age children. Its safe in depth, warmed in the cool evenings, and is memorably unique. The distance to many things (theaters in Lancaster, Hershey Park, Turkey Hill Experience, Dutch Wonderland, Great Wolf Lodge) is just enough for a trek to be included in the itinerary. If you like rural runs, you can get in a nice several mile run on a roundtrip on the road that the property is located on. Bravo to the hosts. "

The space

You can relax and unwind after a day of exploring while enjoying the convenience of amenities like WiFi, a stackable washer/dryer and AC. The bathrooms are updated. The cottage is located adjacent to the Ferncliff Wildlife and Wildflower Preserve, a scenic and peaceful wooded ravine. The trail follows Barnes Run which directly leads to the Susquehanna River. In addition, the area has many other beautiful natural attractions - take a drive through Fishing Creek, walk out to the Pinnacle overlooking the Susquehanna Rive for amazing views, and hike Kelly's Run and Tucquan Glen Nature Preserve.
Shenk's Ferry and the Ferncliff Preserve are known for their flowers in the spring. The cottage is only minutes away from the Drumore Estate, a premier wedding venue.
Lancaster city, a walkable town rich with history and architecture, is about 30 minutes away. The city is lively with restaurants, pubs, bars and shops. We recommend a visit to the oldest farmers market in the country in the center of town (open Tuesday, Friday and Saturday mornings). And, of course, enjoy the beautiful Amish farmland, shops and attractions.
While the cottage is secluded, a grocery store and local restaurants are about a ten-minute drive.
The house is situated on a steep hill with a paved driveway. There is parking for 3-4 cars at the top of the driveway. Cell coverage can be spotty - we recommend wifi on your phone. Internet is provided by Starlink Satellite. There is a small pond on the property - swimming is prohibited but fishing is allowed.
We welcome you to experience what Lancaster County has to offer with a stay at our peaceful cottage.
