- "This is how the rich and famous live. Private house up a hill with unbelievable views in every direction. Each sunrise and sunset was a different adventure. The house is spacious and well appointed, and you don't need to venture out much, just sit back and enjoy the views. The only question I have was about the home details on VRBO and the suggestion that a nature walk can be a fine activity. I got the feeling that they wanted you to stay on the 1+ acre property surrounding the house, not walk down the road and off the property. The only other complaint was that the sliding glass doors were a struggle to open (one did not lock) and the screen doors were needing screen replacement. I still gave the property 5 stars (more if possible), and would definitely return again. When split with 2 couples, this is a fantastic value. Thanks to the owners for providing detailed instructions upon arrival and after our stay!"

In order to walk to East or West Village for shopping and dining you will be required to walk downhill on Pine Knolls Drive to Main Street and then back uphill to the apartment. It is about a 5 minute walk to Main Street.

SLEEPING ACCOMMODATIONS
The master en suite features a queen bed with a wooden headboard. The en suite bath has a single vanity and a walk-in tiled shower with classic Carrera marble. Bedroom 2 also has a queen bed and a side chair. Both are light-filled rooms among the treetops. Bathroom 2 has a single vanity and a walk-in shower. It can be used by bedroom 2 guests and act as the general guest bath. The sofa in the living area also pulls out to a queen sofa for the 2 extra guests.

LIVING & ENTERTAINING (Interior)
Walk through the custom gated yard into the entry gardens. You have just entered paradise in Cambria. Meander your way up to the French doors either by the staircase or winding stone path. Enjoy the perfectly manicured gardens of native pines, succulents, and green vegetation along the way up. Atop the awning-covered landing you’ve arrived at the outdoor living room and entry into the home. Walk into the large, light-filled great room and be wowed by the expansive open-beam vaulted ceiling.
To the left is the living area with a sofa for 2-3 along with two leather recliners. Relax and enjoy some of your favorite TV shows on the 55” SmartTV. The TV is equipped with Spectrum basic cable along with Netflix and Hulu. Don’t forget your Netflix or Prime account numbers so you can stream movies and other favorite entertainment.

The living room is open to the dining and kitchen areas. The kitchen has a large quartz peninsula with seating for 4. The U-shaped kitchen is fully updated with stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, a 4-burner stovetop, a side-by-size fridge, microwave oven and dishwasher. It’s equipped with all the cooking necessities you’ll need to whip up some gourmet meals.

The dining room is to the right of the kitchen, with French doors opening on to the back patio. The TV room is to the right of the dining room and can also be accessed from the front patio. This home is nestled in the pines, less than a mile from the beach. The space easily accommodates two couples or one larger family with its separate loft and two bedrooms. Enjoy the fresh air from the deck and watch the sunset over the ocean. Neighborhood beach access is a short walk away, as well as miles of nature trails. Minimum stay of 30 nights. The home features a wrap-around deck with an ocean view. Walk inside into a spacious and well-stocked eat-in kitchen with ample seating. Off the kitchen is a large and comfortable living room with a gas fireplace, vaulted ceilings, and an ocean view. The entire house has been recently renovated with hardwood floors and new carpet. New cozy furnishings and mattresses will make it hard to leave.

The master bedroom is on the first floor and features a king-size bed, built-in cabinets, blackout shades, and an attached bathroom with a shower and double sinks. The half bath is just outside the bedroom, so it is accessible to everyone in your group without disruption.

Upstairs is the loft with a queen-size futon and Roku TV. Off of the loft is the second bedroom with a full-size bunk bed, more built in cabinets, and an attached second full bathroom with a bathtub.

The house has been setup to accommodate larger families. A pack n play (travel crib), high chair and baby-gate are available. Child safety measures have been taken with magnetic cabinet locks installed. Older children will enjoy the loft space while the adults can unwind in the living room or deck. Young children will find toys and books available in the living room.

Two off street parking spaces are available as well as free on street parking.

Please bring your own beach supplies. We have provided towels and bedding for the house. Please do not take towels from the house to the beach.

The detached guest house on the property is also available for rent. The patio space is the only area shared between the main house and the guest house. The entire house and deck are private.

Take a break and unwind at this peaceful oasis, with a lovely view of Fiscalini Creek trail. This downstairs studio apartment is 550 square feet. It is located on Park Hill, one half mile from Shamel Park and Moonstone beach. It has a refrigerator, 2 burner electric hot plate, large toaster oven, microwave, parking for 1 car in front of house. You will need to walk down 18 steps to get to the studio. Sit & enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine in lovely outdoor space with a peaceful view.

The space
You will have full and private use of downstairs studio apartment which has its own private entrance and outdoor space. Two twin beds can be pulled apart to make 2 twins or pushed together to make a king size bed. Let me know your preference. The couch pulls out to make a double size bed. There is a 52 inch smart TV. Kitchenette with cooking and eating supply’s provided. You can enjoy a green and lovely view out the windows, on deck or in the outdoor space with table and chairs. You can watch many wild birds including abundance of woodpeckers, wild turkeys and on occasion deers.

Guest access
Besides your private studio apartment and outdoor space, you can use the upstairs table and patio space and BBQ in front of house. Once I get to meet you and give instructions I have a washer and dryer up in the main house I would be willing to let you use when we are not in town if needed.

Other things to note
My husband and I are both retired. Our primary home and family are in the Fresno area. We enjoy Cambria part time, love taking walks and biking on the many beautiful trails and beach near our house. We also love to play Pickleball in Cambria’s fantastic Pickleball courts.

I will supply starter amount of toilet paper, paper towels, etc for at least 2 weeks, depending on how fast you use them. Once gone, you will need to restock at own cost for the remainder of your stay. There is also vacuum and cleaning supplies.

Located conveniently by the 1 highway and between Main Street and Fiscalini Ranch, 5minute drive to the ocean. This private guest cabin has all the accommodations you would need for your get away or stay. It is equipped with a full mini kitchen, with washer and dryer. This unit has its own private entrance through the outside patio and closed off to the rest of the cabin. The shared patio space has a solo stove bonfire pit with outdoor seatings.

Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located place, 1/2 block from Main Street in Cambria's East Village. This listing is when we have space open in one of our larger apartments, but want to keep the price and cleaning fees low for 2 people sharing a queen bed, in one bedroom. The space
Although charming, our 1929 suite is a cozy space of 100 square feet. Movement within the suite is limited, especially in the bathroom. Please plan accordingly.

The entire property is non-smoking. There are two units on site, therefore you may encounter others and other pets. A fence keeps the dog in the home separate from the dogs visiting the suite. The front doors to the cottage and suite are approximately ten feet apart.

CHECK-IN/OUT
- Check-in is 3:00 pm and check-out is 10:00 am. Please message us so we are aware that you have arrived/departed.
- Strip the bed and collect used towels. There are two flat bins under the bed. Place towels in one and bedding in the other.
- There is a small tray on top of microwave. Place used dishes in there, including dog bowls. Please remove trash to bins outside.
- Turn off the fan, lights, heaters, fireplace, etc.


BUGS/HIKING/TRAILS
Cambria is a woodsy, small town in the forest as well as near beaches. Wildlife, bugs, spiders, etc. may be present. We take every precaution with cleaning and pest control, however, they occasionally manage to sneak in. If you venture out onto the trails, checking for ticks before you return is recommended. Please do not get the wrong impression of our property or Cambria, but we just want to be sure you are aware.

The suite is a detached unit from the cottage, so you have complete privacy. There are a couple of chairs just outside the door if you care to be outdoors.

The front door has a keypad lock. The code will be provided the day or your arrival.

Other things to note
There is also a cottage on the property. Therefore, you may encounter other guests and pets during your stay. The two units are detached, so all guests have complete privacy.

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. CASA MADERA is a newly renovated studio apartment in charming CAMBRIA. The new kitchenette has an electric range, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposal and everything needed for preparing and serving your favorite meal. There’s a queen size Murphy Bed that easily folds away for more floor space during the day.

It’s located in an area known as the “sunbelt” and is generally warmer and less windy than other sections of town.

The space
The studio is located on the lower level of the main house with private entrance and parking.

Guests have level access to the studio via a driveway behind the main house. There is a gazebo and small yard just outside the studio’s front door.

Other things to note
Casa Madera is a completely private studio with no access from the main house.

It is great for remote work or to use as a "home base" to explore the many awesome Central Coast attractions -- from beach-combing to shopping to wine tasting to fine dining and much more (including Hearst Castle just down the road). Our private upstairs guest suite is close to all that makes Cambria such a perfect coast get-away. It features great daylight and very nice windows looking out to the forest and then to the Pacific Ocean beyond. (It has been described as a "big kids" tree house with ocean views.) There is a separate sleeping area with a terrific 5-star queen bed that receives absolute rave reviews.

We are near downtown with its East and West Villages, restaurants, coffee shops, fine dining, galleries, shopping, bakeries, bike and electric bike rentals and really so much more. Cambria's famous beaches, ocean-side boardwalks and hiking trails are just minutes away. Hiking trails and wildlife abound in our neighborhood and a nature preserve with wonderful strolling / hiking trails and great bird watching is 543 steps down the street from us.

Our lovely neighborhood is very quiet, wooded, residential and somewhat secluded (but close to everything Cambria has to offer). It is great for walking but there are some steep hills.

Wine lovers note: there are 280 wineries in SLO county that feature 40 different grape varieties. Dozens are less than an hour's drive from us and several less than 30 minutes away -- including Harmony Cellars and the ever-popular Hearst Winery with its great patio view of the San Simeon Bay.

We think Hearst Castle is an absolute treasure and shouldn't be missed (and the Julia Morgan tour is amazing). Online reservations for any of the Castle's several awesome tours are strongly recommended.

Camp Ocean Pines, home to many weekend and week-long workshops and retreats, is just a few minutes away.

Cambria has some of the best outdoor pickleball courts on the West Coast. We have equipment available for our guests if they want.

FYI: For the health and safety of our community, cleaners and our guests, we are certified through Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning and safety protocols and continue to practice those procedures.

Guest access
Guests have complete privacy (and awesome views) in the upstairs apartment that is over the garage and separate from the main house (please take a look at our photos). You can come and go as you please without interacting with the hosts (but we are always happy to chat and/or assist with dining, hiking or other suggestions). Guests have exclusive access to the downstairs deck, picnic areas and back yard (with a great swing) all of which feature a wonderful forest view out to the Pacific Ocean (and lots and lots and lots of birds).

Please try to keep us updated on your arrival time so we can plan accordingly. .

Cambria always has a water shortage. So, please be water aware and limit water usage during your stay. Please skip that shower on the day of departure!

As much as we love dogs, we cannot have them on the property because they disturb the wildlife -- even when on a leash.

Please note there are three security cameras on the property NONE OF WHICH ARE INDOORS. There are Ring doorbells at the front and downstairs doors and a security camera over the driveway. These are motion activated to record audio and video 24 / 7.

In many cases we are able to accommodate early check-ins -- sometimes as early as 10 AM the day of. There are many factors, so we can't guarantee early check-in, but please feel free to check with us a couple days before your reservation if you would like an early check-in. Even if the suite is not quite ready, you can always swing by and drop off your luggage.

Finally, please note that on Monday mornings the neighbor's gardener blows off their property with an extremely loud blower.

Forget your worries in this spacious guest suite with king bed. Located in a quiet neighborhood close to downtown Cambria. Moonstone beach is a 5 minute drive. Gateway to Big Sur. Walk the beautiful Fiscalini Ranch with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.
If you are driving up or down Highway 1 in Big Sur, there is no cell service and communication can be difficult. Most of the restaurants in town close by 9:00.
